been in the game over 35 years and im not that arrogant to think i know it all and this video proves that ,like they say you learn something new everyday Zigg,1st day startin my apprenticeship i was surrounded by XA Falcons and HQ Holdens and i thought replacing top and bottom ball joints on that XA with a air chisel to get then factory rivets out was a big deal ,nowdays we are cuttin cylinders on a 6litre ,times are changin mate with all these electric and hybrid vehicles too ,best auto channel in Australia lovin the content
Yeah things sure have changed in my almost 40+ years in the game...Not many repairs any more...More like replacement of parts...Shame really....Cheers Pete.
I've heard about this. , wife bought a VF SS v. Wagon. Automatic. 2014 , hasn't got the AFM badges so hopefully it hasn't got it. I never liked this idea, tried Rhoads lifters once and killed the cam. I've warned the wife to get the AFM turned off before anything happens. It's only don't 75k so best be careful. Thanks for showing what happens, maybe she will listen .
Fark, makes Matt's problem seem trivial lol. I'm stoked cos I'm sittin here watchin this with me brother and as soon as I saw the condition of the tip of that valve, I assured him the cam was fucked. I'd have to watch it again though to see if it was even on a shagged lobe? Cheers mate.
Hi mate . I was watching your video about the broken bolt on a cam idler on the vw Amrock. We have a similar problem and would like to put a new belt on to try it . If the crank is on its make can the cam be 360 degrees out. How do i know when to put the pin in the cam? Hope u can help
@@ziggassedup honestly, I don't know but one of my neighbors had one , they loved it but I heard that some didn't really work too well. it would run on 8,6 or4 according to the conditions.
Yup that lifter bought the farm for sure
Game over....Cheers Ant.
i guess for 300k its not so bad, i have heard horror stories re DOD and cams, now i get to see it, thanks for the video.
A mystery no longer..Cheers mate.

Last lifter and lobe are rooted Vic...I've seen plenty of this...Cheers mate.
Never seen a rocker or valve spring that dry before...And that lobe lol...
Yeah...Unusual for sure...Cheers Mark.
Good job mate
She’s toast for sure…..
I wonder how long they had before the Cam lobe got wiped out
Well that last lobe was already injured so it was on borrowed time no doubt...Cheers mate.

I did a number of vids on that Amorock belt...I can't quite enplane but the vids will very comprehensively...Hope they help.
everything is getting so complicated any more,, it looks like that engine is similar to the north star Cadillac engine.
Wasn't that engine an OHC.?
