The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.
New GMC Yukon XL looks bolder & more solid, than Suburban. Anyway, i love both. General-Motors did great job. New Suburban, Yukon XL & Escalade ESV are the best full-size SUVs. But, if Ford will start making new Excursion - it will be the largest, roomiest, most powerful & bold looking SUV ever made.
They def should bring excursion back bcus the small exp don’t do nothing in regards of these big suv..just brought my 2021 Yukon home today....sooooo happy
Seems like the GMC is quite a bit more upscale while the Chevy just seems overpriced despite being about the same in cost. The Chevy just feels like there isn’t much difference between the high country versus the ltz, meanwhile the difference between the slt and Denali is much more noticeable.
Looking at purchasing both the 2022 Yukon Denali XL and the 2022 Suburban High Country. The GMC grill is obviously more attractive as is the cockpit interior setup. The seats in the High Country though are much much nicer and more plush and an actual full Napa leather vs the Denali being just leather appointed with a less comfortable seat. Past that they’re virtually the same vehicles.
You want to further complicate things? Throw the Cadillac Escalade in the mix. Then you'll basically have 3 vehicles with only styling and the number of electronic "toys" each has, as the only real difference.
Actually I believe GM never streamlined its brand lineup the way Ford did after 2009. There is no need for both Buick and GMC brands on top of Chevrolet. This confusion made GM waste money and lose the image for Cadillac. Nowadays Cadillac do not sell at all since there was not proper investment in it to give it a proper market appeal instead of wasing money on GMC and Buick. Keep Buick only for China where it sell well!
Ford tried the same thing with Mercury they just weren’t as successful as GM with Buick. The truth is Ford wishes they could do what GM is doing here. GM isn’t wasting money, they’re making it.
I am curious about the new option on the Yukon Denali for the diesel engine. How does it compare to the gas? I know its better for towing but what about every day use to and from work? Thanks.
If you're doing more in town driving, you're gonna get more regenerations and that will hurt in town fuel economy further. If looking for a long range cruiser and fuel economy on trips, can't go wrong with the diesel. Odds are there will be some CELs and other items that pop up ... depends how long you're looking at keeping it. That said, I think I'm leaning toward the diesel.
I’ve always liked the GMC front ends over the Chevys, and I’ve owned a 2004 and 2012 both of which are still on the road daily, but had to go with the Chevy because of price. I’m struggling with the idea of paying for something that would be twice the price of my 2004, for about the same thing!
The previous gen surburban looks way better than this one. Also, having the same three trucks with different branding is dumb, but people are paying them, I guess it says more about the consumer than the manufacturer.
Badge engineering at its best. I don't see the point of paying more for a Yukon/Yukon XL, when it's essentially identical to a Tahoe/Suburban, the differences are minor to justify the higher price tag. Cadillac Escalade is another story, though.
@@SamCarLegion Is the Tahoe not offered in Canada? That’d be interesting if they offer the Yukon in Canada but not the Tahoe, they’re the same vehicle- just like your comparison of these 2 SUVs.
Don't know but my favorite of this trio is the Suburban, including Escalade that except for the screens and taillights every single thing I prefer the Subu..
I find the exterior of the Suburban more of a sleek design while GMC is bulky, plus I don't like the big red GMC logo, in my opinion they should update their logo. Looks like the interior of the GMC gives more of a luxurious feeling than the Suburban. My pick is the Suburban.
Thank you for the nice video. It really helped me a lot. By the way, what I found out was the leather of the Yukon denali and the suburban are slightly different...Denali's look a little bit like the elephant's skin or something because of the pattern. Was the quality and the feeling of the leather a lot different between two trucks? I prefer the exterior of suburban and interior of Yukon denali but I feel like yukon's leather look a little bit old fashioned and tough.. Thank you for the awesome video.
Chevrolet does have a smaller Suburban version it's called Tahoe! Just like the GMC Yukon is identical to the GMC Yukon XL but shorter the same goes for Suburban and Tahoe.
Probably should've reviewed his editing because he kept displaying the wrong vehicle when calling out interior. Left out the suspension features. Lol but if you like the Denali's exterior but prefer the suburban's interior just go Yukon SLT XL 🤣 problem solved.. You're welcome
While Denali s interior definitely looks more luxurious, i don't think it offers anything special in terms of design, it's very conventional, and to be honest a bit outdated. The other yukon s trims (similar interior as Chevy) in fact look more simple and fresh which i personally prefer.
I’ll take the Denali at that price range. For the untrained eye the Suburban is just a suburban that’s it. There are more Suburbans out there which makes you unique if you own a Denali.
Sam CarLegion lol ok the Tahoe has that funny pattern on seats. The Denali shale leather with dark piping on point! The dash of Tahoe looks like a Mazda 3 with that screen sticking up like that. The angle of the shifter is funny. Leaning away from you is not good for toggling. And it’s the same as the lower models?! Thanks 🙂, I do appreciate all the videos you provided, even though we totally disagree.
Really?!? I feel chevy dropped the ball with the interior of the suburban/Tahoe. The previous gen was way nicer. The new one looks like its from a Toyota corolla. Lol. Looks so plasticy, flimsy and cheap materials. The materials and design on denali look far superior, practically perhaps chevy wins. The denali still needed a few better details like refined seats and a all digital cluster though. Looks like the previous gen. Escalade is the only one that GM really put an full effort with imo. But good job man.
I would imagine they are trying to keep the Yukon Denali from creeping too close to the Cadillac in terms of features. The Denali line in like a bump up in luxury from standard and Chevy yet not too close to Cadillac.
Your video is the most worse video I ever seen, it's not clear, you didn't mention about the size capacity... Surbuban is bigger in size than Yukon and the ground clearance is also different. Ford excursion still would have nothing on them
Ford = Budget nothing wrong with budget as long as you are aware they make many compromises. Not the same category
And if Ford did bring back an Excursion with the 7.3 Powestroke Turbo Diesel yes that would be awesome.
My adult kids say no need to call shotgun bcus it’s waaayyy comfortable in the back of my new Denali xl
