When I hear the instrumental version of this song, I think of the novel "Night on the Galactic Railroad" by the literary master Miyazawa Kenji. What the novel gives us is the glitter of a huge galaxy and stars floating in infinite space-time, the infinite depth of the black, transparent space-time and the endless play of time and space, the unimaginable vastness of infinity and the merciless laws of physics that govern the galaxy... Perhaps it is a connection of enormous gravity that cannot even be compared to the imagination of mankind... You won't find a single word in the lyrics of this song that reminds you of 'Night on the Galactic Railroad'. However, if you have read even one of Kenji Miyazawa's novels, the impression you get from the title, the sound and the lyrics is a deep connection with the novel. The only connection is evoked by the title, Giovanni, a common name in his country. It is not known whether KANAMI, who composed the music, was a fan of Night on the Galactic Railroad. And the same goes for Miku Kobato, who wrote the lyrics. But it can't be a coincidence that such a deep, eerie, heavy and austere sound evokes the masterpieces of the great writers. One thing is clear: they are giving me the same inspiration that the masterpieces of the great writers wanted to convey. It must be a longing and a dream for a huge, great universe and galaxy that cannot even be compared to the petty activities and quarrels of the human world.
And it's not even an instrumental. The only thing they did was to strip away the vocals. This is what Band-Maid sounds like without the vocals, totally amazing. No wonder I love them som much.
Love these white room performances! This is a new song when compared to the version with vocals! I can't imagine Miku being given this and told, okay, put vocals to it! But Miku delivered!
With the instruments only, you can clearly hear how progressive this song is. And all they did was to strip away the vocals, as the song is not an instrumental. They way Band-Maid compose and play their songs are truly amazing. Every Band-Maid song that I've heard (I have the instrumentals only version of Unseen World) easily stands on its own without the vocals. I love Band-Maid, they're totally awesome composers, players and performers. Add Saiki's and Miku's vocals..... totally amazing either way.
I saw this on bilibili after only knowing bandmaid for a short time and shared it with an Italian classical music critic I knew and he was "where the hell did you find this?!".
SO many people are sitting on a musical gold mine. Band Maid is waiting to be discovered...minds will be blown...mouths will hang open...a tear or two of joy will be shed...Amen
@@frankandre4385 they're discovered they are just pacing their own rise to fame. On the cover of Japanese rolling stone next month. They're making damned sure that money goes in their account. So many thoughts and feelings are tumbling over each other right now... (1) How is MISA not in every list of "best rock bassists"? (I just watched a video with that title and none of the clips convinced me any of those men were in MISA's league.) (2) Imagine the courage of Kobato-san to calmly hold a guitar and strum it occasionally while standing between these masters. I would crumble under the weight of the comparison. (3) Other thoughts and feelings fled my mind while typing the above.
Western music press are afraid of the many great Japanese women playing, bass, drums, guitar, keyboards, sings, writes music and lyric on a level above most western bands today. And they form all girl bands that beat most male bands out there.
Thank you for your great reactions. This time, I'd like to ask for requests for BAND-MAID songs. I've responded to a lot of Japanese songs, so I think you'll like them. Amazing music! Also fabulous video editing. I wonder how many takes were needed to get all the footage---some of the clips don't line up perfectly, but look great to watch.

01:26 this is the Band-Maid I live for: MISA & Akane playing two wildly different but complimentary lines.
Bass solo against syncopted drums... f##k...
