@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Cool I’ll have to see if they have it here in Hawaii. It’s hard to get stuff here. Would the Hex logic pads and lake country pads work for it too?
Great tool review! Take notes Ryobi! All very minor fixes but they could definitely bring in A LOT of people into their lineup of tools by perfecting this one tool. • reverse the battery’s orientation from down to up • Add tactical feel for each speeds and label max speed • Improve the switch to be more user friendly • Lose the one battery claim… • Instead, highlight its low vibration. • Specify the throw in mm and correct claim if inaccurate. • Offer a kit with batteries and charger included for more savings to those new to the Ryobi family of tools. • The price is quite high for this tool for what it is compared to others on the market. This still seems to be a great tool overall as all of those things are very minor and more so address the first experience for a “new” Ryobi user. (again, just looking at it from someone who doesn’t own Ryobi tools since going with anything battery operated usually tends to lead to other bare tool purchases from the same manufacturer. That being said, I still know what I’ll be checking on come Black Friday :) Thanks again for the excellent review!!!
Thank you and I agree they could improve a few minor things and this thing would be a beast. The throw is definitely not right IMO. I own a 3mm,7mm,8mm,9mm,12mm,15mm and 21mm throw polishers and this one seems like it’s about an 8 or 9. All in all though it is a good machine and will get the job done. Thanks for watching
I'm a Ryobi fan and just bought this polisher! It's pretty awesome! 6ah and 9ah batteries are a must if you don't wanna battery swap. Corrected and polished my trucks and wife's car with Ryobi pads. Great products!
Usually when Ryobi rates the runtime of their tools, it's usually with a 4ah or 6ah battery. So the smaller battery will always run out faster. Great review, and thank you.
Yeah even with the 4Ah battery I used it still didn’t make it across the hood. The website states 2 hours of use with a 9Ah battery but the Manila says nothing about that. I think they should fix that. Thank you and you are welcome
The DIYer battery polisher definitely has its place; probably not for full correction, but for waxing and light polishing, it looks perfect. Great honest review!
Agreed. I know you can't compare Rupes, as that isn't fair. This is a weekend warrior product. All I am saying is to have your expectations properly set.
Honestly man you are probably my favorite youtube detailer to watch. There are quite a bit on here but Ive found you and I think similarly in products, machines, and process. Keep it up bro and thanks for the tips.
Superb video. Have already bought and was a Ryobi fan as a DIYer, as you described. You were so spot on it was eerie. Never replied to a UA-cam video before, which should show how impressed I am. Running a pair of 9amp batteries, a 3amp, and a 2 allows me to do a MK1 Golf and a Mini Cooper... just. Anti vibration gel gloves help too with a 9amp battery.
I've had mine for about 3 weeks. The hd site says can do a entire car with a 9ah . I've done 6 cars with it . 2 step on each . Using 3 4ah . Also 2 6ah . I have like 16 ryobi batteries so no big deal to me . Using a 6 pack charger helps pads or ok but I use my lc pads . Great video.
The 7500 rpm click is part of the wheel design. At lower speeds the regulator is active but when it clicks to 7500 it’s like a on/off switch. Basically if the regulator breaks or stops working you can still use it at 7500 rpm
So far love my Flex XFE..perfect as you say for minor paint correction and/or wax & sealant applications. Real easy to guide holding by the battery. To be able to grab a tool off the shelf and one hand a roof with no cord? Priceless. Perfect for any DIY'rs.
I have been looking forward to a review on this ever since they announced it. I have quite a few ryobi batteries so I went ahead and ordered one. Funny that you mentioned that it would be good for doing the roof on a vehicle. That's exactly why I ordered it.
This is what I would call a Real World Review. You answered all my questions. I was at Home Depot looking at this machine. I smashed the Like & Subscribe button. Thanks
Good review. I did a motorcycle and used two 4 amp batteries to complete the job. It's a battery hog. If anyone thinks they will be doing a whole car with one battery they will be disappointed. Also mine only came with two pads. When I called Ryobi to fix the problem they told me to return it to Home Depot for a refund. Not to happy with that response. I use Griots pads anyway.
Great vids. I'm a mobile detailer out of NJ. I been up all night off and on watching vids and found you. I have a customer in town and is serious about having his jacked up F250 undercarage washed. Remembered that Ryobi had the undercarage sprayer and I found you.. youhave gained a new follower👍🏾💪🏾
Excellent as always and I already have a bunch of Ryobi tools and batteries. Still, with a charger and three batteries it's $358. Pads are a bargain at 3 for $21. Adam's cordless swirl remover is $100 less and Flex is $250 more. Overall I think you nailed it, perfect for the person who is only planning on using it a couple times a year.
I think with the batteries you have for the other Ryobi 18V products, it might not be as bad as you think👍🏼 Love the ergonomic design with the battery pitching away from the panel👏🏼👏🏼 Great video Brian📽👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼
Yes. This is exactly what I want. I bought a ryobi shop light and a charger separately with 2 batteries a year ago. So I’ll get this plus a hedge trimmer. No more shears to cut down Flower bed plants.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing you should do a video for people who want to pop the paint of their car that doesn’t need a paint correction with a machine. My paint is flawless. But a polisher would make the paint more deep than just adding toppers over toppers.
I could immediately hear a difference in RPM when you changed batteries. Also, Ryobi says one car with with the 9.0 battery. Personally, I would not car if it took 4 batteries and I was rotating through them while another charged. I would do this until the vehicle was done which can vary greatly. The reason I don't care how many batteries? Because there's NO CORD!!!! OMG! I already have the Ryobi 18v vac and now this is out? Hot damn! No unwinding cords. No tripping over cords. No cars rolling over cords (I was mobile). No cords to pick up when you're dog as tired and done! Put this with 18v cordless washer.....and six 4ah batteries....you're doing a lot of details FAST....and where ever you want to!
Your new mic is fantastic good decision improved big time. I’m looking at the new Shinemate EB351 5” 15mm with Brushless motor. Or the flex. Sandro did a review on the shinemate and said the torque is amazing you will never stall it. Flex is $200.00 more trying to justify the extra money 🤔. When you said use it for the roof perfect nailed it. Very well done review Brian 👍🏻👍🏻🇨🇦
Thank you! The sound quality is way better. Big panels like roofs and hoods will be great for this because you don’t have to worry about a cord. Thanks for watching brother
I've been collecting Ryobi tools when I found they work great on the same batteries. I don't "need" a polisher now, but it is in one of my possible next Ryobi tools along with a 90 degree power wrench. Thanks for the review!
Thank you for the review! I am a professional detailer and currently have a Flex I'm really happy with. I'm also a big Ryobi user for the other tools...was hoping this polisher would give me that cordless option I was looking for. Still seems like a good machine but I'll stick with my Flex.
Great video. I just bought one of these for polishing after watching this. As far as batteries, you would need a 6ah to do a whole vehicle. 2ah batteries don’t last long on a drill, much less a polisher. I really appreciate your videos and everything I learn from them. Keep up the great work.
That's a really nice polisher! I love Ryobi tools , I don't know if you knew already but if you use a bigger battery you will get more power out of the tool , believe me , I was skeptical about the bigger battery too , but my brother who also has ryobi tools told me to use a bigger battery, I was like "that doesn't make any sense, because the volts are the same is just the running time that is affected by the size of the battery, " my brother was like "don't say anything just try it please " ... boyyyy, I was wrong, the performance of my ryobi tools was better and more powerful with the bigger battery than when using the smaller one , I didn't have any big batteries at the time so I went to home depot and got me two 6.0 Ryobi batteries for 99 dollars before tax I think home depot right now has the spring black Friday sale during the month of March and April, you can get two 6.0 batteries for 99 dollars, the have pretty good sales right now, like better prices on some of the more expensive Ryobi tools , also if you buy a single battery , Ryobi gives you a tool of your choice for free , you should go to Home Depot to check it out
I agree the bigger batteries definitely give you more power. The 4AH are the biggest batteries I have. I will have to check the sale out! Thanks for the info
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing not to bash on you, but that battery you first used looked like they had some wear and tare on it. Unfortunatly as batterys go, expect the best 12 months out of it and after that, you're on borrowed time. Skins will last a life time and batteries are the one that'll make them money. Thankyou for your review though, definatly be getting one!
@@EnvyOCE I’m honestly not sure how old that battery was but it’s probably no more the 1 1/2 years old. The 4AH batteries were brand new for this video and it only lasted about 20 minutes fully charged on this polisher. It’s still a good machine though.
I like Ryobi for my not so critical tools but I use Milwaukee for harsher applications. I purchased the Ryobi cordless angle grinder and returned it the next day. The rpm's are not enough to grind welds for long, it would shut off. Switched to the Milwaukee and even though it does not compare to a corded, it serves its purpose of reducing the amount of cords running all over the place. I think I will buy the Milwaukee cordless polisher for the extra cost, knowing that it will do a better job.
Thanks I just read that. I still don’t think it could be done with a 9AH. I can’t imagine how much heavier and how bad it would vibrate with that big of a battery on it.
Just watched the entire video loved it, looking for a second cordless DA, this might be it without breaking the bank, plus I already have charger and batteries. Thank you Brian.PS send it over to Apex for full break down.
Hi! This is one of the best reviews of a Ryobi tool I've ever seen. Informative and honest. It made me place an order for this polisher. Here in Norway, the best price I can find is $150. Not bad, compared to other Ryobi tools, it's usually at least double the price here compared to the US prices. Thanks again! :-)
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Tnx! :-) Please test some of the other Ryobi tools and keep on posting.. Earlier today, I've recived glue guns (x2,. one for my daughter and one for myself). And the Ryobi R18MI-0 multicompressor. Looking forward to test these tools. :-)
I know right. Hey do you recommend the one which is currently in aus? The 18v buffeand polisher. Im considering getting anyway to get rid of some branch scratches on our late model subaru xv from offroad. And to improve my 2011 wrx paint
First time viewer.......without a doubt, you sold me as an immediate subscriber !!! I was very impressed with your presentation, style, delivery, articulation, etc, ect, ect.. It was so comfortable viewing and listening that I'm looking forward to future content. Btw I currently wasn't in the market for a cordless "da", but based on your video, honestly offering and proving the pros and cons, I'm gonna invest in this Ryobi. Stay safe n healthy. best of success to ya! Thank you. Mark
Thank you and welcome to the FAB Family. It’s a good little polisher for sure as long as you have several batteries laying around. You are welcome Mark!
I have the Dewalt 20v and use both 2 and 5 Amp batteries. Very nice machine, powerful and smooth. Does an excellent job on paint correction and polishing. I also use all Griots Garage products - Fast Correcting Cream with thier microfiber pads or orange pads for polishing. Griots red and black pads are great for waxing. Dewalt unit does have a slight "whine" to it sound wise, but love having a battery random orbital polisher.
Damn, wireless is gonna be so nice for using the black pad to apply liquid sealants. You can get around the entire vehicle quickly without worrying about the cable accidentally rubbing on the paint.
That is one sweet looking polisher for the money. I am definitely going to have to invest in one of those in the future. The convenience of the battery and not having to deal with the cord is HUGE, especially after using my Flex PXE-80.
Thanks for the video fab sounds like a little buffer for the small things like the roof great price it ill be great trying this unit love home depot they do have great stuff thanks fab have a great weekend Brian
Wow didn't expect to see a Ryobi polisher. That's pretty cool. Looks like it does a great job. I have 2-3 batteries but it will drive me crazy to keep changing them. 2 batteries on just hood. Guess not too bad if you keep rotating in the charger. Thanks for the video Fab!!
I didn’t expect it to operate as well as it did but the battery issue is disappointing. It’s nice to have a cordless around when needed though and if you have 2 or more batteries it should be fine. You are welcome!
I have many Ryobi tools, but not a fan of their drills. I highly recommend the Ryobi Cordless Compact Workshop Blower. It’s only $55 for tool only, and blows at 160 mph! Great review, I’ll be getting one. You’ll need at least two 4ah batteries for the DA.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing I am a DIYer , but I’m a professional PDR specialist so many battery operated tools I have, I use RYOBI batteries. The mini blower is great for drying off my vehicles. I also prefer Makita for everything else. Thanks great video!
Couple of things on the battery. A bigger battery is going to give you more run time as well as a bit more current draw. I heard it straight away when you slapped in 4ah battery. On the Australian Ryobi site they state a 5ah batttery will give 45mins of run time. Not sure why, but that a big difference and you still won’t get a whole car in 45 mins. Anyway great review, but just thought I should mention that.
Thank you for your informative video. I just got this a few days ago, but unfortunately it really bogs down even without any pressure. Going to try and exchange for a new one. Of all the videos out there, your machine seems to be the only one that didn't stall or bog down. Mine got extremely hot. It is a nice machine as it is balanced and doesn't vibrate a lot. Just doesn't keep spinning properly and I tried a 6ah battery as well as the 4ah. Again thanks for the great video. Aloha from Hawaii.
I was looking to buy this. I have plenty of Ryobi tools and batteries 🔋. I have all the Adams polishers and the battery ones. I like the price of the Ryobi and having the batteries is a plus. You can call them and they will send you another battery. You have to have the serial number and tell them that the battery is not taking a charge. They send you a new one. I did it and have an extra now.
Great review FAB! Been waiting for a decent review on this polisher as I'm a Ryobi guy too! I contacted Ryobi Australia about this product being released here and all they said was not all overseas products make it to Aust market. Might have to take a punt and get one from USA.
😆 thanks man I bought one of these as I wanted something good & inexpensive in place of my mains powered rupes and didn’t think it was speed adjustable until I saw your intro wicked.
Thanks for the review. I love my ryobi tools but for paint correction, I love my rupes. It’s so smooth and has the power I need to correct harder paints.
Great video. I saw your Instagram post and couldn’t wait for your review. I have Ryobi tools so I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on one. I think it will be value add and combine it with my Griots G6 G8 and G9.
As a DIYer a corded machine represents much better value. Battery life is greatly reduced when not used and stored incorrectly and battery tools are really expensive. Also when your battery expires a replacement battery is nearly the same price as a new tool at which point there will be a much better new model on the market. On top of that you never run out of power when plugged in, lets face it how many times will you use a tool like this away from home!
It’s great to see the DYI companies expand their markets and enter the detailing realm. Overall, I believe the tone of your video was that this is a good machine but they just have to work on their battery life. Can you compare the time of use on the Ryobi to other battery polishers?
Great video, I bought this today after waiting for months! At home when inspecting it, I took it out of the box and spun the pad on the machine with my hand, then I notice while viewing it from the side when spinning it that its moving unevenly closer and further from the machines body. So, I think I need to return it for a new one or decide to go for another model with cable. Shame, my Ryobi BIT holders are also acting this way making the screwdriver unsteady.
Regarding the batteries, when they say that one battery will do XYZ, you should check which specific battery they say it will do that with. No 2AH battery will last long, irregardless of the battery manufacturer. Also, and tool that typically requires 2 hands to use, should use a minimum of a 5-6AH battery. I’ve seen the Ryobi 9AH battery on sale before for $99.
Awesome review. Appreciate your honesty. I have zero Ryobi batteries so for me this machine is a definite no. My SPTA cordless will continue to be my cordless workhorse. SPTA comes with 2 batteries and a charger for the same price as this Ryobi. Paid $40 for a 3rd battery so now I can do a whole large SUV with no problem.
Thank you! Phil loves his SPTA also. I would have went with that but I had plenty of batteries for this polisher. I think the SPTA battery life is better though.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing most definitely a longer battery life. The SPTA is a 20v so that gives a little extra time. I could’ve corrected and then polished that hood easily with one battery. Probably the roof also.
Full car with 1 battery is more of a 6ah and polishing (not really paint correction). I ordered new pads, I need better color coding as I’m partly colorblind. Doing a full vehicle with paint correction, may want a corded one. Doing spot correction or if you’re like me and have a 6 battery charger then it’s not bad for the occasional work.
I have managed to stop most of my chemical purchases over the past 6 months or so. Right away I went out and bought a Maxshine M15 for $110. Don't really need it but I bought it due to the low sale price. I also bought a platform ladder and a car dryer so I haven't really saved any money by stopping my chemical purchases. I had been thinking about getting a Dewalt cordless but haven't yet. Now there is this Ryobi. I'm going to fight the urge because I don't really need another polisher. Time will tell.
Great review FAB! I am a Ryobi fan and my first contact with a buffer was that huge 10" cordless consumer model back in 2015. I think they take too long to bring this model to the market. I ended up buying a 5" 15mm throw CP18VOP by Sealey (UK brand). I could not justify the Flex asking price considering I'm an enthusiast using the polisher once a year. I wish it had been from Ryobi but I'm happy overall.
Thank You for sharing! Inspiring as I too have some other Ryobi schtuff. My son and I use the crap out their mini blower for our car's when we wash and detail.
Hi, Nice Review. I probably will get this one for being a DIYer. I think if I worked on Ryobi design team I would next release a Brushless HP version that should have more power and be smoother. I would put in a variable trigger and lock button that your thumb can do like the established polishers would have and maybe turn the battery sideways (not sure on that as it does stand nicely vertically on the concrete floor or workbench setting it down). I think lower bottom end speed would be good too in the 1000 or 1500 OPM range would be good on wax/sealant apps. Almost need the bigger batteries of 4or 5Ah as bigger batteries have lower internal resistance and can give the motor what it wants to do with more oopmfff.
Been waiting for these to be in stock! I’m pretty sure Ryobi claims the one battery use for polish is using the 9ah battery. I’ll definitely get this as I have tons of Ryobi already. Thanks for the review!
Yes the website says with the 9AH battery and I didn’t see that until after I made this video. The box says 2 hour run time but doesn’t say what battery. In their video on UA-cam they mention 2 hour runtime also but show the guy using a 2AH battery. I hate false advertisement. You are welcome
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Yea I’m with you. I love Ryobi but I called them out on IG when they posted about it. But like you said, it will be great for on top of SUVs and some hoods and areas where the cord is just annoying. I actually just ordered the one that came with a battery. Figured more batteries won’t hurt 😆
@FAB Automotive Detailing I got my polisher in today. I notice a difference in sound from 6800 to max speed and the wheel doesn’t click after max. Just thought you should know. I haven’t actually used it yet though.
Great review thankyou. I have a handful of 2.0 Batteries and a 4.0. These are on a good deal at the moment so ill grab one. I have a Porter Cable but only use it a couple pf times a year so this will be ideal.
I also have the charger and Ryobi batteries so I was wondering about this one. If starting from scratch I'd likely splurge for the Flex. But for this price this one is awesome for my occasional use.
FAB . ..was up brother. Looks like a nice looking Jeep Comanche there. Lift it so its like a Mercedes-benz G Wagon clone. As for the polisher.... my sons and I are Milwaukee fans but they don't make a DA only rotary. My oldest son that is a Jeep, Dodge mechanic told me that Snap-on has a DA...lol. only 869 easy payments of $190...lol..kidding. I told him hell no. Stay out of that damn truck lol. Those Ryobi batteries are kinda crappy. We used every brand in industrial electrical construction and we stuck with Milwaukee and Hilti. Love the content keep it rolling brother
Thanks! Yeah the battery life sucks but if you have a few it’s not a big deal but that was the only real drawback I had on it. You had me laughing with the SnapOn comment.
Awesome review been watching your videos lately and must tell you have the best Ryobi product reviews on UA-cam. I’m a huge Ryobi tool fan and love their products. I think they’re a great bang for the buck and great quality especially for DIY’ers. Based on what I saw with the battery life issue I will have to pass on this great tool for Ryobi and stick with my old Griots DA. I am looking for a good long throw DA though since my old Griots I converted to a 3 inch DA for those small spots and corners. Might have to look at some Griots Garage ones since the price and quality are there as well.
Thank you! Ryobi tools are very good. Yeah the battery life is the only down side. I used it for an enhancement the other day and only needed a 4 AH and a 2 AH to get it done. Granted with an enhancement your arm speeds are pretty quick. Griots makes some good polishers.
Hey FAB, nice to be back after a few months off. Hair just about all back! Great video with this Ryobi polisher hopefully we have these down here as have 2 very dusty Lexus. Hope all ok over there.

Have done 10 cars with this tool so far/ 8 different makes. Mercedes , Toyota, BMW, Shkoda , Ford , Nissan, Honda , Volvo Love the way it seats in my hands, with 5ah batteries i hardly feel any vibration. Machine Leaves slight hologramms with schol navy spider pad and s20 black, even on German clear coats , donno why but it does. I manage to completely mask hologramms with TW Ceramic spray though. Is that also the case for you , or should I replace it as faulty please ? Leaves them on japanese with schol s20 and medium Polishing pads. Otherwise it does the job removing light to medium swirls and scratches. It does make eavily damaged clear coat look twice better but can't remove above moderate level clear coat damage. Can not even with scol s3 gold and scoll white spider pad, even after 6 passes it can't. I do claybar 2-4 rounds as well. Strangely enough Scholl s3 Heaviest cut paste with heaviest cut pad doesn't cut more than Scholl s20 and blue pad , but s3 gold and white pad does cut more on applied to cordless drill aka my temporary Rotary :) Scholl s 20 with blue pad on cordless drill does cut less than s3 gold and white pas , but on this ryobi polisher these both of these combos deliver same cut. P.S. when ryobi cordless rotary coming out ?
I haven’t had a problem with holograms as of yet. I have never used Scholl products so I can’t speak to that. I don’t know if they will release rotary but it would be cool if they did.
Hi my friend I love the Ryobi Arsenal I've many thing from drills garden strimmers hedge cutter power wash Yes and now this is going to be a part of that collection Must say here in the UK I've just paid £89.00 for it without battery of course I have several 4ah batteries and like you I would hit the bulk of a correction with my mains DA but when it comes to the fenders and roof that hopefully where it will pay for it's self Cheer bud nice inside into the product I feel as you have said I would
Ryobi has great products! You should check out my other Ryobi videos where I show my collection also. It’s great for roofs and also to use with AIO Protestants. Thanks!
The 2 amp hour batteries are the base model battery anyway, I never get anything under 4ah. I understand it makes it heavier. But then again, you could get a few 2ah and have them alternating charge
It definitely runs a lot smoother with the 2AH. They actually suggest a 9AH battery and that would make it to heavy to use for long periods of time. It’s funny though because in their video they show the guy using a 2AH.
A few other thoughts. For 1 , I kind of wish it was heavier. Maybe I wouldn't have to push down as hard and turn the speed up as much to work product. Secondly if you are left handed the speed dial may be a pain . Would have been ni e to have it on both sides . 3rd , I will be putting a vented backing plate on it . The to get rid of the heat better. Not sure what kind of grease is used and how much the heat will effect it. I still use my 10 year old flex rotary more . Grew up on a rotary and 35 years later that's still my go to . I put this ryobi through its paces though . Figured that at the price point and being almost 1/2 the price of other cordless give it a shot . Just may thoughts . Hope it helps if some are still on the fence.
I just wanted to buy myself a wireless machine, but I was rather leaning on the SPTA 20v, which comes with 2 batteries, for 189 € curious to know the best
@@marksafady5986 I think this is the best choice, you know what, I think the time is gone when "Rupes", "Flex" and "Meguiars" took over the polish detailing market. I bought a German brand DA polisher with a 21mm and it works perfectly, 77 euros !!!! the crazy thing at Rupes and Flex I should have added a 0 .... so yes, they are a great polisher, but a lot of good brands today offer good quality for a fraction, very good for the average person.

Great tool review! Take notes Ryobi!
All very minor fixes but they could definitely bring in A LOT of people into their lineup of tools by perfecting this one tool.
• reverse the battery’s orientation from down to up
• Add tactical feel for each speeds and label max speed
• Improve the switch to be more user friendly
• Lose the one battery claim…
• Instead, highlight its low vibration.
That being said, I still know what I’ll be checking on come Black Friday :)
Thanks again for the excellent review!!!

Ryobi always upped their game to every tools! Not the pro tool but it get the job done.

@@BenjaminLumbers Thank you! I love all my RYOBI tools. Thanks for watching
Thats good information, thanks!
I appreciate the info! If you have plenty of batteries I think this polisher is a good deal for sure. Thanks
For someone who has a underground parking lot and no power cord this review is so helpful
Glad it helped you!
The 7500 rpm click is part of the wheel design. At lower speeds the regulator is active but when it clicks to 7500 it’s like a on/off switch. Basically if the regulator breaks or stops working you can still use it at 7500 rpm
Thanks for the info!
So far love my Flex XFE..perfect as you say for minor paint correction and/or wax & sealant applications. Real easy to guide holding by the battery. To be able to grab a tool off the shelf and one hand a roof with no cord? Priceless. Perfect for any DIY'rs.
I have used the Flex machines and they are great! It will be nice to have where cords are a pain. Thanks for watching brother
I have been looking forward to a review on this ever since they announced it. I have quite a few ryobi batteries so I went ahead and ordered one. Funny that you mentioned that it would be good for doing the roof on a vehicle. That's exactly why I ordered it.
You will like it! Any panel you would have to reach across cordless is the way to go.
This is what I would call a Real World Review. You answered all my questions. I was at Home Depot looking at this machine. I smashed the Like & Subscribe button. Thanks
Thanks for the review. I am a Ryobi fan and have many of their tools.. I am just a hobbyist I plan to stick with the Griots G8, G9.
Thanks! I completely understand just sticking with what you have.
Thanks! Yes it is a battery hog for sure. That is a weird response you would think they would just send you the one pad.
Thank you! Yeah for the average guy taking care of his cars that had some Ryobi batteries around this is a great option.
I think with the batteries you have for the other Ryobi 18V products, it might not be as bad as you think👍🏼 Love the ergonomic design with the battery pitching away from the panel👏🏼👏🏼 Great video Brian📽👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼
I agree 💯! I think if you had to buy batteries then I would look further. The design is awesome and very comfortable. Thanks brother
I bought Ryobi’s Random orbital Waxer. It works well , and I don’t have worry about cord management waxing our vehicles.
Appreciate the un-biased review...it was on-sale today but your analysis gave me some pause which I appreciate.
You are welcome! Glad I could help
Fantastic - I've been waiting for a proper DA polisher from Ryobi - the "pro" ones are overkill for me. Thankyou Ryobi!
Yes. This is exactly what I want. I bought a ryobi shop light and a charger separately with 2 batteries a year ago. So I’ll get this plus a hedge trimmer. No more shears to cut down Flower bed plants.
I love my Ryobi tools! People like to bash them but they have always got the job done for me and never let me down.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing you should do a video for people who want to pop the paint of their car that doesn’t need a paint correction with a machine. My paint is flawless. But a polisher would make the paint more deep than just adding toppers over toppers.
@@fiouable That is a good idea! Only way to do that though would either use a glaze or jewel the paint but that requires a polisher.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing well get cracking and find a car that just needs a glaze applied with that ryobi polisher!
@@fiouable Wish I could but it’s freezing and snowing here. 🥶
It would be a great addition to your tools. You are welcome
Thank you for the review! I am a professional detailer and currently have a Flex I'm really happy with. I'm also a big Ryobi user for the other tools...was hoping this polisher would give me that cordless option I was looking for. Still seems like a good machine but I'll stick with my Flex.
You are welcome! Yeah stick with the Flex if you do this for a living.
Great video. I just bought one of these for polishing after watching this. As far as batteries, you would need a 6ah to do a whole vehicle. 2ah batteries don’t last long on a drill, much less a polisher. I really appreciate your videos and everything I learn from them. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! I just did a truck today with it and used 2 4ah batteries doing a light polish.
That's a really nice polisher! I love Ryobi tools , I don't know if you knew already but if you use a bigger battery you will get more power out of the tool , believe me , I was skeptical about the bigger battery too , but my brother who also has ryobi tools told me to use a bigger battery, I was like "that doesn't make any sense, because the volts are the same is just the running time that is affected by the size of the battery, " my brother was like "don't say anything just try it please " ... boyyyy, I was wrong, the performance of my ryobi tools was better and more powerful with the bigger battery than when using the smaller one , I didn't have any big batteries at the time so I went to home depot and got me two 6.0 Ryobi batteries for 99 dollars before tax
I think home depot right now has the spring black Friday sale during the month of March and April, you can get two 6.0 batteries for 99 dollars, the have pretty good sales right now, like better prices on some of the more expensive Ryobi tools , also if you buy a single battery , Ryobi gives you a tool of your choice for free , you should go to Home Depot to check it out
I agree the bigger batteries definitely give you more power.
Great and honest review as always brian, you can't beat that, I'm going to stick with the one I have thanks again for your time stay safe 👍👍👍
Thank you! Stick with works for you!
Ryobi isn’t bad for the average DIYer. It is nice to be cordless for sure.
They stated that you could do a whole car polish with a 9.0 battery. A P194 9.0Ah battery is what their calling out in their description.
Thanks! I’m sure he Brian will review it soon.
Thank you! It’s a great tool for hard to reach places or for an all in one. You are wecome
Hopefully we'll see this in Australia some time this decade

@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Well, you can use ONR. That's what I did when we were under drought season here.

I love Griots Garage products because they just always flat out work. Yes having a battery operated polisher is nice. Thanks for watching.
Damn, wireless is gonna be so nice for using the black pad to apply liquid sealants. You can get around the entire vehicle quickly without worrying about the cable accidentally rubbing on the paint.
I agree and I plan to use it for that more then anything else.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing would be nice for spot touchups too.
Good review. I’ll stay with Griots and be fine.
I understand! Thanks for watching
Yeah but cordless is pretty cool
That is one sweet looking polisher for the money. I am definitely going to have to invest in one of those in the future. The convenience of the battery and not having to deal with the cord is HUGE, especially after using my Flex PXE-80.
It’s a good little machine. The battery life is a let down but the machine works great.
Thanks for the video fab sounds like a little buffer for the small things like the roof great price it ill be great trying this unit love home depot they do have great stuff thanks fab have a great weekend Brian
You are welcome! Ryobi has some great tools.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Great to know. I don't have a cordless yet so I'd get this next when I'm ready.
I think there tools are great for the average homeowner and DIYer taking care of their cars.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing I am a DIYer , but I’m a professional PDR specialist so many battery operated tools I have, I use RYOBI batteries. The mini blower is great for drying off my vehicles. I also prefer Makita for everything else. Thanks great video!
I will look into this,I like Ryobi tools they seem to give you a lot of bang for your money!!!!
Yeah definitely a bigger battery does help but it makes it vibrate more with the extra weight. I appreciate it Thank you!
Awesome review FAB!!
I love the cordless machines😎
Thank you
I was looking to buy this.
The price is good for this one if you already have the batteries for sure. I never knew they did that with their batteries I appreciate the heads up.
Great review I'm definitely wanting to purchase to add to my ryobi fleet lol great detail pointers keep up the great videos
Thank you! It would be a great addition for sure.
Great review FAB! Been waiting for a decent review on this polisher as I'm a Ryobi guy too! I contacted Ryobi Australia about this product being released here and all they said was not all overseas products make it to Aust market. Might have to take a punt and get one from USA.
Thanks! I like their tolls also because they have never let me down when I need them. Thanks for watching
😆 thanks man I bought one of these as I wanted something good & inexpensive in place of my mains powered rupes and didn’t think it was speed adjustable until I saw your intro wicked.
You are welcome!
Thanks for the review. I love my ryobi tools but for paint correction, I love my rupes. It’s so smooth and has the power I need to correct harder paints.
You are welcome! I agree but it’s great for an enhancement or wax application.
Great video. I saw your Instagram post and couldn’t wait for your review. I have Ryobi tools so I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on one. I think it will be value add and combine it with my Griots G6 G8 and G9.
Thank you! If you have Ryobi batteries already I think it’s a good buy because it works great.
Yes that pretty much sums up my experience. I don’t have another battery operated big polisher so I can’t speak to that. Sorry
Thank you! That’s unfortunate I would definitely return it and get another one.
Thanks for the video. I just got this a week ago and want to start using it soon.
You are welcome
Good review... I've looked at battery powered machines, I cannot see myself buying 3 or so batteries... thankyou for demo-ing and pointing that out..
Thanks! I agree if you don’t have batteries already it’s not worth it for the price of the polisher, batteries and Chargers. You are welcome
You can buy battery adapters.
I really like your honest review, great video 👍😁
Thank you
Full car with 1 battery is more of a 6ah and polishing (not really paint correction). I ordered new pads, I need better color coding as I’m partly colorblind. Doing a full vehicle with paint correction, may want a corded one. Doing spot correction or if you’re like me and have a 6 battery charger then it’s not bad for the occasional work.
Excellent Video / Review Brian PS. Sound from Your Mic is Awesome~! Keep it up~!!
Thank you! The mic makes a huge difference.
Detailing is hard to stop spending money on! 😂 Always new things coming out.
Another awesome review. Looks like I am adding a new tool to the tool box
Thank you
Great review FAB!
Thank you!
Great review. I am definitely picking this up. Have a bunch of those ryobi batterys and my cheap harbor freight da is a pain with the cord.
Thanks!
Thank You for sharing! Inspiring as I too have some other Ryobi schtuff. My son and I use the crap out their mini blower for our car's when we wash and detail.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting
Do you use the mini blower to blow off the water to prevent water spots because I saw someone try that with a Makita but it didn’t have the power
Interesting review. I agree with you that if you already have the batteries & charger it would have a place in your toolbox. 👍✌️
Thank you! Yeah if you had to buy batteries and a charger it would be a hard sell.

FAB . ..was up brother.

Love the way it seats in my hands, with 5ah batteries i hardly feel any vibration.
Strangely enough Scholl s3 Heaviest cut paste with heaviest cut pad doesn't cut more than Scholl s20 and blue pad , but s3 gold and white pad does cut more on applied to cordless drill aka my temporary Rotary :)
Scholl s 20 with blue pad on cordless drill does cut less than s3 gold and white pas , but on this ryobi polisher these both of these combos deliver same cut.
P.S. when ryobi cordless rotary coming out ?
I haven’t had a problem with holograms as of yet. I have never used Scholl products so I can’t speak to that.
I don’t know if they will release rotary but it would be cool if they did.

I appreciate your input! Thanks for watching
What do you think of the noise levels compared to say a Flex or Rupes? Thanks for the review really helpful
Good review man! I can't wait till Milwaukee comes out with one
Thank you!
Milwaukee makes great cordless tools as well. Definitely above Ryobi quality.
New to your channel this video is great continue to teach us sir !!
@@BobScott-k3s Thank you!
I just wanted to buy myself a wireless machine, but I was rather leaning on the SPTA 20v, which comes with 2 batteries, for 189 €
curious to know the best
Check out the Sealey cordless polisher CP18VOP. Great tool. You need an extra battery though.
The SPTA 15mm cordless is 10 times better than this.
@@marksafady5986 I think this is the best choice, you know what, I think the time is gone when "Rupes", "Flex" and "Meguiars" took over the polish detailing market. I bought a German brand DA polisher with a 21mm and it works perfectly, 77 euros !!!! the crazy thing
at Rupes and Flex I should have added a 0 ....
so yes, they are a great polisher, but a lot of good brands today offer good quality for a fraction, very good for the average person.
@@Ano_9999 I have the spta 15mm cordless, so I’m speaking from experience. If you look closely, the ryobi cordless isn’t spinning that great, even at top OPM
The SPTA is a great option as Phil Miranda loves his in fact I think he bought another one.
Now that 6 battery charger will be handy . Love the cordless equipment. Im actually was more curious on how it will polish semi tractor fuel tanks.
Yes that would be an awesome charger to have. I haven’t used it on a fuel tank so I can’t answer that.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing polishing fuel tanks is not the most pleasant job , but they look awesome when there finished. I done my own . I'm very curious about buying that cordless one . I do appreciate your video of that machine. I look forward to purchasing one soon.
You convinced me with this video. Very informative. New subscriber
Welcome to the FAB Family!
Thank you
Definitely glad you did the video 😁
Thank you
Paint correction for us is 80-90 percent. Anymore I need to wet sand which depending on condition or how much the customer is willing to pay. Most customers are paying no more than $350 for 75% just for exterior correction.
That’s a great tool to spot polish/buff. Not for full use. Use a Rupes mark 2 or Flex for correction jobs.
I agree 💯
