Damn YESSSSSSS!!!!! anything from "images and words"is great, couldnt go wrong with that. i would suggest your next Dream Theater song "Home" from the album "Metropolis part 2: Scenes from a memory"
TWENTY SIX years and 3 months ago our family hosted a Japanese exchange student he was a musician and the FIRST album he recommended was Images and Words he had got right before he came over to the states in '92. To say I was hooked was the understatement of the century. I had all their CD's even their older stuff but it wasn't until 7 years later in '99 that I meet a SINGLE other American that had even HEARD of Dream Theater. Now well over a quarter century of mind blowing music and they show no sign of slowing down. I'm just glad could say I've been there since nearly the beginning and that I can say I was thinking this band is amazing long before most of you were even a look in your daddy's eye let alone you even knew such awesome music existed. THIS boys and girls is what TRUE dedication to your craft and a LIFETIME of effort and practice yields. Transcendence
The Images and words album that this track hails from is a masterpiece! You'll love it!!! SO glad you reacted to this, one of my favourite songs of all time!! Maybe you'd also enjoy Orphaned Land, an Israeli band!! Check out All Is One or The Cave. Keep this up!! Greeting from us here in Spain!
Yes,they do have there own vibe. They are all graduates of one of those really really really good music schools as well. Again you keep on picking these gems from my past. Thank you. I haven't heard this one in a while. I AM NOT AFRAID!
Genocide is another song that is a trillion light years better ...heck, every song is on another level. It makes me wonder who the heck was producing their studio albums. After Unleashed, Priest starting sounding like Priest
This is Dream Theater. This album is close to perfection. Kevin Moore, the keyboardist, heavily influenced the spiritual aspect of the lyrics on the songs. The album is so diversified. Labrie's voice, Petrucci's notework, Portnoy's drumming.......utter enjoyment.
Yeah P!! Def took me on a journey back in time to when I'd jump in my firebird with my boys and take night road trips to wherever, rollin with the top down and music like DT blasting. Nice!!!
Maybe so but breaking down the 2 bands as a whole and their bodies of work....Metallica are 6 year college masters degree graduates...Dream Theater is the cum in the bottom of a rubber.
I guess that's why Metallica is still selling out stadiums 35 years later and Dream Theater with their one fucking hit is playing bars and county fairs..and fyi, I have commented twice so you can fucking get over it dip shit.
@@Brotha_Teresa dream theater is great but people might prefer metallica songs. They might like metallica 's riffs more. Man! You’ve barely scratched the surface of what dream theater is. The new album is great, from that one I would say do “at wits end” “pale blue dot” “viper king” and “barstool warrior” Check out some of dream theaters different side Commercial sounding(ish) - paralyzed - as I am - these walls - on the backs of angels - under a glass moon - 6:00 - the mirror/lie More epic songs - learning to live -lines in the sand - trial of tears - in the name of god - a change of seasons - octavarium Prog stuff - metropolis - solitary shell - scarred - dance of eternity - home - this dying soul - honor the father - endless sacrifice - dark eternal night - blind sacrifice - great debate More ballad song - another day - spirit carries on - hollow years And many more.
Yeah just personal taste i guess i think it doesn't fit well with the rest of album probably why it's a bonus track. Vocals sound bad to me in this song opposed to s2n with that beautiful melodic and peaceful chorus. Great album
June 3rd 2007, Idroscalo Park Milan, Italy :Gods of Metal Festival. DT were last band before the headliners ( Heaven and Hell). They came out and started the show with this song then James said "it's been 15 years since Images and Words was released, we're going to play all of it". I came several times.
PS if you want to hear what dream theater sounds like without lyrics check out the song acid rain by the band liquid tension experiment it is pretty much the same band without the singer
It cool to see someone actually “get” dream theater. They have a lotta different sounds album to album but they always have their signature vibe. Keep digging into their music you won’t be disappointed. I have heard every track hundreds of times and still can’t get enoug \m/. I subbed to see an album review for distance over time.
As I Am, This Dying Soul, Honor thy father, The Mirror, Fatal Tragedy, Endless Sacrifice, A Nightmare to Remember, On the Back of Angels, The Enemy Inside this is the Dream Theater songs you should listen to next
Omg, what's wrong with people. They begin to forget what the essence of music is. Technical is not mean better my friend. Dream Theater have 100 transitions in the song, Metallica have 4 transitions but that 4 transitions work better than 100 of Dream Theater. Music is about composing melody/riffs, solos, lyrics that really good working together. Metallica is #1 in metal genre if you think how they can compose really SOUNDING songs. Not shredding for 2 minutes. Dream Theater have good songs. But they also have a lot of song for just showing off. I hate when bands making music like it's competition.
@@garri5108 Yes and no. They rarely shred just for shred's sake (and when they do, you know it beforehand when they're shredding just because they can). An example is The Test That Stumped Them All, when the solo section are frantic guitar and keyboard shred, but it fits because it's just frantic playing in a song about a schizophrenic man. And they're more than capable of writing really emotional music (if you don't want to tear up every time you hear The Best of Times, then wonder what the hell is wrong with you). Yes, we all know The Dance of Eternity and Metropolis Pt. 1 exist, but they have said they wrote those songs just to shred because they could.

Damn YESSSSSSS!!!!! anything from "images and words"is great, couldnt go wrong with that. i would suggest your next Dream Theater song "Home" from the album "Metropolis part 2: Scenes from a memory"
I legit almost recommended this on your last video. I always watch your reactions. You rock. Don't quit!
Everybody in this band is an ace on their instrument
It amazes me . that all of a sudden. Such respect , appreciation. love , and understanding. After all this time. This music is reaching the masses
Lol! I was waiting for 5:09 best
You have no idea how much I've replayed that particular part!
When he cant even speak and just yells you know that shit is real xD
lol me too

WATCH THA SPARROW FALLING GIVES NEW MEANING TO IT ALL ......
As I Am and In the Name of God are both great songs by DT
'High Hopes, that's one I rode to' brooooo I love you for that, no joke, I HAVE to listen to it once a week, just spacing out with my thoughts.
Count of Tuscany, Count of Tuscany, Count of Tuscany!! I promise you a Dream Theater Mind blowing song!!! I promise you!
I watch this over and over... Not just because it's their most perfect tune, but again it's your facial expressions!!! :)
Love this! However, Judas Priest Victim of Changes off Unleashed in the East is waiting. Complete your training with the metal god you must 🤟
Nick Johnson that song definitely sounds the best on that live album
@@kennethbeckhardt6210 ...100% It's so much harder, heavier, and faster. I can't listen to the studio recording!
Agreed the green manalishi sounds better on that album as well
Genocide is another song that is a trillion light years better ...heck, every song is on another level.
This was the first song I ever heard by them. I bought 1 album and side two is all covers. From Elton John to Deep Purple to Led Zeppelin
Funny thing is that A Change Of Seasons is considered by them an EP, and is longer than some of their own LP's.
Yeah P!! Def took me on a journey back in time to when I'd jump in my firebird with my boys and take night road trips to wherever, rollin with the top down and music like DT blasting. Nice!!!
And let me break this down... talent wise... If Dream Theatre are seniors in college... Metallica are 3rd graders
Ryan B , Facts!
@David Craft, here’s a hint about music you may not know...talent level has ABSOLUTELY ZERO to do with success.
@@Brotha_Teresa dream theater is great but people might prefer metallica songs. They might like metallica 's riffs more. Dream theater is talented but their songs don't hit me like metallica' s classic albums. Dream Theater is more talented than the Beatles or the Stones but people might connect with those bands songs more. It isn't all about talent.
Congratulations on 200k subscribers... well deserved keep up the great recactions... number one
Dream Theater - Another Day
Awesome you heard one other of their songs first, because this was the first song I ever heard and it blew my mind
HAH you want transitions? Listen to Learning to Live! Or Octavarium! Or This Dying Soul! Or best of all, The Dance Of Eternity!!
1990 I called out sick from work. I was home watching TV and this vid came on. That's where it all began for me with Dream Theater.
Judas Priest - Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver (BBC Performance)
A masterpiece!
My favorite DT song! Great reaction, thank you my friend
Try LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT if you like transitions
this song is amazing! it has lots of transitions but it's so elegantly wrtitten so you flow with the song naturally, that you won't even notice the transitions :)
Dream Theater - The Mirror
Yes!!!!!
Then Voices
The Mirror/Lie the only way it should be.
@@SatchFan555 agreed!
Jeez....this song is SO epic. I can't help but think of "Game of Thrones" or "Hamlet" when it's being played. Great reation/review. Glad it was you that did it.
*React to Pink Floyd - Echoes (studio)*
Amazing song!
Bigggg yes
Dream Theater is one of my favorite bands and has been for a long time.
Dream Theater - Under A Glass Moon
This track is a KILLER !! Go react to this.
Tight. So much going on,.....excellent texturing (if that's a word) especially those cool guitar slide/scrapes at the end. This song makes me wish I could sing. Accurate analysis bro. I was so with you on what you had to say,....and at the exact times too! I tripped out on that.
Man! You’ve barely scratched the surface of what dream theater is. The new album is great, from that one I would say do “at wits end” “pale blue dot” “viper king” and “barstool warrior”
Check out some of dream theaters different side
Commercial sounding(ish)
- paralyzed
- as I am
- these walls
- on the backs of angels
- under a glass moon
- 6:00
- the mirror/lie
More epic songs
- learning to live
-lines in the sand
- trial of tears
- in the name of god
- a change of seasons
- octavarium
Prog stuff
- metropolis
- solitary shell
- scarred
- dance of eternity
- home
- this dying soul
- honor the father
- endless sacrifice
- dark eternal night
- blind sacrifice
- great debate
More ballad song
- another day
- spirit carries on
- hollow years
And many more.
Viper king blows IMO s2n instead
After listening to the album more I would have to say that also. I don’t think it blows, but s2n is better
Yeah just personal taste i guess i think it doesn't fit well with the rest of album probably why it's a bonus track. Vocals sound bad to me in this song opposed to s2n with that beautiful melodic and peaceful chorus. Great album
Long time since I've heard this song. Great reaction... Keep up the great work...
A change of seasons (live 2000)
June 3rd 2007, Idroscalo Park Milan, Italy :Gods of Metal Festival. DT were last band before the headliners ( Heaven and Hell). They came out and started the show with this song then James said "it's been 15 years since Images and Words was released, we're going to play all of it". I came several times.
You have to react to Dark Eternal Night by Dream Theater
Yeah, he'd definitely Hold-on-bruh on that cowboy saloon piano bit :)
I think he's ready :)
Constant motion
Wack
That Album is so underrated
All five members of the band are on 10 in this one. Dream Theater is a special band. Great reaction, man.
Devin Townsend project - Deadhead live at royal Albert hall.........you won’t be disappointed.
As I Am, This Dying Soul, Honor thy father, The Mirror, Fatal Tragedy, Endless Sacrifice, A Nightmare to Remember, On the Back of Angels, The Enemy Inside this is the Dream Theater songs you should listen to next
If Metallica is the kings of transitions, then Dream Theater is the Gods of transitions :D
@@garri5108 not really, they're number 1 in trash metal, its a different genre, dream theater its progressive metal and rock
One of my all time favorite songs. Great job!
Finallyyyyyyyy a Dream Theater song !!
Plz do As i am by same band Next 😃
If you ever get the chance you should definitely check them out live. Such an amazing experience.
Kevin Moore era Dream Theater is the best Dream Theater.
DREAM THEATER - Scarred
👌Scarred is definitely one of their best songs.
Lets not forget about The Mirror/Lie
@@mangafreak923 Six O Clock too. If I put the actual title (first song on the "Awake" album) it would show as a timestamp.
Perfect Song, perfect Reaction....this was the first song i heard of them 1992, so many years ago.....the whole LP IMAGES AND WORDS is a timeless Masterpiece!...lots to discover in the future...you just scratched the surface.....are you ready for CHANGE OF SEASONS?.....ther ultimate EPIC!
Gojira- the heaviest matter of the universe
This is one of the first CDs that I ever bought. Seeing the video for this song made me plunk down my hard earned grass-cutting money. It's still my favorite DM album, start to finish.
