I bought a broken ps5 a few days ago. Turns out all it needed was a hard reset.(I did look for one that has power).Next time maybe i try a "no power" one. Thank you for explaining your process so we can learn something besides the entertainment. I apreciate you sir.
it hard to beleave that two tiny items like that can take down a large console like a ps5 it seem ridiculous thank you for the upload im learning more and more each time i watch your videos thank you
Another fab repair. That capacitor looked huge next to the fuse. Its hard to appreciate the size of these components until they are viewed on the table next to the main board or an everyday item!
Never saw the value of an hot tweezer but it beat your hot air station in removing that cap. Maybe I'll give it a try. Also try some form of adhesive (tack) to hold smd when measuring.
I like your repair method I learned a lot from you and managed to fix a couple of PS5s, some are on my channel as well as the first fix for bug SU-101337-5, best regards and keep up the good work.
I don't really like to just start pulling parts but I was having trouble spotting the heat from that cap. With 3A I knew something should have been hot! Thanks for watching!
Hidden by the red wire but was found. Thanks for sharing sir. I definitely liked it. A sincere congratulations. All the best. PS: (21:25) That ceramic capacitor is the main favorite to win gold in "long jump" in Paris this year...lol😊. On the other hand, it was only fair that luck was on our side again.
Your videos are really good to watch. The only thing that is frustrating is that you are very reserved on your injection current. You need to drive that up to get a good idea on what is happening using a thermal cam. Your at 1V injection you could drive the current up to 10A without causing any more damage. I normally inject with a current level that gives me 1-2 watt this is easy to see with a thermal camera.
Haha, I did notice you didn't replace the fuse in the event of finding the faulty cap. Oupsie! Cool fix. I had one similar to this. A faulty cap and a blown fuse later, it was back. Although the faulty cap was on the back of the south bridge.
Hello Master... I hvae a blown cap nearby the dialog Chip. Ans can't read the value. Do you know which values they have? I can't find a Board diagram or scematics. Thanks alot. BR Marko
I didn't inject through the capacitor. I attached my power supply to a convenient part of the circuit. It was the positive side of a filter capacitor. It is the exact same as attaching at the fuse as they are directly connected through the copper trace.
I have a ps5 disk version, that peeps and won't turn on. It was stuck on rest mode with the orange/yellow light and I made turn to turn it off with the double beep and then unplug it. I thought it was the paddle that was making it do that because they wouldn't stop blinking blue. And now the ps5 won't turn on and I hear a peep every 10 seconds but no blue light or picture
hello sir. i have a ps5 that beeps with a light but after 2 seconds it turns off. is there any chance i can send it out to you and you check it out thank you and have a good day
great repair again, and that fuse, it was a small one
It was 0402 size. They do make smaller ones I believe. Thanks for the visit!
When I finish gym I gonna watch this
Thank you!
Nice Repair, as always ToltecMerc.
Thank you! That's very kind of you!
Another "Fun" one. Great Repair and Video! Thanks.

It is quite common on the PS5. The tiny ceramic caps short often.

Great Vid. Awesome repair as always. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!

I feel like mine are a little under powered. Maybe I need to turn up the heat.
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Tiny parts effects, another great repair.
Excellent.

@@ToltecMerc You have more patience and sense than me, I probably would've pulled about
a dozen of those caps off...:)

I should have spotted it sooner as I knew something was hot. Oh well. We found it eventually! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanx master ❤️🇹🇷
You are very welcome!
I was watching and saying he didn’t change the fuse.
Yeah I missed it. Thanks for watching!
Good job mate

Yep, I forgot. It happens sometimes. Thanks for stopping by!
@ToltecMerc true that. And no problem. Oh and I have sent you an email regarding the 2 ps5 boards I told you about.

Nice one
Thank you very much Steve!
Why did you inject voltage through a capacitor instead of through the psu connectors like I've seen in previous videos?
I didn't inject through the capacitor. I attached my power supply to a convenient part of the circuit. It was the positive side of a filter capacitor. It is the exact same as attaching at the fuse as they are directly connected through the copper trace.

Question, how much would this process cost the customer who comes in with this exact technical issue on their PS5?
Honestly, I do not know. I am only a hobbyist, not a business.
Hola, qué temperatura usas para sacar el IC?
I used 400C with maximum airflow.
can I ask what is the flux you use? a link would be awesome
I just use cheap Kingbo RM-218 flux. It works for me. www.ebay.com/itm/143408532066
@@ToltecMerc thanks. it seems to work very well. it's shiny and flows well
