    Oh my God. That shot of Adaiza lake at 1 min. 30 seconds of the mirror view. I guess you earned that view with the 14 mile hike. Lucked out on the weather too.

    • @GabriellaViola
      @GabriellaViola  Рік тому

      yes 14 miles out and back, I wanted to keep going to iceberg lake but maybe next time...Ediza is mind blowing!

    Beautiful video and thanks for the upload Gabriela!
    For some reason, the video started with 360p resolution on my tv and I had to manually switch it to 1080p, I don't usually have to do such manual setting 🤷‍♂️

    • @GabriellaViola
      @GabriellaViola  19 днів тому

      I notice that YT does that to me to sometimes and I have to manual change it to 1080..so weird!

    Thanks Gabriella! I am hiking Whitney and White peak back to back and figure I should steal one of your mini hikes to add for a splash at the end!

      haha let know who Whithey goes, my friend is trying to get me to do that one but it seems very intense 😂

      @@GabriellaViola why don't you try white peak instead for your 14'er. It's right by the bristles cone tree (oldest known tree on earth). The good thing is you drive up to 10,000ft for base camp. Give yourself some time to hike over to the observatory and see how high altitude affects you. The difference would be that white peak is a 15 mile round trip versus Whitney which is about 20ish. If you can accomplish white peak with no issues, you can do Whitney no problem.

    Note that the road from Tioga Road to Saddlebag Lake for the Coness Lake hike is a very bumpy dirt and gravel road for 2+ miles.

    You have good taste and amazing photography! I just went on a trip to the Eastern Sierras a few months ago and did 4 of these 5 hikes and they were amazing! The only thing that I would add, is that for the Ediza Lake trail, you can also hike up to Iceberg Lake which sits right below the Minarets and is full of icebergs. It is only about 1 extra mile and definitely worth it. Also, for the Little Lakes Valley hike, there is a set of lakes called Treasure Lakes that you can scramble up to if you're feeling adventurous. You can get up to these lakes by scrambling up the boulders on the back side of Gem Lake. It doesn't add much distance, just a little steep so you have to be careful on the boulders.

      Thank you so much for the tips! We wanted to Iceberg Lake but my friend has some knee issues, few people we saw at Idiza were heading to Iceberg...But maybe next year 💙💙
