0:58 holy shit this unlocked a BIG memory i remember seeing these recipes and trying them out multiple times and always being disappointed after lol but i never gave up hope XD
Thank God for the 4 dudes who actually did their jobs and were passionate enough to not let the game die. Would've been easy to become lazy/give up knowing the game was probably coming to an end and you'd be on RS3 again soon.
I terracing video, as always! I do find the initial concept of having rare tradable items as clue scroll rewards, though. That way, rare items would have maintained some form of monetary value. A missed opportunity, perhaps.
I feel like they should have integrated RS3 and OSRS, and made it so you could trade your RS3 partyhats into OSRS partyhats. Have like a swap system in place. That would keep the items as ‘rares’ and probably even increase the price of the rares too
Remember this like it was yesterday I was training at rock crabs and a Blue H ween spawned picked it up and idk why but my 1st reaction was to tele as fast as I could to the duel arena because in my mind thats where all the rich people were and I ended up selling the blue for 6m cash
I found my purple phat near the draynor farming patch when they had random spawns all around the map, i was so happy and didnt even know they were in the game so i freaked out a bit 😀 Sold it for like 5m
Honestly, my dream of owning a phat without having to sacrifice an arm and a leg was fulfilled. The reason i log back in every once in a while to bask 8n its glory.
I remember the polls going up for this, I voted for them to be released once and never again. However, the polls turned it to the yearly obtainable. You guys were saved from the likes of me.
I think one of OSRS' problems is it's quite daunting for new players. It's extremely expansive and the vast majority of the game is quite the grind, and with most of it being locked behind a membership subscription, people on the fence play a little bit and see it as buying a membership to work
Thats why there needs to be another 07 reset, this time no updates, just pvp minigames and tournaments. The 07 without ge is the best version. The 2007 version of the game doesn't have too much or too little disparity in player knowledge
when phats dropped in osrs for the first time i sold my purple in rs3 and transferred it all over for about 100m. huge regrets since i now main rs3 again but eh, atleast was top iirc 100 when i got 99 prayer after phats crashed
the only skil;l that should be added to osrs if any is summoning because it was released at the tail end of 07 early 08 which fits into the nostalgia factor.
I'm trying to get my account back (Last time I played must have been before 2010). I got the bunny ears. Would this mean if I logged into runescape classic I wouldnt have it anymore and only on the new version??
Jagex didn't want to to admit that the best thing for their company was a 10 year roll back of their current IP, because that would mean they have wasted billions on bullshit ideas.
so weird how complicated they made the debate about rare items.. literally all they had to do is just adopt the same exact release schedule as when the original rare items were released and do that.. i.e. holiday items released during their respective holiday on year 1, year 2, etc etc..
I logged into osrs to kill goblins to buy a phat from the ge for 21 gp. That shit isnt possible in rs2/rs3. Now I can say i own a phat for the first time in my 16 years.
So I got a question, my account Zangpakto, from 2006/2007, is it possible to get it back somehow and if so how... it's the second oldest account of mine with my username, only have one other account older and would like to get that one back, dont care if zero'd out, don't care if all items gone, but that one account logged in from user not email means a lot to me...
Never got that whole needing 75% approval to change things and still dont get the 70%. It just makes it way harder for the "Yes's" to actually win and also makes 1 yes vote worth less then 1 no vote and that isnt fair. It should be 51% to pass thats the least amount needed for a majority. The whole idea is that whatever the majority of players want will dictate whats in the game right?
I get the idea but I disagree. I think if the community is split enough to be essentially 50/50, it doesn’t need to be in the game. I think jagex made a great choice ensuring things polled and added are only things the majority likes/agrees on. Some stuff suffers and we miss out, but I think we’ve made out overall because of it.
"Don't say something unless you absolutely know you can say it." Idk why you're acting like this is an absurdly authoritarian statement lmfao I feel like everyone should live by this motto.

0:58 holy shit this unlocked a BIG memory i remember seeing these recipes and trying them out multiple times and always being disappointed after lol but i never gave up hope XD
Seeing ice poseidon lead that train at 14:50 is honestly just peak nostalgia 😂
I'm happy they work as they do. discontinued items were a mistake and are REALLY fucking up the economy in RS3 now
I remember killing green dragons and a red party hat spawned out of nowhere, sold it for 2m on zybezz which was a lot back then
Thank God for the 4 dudes who actually did their jobs and were passionate enough to not let the game die. Would've been easy to become lazy/give up knowing the game was probably coming to an end and you'd be on RS3 again soon.
IcePoseidon leading the charge at 14:50 is poetic.
Lolol
Let's not forget the 50bots on each spawn hopping worlds. That was the player count boost
ugh.. i hated bots so much, especially the spamming ones..
I terracing video, as always! I do find the initial concept of having rare tradable items as clue scroll rewards, though. That way, rare items would have maintained some form of monetary value. A missed opportunity, perhaps.
I so wanted to watch one of your videos rn, nice surprise to see on my feed :)
Hope you enjoyed it!
I feel like they should have integrated RS3 and OSRS, and made it so you could trade your RS3 partyhats into OSRS partyhats. Have like a swap system in place. That would keep the items as ‘rares’ and probably even increase the price of the rares too
I swear I remember having a scythe in RS Classic though... Like back when it was just RuneScape.
Remember this like it was yesterday I was training at rock crabs and a Blue H ween spawned picked it up and idk why but my 1st reaction was to tele as fast as I could to the duel arena because in my mind thats where all the rich people were and I ended up selling the blue for 6m cash
0:10 nightmare zone blunt rotation
I got a Scythe on my RS3 account. Had a phat back in classic but was dumb and thought they'd drop in price so sold it.
I feel like his recollection of events are complete opposite of how I remember it
I thought additional and new content saved the game from dying out back in 2015 like zeah and raids according to your previous video on this topic.
Zeah sort of did the opposite for a while. On release it was considered a pretty massive failure, but they later made it great.
I found my purple phat near the draynor farming patch when they had random spawns all around the map, i was so happy and didnt even know they were in the game so i freaked out a bit 😀
Sold it for like 5m
i miss how much love they used to put into holiday events
Honestly, my dream of owning a phat without having to sacrifice an arm and a leg was fulfilled. The reason i log back in every once in a while to bask 8n its glory.
*ashes and red bead on ground*
“Is that a Santa hat on the ground?!”
Omg, that just brought back such a core memory haha. I thought the same thing every time
hey colonello, can you do a video about how ironman effects the normal game economy and how effective is iron man for the long run
They should of left the combat system alone pre eoc. That was peak runescape. RS2
Does anyone know what Colonello is wearing in the shots of his character? I really want to know what it is. Thanks if you reply!
late response but it's a black phat, black graceful, amulet of fury with the blood shard thingy and max cape i think
@@TheRodrigoMinecraft alr thanks
As someone thats new to the game, this is a very interesting video
Thank you!
I remember the polls going up for this, I voted for them to be released once and never again. However, the polls turned it to the yearly obtainable. You guys were saved from the likes of me.
They shouldve did yearly- semi yearly release with minigames event like the treasure hunter event, so they would still have a value of around 500k-5m
The 2007 version of the game doesn't have too much or too little disparity in player knowledge
kinda sounds like GWD was Goku and the holiday items were the rest of the Z fighters - they were just buying time until the real hero showed up
godwars hype was the reason for this, only active players liked that it didnt bring anyone back
I wish I was around to acquire any of this stuff years ago
when phats dropped in osrs for the first time i sold my purple in rs3 and transferred it all over for about 100m.
huge regrets since i now main rs3 again but eh, atleast was top iirc 100 when i got 99 prayer after phats crashed
the only skil;l that should be added to osrs if any is summoning because it was released at the tail end of 07 early 08 which fits into the nostalgia factor.
Summoning is a big pile of garbage just like the grand exchange
Didn't even have the bell rung and here I am what's good
I'm trying to get my account back (Last time I played must have been before 2010). I got the bunny ears. Would this mean if I logged into runescape classic I wouldnt have it anymore and only on the new version??
Seeing the ocean of people selling things in those clips brings me back ❤
Pre ge ❤
I can't believe they didn't belive osrs would work when so many people liked the old style better
Jagex didn't want to to admit that the best thing for their company was a 10 year roll back of their current IP, because that would mean they have wasted billions on bullshit ideas.
They will need to do another rollback in a few more years.. hopefully another 07 reset
Checking to see if my girl/mom/grandma are in the Comments... this man slays and is daddy
Bro said strap in like I haven’t been on a week binge
i wish rares were actually rare lol.
so weird how complicated they made the debate about rare items.. literally all they had to do is just adopt the same exact release schedule as when the original rare items were released and do that.. i.e. holiday items released during their respective holiday on year 1, year 2, etc etc..
this game needs golden masks
I logged into osrs to kill goblins to buy a phat from the ge for 21 gp.
That shit isnt possible in rs2/rs3. Now I can say i own a phat for the first time in my 16 years.
i talked with a JMod once back in edgeville 2011.. Wish i could remember their name
"I'm herrasing British people on twitter" 😂
Great video bro
Glad you enjoyed!
Honestly? Rares on the rare drop table is kinda fun.
Where can I see that whole map of player count with overlays of different things released
If you Google “OSRS player count update graph” it should show up :)
Your videos are very interesting.
14:51 - Trihard Cx
They should have made from a 1/10000 from everything lol
They 100% would have easily survived without the rares
Some stuff suffers and we miss out, but I think we’ve made out overall because of it.
they'd never have gotten anywhere near as expensive as they did the first time. people would've hoarded the shit out of them.
Holy shtttt Syndicate streaming Osrs is a takeback
2:42 to skip the ad.
this game needs discontinued rare items
There needs to be another 07 reset
Items that people want just because they are rare. Might as well buy bored ape NFTs.
So actually GWD saved osrs
True! But without rares we may not have made it long enough to see it get released :)
I remember the April 1st thing
"Don't say something unless you absolutely know you can say it." Idk why you're acting like this is an absurdly authoritarian statement lmfao I feel like everyone should live by this motto.
