We are tearing a bathroom out and this video has been a good reference. I'm sure I'll play it several times during install. Good video to watch and follow. I like that it was fast without a lot of commentary but clear instructions. Good luck buddy!
Great video lots of good tips. Only wondering about using silicone as a sealer around the drain fitting. Unlikely but if there is any movement ( pipe knocked) then the silcone could partly pull awsy breaking the seal? I would only use the putty as it feels safer. 👍👍 video
Think it would’ve been best to apply the Schlueter membrane with some tile mortar before leveling but probably not a huge deal as the pan is screwed into the studs.
Seems like a straight forward install. Well, you made it look easy. Curious, should the shower pan not tilt a little towards the drain area, to allow water to 'roll' out easily?
I saw all the links in your side notes but not one for the shower pan? What is the size of the pan and who makes it/where to buy it? I need one 36” wide at front with low step-over curb and 42” deep - most have the curb on the long side which does NOT work; this shower pan looks like it may be designed to be custom fitted to whatever orientation one may need. Very good video for reworking/retrofitting a shower pan. Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction.
Hi not the video maker but I have the same pan, 36x60”, we ordered it online from wayfair. It was between $1-1.4K. Comes with the glass walls, swing door and also instructions to install.
Great job. Tile/shower guys are the worst. If you ask insurance companies. Shower failures is very common. Imagine paying $15k -$25k for a shower install and then you have to redo it.

thanks god, you are the only one talking about how deep and far the pipe should go
This video is fantastic, thank you so much! A better solution would be to use waterproof adhesive from the start to avoid any water issues later on.

Thank you for sharing your experience.
I’m glad I could be of help! 🙏🏽😊

It’s easy and you can do it too 👍🏽😊…the pan is already pre-slopped by design along the middle. Sorry I should have videoed the slopped angle.
he doesn't say what the shower pan is, but it looks to have a slope built in ( which is pretty standard)

is there a better Drain system for this types of shower. That drain has multiple points of failure or leaks. Let me know.
Great job 👍

So many problems I don't where to begin
This is how not to install the shower tray
What in the world…
That's a pan, not a base
Just began watching the video. And I understand mistakes were made. But there’s no way he can tie this into a water diversion system.
At the end he said he'll connect the drain from below the floor using the crawlspace. Pretty sure he can replumb the lines from there.
@@VFRExplorer that doesn’t tie it into the walls when water runs done.
@@justin837 You're right. There's no waterproofing that we can currently see that would go behind the tile. Maybe in another video he'll address that.
