NPO urges UN, SADC and AU to aid probe Malawi plane crash

- The Alliance for Democracy has written to UN secretary-general António Guterres expressing shock at the plane crash that claimed the life of Malawi’s Vice-President Saulos Klaus Chilima and nine others. The alliance urges the UN, SADC, and AU to support a thorough investigation into the crash. Alliance for Democracy president Enoch Chihana elaborates.

This is great but Malawi budget cannot sustain much. The question is who will be responsible for the payment of this independent body. Malawi survives mostly in receiving donations which we know will land in the same corrupt politicians.

We cannot trust the invitation from government as we all know that many things already went wrong from day one.
Plane went missing in the morning and the searching only commenced in the afternoon while they knew very well that the plane is missing.
What was the aim behind start the searching in the afternoon?
Who took the phones of the dead people and what time since they said they only found the plane in the next day morning and who switched off their phones in the very first day of the incident since the plane was not burnt?
Who removed the black box and what time?
We cannot trust their investigations
Yes so many unanswered questions .The plane can't just fall and noone on board made efforts to contact anyone .
The hard truth is the fact that the plane went missing morning time and were supposed to arrive at destination by 11am ,why they didn't make it a priority to rush or to the areas of the direction of the plane by sending army by road etc .
It's a mess 😢😩
Like Mr Chihana said, we don't have the expertise even to search large areas, Zambia came to assist. The people were dead that's why they could not answer the phones. When a plane is falling in a nose dive direction, you can't do anything but pray. It's like asking someone who is falling from a building why they didn't make contact .That plane was old, rusted and beyond its service years, the investigation should happen as soon as possible.

Here is the question...Of all places in Malawi, why did the plane crash in Chikangawa forest? This was not an accident; and I'm so glad, MR. Chihana has taken steps to involve independent investigators. That is the only way the truth of what happened can be established. Any inquiries done by the government will likely be compromised. And yes, Mr. Chihana, you have our support because we're all eager to find out the truth of the incident.
