I appreciate you leaving in all of the problems you would come across while doing a project like this. Unlike the 3 minute video Home Depot provided that doesn't show you any real world shit all. Great video and thank you.
Bruh. Those big brand instructional vids are nothing but extended marketing materials. They want to make the job look so simple that it only takes a split second to do a pro quality job. It’s all in the name of making you buy their shit lol
Adding a good bead of 100% Silicone caulk under the top drain assembly is my favorite trick to make sure it never leaks. After you screw it down tight just take a paper towel and wipe away any that squeezes out into the sink area. Also, anywhere you have a threaded pipe you should use pipe tape. Very nice video. We were teaching our teen daughter how to change out a sink faucet and this video showed her all the steps perfectly. Don't let your kids move out until they learn basic household repairs.....and how to make toast and boil water so they don't starve in college Lol.
@@lemons_s Teflon tape helps create the seal on tapered threads. But not all threads are tapered threads, if there's something else creating the seal then the teflon doesn't make a difference. In this example the threads weren't making a seal, they're just pushing a tapered piece up into the joint. Another example would be the compression fittings in the flex hoses, the threads don't need tape because they're only being used to push down the compression ring
Nice video thanks for the effort and sharing. Just two notes, need to put a bead of plumbers putty underneath the drain pipe that installs through the top of the sink. When you take it down the putty will squeeze out which will help prevent any leaks, just wipe away the putty that squeezes out with a paper towel. Second, you recommend it to tighten everything as tight as possible. Not a good idea, overtightening plumbing can cause leaks, just get it tight but not as tight as possible. Thanks again bro

@@damiensixone no water at all? Two things might be the problem... 1) did the main valve get turned back on? I do remove the filter from the faucet befor runing any water, so the debries from the angle stops--- closing valves don't clogged it. very well explained thanks.
Great video! Just need to be careful tightness of the plastic parts, they’re easy to break or crack, also some leaks take more than a few second to appear so keep checking hours or days later.
Good video but one positive criticism I always use Plummer’s putty underneath drain seat and faucet seat. Even though instructions say it won’t leak with plastic gasket.
Nice video, was very helpful, especially with unexpected problems, you walked/got through them like a champ, Now, I was going to attempt to change my faucet, but, what do you do when you are not strong enough to get the darn screws off, or even get your body in a great position to maneuver around?
I have installed 6 of these, only have used 100% silicone in 1 case where the sink wasn’t flush to the poppy drain due to mfg defect in sink. And that was years ago , and still doesn’t leak. However I installed the Lowe’s version of this faucet
Excellent video work and straight forward explanation. I wouldn't mind lower volume on background music or none at all. Otherwise I give you a 9 out of 10.
Great, so I snipped a piece off of the horizontal rod, like you did. Now I've got a bigger problem. The new drain body, the big piece that goes down the sink, is about 5 inches shorter than my old one. Ugh!! I'll try to find another video. Thank you for YOUR video!
The faucet he removed was a popular builder B-grade model used a lot in the '70's. I replaced mine about ten years ago and finished an upgrade today. It can be maddening at times.
OK so replaced with a new faucet bc the old dripped and couldn't change out the cartridges so just got a whole new faucet. Now, it only has a small stream of water coming out with both sides wide open. So we took everything apart and retried still just a stream of water. Have great water pressure when not hooked up but horrible when connected. Idk if it's just the faucet or what else to try. Any help please......you can't even wash your hands not enough water comes out.
Should have applied teflon tape at the black threads above and below the overflow drain holes on your new black pipe from the box. You will probably get a leak.
I took the trap off and loosed the nut holding the pipe to the sink. Then I used a pair of vice grips to get ahold of the drain and unthreaded the pipe from the bottom.
Out of curiosity, how did this installation hold up? I was thinking that you should've used teflon tape when reconnecting the P-trap on the wall side, but I don't know for sure whether that's required. Did you ever get any leaks from the drain?
No leaks yet! I could have been lucky with the product quality and fit with my sink. I would definitely use plumbers putty/teflon tape in a couple areas to have more confidence in the longevity of the install if I were to do it again.
Good video. Coincidentally, I bought the exact same faucet today. My only "concern" is that it advises using silicone under the drain flange but you did not do that. (I'm guessing based on other comments that the putty does the same thing?) I guess I'm curious as to whether it is necessary. Based on the same comment, yes?
I may have I gotten lucky with solid manufacturing of my flange and the fit to my sink. I didn't have any leaks and still don't. But based on other comments and reading about it after the install, I'd suggest some plumbers putty just to be safe.
Oh yes! We could definitely be good friends and build a house together. lol. I go at your pace. I m just about to change a set right now. Thanks bro for this vid.
I did not have to change the set. It turns out a plumber saw the leak here at the house determining the true problem. But I have subscribed to your channel. I like your style.
One addition, you might want to use plumbers putty around the sink drain as a seal but looks like you had no leaks so no harm done. Plumbers use it to prevent call backs but I used it in a kitchen sink drain and got a call back as it was not a problem when I left, lol.
Trying to install a countertop water filter up to this faucet that comes with a diverter. and wondering what type of adapter will fit it. I can't seem to find any long female adapters to replace the aerator. I'm a noob and not sure what the heck I'm supposed to do lol. Can anyone help?

There's no need for Teflon tape on those threads you should only need plumbers puddy or caulk to set the sink and make sure it doesn't move
