For Sure!! Mark is a MASTER guitarist and songwriter!!! *In case you read this Mark. I want to thank you for writing such a beautiful touching song! Untill tonight I was thinking about my daughters we lost at 4 months old, and I was watching the video from Wembley Stadium and that's when I found out you wrote this song after the passing of your Mother. My deppest condolences!! Time may fly by, but our loved ones we've lost are always a heartbeat away!* Thanks again. Peace always, Stevoo*
Greatest guitar player of our current generation. His solo work and his work with Alter Bridge are some of the best pieces ever written. Had the honour of seeing this guy live with AB in Cardiff this December and he is as mind blowing in real life as he is on record
I watched this video about 1 week after my grandpas passing and learned how to play this. I played a song I wrote at his funeral and was irritated I never thought to play this before then. So I ended up combining the two songs together to make a nice beautiful sounding piece. (And yea I had relearn how to play my own song in this tuning that way I could combine the two(not fun btw)) so now the song is called Tribute/In Loving Memory ❤️
What a great tune, love the first AB album (My favorite). Mark is great teacher too, I've watched lots of his tutorials (Cauterize, Another Heart, etc.). The guy can right some killer riffs and his signature guitar ain't bad either.
I love playing this song acoustic or electric. I also dedicated this song to my mother who passed away last year october. This song is so powerful. Decdicated to all our love once who passed away. Mark Tremontis guitar leaks is amazing!!
This song really keeps me from playing forward and hard.. searching for the tabs and how to play ILM is a pain in the ass.. thanks for this video so we have an original reference from now.
I get that, I saved for a american Prs tremonti and now when I have one.... it puts my other guitars to shame... the tonality and the sheer volume of the guitar alone is Amazing, like a semi acoustic Hahah ! Well worth the savings!
@@johanlindblom1 im not the biggest prs fan but we have a tremonti signature at my store and it sounds great. not my favorite in terms of feel but the tone completely makes up for it and ill probably buy it.
Would the fingerings position be the same in d⁵? I have to tune a whole step ½ down because my low range vocals are so deep. Imagine Til Lindemann singing Alter Bridge lol.
0:21 how do you do that? i’ve always seen people do that after performing but like it seems like they’re not pressing down on the fret is there a name for that ?
yeah like the other guy said its called natural harmonics, you just basically LIGHTLY put your finger on the 12th fret (for example) and pick it, it is supposed to sound much similar like pressing down on the fret
What guage string would guys suggest I feel like I need to use unusual guages for an unusual tuning. When I drop a regular A string down to a G it's floppy as shit and loose
icon yeah it does sound a bit different on the record. It’s the same notes but it doesn’t the same. It sounds like there’s some sliding in there somewhere that I don’t hear here.
@@Stimson122 I know my ears. If you dont notice album version different from this, well... your ears suck. I know because I have official tabs too. Hes not playing the same notes as album version.
@@GS-ht2it Lol...its cute that you want to explain guitar concepts to someone who actually "teaches" guitar...i.e., me. Seriously, if you don't get the joke, you shouldn't reply...he should call them "D-string, G-string, C-string, F-string..." etc. since he has tuned them whole step down.
this guy is one of the greatest song writers ever!
Possibly my favorite Alterbridge song. So emotional and beautiful
mine aswell
+100 agree
totally agree, so moving

Such an underrated guitarist. He deserves a top 10. It's not easy to stand out from alternative genre as a monster guitarist.

@@AeroPR mostly rolling his volume knob down and keeping the pickup in the treble position with distortion.
You inspired me play guitar... thank you Tremonti
One of the most underrated of all time. Love the way he plays.
Hardly say he was underrated he's one of the most known and best guitarist in the world
0:59 - I grab my g-string . Mark , y u gotta be like that 😂😂. Jokes apart, this guy is highly underrated!
This song was written for Mark's mother when she passed. Must have been tough for him to teach the riff, nonetheless, it's beautiful.
The emotion in this is unbelievable, It instantly felt like a creed song in my mind. Feels...
brilliant player humble , and song that resonates with many of us who lost people we love, thanks for this
"I'll do it slow for you"
Aha..
Love Mark's tone! sounds just like the album!

Natural harmonics. You can find lots of tutorials around.
3rd 5th 7th 12th frets
more aswell but i dont care to list
yeah like the other guy said its called natural harmonics, you just basically LIGHTLY put your finger on the 12th fret (for example) and pick it, it is supposed to sound much similar like pressing down on the fret
Great guitar player…. “The Real” is still on my playlist and I listen to it almost daily. Love that F ing song. He’s never lost that Creed sound…. Lol
the tuning is basically just open g but a half step down
Where da faq is the LOVE BUTTON?!
Please make open your eyes by Alter bridge guitar lesson

very nice work mark. well done, and hey dispshit. lets jam. look me up.
Ok I’ve got most of it but what stings are being played and plucked at 2:46 in the video
Chords for the verse and chorus anyone??? (In the same tuning)
Love the strap #GoSox

Sort of has a Jimmy Page feel to it. Good stuff.

Can someone help me with the chords
Tuning PLEASEEEe
It may be just me...but..Mark seems to be losing a lot of weight???...what happened to his muscles?... Great musician

I've always wondered if tremonti was a republican or a Democrat.??
Hopefully a rep
thats open A
Never
Name a guitar player that has inspired more guitar players in the past twenty than Mark tremonti go ahead ill wait!
I was expecting drop C or something with a ton of distortion.
This dude is not from earth.
🫶🏻♥️
strange tuning
Open G is great. :)
Not really strange. Open G. Wonderful Life, Watch over you, and this song are all open G, or a half step down from open G.
Hide - creed too
His finger picking technique is kinda weird. It's cool though.
That isn’t how he ends it on the record!!!! Not even close!!
Bradbssargdons yeah, because you’d know, over the person who wrote and recorded it
Stimson122 exactly what I was thinking

@icon Whats funny is I have seen them live 4 times, heard this song 4 times live, and he played album-accurate each time.
1. Tunes every string down a full step
2. Still calls them "E" string, "A" string, "D" string...
3. Mind confused

He explains it at the beginning of the video, I guess you missed that part. Pretty simple stuff.
