- Hi everyone, my name is Gordon Ryan. This is a look into my life. If you enjoy it, watch it. If you hate it, watch it. If you don't want to watch it, I don't care. I'll be rich and famous either way. Enjoy ❤️

This is one of the best instructionals I've ever seen. What a great format. Showing normal people execute while Gordon guides, corrects, and talks about concept, is brilliant. I learned SOOOO much from this one video. More like this please. 🙏
The commentaries here felt like I was sitting on the mat with you. Very very enjoyable content. Could watch and listen to it all day. Way better than the "cool factor" stuff, all due respect.
This is way easier to follow than instructionals. Gordon should make a whole series teaching someone his systems like this!
💯 I'd buy more instructionals if they were in this format
Very smart
Can he also teach how to take steroids successfully
@@ggn1 Plenty of vids on that right here on YT.
@@happzy gimme some pointers which are the best accounts
Good Details learnded so much in just First 5 mins thank you Gordon pls more vids like this.
Thank you Godon to make jiu jitsu better and bigger. You have many fans here in Brazil!
I love that Gordon fully believes in John and his theory on Jiu Jitsu. Gordon isn’t teaching the new guy any fancy submissions, he’s teaching him what Danaher states is the absolute most important thing to master first and that is pin escapes.
Yep because from my understanding it gives them the confidence to open up and attack. They aren't worried about getting put in a bad position.
Yes, you could say that belief is one side of the coin, good execution is the other. They both feed off each other. I also love that Gordon is such a good coach, his explanations are crystal clear, much like JD.
everyone wants magic, no one wants to grind the basics
@@alletklameistathe real magic happens when you have someone as talented as Gordon drill enough basics and stuff to really unlock his full potential, like a world class coach as John danaher could turn anyone into a very competent jiu jitsu practitioner but it also takes an exceptionally talented student like Gordon for it to really work out and have all the teachings come to fruition entirely
I love coach Gordon explaining stuff I already know but the way he explains is so concise
I've listened to the kip out and the frame/hip walk. Gotta go to work. I'll watch the rest later. Gordon is very articulate with jiu jitsu and communicates it masterfully.
I feel like this is way better than an instructional. You can see him correcting common mistakes and coaching through the move which, in my opinion, is a lot better then him just showing the technique. More content like this please!
100%
Have you ever seen an instructional?
@@babiskatopodis2787 yes, and I think the format of this video is a better study.
@@babiskatopodis2787 No. whats an instructional
I agree
Should you be giving this man this power?
Martins is a glorious human being, he will do only good things with this new power he wields.
@@TheUrbanBeekeeperstruth
He'd gas 23 seconds into any grappling match.
@@Yinzer808would you like to grapple him?
Completely agree with a few comments on here - this way of watching Gordon instruct is fantastic and I would love to see a whole series done exactly in this way. Excellent watch 👌
Gordan is a good teacher
CUCK
can confirm. listened to countless hours of Gordan's instructionals
Yeah he is!
Honestly, when it comes to BJJ he is really the best grappler ever - great technique, great game IQ and sense, great teacher, great analyst, great commentary, from what I've heard - great training partner as well! It's just outside of BJJ he does so fucking much wrong that people cannot bear to like him...

please more such videos, where you coach people
I really love this instructional format. Seeing a novice attempt, learn, and correct helps me see my own mistakes and misunderstandings and better learn. 10/10
2:48 little bridge, big bridge, then kip
12:18 cross face grip
16:58 prevent sweep
I ve never learned so many details for mount escapes from a vlog video
That is amzing ... I have trained and never was iy explained as direct and simple as Gordon does ... he should do a tutorial and you can just hear John in him
Martins is one of the most amazing athletes to ever exist. I love how many strong men are starting to train in MMA. I think in the next few years we will see fighters start doing more strength training just to be competitive. We saw in the mid 90s how different supplements helped change how athletes approach their training for their sports. I think as more people are participating and watching strength sports more people will see the advantages of being stronger in every weight class. I could be wrong though.
Thank you GORDON, for the high level information.
there is So much information in this one video. Im going to study it and add all these little techniques to my game . ty gordon

okay, i know what ill be doing from now on 🤝
Been training bjj for about 6,5 months and wrestling for about 4 months, went to two tournaments and after watching this video I had a nogi class where I for the first time could escape mount pretty reliable. This type of teaching beginners those small details and basics helps me a lot.

Say whatever yall want about Gordon. I would much rather learn BJJ from him than Craig. Every video I’ve ever seen of Gordon teaching he’s polite, respectful, answers any questions and generally just seems like a great guy to learn from. Contrast to Craig and you’re more likely to get a broken leg because his ego goes crazy.
SAME. I went to a Craig Jones seminar instead of one of Gordon's, and I regret it. I was excited to learn from him and he was awful to everyone. He couldn't be bothered to teach jiu jitsu. He treated us like we were peasants or something lol. I'll never spend my money with him ever again.
@@warden1276dang he seems like he’s cool to hang with but also he has the vibes of not really caring so idk how that translates when it would be bjj teaching lol 😂 him being awful I hope that’s an isolated incident tho I don’t have any real malice against any of these competitors
Absolutely. I went to one of Gordon's seminars in Austin back in 2021 right after he moved there and he was outstanding. It was Gordon, John, and Tom DeBlass. Best seminar I've ever been to and they were all super friendly and helpful. They all answered some questions at the end about anything we wanted and when I asked about the breaking mechanics of the outside heel hook that I was struggling with, John demonstrated on me and then had me try it on someone else while he walked me through it. He was hilarious the whole time and I didn't want it to end because I could listen to him all night. They all took pics with everyone so when I got to the front to take a pic with John and Gordon, Gordon even joked and asked how that heel hook felt from John and we laughed. It was the coolest experience of my whole Jiu-Jitsu journey and definitely nothing I'll forget ever. I was such a fan boy. 😂 I had the opportunity to go to B team the following day but didn't. Last year I did though and it felt very awkward and like no one even gave a shit I was there. No welcome or anything from anyone. Craig wasn't there or Jay Rod but everyone else was like Nicky Rod, Nicky Ryan, Josef Chen, Damian Anderson, Ethan, and Haisam Rida. Not one of the big names from there even spoke unless I did. They clearly just want money and that's it. Huge difference.
The criticisms of Gordon have never been his jiu-jitsu
@@DontbeanNPC These are 2 different things. You went to a seminar and then went to train in a gym. Not all of the guys you listed are owners of B-team and you just probably paid the visitor fee. I like both teams and I wouldn't say Craig's seminars are 'awful', he just rushes things too much and is firstly money-driven, where Gordon is achievement-driven. John's joy, and to a high degree Gordon's, comes from teaching, whereas Craig just doesn't want to be stuck in a routine, and the rest of the guys just wanna compete. During my camp with Craig in Thailand, Jozef covered for Craig one of the days and he puts effort in explaining and helping people. Idk if it's the same now because his environment has influence but you're mostly right.
Gordon is the best No-Gi grappler ever. It's not even close. His attention to detail is second to none
Iam not biased. Maybe some guys are. This guy is on a diffrend level. Imagine. Starting with 15teen. Become the goat in no gi. His ability to teach is even the same level as an athlete, cause he is able to teach from the sideline only with instructions , showing no single technique. This guy is really gifted. Wonderful. Iam also teacher in special forces. Not US. Kings Class for us is sitting on the sideline, showing no single technique but beeing so precise in explanations or instructions that our Ukes know excatly what they have to do. Big applause .
This is gold. I hope someone willing to train like this with me.
A series about teaching one single beginner would be awesome
This is even better then usual howTo videos. I would even buy this type of instructional.
That video description had me rolling 🤣🤣I love it LOl
This is pure gold! Thanks for sharing ❤
Great session Ryan! Love. the daycare story. That teacher was doing God's work for you kids by teaching techniques and grappling the best that he could given the environment.
Martins seems really humble and ready to learn
Great video work showing different angles .. so we can see exactly …
Martin is so big it looks like an adult attending kids class 😅
I really love this format for instructionals!
G is for GANGSTER!
GORDON 🙋♂️👍 the best.
when sinking the head arm choke i tell people to fingure the armpit, get it deep in there, it seems to help them get the conectivity of their elbow pit on the neck
Poor Silas! "He's gonna break him in half!!" 😭 😂
Thanks Gordon you just fixed my arm triangles ❤
This Gordon guy looks like he might be going places in the Bjj world.
What place?
Please, more of these!!!
Gordon vs Meregali would be good to see.
Teaching this beast Jiu Jitsu should be illegal. Can you imagine if he trains BJJ for 1 year 😱
Great Video. I learned many things from it. Thank you.
@20:25 you reference diaphram training - can you make a video or explain this part?
bump
Gordon is fuking huge
You think Gordon is? I don't see that. I feel like he's smaller here than normal. He doesn't look like he's lifting weights or juicing now. Martins is huge.
Can’t deny this man’s ability and instruction. I know all of his haters watched this and took notes.
Thanks Gordon.. that is so much great content
Beard scratch @1:40
Nice asmr
The real GOAT. Love u from France
Martins Licis learning Jiu-jitsu is terrifying
amazing video! best top lvl free bjj lesson on yt right now :)
keep this content up ❤🔥🔥 will bring even more young generations into the sport with those easy to follow teachings. on other real people scenarios 😍
don’t forget to give them a 5 min round with you too :)) that will make every video unmissable
this video is literally 2 man hugging on the ground and touching each other for first 20 minutes and then 5 minuts of talking
Goat grappler and goat teacher as well💪🏼I wish I could learn from him too😢
One year of martins training with Gordon and omg, imagine turning up to a comp as a white belt against that .. Jesus
Very informative. Thank you GR. OSS 🥋
23:00 Very good.
This guy is good teacher
Please make videos for beginners… all the way to advance we can buy your videos. I find i learn more this way than a class.
Gordon, good work. 🤝🤩
I remember Gordon making an ig story when his “tricked out” jeep broke down and left him on the side of the road, if that helps anyone entering lol
Yes, they replaced the engine and now the engine is 7k miles newer lmao
Looking forward to comment from Craig Jones. This was great though!
Man these moves are crazy
Great content mate thank you 🙏
How much to do course with gordon . Good teaching 👍
They gotta change the submission rules.
You know how in wrestling you get point for putting the guy on his back ?
in jiu jitsu you should get points for putting your hands on a part of their body where you can cause an immediat victory.
So if you can wrap your palm around their face - that's a pin.
If you can wrap your palm on their throat - that's a pin.
If you can grab their crotch - that's a pin.
Also if you can grab their fingers - that's a pin - but only if you meet tested strength requirements above your opponents fingers in a static strength test.
In reality eye gouging and throat strikes are what works and they end fights. The way they roll now is useless versus a "crashout" in the street.
MARTINS!! ✊🏼
Amazing details!
Great Lesson Gordon!!
I clicked to see Kyriakos Grizzly being trained in jiu jitsu.. i dont see the worlds stongest man in this video...
"teaching jiu jitsu to a big man is like giving wings to a snake" Helio Gracie.
I'm not sure if Gordon reads these comments, but if so, maybe he can clarify something about the mounted arm triangle for me. Or anyone else can, if they know the answer.
In this Gordon teaches to swivel the foot off of mount and to the side for the finish. This was always how I learned to finish a mounted arm triangle, but recently we see people maintaining the mount and just shifting their hips to that side, rather than fully dismounting. I was wondering which variation is preferable. I see Gordon teaching the classic way here, but that makes me wonder why others do the shift.
I know a lot of times to escape the arm triangle people offer their back, so staying mounted makes it easier to quickly establish hooks. What are the pros and cons of each variation?
When you mount them, it is true that hooks will become easier if they turn. So, if you know an opponent will turn, stay mounted. However, when you're mounted, your hips are still connected to theirs, meaning any bridge they do will have much more of an off balancing effect on you, and because your elbows (base of support in this case) are relatively close together, a strong bridge may disrupt the structure of the lock and force you to post a hand or to end up in bottom position. In addition, bec of the way the finishing mechanics operate, it's easier to pull your elbow down into the shoulder and push your head into theirs from side control. Generally, if I have someone who I know will belly out to avoid the strangle, I'll stay mounted and hunt the back. If I have a strong bridger, I'll dismount. Hope this helps!:)
Good stuff! thanks
gordon teach very good bratha

Great vid. Thanks.
Isn't this video from years ago?
what if the new owner is in europe? how are you getting the jeep to him?:)
or did you specify is usa only?
Dude, I need the rashguard that Martins is wearing. Where can I find it?
Martins looks Giancarlo ate Giancarlo…
ngl I was hoping to hear "Jiu jitus is usually taught to allow technique and position to overcome strength, but since you'll win all the strength battles, here's lazy jiu jitsu for the strongest player"
Never watched Jui Jitsu before but very into strongman - why does this guy have "I'll be rich and famous either way" written in the video description?
Amazing instruction
Can you explain diaphragm training??
Great video 🎉
What did you mean with the diaphragm training?
Good stuff. I learnt a lot.
