I lived in Venice, Florida for 20 years and loved it so much but left in 2020 because of all the hurricanes. I hope everything will be alright there and pray that everyone is safe. I am in Charlotte,NC now. Thank you for this report.
I live three blocks from where he was reporting from. I didn't have a drop of surge. This isn't Venice, it's Nokomis. Even a couple of feet of elevation made a difference. The properties west of US 41 took it hard. East of 41 not so much.
In spite of everything said & cautioned, the guy in the house, seeing water coming in, wants to stay? Then like in other storms, he's in his attic or on the roof wanting emergency personnel to rescue him? I know from seeing reports he's far from the ONLY ones. If he's not worried about leaving, why should this reporter get his phone number just in case? Why also should out emerg. personnel be risking their- at least - physical health by having to rescue these people when the hurricane subsides? I do hope these idiots are charged financially for their rescues. No reason why they should be stranded.
@@bobbylewisjr5250 What I'm saying is that evacuation suggestions/ orders were given a day or 2 BEFORE the hurricane hit. IF they used common sense & evacuated- either him or his family - this wouldn't be a problem! This goes for all the people staying in their homes. Yes, the news team may've saved his/ their lives, but, especially when offered assistance from them & he didn't want it, to me, whatever comes will come. And I'm sorry if you think I'm evil. It's one thing if something's sudden, another if there's advanced warning.

Love and prayers from Canada 🇨🇦
Oddly enough, I'm here in Niagara Falls from New Orleans. I know a thing or two about hurricanes. My prayers are to the Floridians....
God bless you all and your pets.
Be safe everybody! 🙏🏻
