Ovación y vuelta al ruedo para estos dos maestros del piano boogie-woogie. El amigo Jools Holland no es que sea manco, precisamente, pero el buen Doctor me mata, con su flema pasmosa: ¡esas manos... llenas de dedos!

This is really just awesomely spectacular. And compare Dr John's style with Jools Holland's: Jools is frantic, looking like he's barely in control, which makes sense given the style of music. Meanwhile Dr John is producing the same music and yet barely looks like he's moving his hands. Watch any performance of his and it's the same - the economy of movement is extraordinary.
I thought Jools was in danger of ruining it with his manic, over-showy playing.

Oh my holy poopnuggets.. My two all time favorite pianists, playing THIS! I've got such a case of goosebumps, it's almost painful.
Unfreaking believable, talent like this brings a tear to my eye. Nothing like boogie woogie played by a master(s) to get you going. Ive always been so envious of this kind of talent, but respectful as well - you dont learn this kind of skill over night. Takes years of dedication and focus, and the amount it takes to play at this level earns so much respect, they did the work and had the talent, and thank God they share it with us.
Three hand boogie woogie, peerless. Jools Holland is absolutely on the crest of the scale here. They are so talented. I play and I am in awe of their duetted majesty
When I walk up on the stairway to heaven, I surely hope Jools Holland is there to make me boogie woogie all the way up till I get to heavens door and when I open up the door , Would love to see Dr John accompany Jools Holland as I Boogie Woogie dance into heaven :)

Jools is the best pianist full stop. Classical pianists are fabulous and generally the best but Jools is a 'natural' phenomenon and probably the best pianist to touch a keyboard, ever. I am not one for hero worship but .... hats off to Jools.

I saw that 11 year old Shane Thomas playing Boogie Woogie, stride piano etc.. and almost fainted. If only Jools could agree to have that kid on his show, that would stun the entire nation. He's not just an amazing classical composer as people imagine.

Dr John wins. His playing is more relaxed, plus Jools just repeats the same triplets over and over again. Still amazing playing by both but Dr John has to win no doubt in my mind.

I love watching and listening to Holland play and live he's great and very generous to other musicians.
He himself, is very self deprecating about his ability and has said that there are piano players who's technique aren't as good as his, who have more in the way of soul..
I very much doubt that he'd agree that he's the "single best piano player in Britain," great though he is. ;O)
Doctor John has the groove in his molecules. He had to vary his time a bit to stay with Jools hold the piece together, but before that, the Doc's solos are dead-on-time with the rhythm. I'm a guitar player, and our breed is notorious for rushing and dragging to get their solos to work. This is a very nice performance, dressed up like the cover of Dr John's Gumbo album--minus the big red bandolier sash and the Yudda's Yummy Hot Dogs / Hamburgers stand...

It´s not a "Four-hands boogie woogie" but a boogie woogie for two pianos, and they have drums and bass. A "Four-hands boogie woogie" is played on one piano!
For a guy who started his solo recording career with a 78 rpm record, he's done well

I reckon Jools would play this better these days. He's still great, but Dr John's right hand is certainly better. If there's such a thing as a better hand. But Jools is quite young here isn't he.
