I love watching people's reactions to this song. Especially when they're emotional halfway through and I'm thinking "Wait until the final high note". Hi from Canada, Sarah!
Found this channel because I was listening to different versions. This aria was not often heard before Pavarotti made it popular by singing it as his concerts. One would never guess from the incredible beauty of this aria how silly the context, the storyline of the opera is.
Listen again and again, and you will never get tired of it. Pavarotti is the best tenor ever. He is a cathedral of singing, perfection, divine. His technic is flawless. He is always focused and transfers all the emotions of the aria, without being himself emotional and losing control. I have been listening to him for 40 years and I prefer his voice among all tenors I have listened to as well.
Caruso Nessun. Luciano tingling. Caruso breath taking. Try Met opera turandot NON PIAGERE LIU singers Domingo and LEONA MITCHELL. Domingo more versatile
That’s a voice straight from heaven a gift from God he goes right past your ears and right into your soul. Thank you for your reaction and thanks for sharing have a blessed day
There's so much beauty in opera. So many moving performances. The talent is unbelievable and the beauty is addicting. This is one of those performances you listen to over and over. Beautiful ❤
Absolute chills every time I hear Pavarotti sing this song. It touches your soul ❤️. Thank you Sarah. It is Thanksgiving in the US, so happy Thanksgiving to you and anyone else who is reading this.
Does it matter that you don't understand the language? Nope! All that matters is that it moves you in some way. The human voice is the greatest instrument.
I do find it's even more powerful, even if you don't know the full words but if you know the story of the Opera in question.. it adds a whole new layer to it, as certain phrases are sung a certain way, because of the emotion held behind them, that relates to the story
I love your beautiful reaction, it's priceless. I hope you investigate other opera performers, both male and female. Mr. Pavarotti was certainly one of opera's greatest tenors.
A wonderful reaction, beautiful even. The music aside, watching you experience this was a treat for me, just like the first time I heard it live as a young man. Pavarotti was the greatest tenor of his time, maybe ever. He creates a tapestry of intensity and emotion that envelops the listener, leaving no choice but enter his world and experience it with him. He was truly a blessing from heaven, and the pride of Italy. I think the lesson here for young people is to remain open to all kinds of music, it’s never clear when something will reach out and touch the heart.
A beautiful & emotional reaction to a great Masterpiece. silly little fact about this performance. This 3 minute Masterpiece performed by the Great Luciano received a 20 minute standing ovation from the audience!!

This Pavarotti Nessun Dora video has been on my watch later list for a year. I’m so glad I finally got to it. Your reaction was terrific. You have a wonderfully open mind about music! I have enjoyed so many of your reaction videos. Sarah, you are so close so 100,000 subscribers! I look forward to you reaching that level.
Difference could be something absolutely unique….absolutely amazing. You are also an absolutely amazing women. Thank you for having react to opera music even this is so far away from that which you grow up.
Nao consigo ouvir Pavarotti sem lembra de minha saudosa mãe, me emociono, arrepia minha coluna e sinto o corpo entorpecer, ao ouvir a mais bela voz do Planeta que já existiu! I can't listen to Pavarotti without remembering my late mother, I get emotional, my spine shivers and I feel my body go numb, listening to the most beautiful voice on the Planet that ever existed!
I enjoy these reaction videos the most, you respect the flow of the music to let the song flow without pausing and you listen to how the music makes you feel. That's the great thing about Opera, you don't have to understand what's being said, you go with the flow (so to speak) and feel the emotions as you are swept off on a journey of enlightenment. Great reaction video, thanks for respecting the song too. I prefer reactions after a song rather than during, the flow is essential to the experience you have, and as a viewer i enjoy watching first reactions as i remember my first reaction too and empathise with how you feel, though we all have a unique individally shared experience of the same thing. Cheers.
Even though I have heard this song more times then I can count I always get chills listening to Pavarotti. It always blows my mind to hear people say they hate classical music. I reply "try Pavarotti's Nessun Dorma". I believe my love of music came from my grandmother who was a pianist and classical train vocalist. She would take me to the symphony when I was 5 years old. Now I believe all music genre are important and beautiful.
What you just listened to was the voice of an angel singing with all his heart and soul and passion to transports us to a higher dimension. I don't know the words and I don't need to; he reaches deep down into my soul and enriches it. |'ve heard it probably dozens of time sand it never fails to move me to the edge or tears - and sometimes over the edge.
I just came back to watch this again and did not realize that this was your first time hearing opera. You have put Pavarotti singing Vesti la Giubba" from the opera Pagliacci on your list and, as one person suggested, the English subtitle version would be best to use when you do it. Thanks!
Sarah, I found your channel last week and just subscribed. I enjoyed your reactions to Pavarotti's "Nessun Dorma" (No one sleeps) and "Vesti la Giubba"(Put on the costume), sehr emotional und ehrlich! If you like Pavarotti's singing, perhaps you should do a reaction on each of the following: "E Lucevan le Stelle" (And the stars were shining), "Una Furtiva Lacrima" (A furtive tear) and his version of the song "Caruso". All the best.
He's singing a great opera Turandot that was composed by Puccini . Puccini can make you cry and laugh when he wants. His music holds you with infinite emotions.
Puccini ,who wrote this , was dying of cancer at the time , though he did not know, and never got to finish the opera ,Turandot ,from which this aria is from . The Choir has a large role in the opera and there are some great pieces in it ,and the last music he wrote in act 3 , just before and after Liu commits suicide is some of the most Heart breaking music , He makes the orchestra sound like it is weeping for Liu.
Please Follow this up with his singing "Vesti la Giubba" (Put on the Costume) from the opera Pagliacci (Clowns). A Heart-rending scene by the late great tenor. May Lucianno Pavarotti rest in peace.
This is a LOVE song for a WOMAN ... sung by a MAN in love. The Great Maestro named LUCIANO PAVAROTTI had this incredible ability to touched your SOUL.... using his exceptional VOICE. He usually touched and vibrate the souls of the HUMANS who heard his arias...... and even the ANGELS stopped in fascination just to listen to this miracle voice of a MAN.
Technically this is not even his repertoire as the tenor role of Calaf is fairly monstrous....this Aria is deceptively easy next to the rest of the opera. He had such an amazing voice that he pulled it off though as his interpretation of the role is one of the best, and of course, his concert renditions are almost second to none.
Sarah, as good as this is, I've got something that'll blow your mind. At the 1998 Grammy Awards, Luciano Pavarotti was booked to sing "Nessun Dorma." But at the very last minute the day of the show, he phoned producers and had to beg off because of a throat problem, and his doctor ordered him to rest it. Strapped without anyone to fill the hole in their schedule, and with the orchestra already rehearsed to perform the song, producers scrambled backstage and approached the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. They knew she had performed the song at another show in town earlier in the week, and begged her to step in and fill in for Pavarotti. Despite her handlers strongly urging her not to do it (because the orchestra was rehearsed to play it in a key a bit outside her range), she agreed at the very last minute. What followed absolutely saved the '98 Grammy Awards telecast and made music history. ua-cam.com/video/k33sINjn9o0/v-deo.htmlsi=tGsVeUAvqP6FNgqT
Of you want be really blown away by Pavarotti check out his performance in the opera, "I Pagliacci" singing "Vesti LA Giubba". Try to find the clip with the curtain call. It is superb.
Pavarotti is without doubt one of the greatest tenors that has ever lived and I would recommend you try Andreas Boccelli, the blind tenor - especially his rendition in duet with Bryn Tyrfll of the duet from the Pearl Fishers - beautifull !
This explanation has been taken from the comments section on another reaction channel..."This part is the story of the Princess Turandot and the unnamed Prince who, if she finds out his name before dawn, then he will be executed but if she does not then this will be his victory as she will marry him". Just look at the great man's eyes when he finishes...! Luciano was the greatest tenor who ever lived. RIP Luciano, your legacy will live on for ever. ❤
I love watching people's reactions to this song. Especially when they're emotional halfway through and I'm thinking "Wait until the final high note". Hi from Canada, Sarah!

I am exactly the same, I shed tears every time.
"Nessun Dorma" is literally the most beautiful song written for the male voice. Just amazing.
Listen again and again, and you will never get tired of it. Pavarotti is the best tenor ever. He is a cathedral of singing, perfection, divine. His technic is flawless. He is always focused and transfers all the emotions of the aria, without being himself emotional and losing control. My two favourite Italian Tenors Armando Caruso and Mario Lanza.
He is currently up in heaven, but not resting. God begged him to teach & lead the Celestial choir to give them more power & command with their singing

How true -there is nothing more powerful than the human voice raised in song!!!

From this same concert, listen to the prayer, set to music by Franz Schubert, Ave Maria. Pavarotti, the orchestra and choir deliver uplifting beauty.
