I still think the best way to mitigate congestion in Manila is to reduce migration to Manila by developing other cities. Encourage businesses to place facilities outside of Manila. Optimizing mass transit can only take you so far if your population is so densely packed.
I'm just amazed how some people manage to still drive through it even though penalties are higher. At this point, it became a habit for some. Truly undisciplined.

Aside from improving the bus lanes, I hope they would focus on improving sidewalks too. Places like Mandaluyong have terrible sidewalks and deciding to take the bus or MRT instead of driving or Grab you have to factor in the sidewalks you will pass through and how likely you will be side swiped by cars or motorcycles.
This stretch of the bus lane from Aurora blvd going to Mantrade interchange North bound is a real magnet for bus lane violators especially in the morning.

There has to be a specific Bus Lane which can transport lots more people than cars do.
Another wonderful video. Nothing more satisfying then seeing drivers apprehended for traffic violations. There was a comment about most private vehicles having only person in them well to fix that in America they have a car pool lane where if you have more than one person you can ride in the said lane which does not have traffic. Best part about Maynila traffic it is free flowing unlike Cebu which is not. Also in Cebu they allow tricycles every where and don't enforce the traffic rules. Check points are eusually for show and if all the people are busy then the other violators just pass right by. The rest of the country needs to step up and do the same.
I like how consistent Sir Gadget addict referring to how many people a BUS can carry VS. 1-4 PAX only in a Car. It's very effective indeed, that's why people that say otherwise can just stay quiet and follow the road rules and stay disciplined.
If the violators are protesting about the apprehension. Simple things to do. Ask them if they are the Pres., Vice Pres., Senate Pres., House Speaker or Chief Justice, then if not nothing to explain to those Kamotes.😂
3:00 you know if they would find a way to put some parking slots from end to end of edsa. they would prefer riding buses than driving the car.
How I wish we will see violators that are handcuffed by police and sent to jail.
I hope they would mandate for the doors of buses to be transfered to the left side. and have an additional door at the back, front for entry back for exit. for the safety of the commuters
Many of the buses have already been updated to have doors on both sides.
It is better to unload on the left, although honestly it hasn't had a huge impact on the busway.

Higher fines are a good deterrent to implement rules. Discipline alone will not work the way I see it!!!

These officers need to be provided with some sort of equipment that will deter runners. Like a strong magnet that they can attach to the vehicle, and if the driver runs, it will leave a huge mark on the vehicle.
1st Offense: 50,000
2ns Offense: 75,000
3rd Offense: 100,000
MMDA should use Spike Strips when flagging down Bus Lane violators.

I hope they plan (bus way expansion) this and not just implement it or it will be useless like sim card registration, jeep modernization and etc.
If argument is waste of space. Then, why not allow car/van/suv in the bus lane with atleast 4 passengers? And motorcycles with 2 passengers?

I always watch your video. Do you have a recordings for afternoon and night apprehensions? I usually ride along EDSA pero sa tanghali at gabi, well used ang bus lane ng mga private vehicle. Even bike lanes, ginagamit na din ng hindi bisikleta.
I was in EDSA in the summer of 2022, and my taxi driver went down the Exclusive EDSA busway lane. This was before the penalties were increased. A few quick questions:
1.) Why is MMDA not deputized by LTO to confiscate licenses?
2.) What are the trip tickets for ambulances? Who issues them? Do they expire? What does a legitimate trip ticket look like?

This portion of the EDSA is very useless for drivers going straight to flyover (BIG TRAP). Lack of traffic enforcers to enforce traffic going Alabang, they tend to eat lanes going Northbound then cause heavy traffic congestion. This area and under the MRT Taft station, jeepneys that unloads and wait for passengers under the station. Why do this areas always not being stationed by the MMDA officers to ease up the traffic congestion along that area?!!! I hope Gadget Addict you can relay this message to them. They always just stay under the bridges and wait for coding violations, LACK of traffic enforcement along Pasay Taft.

Grab Drivers, private drivers, people fetching someone/something, pickup tasks wherein the cargo cannot be carried in a public transport vehicle, PWDs, etc... were these taken into account? no? then that "study" is flawed.
I guess it is right to increase the bus lane fine to 20,000 pesos to deter them from coming in. This will be the most effective way to get them scared.

What if there is a real emergency riding a private vehicle and passed through the bus lane due to traffic, would they still stop the car?
Yes they'll still stop the vehicle, at the very least for verification purposes.
If it's a genuine life or death emergency, you're likely to be released immediately.
But more often the "emergency" turns out to be someone running late for a meeting.
Or the enforcer asks what the "emergency" is, and the driver can't give any answer, can't show any kind of call, text, photo or anything else that would confirm there's a legitimate emergency.
So more often it resultd in ticketing, because there's no genuine emergency.
How can you determine a real emergency from those who are pretending? of course you'll have to stop them and check, common sense not so common these days.

What if they did the same thing they do in the US with the HOV (high occupancy vehicles) where if a car has 4 or more people in the car then it is allowed to drive in the bus lane?
The mmda tried a HOV lane on EDSA but unfortunately the enforcers and cameras couldn't see inside most cars, because of the tints.
@@GadgetAddict ah that makes sense why they can’t do that option unless they implemented a second rule that required the vehicles using the bus lane to have no tint also so the enforcers could visually inspect the vehicles or require vehicles to roll down their windows when passing inspection points like they do in Angeles City

But with the right policies and consistent enforcement, the potential benefits could be worth it.
It's definitely something worth considering again. Although for sure they'll face a lot of resistance like before.
why not put resisting arrest instead of refusing to sign. leans more to crime was committed than confusing the violator.

Buses in the bus lane should modify its features 1stly, their entry and exit door to the left side of the bus for passenger convenience and safety. 2nd, it must be PWD accessible in the exit door. This will be used as an exit/ entry door for PWD as well. LTO must instrict on this requirement before giving their license to operate.
Many buses were already updated to include doors on both sides.
As for pwd entry to the bus, they're already low-floor city buses with ramps.
i hope the enforcers can wear a more confortable uniform in this heat.

The mmda tried a high occupancy vehicle lane (HOV) on EDSA before.
It didn't work very well because neither the enforcers or cameras could see inside the vehicles because of tints.
Government should encourage carpooling.

It's the OR/CR that wasn't surrendered. But according to dotr, there's a show-cause order for that.

I'm just amazed of people's logic, just because the road is free, it's useless? it encourages you to use the bus as traffic is bad or worse.. or try the MRT especailly if going to malls. park in Alphaland and go to Trinoma.. faster, aircon and saves on gas.

I've seen them wave violators away from the bus lane before, on multiple occasions.
The result was always the same. When the driver got past the enforcer, they went back into the bus lane 🤦
There's around 40KM of bus lane on EDSA (north/south).
There are multiple openings for emergency vehicles to get in and out of the bus lane. And obviously the barriers had to be removed from the flyovers and tunnels, because of safety issues.
So long story short, there's simply not enough manpower to guard every inch of the busway, 24/7.
That's why tickets are issued and operations are held in random locations, at random times - to remind people that even if they don't see an enforcer, they can still be apprehended for misusing the exclusive bus lane.

The most common reason given is that they're in a rush or they're running late.
Chinese over production is not what is impacting America, what is, is excessive importation of Chinese goods. The US needs to get on the stick and start production for domestic consumption and export!
