One Weekend, Two Races, Masters PBs?

- This past Friday night was the China Grove Main Street Challenge, a historically fast 5k, and Sunday morning was the RAD 10k in Asheville, which had favorable conditions and a large crowd. Having focused so much on marathons and half marathons, I had not set sights on fast 5k and 10k times since before I entered the Masters (40+) age bracket. So I set out to set Masters PRs in those distances (if not lifetime PRs). And I took a couple of my top racing shoes for the ride. See how it went!

Congrats on your 5k race execution. Superb stuff! Shame about the 10k but, to be fair on yourself, it is difficult to back up so soon after such a super fast 5k. Enjoyed your feedback on the shoes too. Great vlog. Thanks.

Bonjour Captain lol …don’t know why I missed this one 🧐…didn’t have the notification or maybe a just thought to watch it later and forgot it …congrats for your master 1st place 💪💪👏👏👏🔥… i’d never ran a 5k … I did 19mn03 in a 10k (38’35")in 2021 but 5ks in France are not as popular as 10ks … there’s no 5ks around my house I think but I’d like to try one on my own … so thx for the “bonjour” 🤣…. I’m registered for Paris 20k (30000runners, I’m starting in the pref1 wave just behind the Elites 👏👏👏🔥💪🤣, on the 13th of October … this will be my kind of “mid goal” before Paris2025. And maybe a local 10k with my company 1 week after the 10k just to try to be under 40mn lol will see … cheers buddy 🔥🇫🇷🇺🇸💪🤣 love my edge Paris but I try to keep them fresh for Paris 😄
20k is a very uncommon race distance! Especially in the US! I think most events would just as soon be a half marathon than a 20k. I have run a couple of 25ks though. Bon chance!
@@thecaptainchas2820 yeah I don’t know why it’s a 20k and not a HM lol but it’s a world athletics race, very famous here. Will see 💪🤣
Great racing and congrats on your times! But I'm just here for the shoe talk really 😅 Really wanna buy the Sky Paris having loved the Sky v1 at 600km but out of stock here everywhere in UK. Holding out for a new colourway which you'd think ASICS would pump loads by now with the Olympics getting closer and closer and same goes with the Alphafly 3 but I already have the Proto colourway so I'm okay for now I guess 😂
Thanks! Yeah, I’ve seen leaks of a bright neon yellow colorway with red accents (similar to Magic Speed 4) coming down the line. I’d like it if they had something in blue.
