A nearby hike that is also pretty special: drive to the trailhead at the top of Rock Creek Road, then hike to Gem Lake. Take a lunch, and have a swim in Gem Lake or one of the other lakes closeby. It's a gentle hike, and extremely beautiful. Especially during prime wildflower season. Best to get there super early and on a weekday. The parking area can easily fill up on a weekend during prime season. Truly spectacular.
That brings back memories. Four Jeffrey used to be the campground our fishing derby would meet up at. Great area and absolutely gorgeous. Makes me want to head back up this summer. Thank you so much for sharing.
My guess at little tykes weight was 40 lbs, turns out he's 34 lbs. As many times as I've scoured my maps, I've always overlooked Tyee Lakes. Looks like a nice hike. And that was a huge campsite!
Yep....Bishop Creek is the place! But I'm biased, 3 generations have been camping up there and my kids make it the 4th. You nabbed one of the primo spots at Four Jeffrey!
