    I’ve been using the ZTS2 50” deck model that I bought back in March, and I have to agree it’s an amazing machine. The best of both worlds with the twin Hydro-Gear ZT-2800 hydrostatic drive system and steerable front wheels. Especially useful since in July, I had an accident which required rotator cuff surgery on my shoulder and put me in a sling for six weeks. The Synchro-Steer system allowed me to continue mowing my lawn using one hand on the wheel within a couple of weeks following surgery. One handed zero-turn maneuvers were no problem at all. Very impressive system.

      Ty you posting ! I might have got the 50" if it was available. I do love the chill aspect of cutting grass with it and them transmissions I think are good I plan on servicing it before winter and might do a video on how to do that.

    I have one ZTS and I love it. I planned on buying a traditional lap-handle zero turn but saw the steering-wheel version and I LOVE IT. Best purchase and likely life-time mower.

    I can see you like value because you want your money to go far. I have been a cub cadet user for several years. I really enjoy this video because I’m going to get a mower like the very one in the video. And I see you have a good pick up also. My compliments sir.

    This thing is fantastic on my steep hillsides. Plus it is easier to control than a lap bar model.👍👌👌👌

    I have a Z-Force S60 Cub Cadet that is now eight years old. I mow 4 acres each week during mowing season. I have steep hills, deep ditches, and a lot of obstacles including trees and stumps. I have treated this mower horribly for eight years. I have mowed things a mower is definitely not supposed to mow. I even mow down my tobacco stalks once I've gathered all the leaves I want from them. When I mow you hear a lot of beating and banging when I run over tree limbs. Now I need a new deck and a few other things that are worn out on it. The engine is good and I will mow a few more times before I buy another Cub. Did I mention I am legally blind.

    Just got my 2023 XTS2 50". My first zero turn was the Toro SW4200 with the steering wheel, finally wore it out, but the engine and hydro's never failed, everything else pretty much did. Gosh.. this one Tracks much much better, I can feel the peddle move on it's own, and also near zero steering wheel effort! The SW4200 was a two Hander to steer. Even in Mud on steep hills, really doesn't show any skid marks at all. Veryt Impressed, now I'm going to cut it up and start modding it! Needs a Shelf, some super vacuum mods, a dump basket, X-Blades, maybe spacers? What's with the upper bolt on rear Frame? That needs serious work.

    • @markhall3434
      @markhall3434 Рік тому

      Thinking Mods now.. that entire top rear frame and bumper unbolts from the main frame. I really need a grate/shelf over the engine to carry tools, chainsaws etc. The 2" tube is easily cut re-welded for a shelf. While I'm at it, think I'll fix the bolt on bumper, shorted it maybe 4 ", pack it tighter against the muffler. I like the open frame, but no so much that it's going every which a way. I think somebody made a design mistake late in the design cycle, and that upper rear frame interfered with the Gas Tank access. They changed the angle and voila it clears

    I got an original Toro SW4200, back in 2012 I think.. one of the original Steering Wheel ZTs. I must say, reliability wasn't great, visibly bent the deck. The Clutch, Spindles 2X, Switches, Relays, Regulator, Brake Controller replaced/bypassed over the years. I MUST Say, as crappy as it was, it would climb a Mountain, and Pull all kinds of Equipment/Trailers, and was used for Clearing massive leaves/sticks Bush Hog Style. The Hydros and Engine itself were great, never an issue, the Heavily ABUSED deck although reinforced just couldn't take much more. Heavily modified with Wider Tries, Spacers, Greatly Modified Deck for Airflow/Vacuum suction, Quad Blades, Dump Basket. Functionally the best Zero Turn Garden Tractor/Mower ever. Pretty much wore her out, still kicking, but deck is getting bad.
    Looking to Upgrade. It's going to be either the ZTS1 42 or the ZTS2 50. Would like to see them side by side. Whichever will be heavily modified for the Vacuum Suckage and Hill dexterity. She get's a trailer hitch with a 2" ball. The open frame and pan removal will make this very easy to maintain/modify. Gettin' me one!

    I just looked at one of these today. How would you rate it as far as driving along hillsides and on soft yards? My yard is fairly large and in the spring is soft and I ave a large bank along the front near the highway.

    I have an older Cub wheel model and have had Cub 2 lap bar models in the past............lap bar is faster, the Wheel model is more comfortable to use & if you have arthritis or any medical issue with your hands or arms......the wheel model is great..........on the negative side, my cubs had/have mediocre reliability & you wait for parts. I sold both my cub lap bar models , and keep my Wheel model as a backup to my Gravely.

      As one who grew up on a Toro SW4200 of early steering wheel zero turn technology.. The ZTS2 isn't Grandpa's Steering Wheel ZT.. The new one tracks beautifully, much more precise than the old stuff. Clearly much better mapping of the SWheel to Transmission control. Actually feels like something is moving in the linkage. Near zero steering effort. Getting an Old School steering wheel Spinner on this one.

      I have stragglers also when mowing tall grass with with deck height set 3..5 plus with my zts1 46. Stragglers are staying bent so they are not cut by the blades. I found lowering deck to 2.5 and slowing speed of mower reduced stragglers.

    does this scuff the turf like a lap bar zero turn does?

    • @RoadieWingZZ
      @RoadieWingZZ Рік тому

      Not as much if/when it does. The steerable front wheels sync perfectly with the rear wheels and eliminate virtually all of the inside drive wheel scuffing.

    Great mowers indeed. But c'mon Cub...a 3.5 gallon fuel tank...really? The 52" Ferris IS1500Z I bought new in 2006 only has one tank like this Cub but it's 5.5 gallons.
