It is interesting a Japanese take on a western dish. Over here we would have panfried the meat and then used the same pan to make the sauce. The fond in the bottom of the skillet is liquid gold to a western cook. I haven't had a hamburg steak in years. Now that sounds good.

Ok, so this is basically what most meatloaf wants to be and isn't. If you don't like the average meatloaf in the west, TRY THIS! This is what meatloaf is supposed to taste like and it's AMAZING!
I definitely think if you're going to serve hamburger as a normal dish instead of a sandwich, stewing it is a great idea. it doesn't exactly 'work' to me as a simple steak on a plate..

You can use regular canned tomatoes.🍅😋 Some people suggested that canned tomato doesn't sound good so we called it packaged boiled tomato. Sorry for the confusion.🙇♂️

You can omit them. It won't change the taste a lot. Mushrooms are more for texture than flavour in a dish like this.

flavorwise, I would say a dash of soy sauce or a sprinkle of msg. texture you're kinda on your own, nothing is like mushrooms that I can think of.
