    The red Routemaster London bus is a design classic and is packed full of photographic potential. In this video, Gavin Hoey takes on the challenge of shooting some great shots on and around the bus in just 15 minutes. Along the way he has some great photo tips and tricks on getting a great shoot with limited time.
    After the 15 minute photo challenge Gavin jumps in to Lightroom 6 and tries out the all new HDR feature that’s also found in Lightroom CC and Adobe Camera RAW 9.

    Nice photo tour on a classic bus. I was able to ride one on my trip to England years back (top level, of course!). The final black and white image was great!

    you get a better job with only 2 pic's, -2 and + 2 you can get rid of the middle one.
    stays a 32 bit, don't tell me wy it works better but i got this from Scott Kelby, and he got it from the makers.
    Lightroom, select 2 pics, then, photo - photo merge to hdr.
    or CRTL + H = shortcut.

    Great video... Just FYI... From what i know due to size limitation the new lightroom HDR produces a 16 bit dng and not the 32 bit... I confirmed that on adobe website...

      Pratik Shah Good point. It's 16 bit floating point rather then fixed... after that things VERY geeky, very quickly ;)

    Would you ever consider upgrading to a 70D? Adjusting menu settings and checking sharpness is a breeze with the touch screen.

    I understand why he chose the lens, but not understanding camera choice. I personally shoot with the 70d..was a bit surprised to see him pull out the 60d vs the standard 5d mark ii like you typically see pros shootin. Interesting.

      nevermind that comment. that was when i first started shootin anyways.. i could care less what he shoots with now.

    Hey Gavin, I've been wondering: when you go out on a photo shoot to a location like this (whether making a video or just taking photos for fun), what do you do with all the pictures? I mean, when you have dozens or hundreds of photos taken for your own purposes, ie. not for a client, do you keep every picture or do you keep only the ones you like good enough to print? Or do you print the ones you like and then clear them off the drive? Or do you tweak the ones you want and convert to JPG when you're happy with them and then get rid of the bulky raw files? And how do you decide what to keep in archive and what to get rid of? I'm asking because I have well over 10,000 photos of events, my dogs, nature, etc., and they're rapidly filling up my hard drive, and I don't know what to do with them! Some are only JPG from my older camera, and some are only raw or raw+jpg from my 60D (and me being a data packrat doesn't help).

    Nice shots Gavin. How old is this bus?

    • @LindaEnfield
      @LindaEnfield 9 років тому

      The number plate ends with a D so the bus was registered in 1966
