I finally found a Dr who actually tested my Dhea and it’s really low. My husband thinks I should push through my fatigue and I’m like I can’t. I also have Hashimotos
Yes you definitely can't "push through" something like that! It's like trying to drive a car without gas in the tank. I would also recommend testing your cortisol levels as well if you haven't yet
I’ve been on trt therapy since November and since day one I’ve felt like crap. My trt levels were great. I left 2 clinics because they couldn’t figure it out. I signed up for Nuform and the first thing he said was he DHEA is low. I started looking into it and boom!!!!!!! Every dam symptom I have. He ordered me medication to increase my DHEA level. I’m still waiting for it. I’ll keep you posted but if ur on TRT and still feel like garbage please go check ur DHEA.
I could not figure out why I was not building muscle with strength training and getting so tired after workouts. I e been taking DHEA 10 mg for 6 months and now 20 mg for 1-1/2 mos. Muscle has returned!
same, I finally got a doctor who tested it it's low. I have all the symptoms of fatigue and brain fog, every single one of them. and the doctor says I don't have a home run for you. I have no idea why you have this fatigue.
My personal experience... 1 week I traded coffee for bone broth!! COFFEE was causing my cystic acne amd I found out it lowers Dhea in women!! Also blocks absorption to minerals. Coffee is highly acidic so if your drinking it you'll have to face the fact it's a problem. I been drinking it 20 years in my 40s had a lot of stress and anxiety and gut issues. I finally faced the fact COFFEE was the damn culprit. I am taking dhea to support adrenals because they've been taxed from coffee abuse and stress so I may not take forever just short term to get through 30 days while I quit coffee. Coffee and caffeine will age you. Please get serious about it of you drink it. Nobody is talking about it because it's billion dollar industry and everyone is addicted to stimulant drugs because. Good luck
@@ShinySilverBunny I very occasionally drink coffee but I will keep this in mind. My adrenals are definitely stressed but I think it is emotional stress. When this started to get really bad I lost 7 family members in a year, separated and later divorced after being married 20 years and lost my mom, whom I was very close to suddenly and had to deal with an estate in disarray, her hoarded house and years of unpaid taxes. I got shingles later that year and have constant fever blister outbreaks. I’m definitely stressed. I can’t believe I didn’t take up drugs, alcohol, gambling, or promiscuous sex to manage and still not even coffee 😂. I have started bone broth and used to try to make my own but frankly it was not drinkable (and I’m not picky). The biggest reason for not drinking coffee frequently is that it irritates my bladder, like all acidic things do. But I’ll be more conscious of it and see if I notice a difference. Thanks for the input!
Omg i love the way this doc teaches. You are funny but i like, makes the point clear and relatable. Please my testosterone is veryyy low, my blood hemoglobin was low as well, my dhea is low but within range. I used to have loads of endurance and workout well but all of a sudden so tired and can't even keep up. Also very sad and irritated. l started taking DHEA, because my metabolism slowed and i gained out of no where. Please advice on what you think.
I took a test through Everlywell and have not discussed anything with my doctor, but it showed I have low DHEA and testosterone, but high progesterone. I am a 20-year-old female with extremely regular (but very heavy) cycles. I have no idea if EverlyWell tests are accurate but now of course I'm trying to figure out what's going on. However, I actually started on Vyvanse and Prozac a year ago due to feeling burnt out, anxious, low energy, etc. so this all is starting to come together.

It depends on which test she needs! This link will have more information: drbethwestie.com/dutch-hormone-testing/ If you fill out the form on that page I will send over an email with information on which test you need, the cost, what’s included and how to order.
I’ve been told since I had fibroids in the past that I can’t take dhea because it’ll make me estrogen dominant. Is this true? I’d like to try dhea for libido.
You’d want to know what your pathways look like! Low libido can be linked to a number of things, so best to test hormones to know you’re supplementing with the right things!
But what could cause someone to suddenly have these issues when they've been healthy and fit with no hormonal issues prior? Could a concussion cause it? Weak adrenals? Also, can other symptoms be bloating, shortness of breath, difficulty talking, irritability, second trimester miscarriages, and body buzzing?
There are a number of things that can cause a shift in hormones (stress, sleep, environment, etc). And it’s often a slow build up we just notice it when the symptoms start to present themselves.
That's odd, everything looks okay on our end. Try this link instead: drbethwestie.com/dutch-hormone-testing/ Let me know if you're still experiencing issues!
I have always tested low for DHEA and my Testosterone is “1,” (serum tests last 12 years), but whenever my Naturopath gives me Keto7-DHEA or Testosterone topical rx cream I break out in massive facial acne and gain a pound per day. I cannot continue for very many days bc I need to lose wt, not gain it. Recently, I am being tested for possible Cushing’s due to a small, benign Adrenal Adenoma on each adrenal gland likely secreting excess Cortisol. Could that be why trying to take DHEA and Testosterone always BACKFIRE? I think my SHBG is always high too.
