- Tadej Pogačar has a chance to win 3 Tour de France yellow jerseys before turning 25. He's currently in a battle with Jonas Vingegaard in the 2023 Tour de France. Both look to be the top of their game! So the question remains, what makes Pogacar so good? Can he be beaten? And is this all too good to be true? 😅🤣
I'm so fucking dumb, I did exactly that, went for a bike ride and got 14 PB's on Strava!
Just a little correction, Gianetti is Swiss, not italian.
The difference between the two is that if Pogacar gets dropped he loses a minute +, if Vingegaard gets dropped it’s about seconds.
We’ve seen this in this years tour too.
watching this after vingegaard took 1.38 out of pogacar at stage 16, he sure did count on the time trail. there no chance that pogacar is winning this now
Watching this a day later again 😅
@@beast667 Rumor has it that this Saturday, Jonas will start 15 minutes later than the peloton. He will do the first 100 kilometers on his time trial bike to catch up with the others.
Watching this on the second rest day, Pogi really needs to smash the stage 16 TT if he wants to win. I've never seen a Tour with the main protagonists so evenly matched. It's an amazing race to watch. A privilege really. This quality is a rarity.
Well..
Lol
Hrm ...
:D
He did actually smash it. But vingegaard was just on another level taking almost 3 minutes to 3rd place on a 30 minute TT... Just Ridiculous!
Definitely don’t underestimate having a partner that shares your passion and encourages you to pursue it!
Absolutely, balance is key!
Like last year Jonas Vingegaard is just on another level in the last week. I don't think Tadej can beat him in a Grand Tour, if they both go for it 100%. All other races that dont go on for 3 weeks, Tadej is probably better.
This aged well 😂
I came back to laugh at this video: Jonas just DEMOLISHED Pog in the ITT today. Yeah Pog will still win. GOOOOOOD LUCK with that.
The last week will be decisive, and I think Jonas is stronger in long way.
They're just 9 seconds apart after today's stage, this is insane!
Who do you think wins?
@@TrueSportsLoreI just finished the video, I think that if Pogi's within a minute going into stage 20, he'll take it, otherwise Jonny will have it. Eitherway this is a fantastic fight!

@@universesays1842 because jumbo is the most professional team in the world. Also why are you saying Vingegaard was inconsistent? He was a youngster who had to learn, of course he was inconsistent. And all athletes become more consistent after their first major achievement, you can see that in any sport. You are clearly a Pogacar Fan, otherwise you would also criticize that Pogacar has a few guys with doping history in his team
He just needs to sit on Vingeegard wheel and win the Tour with time bonuses. It's Vingeegard who has to drop Pogacar at least one other time to win.
The time trial will make all the difference
Exactly
Jonas Vingegaard is the 2023 champ.
Pogacar is number 2 - Jonas Vingegaard is the Champ of the future !
Boy this didn't age well😂
Your predictions seem to be questionable. Now, 5 days later, Vingegaard is more than 7.5 minutes ahead of Pogačar
Watch our other video too :)
He actually won 3 different monuments. He won flanders this year as well.
Yeah the voiceover is wrong but the graphic is right, our bad!
Thank u for the quality videos. Ur now my most watched cycling channel, after Rifianboy (no new uploads) 😂😅
Thank you that's the best compliment. We wish Rifian uploaded more
I think Pogacar's form is too consistent throughout the year to consider he is doping, unless you suggest he is doping in every single race even the insignificant ones which would be stupid and he would be caught by now he is constantly there or thereabouts
He seems to be a freak of nature.
Throughout the whole history of cycling, you still believe a champion breaking all records and speeds is down to nutrition and advances in tech? Yep, it's the usual story. Accept the truth, enjoy the show.
7w/kg for 20 minutes. Doing 16 mph up 12% totally natty
@@iann23 yeah but what kind of doping could it be that it doesn't show on testing and no one knows about it and no one's even suspicious, not even old TDF hands?
Indeed. Even I can't do this.
Jonas is not losing a lot of time when pogi attacks, that is good news for him. On the other hand, every time pogi decided to attack, Jonas was never able to close on him. That's good news for pogačar.
It's been fascinating to see, both super strong so far, both super tactical as well, it'll be crazy when they decide to unleash their true pace.
Tadej never dropped vingegaard more than 20 sec or am i wrong ? He wins only on bonus seconds but it doesnt Seem enough
Let’s see what Pogi can do in the high mountains on stage 17. I suspect Jonas will destroy him as he always does when they go above 2000 meters.
I mean Vingegaard came back 2 days ago after Pogacar attacked…..
He dropped him 3 times. He's attacked over 20 times
@@squiglemcsquigle8414 what did i tell u ? He is built different

We did, this is the other perspective!
Balanced analysis
You're wrong. The stage Jonas aims is the col de la loze one
Now for the next 3 days, every day can be the day the Tour is won or lost either for Pocacar or Vingegaard
The time trial will be all deciding
@@TrueSportsLore My guess is that the race will be done way before the TT... Both Tadej and Jonas are phenomenal in TT but they mostly work on motivation. If one or the other has more than a minute lead, the second won't be able to deliver his best performance.
@@sabertoothmeowsiecause you can't attack or answer attacks in time trial. It just comes down to who has the better legs. Also stage 17 - 19 and 21 are flat or hilly stages, so there will be no battle between them. The only stage that can be decisive after stage 16 is stage 20.
And now? This did not age well.
This didn't age well after today's TT
Downhill finish tomorrow. I like Pidcock's chances at the stage win if he can stay close up the last climb. If it rains tomorrow, there's always a chance of crashes as well.
This aged really well
what you don't talk about is what cost does Tadej pay for that few seconds? Upcoming long climbs wil suit Jonas better.
They don't talk about it because they're clearly biased and in favor of Tadej. Only talking about his strengths but not his weaknesses.
You miss the biggest point: pogacar didn’t train as wanted for this yrs tour, wrist. In the last few days of the tour the q is: does his lack of prep mean he fades? History shows that non prepped athletes fade in the tour.
We will see what happens, maybe he can overcome that issue.
Well, that prediction, didn't go to plan did it...Tadej Pogacar may be able to TT, but this year Jonas Vingegaard did the TT of his life. Im a big JV fan, and that TT was literally a superhuman effort. I know we are all thinking the same thing "was it a Lance Armstrong superhuman effort"? Only time will tell, but for the sake of the sport I hope it wasn't.
In the real big climbs Vingegaard is miles ahead, but if Tadej can focus on getting better on long climbs he can maybe beat vingegaard next year. Hats off for his performance this year with many stage wins, and what a fun tour to watch this year.
What's more impressive about Tadej Pogacar, is that he seems to have progressed a lot this year : when he attacks in a climb, he systematically put a gap between him and Jonas Vingegaard who has no interest to give up few seconds every now and then... He looks mentally stronger than his opponent and to have a real grip on his team. I won't be surprised if tomorrow or the day after he blows the race up and leave Vingegaard 2 or 3 minutes behing in a single stage.
He has a different level of composure, you're right. He doesn't give up after 5 seconds of all out attack.
Yeah he realized last year it’s granted and he needs to do his homework.
@@faubourglincolnjonas is better at long grueling climbs, we’ll see about that 2-3 minutes.
@@THExBLAZEx88yea they all love pogacars attacks that makes vingegaard lose seconds but when Jonas attacks today or the coming stages in the alps pogacar Will lose minutes😂
Clearly you don't seem to know anything about Jonas and Tadej's strengths and weaknesses.
Eh... don't know...he looks stronger but one bad day can f*ck everything. That goes to Jonas as well of course. But to say that either of them will win for sure would be a bit premature at this point.
I tend to agree with this assessment. We shall see, but this seems the most plausible potential eventuality to the 2023 Tour de France conclusion.
Yeah, 7 minutes. No way he's gonna clutch this
9 days ago from this same channel: Why Jonas Vingegaard Will WIN the Tour de France 2023
Well played. Get them views lol
If Pogacar wins the 2023 tour, it will be considered the biggest come-from-behind win in the tour's history since LeMond came from behind to win in 1989.
I think Jonas will win.
Jonas is wearing Tadej down after 2 weeks in TdF
Jonás Vingegaard entered the chat
There is a difference between the dominance of Lance, Froome and others ending and Pogacar in 3 years. AGE. Poggy is riding the white jersey, he has 10 more years to go before slowing down
We said that about Peter Sagan too but he started to fade early. This could be different!
@@TrueSportsLore you yourself explained the difference between them. I would also mention GC climbers hit their peak much later, Froome won his first tour at 28, later 30-32. Nibali also at 29 his first tour. Contador at 25 and 27. Gerain Thomas at 32. Cadel Evans 34, and so on
Well yes the main difference is that Pogacar’s success is apparently all down to zone 2 training. If you believe his doctor…..sorry I mean ‘coach’.
@@philstannard5563 could you explain to me what that means?
@@wittehaai3847 in professional cycling history has shown us that when something looks too good to be true, it usually turns out to be so. Even if it takes several years for it come out.
And I’m not just talking about Pogacar. The performance of both him and Vingegaard up the Joux Plane this afternoon beggar belief. Haven’t seen anybody make that climb look so easy since Landis in 2006. And we all know what happened there (and if you don’t, then go look it up).
Looks like your way out of luck now. Jonas just KILLED pogi to day, your claim the pogi is stronger just got destroyed to. 1:38min in the TT. Thats power from Jonas!!
well this title aged like a fine wine KEKW
Ok, now do "Why will Jai Hindley win the Tour de France 2023"
Haha bet
Commenting on this after Jonas Vingegard won the 2023 Tour de France, Jonas demolished Tadej with a final large time gap of almost 8 minutes. Jonas also did an incredible time trial effort that showed he is the stongest rider and can win without Primo, Sepp, and Wout's help. Jonas also has a VO2 max on the same level as Miguel Indurain. Hearing Tadej say "I'm done. I'm dead" is so heartbreaking for Tadej fans.
Longer stages are yet to come favouring Jonas.
Which stage do you see him taking more time?
@@TrueSportsLore tomorrow
@@kr8s Robbed by the motorbikes
@@lencekk I agree..tdf is always like that no crowd management or bikes and cars in the way... Not the first time
This will be decided on the TT. They are too closely matched this year to drop the other by minutes on a mountain stage.
I would give Vingegaard a slight advantage on the TT based on the last TT the 2 last years, but it will be close. Pogocar is better this year.
Nah he is not
If it wasn't for Vingegaard he would for sure beat lance record. But they are so close so winning is far from a given. And he couldn't drop Vingegaard on the last climb Vingegaard even seemed to have more. Can't wait to see them going head to head on the time trial
After losing 7:25 in 2 days I think he ain’t winning
I think it's a big mistake by Jumbo visma, Not having Roglic on the team. Roglic is the only one strong enough to match the other two on his best days, I don't see any of the other JV riders strong enough to help Jonas tiring out Tadej. I think Jonas is collecting all his strenght to drop him once and for all. He has 3 chances left, If he does not succeed any of them, Pogačar will definetely win the tour. Even though im from Denmark, I actually really don't care who of the two wins. Can't help myself rooting for Pogačar anyway!.
Jonas will probably have to attack on Saturday. He has to burn Pogi off before the time trail. It's very delicately balanced. Really could go either way.
In my opinion Sepp Kuss is just as good as roglic
@@jenscarsten2993 Sepp Kuss Is defenitely a very strong rider, But is he able to follow the other two when they really open up?.
@@sinking1902 I see your point, I think Tadej will take at least 20-30 seconds on Vingegård on The TT. And if Jonas has to drop him on Stage 20, Tadej's motivation will make him even stronger.
JV will put the decisive move on Pogi on stage 17. He is able to follow him on sustained efforts, just not the punches. Like the last year. One really difficult terrain like stage 17 will likely reveal JV's real strength.
He won 3 monuments already tbf, Liege, Ronde and Il lombardia (twice)
I think stage 17 is the best one for Vingegaard if he wants to win
Changed your mind quickly mate.

acertou em cheio mestre.
This is looking to be one of the best tours but i think Vingegaard will take time back in the alps since they are better suited to him and while Pogi only puts a few seconds on each stage, when Jonas drops him it is usually more than a minute
So sorry to all the Pogi fans.
Jonas have other plans.
Jonas is the BOSS and in control.
Well this aged well!!!!!!
After stage 17 there is no chance now
Jumbo tactic works. Put Pogacar on the limit all the time and he will break in the high mountains. If they let Pogacar set the tempo, he will toast them all. But they did not let him.
This aged well…
This aged well.
One can argue that you are wrong about a great many things. Pogager has never run a grand tour without one or two off days. Then you can't win over Vingegaard. As a Dane, I was just waiting for it to happen.
Vingegaard needs to get aggressive, he was lucky today to only lose a few seconds, UAE fumbled it big time in a 5vs2, Pog will win if this carries on
No he doesn’t. He needs to wait his turn. Stage 17 is the day for Jonas.
This aged well..
We cant really make predictions
and he can loose time to Vingegaard an extrem talent.
Pogi is just to damn good, he'll take, take it all
Looks tough. Jonas has a stronger backing team.
Tadej Pogocar may be a better GC rider, but Yumbo-Vismo has better/more supporting teammates that gives the nod to Jonas Vingegaard at the end of the race.
Are you watching last years edition? UAE is doing a much better job at supporting their leader, and they usually have more team mates at the end of the climbs. Yates is like Roglic+
Maybe next year?
Lol
He missed his rim brake bike...
Are you sure?
Still feeling confident that Tadej Pogačar will win the Tour de France 2023 after today's time trial? ;-) Greetings from Denmark.
7.38🥵
Vingegaard will win overall. I think he will win the tt and will break Pogacar on Col de la Loze. Vingegaard is just better in the high mountains and in the third week.
@Fjordkrog - And you was so right, best prediction ever 👍
Jonas vingegaard Won Yesterday!!🤑
Vingegaard will win this tour. Pogacar has only been able to take seconds here and there on Vingegaard. In bigger mountains like the Alps, Vingegaard clearly has the advantage over Pogacar. And if he drops Pogacar, he'll take MINUTES not just mere seconds. Time trail won't do anything on the GC, everything will happen in the mountains.
I think Laurent Fignon & Primoz Roglic would disagree with that assessment of the potential importance of a TT, lol.
I tend to think that you might be right on this one. In spite of what all the “experts” think😀
@@iamcruzing TT widened the gap between them but what destroyed Pogacar was getting dropped in the mountains. I don't know but to me it was highly predictable.

yeah and today Jonas followed him for longer than the last time. So it shows that Jonas got better at producing huge accelerations. If he keeps improving Tadej will have no advantage over him in the future.
Jonas will drop Tadej in these mountains and widen the gap.
@sindbay646 I think you we're wrong. We will See in the TT who IS stronger. But if Jonas cant drop Pogi on Wednesday I think Pogi is gonna make that, except the gap is too big after the TT.
Stick to the fishing, fisherman.

Time proved you wrong.
Whoops, UA-cam is recommanding the wrong video
Im pretty sure now that Pogi will take it
It looks that way
When pogi "drops" jonas, it is only by a few seconds. You can't win the tour that way.
Because when Jonas drops pogi (yes, that can actually occur), it is usually with more than a minute. With big mountain stages ahead, which is in favour of jonas. and that is why pogi is NOT the favourite. If he were to be the favourite, he should have at least 2 minutes on jonas after Grand Colombier
