  • Today I share with you guys the process of replacing my sway bar bushings. It is a cheap and very do-able fix for anyone to do, there are no specialty tools required.

Love the vids man. It’s cool to see novice jeepers like myself turn wrenches.

Great video! Plus some comic relief. Your face and body posture at @8:49 lol. Plus the burnt lasagna reference. Too funny. Great tips and nice replacement install.

Had me rollin' lol. Make sure you upgrade the front and rear track bar bolts from 14mm to 9/16 as well (since you are tracking down death wobble). The OEM track bar fastening holes are just a tad larger, at 9/16, than the actual fasteners they used, which are 14mm. Gives the track bars slight play. Also, _any lift_ above 1.75" will require you to swap out the front and rear sway bar links, especially if your rear end feels "loose" over rough road (not O/R, but pavement/concrete).
I've tackled my death wobble, which was severe at only 2.5" of spring and shock lift on 33's.
    Awesome video!

Forgot, you have the JKS quicker disconnects up front, and the bar looks parallel :)

Zmodem yeah, i have a video replacing the track bar bushings. And at the same time i replaced the bolts i think. If not, i plan on going with an adjustable track bar, and when i put that in, I’ll change the bolts. As of now, i am death wobble free. 😇

Two questions, if you notice/have time. Can you tell when they need to be replaced without taking off sway bar? Have you replaced ball joints on your JK? I'm going to have some PM on my mail route Jeep soon, and am making a list. I've got something that will creak/groan sometimes in the area of the front suspension, but not sure what it is. Shocks? Its a rough job on a vehicle.
Getting a lot of help from your channel.

6000cs yes just look at the bushings, if cracked and dry, replace.
Nope have had to replace my ball joints yet.
And hm. My jeep always makes some sounds, i think it’s a Jeep thing. Could be coil springs, where the top and bottom meet the axle/frame, but it could really be anything. Just keep trying to isolate the sound, maybe have a friend roll the jeep front and back in a parking lot, and maybe you’ll be able to see or hear the sound better. You got this.

@@5sunny01 if memory serves me right, I used some standard issue rustoleum black spray paint. However, now-a-days I recommend the rustoleum professional gloss black. It comes in a silver can. Dries fast, makes parts look brand new, sticks. Goodluck! Thanks.
