Thank you so much for your detailed tutorial. I just had a plumber out and he tried to charge me $520 ($468.00 with a discount) just to replace two shut off valves. I checked the price of those valves online and found the same exact ones for $10 apiece. I called him and before I could tell him how much I found them for, he said “I know, $20 for both”. Seriously? He took took another $150 off of my bill, but it wasn’t for the valves. He said the plumber double charged me for labor. That’s an 800% markup for two valves. This just makes me more determined to replace the next valves and faucets myself. It’s a sad greedy world we live in. Thanks to people like you who go online and do DIY‘s. You are saints for the vulnerable.
I could LEGIT hug you!!! First timer over here scared as crap lol and you my friend just gave me courage!!! Thank you for such an amazing step by step video!!
My compliments! Did everything step by step (the drain pipe was a couple inches too long so I used a small blade saw & sander to get it down to size) according to your video and complete success!
Just bought a place with these ugly outdated faucets in the bathroom. I saved this video for when I finally find some new ones to replace them with. Thanks for the tutorial 👍
Looks good except you got the rubber washer/gasket upside down around the 12:00 mark. The cone shaped face of it should be pointed upward, not downward. You can verify this by looking at the old one you removed, plus look at how the washer was oriented on the new drain pipe while you still had it in the wrapper. Otherwise, great video!
I had all copper valves with integrated hoses to the faucet. These were from the 90s I suppose. Had to cut the copper hoses and change the valves to modern valves or 2023 lol
@@diyside Thanks. I bought one too and you're right it looks nicer. I found the two handle option is functionally better because you get precise control over hot and cold water without guessing and adjusting back and forth. It also looks nicer with an aesthetic balance.
Well-done BUT one should ALWAYS wear rubber gloves to prevent skin infections from the garbage in pipes. It is SO easy to scratch your fingers/knuckles on something, then with garbage/gunk infecting said scratch you are asking for BAD infection----
Love how they say "anybody can do it". And then starts puffing all the way. What about an older woman that has no muscles of a younger male? What if this is in powder room with very little space under the sink? What if washers are hard to access and already corroded that is very hard to remove them and certainly not with fingers. Etc, etc ... this is not an easy job, this is why plumbers are in business.

Wow that's crazy. If someone was working for $10 an hour, he or she would have to work for a week to have 2 shut off valves replaced.
This is exactly what DIY videos should be like. Great work!!!!
Thank you David. I appreciate it.
I agree, people take to much time explaining what they are going to do. Just show us lol. Thank you
This is one of the best videos for Moen faucet replacement.
I appreciate it!
Excellent explanation and lighting to see every step. This is how all DIY videos should be to help us fix things ourselves

Congratulations on your new place. Wishing you well in your house updates. It's always satisfying when you get to see the final look.
I depended on this video throughout my change of faucet. He explained it step by step. Great job
Thank you!
You made it look so simple. I think I’m gonna try it. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Awesome video for bathroom faucet replacement.

Wow that feels like a lot of work but I'm glad you were able to do it.
Wow big improvement. It's night and day. Do you think the 2 handle is better than the one handle option?
3 years later it has held up pretty well. I don't know if it's better but It does surely look better than what was there before.

Good job and thank you!

Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it.
Thanks for vids

thanks for the help!

Looks like a Plumber's job if you ask me!
Where did the new supply lines come at 8:45? That part is not mentioned at all in the beginning and its not part of the new box.
I don't remember if I picked those from Amazon with the faucet or the local hardware but I should have mentioned that.

I don't think I'm implying anybody can do it and if you got that then that was not my intention.
Bro use some gloves 😂
Gloves are overrated 😂 thanks though.
@@diyside hey your video helped me fix my faucet, I followed the instructions and didn't wear gloves ether lol
@@IronHorseRider007 I am glad bro. You got to have some scars for the hard work 😂
Yeah no gloves no loves. Nasty but great video otherwise
That classic moen chateau faucet was 100 times better in every way than the modern junk you replaced it with. 🤣
Thanks
That was awesome!
Thanks!
Now I want that faucet
You should get it. Thanks
Great video, thank you.
