Even tho Francis is gone. Chef is still here and going strong. I feel like Chef is like my Japanese mom. She seems like such a loving and caring person. Reminds me of when i watch Maangchi. Maangchi is my Korean mom and Chef is my Japanese mom. Both very loving and caring souls. Who share their love of cooking and eating which is lovely. I hope we can see for a long time. Francis was adorable but its OK because its the circle of life... Much love to chef i enjoy watching your cooking a lot.

I sure do miss Francis but he lives on forever in my heart! Chef reminds me of my great grandmother. I hope she takes that as a compliment. Grandma had a poodle that looked like Francis too and funny enough grandma's name was Francis and we called her Grandma Franny 🥰
I grew up watching Chef and Francis when I was little but my great grandmother passed when I was quite small. I'm always very pleased to rewatch old videos here and to see new videos still coming with Chef. Thank you so much for many good childhood memories and new memories. My mom was a single working mother and tried to teach me to cook but did not have much time to do so. Chef and Francis were a big help though! Making Omurice for my husband and toddler tonight for good nostalgic meal 🥰 I hope they like it.

RusHetaFan Interesting that you say this. Normally japanese servings are actually quite a bit smaller than western servings, and it's quite obvious to see for westerners who visit and eat in Japan. I traveled there for a summer and actually often had to order two meals, because one was not enough. And I'm a healthy weight mind you, and at the time I wasn't insanely active (I'd jog a couple times a week and lift weights, but I wasn't like Michael Phelps or anything).
I wonder if chef altered portions this way? Or are you a very light eater?

I always wondered what omurice is and how to make it ever since I watched Kaichou wa Maid-sama (an anime) and also since I've been currently reading the manga. Thanks so much for doing this dish, I will for sure try it out! I'm so glad Chef is doing well, I hope she makes a full recovery soon! I'd suggest doing a simple rice ball tutorial. I see you have many complex versions and remastered ones too, but I'd like to do a simple one with rice, nori, and filling (eel, salmon, plum, etc.). Thanks~!

Its really enjoyable to see Japanese people do things, they're really serious, concentrating to the job and done it well. I just don't have that passion to pay attention that long ahaha

My boyfriend decided to try this recipe and we both loved it! And this is coming from someone that doesn't like tomato stuff in my food. In fact, this is now one of my favorite foods. c:
    Thank you chef and Francis!

The style of omurice that kichi kichi made popular is very impressive but this is very classic.

I am not really a fan of the blurred edges because it makes the video look smaller and closed. But I am very happy to hear that Chef is doing better.
