- Many bus lane violators were apprehended by SAICT-DOTr.
Regular violators of the exclusive bus lane have learned where enforcers are most often placed to apprehend bus lane violators.
This operation took place in a new location, which serves as a reminder to violators, that an enforcement operation could happen at any time and any place - serving to deter violators of the exclusive bus lane.
These buses are able to move hundreds of thousands of commuters, while only occupying a single lane of the bus lane.
But with more and more cars and motorcycle misusing the bus lane on a daily basis, it’s only a matter of time before the busway project fails - unless you see regular enforcement activities like this.

What is laughable is that these are the same people who comment against enforcers that they are corrupt, impartial blah blah blah when in fact, if you have a footage of every violations they made when they were apprehended they were totally guilty.

Another wonderful video of accountability. I love how delusional these violators are saying they weren't in the bus lane when it's captured on camera with the evidence clear as day. As an SUV owner I can't stand most mc and trike drivers. They are wreckless and don't care about anyone but themselves. Twice I've been hit by a tricycle and they tried to blame me even though both times they hit me at the back and on the side. I dont know why civilians enforce the traffic laws instead of Pulis like in America. In America they have no say law is law.
Then they always answer with "Because I'm trying to make a living here", as if it's some free pass to do every form of idiocy on the road.
Yup. It’s so gratifying to see none disciplined drivers, whether 2 wheels or 4, caught and penalized.
Not only should the police be enforcing the law, with teeth, but there should also be a traffic court where a judge can determine whether or not you keep your license or pay a heftier fine.
It's all about who you know in the Philippines. I heard of a case where they were hit by a tricycle before & the police turned it into a sob story charity case and the victims ended up being the ones paying for everything.
Years later, the victim's extended family grew & married into families with police/LGU officials, and this also changed their whole situation.
Ambulances started being offered as express vehicles, police higher ups offer to prioritize cases, etc.

Shouldnt those seen in the video being apprehended but is determined to still run away have their violation upgraded to the second level? since its seen in the video that they are trying to move pass the enforcer?

They will understand, how difficult the situation is and the government will be forced to have a better public transportation. Phaseout jeepney and have a seminar for all the PUJ drivers. Those who will violate will be given a 1 year suspension of driver's license. Pedestrian who are blocking the lane in not loading section will also be given a ticket.

@gadget adidict maybe you could help the saic to show the video to violator to lessen the argument. or maybe one enforcer should be recording.
In the past, I have shown violators the footage - at the request of the enforcers.
But it's not always practical because there's lots of short clips which get put together later. So it can be challenging to find what you're looking for.
And even if you do find the right clip, it can be difficult to see on the small screen of the camera, especially because there's no zoom functionality on the camera itself.
Another issue is that sometimes the violator is just too heated and the best option is to actually just give some space.
As much as possible, you don't want to turn the road into a court, or a debate area.
maybe one enforcer should have like a tablet to video record if they argue put them in the service area to show the clip. if they didnt argue then delete to save space.

Suggestion: Ibalik ang NCAP for bus lane violation only. Gamitin ung mga camera para madali mahuli mga nsa bus lane. Kahit ung bus lane violation lang muna lagyan ng NCAP. Tignan natin kung di magtino mga yan
Wow, there are a lot of motorcycles over there. Probably why they are banned from the bus lane. I'm from Australia. We're allowed to use bus lanes on bikes over here, but probably only because there are hardly any riders.
Sana yang bus lane kung wala namang nadaang bus ay padaanin na ibang sasakyan. Tapos kung may bus edi pag bigyan na ang mga bus. Kaya lalong nag traffic eh. Ganun din sa bike lane. Pag wala namang nag bike padaanan na sa mga motor. Pag may nag bike edi pag bigyan mga naka bike. Para mabawasan ang traffic. Di yung puro pag papayaman lang ang gusto mga nanunungkulan.

There are other enforcers and they try to catch as many violators as possible.
Actually that reminds me of someone that complained that they didn't catch everyone.
But he was one of the riders that tried to evade the enforcers and kept arguing with them.
So while he's occupying their time, that's less manpower available to apprehend other violators that are also trying to run away or evade 🤷

The last part of the video, it seems like there is no longer apprehending officers. Thats the problem with this violators, they will always challenge the bus lane law. It seems like the violators are again not afraid compared to the time the penalty increase and MMDA special Taskforce is the one apprehending bus lane violators.

Enough already! Put cameras - fixed cameras, hand-held cameras, and yes, even surprise cameras - put them EVERYWHERE!. Too much arbitration and bullshit going on, which is a waste of time! A road is not a place to hold court! Raise the penalty for violators even more, ... this will help generate more revenue for the government! We also put the lives of our enforcers at risk whenever they have to stop a violator. This is dangerous! Who knows, the violator may be drunk, had a really bad day, or has a gun on his person! Contactless apprehension should be the norm. To renew a motorist's license, his computer record should show all violations have been paid. If a violator reaches an "x" number of unpaid violations, his license should be suspended or revoked. Motorists who drive without a license should be arrested and serve jail time and his vehicle impounded. That's how it is done in modern countries. Yeah, we need to put more teeth (and brains?) into our traffic laws and enforcement!!
They already have cameras that cover the busway.
They cannot be used for enforcement anymore because of the temporary restraining order issued by the supreme court.

A lawless society. Ride where you want, don't bother with helmets, shoes, licence, insurance, registration plate. Build your shop wherever you want, take over the entire pavement, steal electricity from the nearest pole, run an illegal taxi service, ride the wrong way down streets, carry multiple people, including children on scooters without any form of protection, and nothing of any deterrent value will happen.

Give some suggestion to the mmda, they should give much heavier punishment to the violators. Suspend their licensed for a month for first violation. 2nd violation revoke licensed. This will make anyone think twice before they think to pass to the bus lane.

i think the people who give attitude, argue, and even try to run away even after the enforcers stop them should also be given an additional penalty for either obstruction, evading a traffic stop, or disorderly conduct.

What I don't get is even if for arguments sake, they are indeed just on the line, isn't that a lane splitting violation anyway? Why isn't it ever enforced? Better yet why not erase that traffic law if there are no plans to implement or enforce them anyway
i guess what these riders consider the as the "BUS LANE" are the areas with barriers, if there is no barrier its not part of the bus lane. thats why they keep contesting that they are not in the bus lane because there is no barrier. para sa kaalaman ng lahat na ang buong left lane ng EDSA ay exclusive bus lane meron man o walang barrier.
There should be barrier throughout the "bus only lane" so that a rider can't argue that " nanggilid" lang.
those violators are hard headed. Given them violation ticket is not enough. Need more tough actions para magtanda. How about more bigger fines, confiscation of driver's license for a week and impounding of motorcycle? Maybe harsh but it might work.
