Thanks so much for sharing. Even though I can't say I'm particularly part of your community although I'm also originally black African, I've had and still have quite a few physical and mental challenges such as anxiety which I too have learnt not to be apologetic about and also create space and boundaries for. This has helped me a lot. Learning more about myself and I've become very much less a people pleaser. Putting myself first when necessary without being apologetic or guilty but at the same time sympathising and being empathic where I need to. I hope I'm making sense? In a nutshell we need to take care of ourselves in order to take care of others 💚
Wishing you all the best and stay beautiful inside out! 😻

You are so sweet! Thank you so much for this comment and I am glad to hear that you are also learning to be kinder and less apologetic of your nature and needs friend❤️🌱🍀

As a fellow black female HSP, I can totally relate to your experiences.
I have travelled and lived in many countries alone ( Spain and Lisbon😜) worked in open spaces. I also speak 5 languages.
I did so many things that many do not do so yes, being a HSP doesn't equate to weakness.
The most challenging is finding the right partner 😊.
Thank you for sharing your story ❤
Ps: You are so naturally beautiful.

Are...you...mee??? haha Thank you for sharing that with me! I love to learning of about the lives of other black female HSPs. And yes, I am learning that it does not take away from my courage and strength and abilities - I do look forward to one day being fully unapologetic about it and fully embrace it

Ahahahah, I may be but, I am older than you so you are me, lol.
Being a black woman and a hsp came with lots of challenges since my childhood. I am the most sensitive in my family and still am. Imagine being a sensitive soul in an African household?
I had more than my fair share of problems such as panic attacks and depression until I started to learn about my trait.
I am in my early forties and discovered the term hsp in 2010.
The most challenging part for me, has been building solid relationships because I was seen as weird, spiritual etc... and attracting toxic partners.
I have since changed a lot by setting boundaries and also by being extremely conscious on how I interact with people since I had the tendency to people please.
I talk about my sensitivity more openly and own it despite people's reactions.
My sensitivity help me with :
      reading a room.
Having a strong intuition (but can be wrong sonetines)
      Feeling energies and people
      Having compassion
      Being wise
      Loving Nature and Humans
Being authentic and real with myself and others
      Giving advise
      Etc...
      Hope this help
      Take care😊

At first it was hard deciding what I wanted to do, career wise, because I was trying to figure it all out at once. This was so difficult, things weren't so clear and as a result I ended up not doing anything. But I'm also learning that one step at a time is the way to go, at least for me. I resonate highly with your words. I'm learning to trust my journey, trust my self. Just one step at a time, one foot in front of the other.
You're back in Denmark? That's amazing, I have some family there, hope this summer brings you joy and fun! 😊

Hey Cynthia, I can totally understand and I think it is because we are taught early on to have our whole life mapped out after high school and it makes no sense for many of us. We are always becoming and finding ourselves one step at a time and I think it only makes sense to have a similar approach to our work/career or any which way we decide to make a living ❤ - I wish you the best on your journey!❤
And yes, I am currently back home in DK and how small of a world!
Wishing you a lovely summer on your end as well!

I really wanted to share this life update with you as a reminder to me and you, to trust where we are, who we are and where we feel drawn to go to next. One step and choice at a time. I hope to one day help in the creation of a world that welcomes more speeds than just fast, more directions than only the straight lines. That welcomes more sensitivity and space for introspection and unique ways towards finding and creating our own paths in life. Life is for all of us, we all get a say in how we want to be here. ALSO, HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!
