One of the great male vocalists of our days. Performed nightly in Las Vegas for years. I would recommend his heartfelt reminiscence: "The Green Green Grass of Home."
So smooth, like caramel. Then that first high note grabs your heart and you are trapped. Sir Tom is on another level of his craft. Perfect pitch, perfect emotion, one take live on TV. He STILL does it, he has an immortal gift.
Well said, a masterpiece indeed. I''m in my seventies and hearing this again still gives me goose bumps. What a masterful performance, so powerful, so emotional. What a perfect song for that voice. Thanks.
What a wonderful reaction ! You`re such a sweet and lovable lady . Yes it`s a golden oldie , and a great performance by TOM JONES !! However , i couldn`t take my eyes off you , your facial expressions were simply precious , and your smile will melt your heart !!! So , well done my lady !!!! Best wishes and GOD bless !!!!
Tom Jones's voice goes through all the required levels that you personally want to hear, power, perfect tessitura, metal is unique and wonderful, the perfect voice to interpret and transmit every feeling, he says singing everything he feels and doesn't we ask to communicate, he does it for each one of us with the best voice in the world. great singer, the best.....
I am blessed that I will be going to see him live next month. A life long dream. I am so thrilled so see many, I hate the phrase because I don't consider myself old, but so many young people appreciating what a magnificent singer Sir Tom is. So glad you a loved it. I hope he sings this song at the concert!
Beautiful reaction by a beautiful woman to a beautifully performed song! Man Tom Jones just flat out BUTTER smooth and powerful vocals sung with passion! Now you have to do Righteous Brothers "Unchained Melody".
Such a reminder of music from my childhood, I was born in 1967, the purity of the voice, the beautiful, soulful richness of his voice. I love watching him on The Voice now as a judge, his beautiful blue eyes just sparkle 💖
Nice to see you reacting to some of the classic singers from the 60's & 70's. Tom Jones is a Welsh singer who has one of the smoothest powerful voices around. And he was a showman too, in fact he was a big heart-throb with the ladies. He has so many hits such as "It's Not Unusual", "What's New Pussycat?", "Green, Green Grass of Home", "Delilah", "She's a Lady". He covers a lot of genres. Hope you will look into more of them. He is still performing & is a coach on "The Voice" UK version. He also had a variety show from 69 - 71 & had some of the biggest music stars at the time.
Hummmmm... what a bright young lady. Loved you taking your time, not rushed, slowly, and talking at us. Beautiful too. NO.... Thank You;-) Bless u hun!
Tom Jones, one of the most amazing voices of all times. Such a strong and smooth performance, but yet such a sad, emotional song. Great reaction, Sarah! ❤❤
I remember when he came upon the scene! He owned our hearts then and he still can knock out the rich toned songs today. He and I are in our eighties but he can still SING!
Greetings from Scotland! Ah Tom! Sorry, SIR Tom now! We were born just a couple of miles apart in Wales! But that's where the similarities end! He's still a great singer, I no longer sing well at all! Amazingly, although he's now 81 years old, 14 years older than me, his voice is as powerful and stable now as it was then! He's had quite a life has our Sir Tom! I'm proud to say I am from the same Welsh valley as such a legend!
I'm also a long standing(50 years) imigrant to Scotland. Sir Tom is a marvel and one of the most genuine nice guys of the entertainment world. He appreciates great singing and his picks on "The Voice" are allways excellent.
@@philpiper Well hello neighbour! Originally moved to Bonar Bridge, Sutherland back in 1974. Then Lairg, Tain, Travelled for a few years then worked in Dunbar and now retired here (on the East Coast somewhere!). I probably haven't totally settled yet but since Covid hit I haven't moved. My youngest son is the Stillman for Glenmorangie Whisky. Problem is, I don't like Whisky much, prefer Tequila! Don't tell anyone though or I'll be drummed out of the Highlands!
Tom performed that song live on the Dusty Springfield show, which was broadcast in those days, on Saturday nights LIVE at prime time. There was nowhere to hide in those days. The performance had to be perfect, autocue hadn't been invented, and miming was not allowed. Tom is eighty two now and still performing sold out shows. He's like a fine wine, he gets better with age. I loved your reaction. Unlike other channels, you played the song without interruption and then discussed afterwards, which is much better. Very well done, I look forward to more reaction shows from you.❤
Sir Tom Jones as he is now after being honoured by the Queen is 82 this year. He sang with all the greats during his 6 decade career including people like Elvis, janis joplin, stevie wonder and Aretha Franklin to name a few. He is a judge on the voice UK. He has still got the voice look up some of his performances on the voice including with Jennifer Hudson.
Elvis and Tom were friends and admired each other's talents. Elvis often brought Tom back to his hotel suite after they finished their nightly Vegas shows and they'd hang out together singing gospel songs mostly. However, they never performed onstage together... Elvis's manager wouldn't allow it.
He’s on the English version of the “Voice” and he’s such a nice guy. Now in his 70’s, he still has tremendous voice. It just shows what your voice can do, if you practice, practice practice. You don’t need Autotune.
Great reaction Sarah. Tom Jones and Elvis Presley were good friends and both were amongst the greatest talents music has ever seen. This is a great performance and I can’t wait for you to react to more TJ but definitely more Elvis Presley. I loved your reaction to both genuine and taken aback. That’s what talent like this does to you 50-60 years later. But you ain’t seen nothing yet - EP was called the king for a reason PS I don’t know if you know but Elvis lived in Germany for 2 years while he was in the army (he got drafted at the height of his early fame in 1958). He lived near Friedberg - the house he lived in is still there and they have tourism built around his time there 😀
He is still singing.Just a question, have you heard of the band Camel? The are progressive rock band from the Uk in the 70's. And it is Sir Thomas John Woodward OBE, known professionally as Tom Jones, is a Welsh singer. Thanks and all the best from England..
I love watching how the demeanour of young folk changes when they realise that they have only been exposed to manufactured plastic music and that this is what real music, real talent sounds like.
Great song. It was written especially for Sir Tom Jones by Lonnie Donegan. He actually sings this song on the Voice along with the son of Lonnie. I believe his name is Peter He says he never had this broken heart. He married his school mate at 17 yrs. He says he was happily married for 59 years up until her recent death Watch the clip on the Voice. That will certainly bring a tear to the eye.
If I remember his story correctly he started out in mining in Wales. It was such a stroke of luck that he was plucked from obscurity and his voice could be enjoyed by the entire world and not just his friends and family! ❤️💜❤️💜
Tom's father was a coal miner, but not Tom. Tom worked in a glove factory, sold vacuum cleaners door-to-door, and labored in construction during the day and sang in workingmen's clubs and pubs at night and on weekends. He had survived tuberculosis as a pre-teen (spending two years in isolation at home in order to recover from the disease), and was warned by the doctors that he must never go to work in the mines. Thankfully, Gordon Mills happened to hear him sing in one of those local Welsh pubs and helped him get his break in London.
Seeing your awesome reaction to this Tom Jones classic is one of the highlights of my day! There are only two things wrong with your channel, Sarah! The first is that you don't put out three songs a day (though understandable with your young family), and you don't have hundreds of thousands of subscribers, because you are so good you deserve a much larger following. I am so thankful I get to enjoy your reactions!!
Sir Tom Jones still sings as well as he did in 1967! He is a judge on The Voice (Britain) & he still charms the women when he sings during this show !! He drove women crazy back in 60’s & 70’s up to present day 🥰🤩 Sir Tom is from Wales 🏴 a small beautiful country part of the UK, he truly sings like other Welsh people I have heard sing, my cousin sang in his church choir in the town of Llandeilo, Wales, when we visited from Canada years ago. The beautiful voices of that choir still haunt me from that visit & I know Sir Tom is incredible like other Welshmen I have heard. I have loved him since the 60’s and am soo happy you have discovered another amazing voice 🥰🇨🇦💎💔❤️🩹❣️
Hi young lady you should have a look at this.Peter Donegan sings ‘Bless the Broken Road’ & ‘I'll Never Fall In Love Again’ | The Voice Stage #58. All the best and Tom still has it.
Tom Jones didn't have his heart broken, he was much more a heart breaker himself. He's just a great enough singer to make a strong emotional connection to the lyrics. He's mentioned that this is one of his favorites among the songs considered his canon.
Tom is one of the best voices ever. Right there with Elvis, and by the way, they were good friends. Tom and Elvis are entertainers, not performers. There's a big difference between the two types. Trust me, i know!!
Glad you enjoyed and discovered this man’s talent. Us oldies have been mesmerised by his voice for years…… try “ without love “ or “ I who have nothing”….. different styles of Tom but I’m sure you’ll enjoy… the man can sing anything trust me.
Tom's from lovely little Wales, Land of Song. Also from Wales try Shirley Bassey (e.g Goldfinger), Only Boys Aloud choir (Calon Lan, Britain's Got Talent audition), Cor Glanaethwy (on Britain's Got Talent), Morriston Orpheus choir (Myfanwy), Welsh crowd singing the national anthem before beating England at rugby 30-3 in 2013, and singing Yma O Hyd before beating Austria at football.
Tom is a legend. His restraint, his power, his perfect pitch and tone. This is why Elvis called him the best in the biz.
One of the great male vocalists of our days. Performed nightly in Las Vegas for years. I would recommend his heartfelt reminiscence: "The Green Green Grass of Home."
Thank you for the recommendation 😊 I'll add it to the list!
Hi beautiful ❤❤❤
Tom is still alive and can still belt it out!
Yes, I so agree with you!!
No auto tune, no computer generated help, etc. Pure, raw, unedited, talent. People rehearsed and worked hard and perfected their gift.
Pure art
Sir Tom Jones......an absolute legend and still a great singer in his eighties!

Very nice reaction and expected when watching Tom Jones perform.
Hopefully you'll experience more of him.
There are none like him.

Sir Tom is still singing, as others have said, a coach on The Voice UK, he still out sings the contestants!
He's a national Treasure
What a gem!
Kudos to you for your reaction and giving the respect that Sir Tom Jones deserves. You nailed it.

Unbelievable performance. I’m 76 and saw him live in Vegas, and he sings and performs live like no one else. Beautiful review!!!! ❤️
Beautiful summary of Tom Jone’s performance! Even today at the age of 80 years old, he still has a dynamic and powerful voice! Amazing talent!
Prince never liked people covering his music but Tom Jones singing "Kiss" was an exception.
Loved your reaction! There are decades of wonderful performances from Tom to enjoy... and he is still singing!
He still sings the same now !! You are a very special lady yourself !!

Hi Ms. S., As I have said many times; this is one of the best live performances ever.. ♠W.G.
Plain and simply the greatest ever male singer from the UK.

What can I say but stunning he sings like he's going through agony , yes wow x
Check him out on a tv programme called 'The Voice' where he sings this song again, but now in his 70's. He hasn't lost the power.
