is the ignitor about the same as a coil? What happens if one removes the rpm limiter? I don't want to over rev my motor but I would like 20mph out of it.

We have changed out a lot of our parts... could the igniter be the reason why it wont start but revs like it wants to? Weve swapped out alot of the parts from the battery to the cart but not the igniter. Could the igniter be the issue we dont get spark at the plug?
Is it true that you can cut the brown wire on the limiter if the limiter is malfunctioning and it will work I’m seeing comments about that on other videos and I personally don’t want a limiter on my golf cart anyways But it is causing me problems getting spark I would rather just cut the brown wire everybody talking about

Replaced the rpm limiter & ignitor. Press slightly on gas peddle and the cart begins to rev up and then dies down and then it will rev up and take off. Kinda like a fake start. Any ideas?
Will this cause no power to go to the solenoid? I have no power at solenoid. Solenoid has been tested and is good. Micro switches checked out ok also. 30 amp fuse is good. But still no power to engine to crank it. What else do I need to look for. It is a 98 ds gas engine Club Car
No, totally different circuit. Power goes from the battery to the key switch, then accelerator micro switch and on to the solenoid. Check across the 2 small terminals on the solenoid with the key switch on, in forward and with the pedal pressed down. Should have total battery voltage. If not, find out which is missing, Positive or Negative circuit.
I have a 03 club car turf 1 engine idles but when you push gas it dies do you have an answer for that

I have a 1996 DS that is after the change when the igniter is part of the coil. How do I remove the coil/ignitor so I can check to see if it is faulty?
randyb399 As far as I know, there's no way to check the ignitor, Quick way to check the coil is checking for nice blue spark.
How about you do the removal with the body intact so the rest of us can see how to do it. Mine is going to be done with the body right where it is now.

Question...I have a 97 DS that has some slight starting issues. Would this ignighter be the issue you think?
If i haven't ran the cart for awhile and go to start it I need to use the choke slightly as well as feathering the gas pedal.
Its finicky but I can start it pretty quickly but others can quickly kill the battery...lol
Did this repair fix a starting problem?

Keith Davis Sounds like the Ignition Coil is breaking down. Check the Male Spade Terminal with the Core and look for 0.6 ~ 1.4 ohms. Then check the Main Lead inside the cap to the Core and look for 6.0 ~ 11.0 ohms. Out Of Spec.....See Below......

Our DS cuts out (ignition we think) at extended max throttle. Could the rpm limiter cause this? The governor has been opened all the way also. To make it run again we have to lift off of the throttle and then reapply it.
have the same problem with my 94 , did you ever figure out what the problem was?
my club car wouldn't stop running. I flipped it in neutral, and found a wire hanging. I grounded it and it killed it. I learned that this is the engine kill wire, but I have no idea where it is supposed to run to. It is connected to the bottom of the motor, by the rpm limit or, but the other hand is not connected. it looks like it is supposed to go back by the starter some where, but I can't see where. 09 Club Car DS
Was trying to help neighbor out with his club car. How do you tell year? The issue I found was when you depressed the engine spun and no spark. When I let my foot off accelerator, one single spark would emit.
@@rywolf01 It is on the serial number plates that they mount. There will be the last two numbers of the year on there somewhere. Google it. THey will tell you which numbers are the year.
Where is the regular located on a 1992 gas powered club car
I have a 1992 gas club car that runs for several hours then i have to charge battery ,I'm sure its the starter generator or voltage regulator but don't know where they are

on my golf cart the gear shifter is messed up it wont shift all the way into drive and when it dose the govrner wont alow it to go any thoughts on what it could be?

I have a 1993 club car and have problems with the coils. It ran perfect for 2 years then the coil failed. I took it the authorized dealer and they replaced the coil and it ran fine for about 1 to 3 months. They replaced the coil 3 times and since then I have had to replace the coil 6 times about every 3 months.The gap is correct from the coil to the flywheel. The dust cover is on correctly so the fan works properly. The spark plug is not fouled and is working good but the spark appears to be weak on all the coils that I have installed. Could anyone recommend what could be causing the coils to fail.

When the engine gets hot it will not crank for a few minutes then it will crank and start what do I need to check it's a 1991 club car

I have a carry all cleaned the carb changed fuel filter n fuel pump n it sputters when driving
+juan Lopez Pull the fuel hose off the carburetor and make sure you have 1/2" to 3/4" pulsating fuel. If so, check the spark plug for constant spark and a nice blue spark.

+DIY Golf Cart thanks for the help and the fact reply but I checked the new plug I put in and it seems that the piston may have hit it n closed the gap I regapped it and put it back in what would have hit it? I'm using the recommended plug
+juan Lopez That's very unusual for the piston to be hitting the plug if it's the correct one. Double check the plug part number, worst case scenario, put a washer around the base of the plug to raise it up.
