He was out out of control during that incident, whooping and yipping. Multiple times attempting to jump out with his partner telling him no, get back in. Then after he shoots the 2 guys,he is bouncing around, amped to the tits telling everyone he shot them, he shot them both. His partner should have backed off from the front of the chase, Crespo was unsafe that night. If he wasn’t working that night he probably would have shot someone else by now.

Honestly, the conviction is warranted. He didn’t have to jump out of the car and attempt to shoot them not once but three times. Even if you thought shooting was good idea because of the potential danger of maybe facing someone with a gun, you could’ve aimed for the vehicle and tried stopping the vehicle in general. Not taking the action of going for the kill to get the job done. This guy was sporadic and you can clearly see, not cut out for this line of work. Even if the cops gave him proper training, a trained officer shouldn’t and wouldn’t act at emotional impulse like this. I live in Newark, and I’ve heard about this case and was honestly wondering the outcome. And after all the evidence with the body cam footage and the results of his actions, I’m not surprised. I’ve seen the funding page for his legal defense and even then after everything revealed and the conviction- I highly doubt they’ll meet that goal to “help” him.

A bigger indictment on the Newark Police department (and the psychological exam) for hiring someone who had obvious learning disabilities/mental issues and never should've been a cop. They had officers with short time on the job working together in a dangerous part of Newark at night. You are probably a cop. Don’t you get it a police officer is supposed to enforce the LAW NOT HIS WILL WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENS WAY TO OFTEN. Did you even watch the video from this officer’s/ convicts bodycam. Ok they took off on the cops and had a gun I admit not a good idea but also shouldn’t be a death sentence tried convicted and executed right on the street with no DUE PROCESS (do you know what that is). So since you are so knowledgeable tell me when those guys took off on the cops and began a high speed chase what was the goal of the officers chasing them? To stop them RIGHT ? Or was it to kill them ? I vote stop them. Ok so watch the bodycam footage of officer/ convict Crespo and you can see they came to a stop 3 times now the first stop wasn’t clear to me if there was something in front of them that made them stop or not but I can tell for a fact that the second and third time they came to a 100% stop they did it of their own accord there was nothing in front of them that forced them to stop. Isn’t that the goal of the officers to get them to stop and then safely take them into custody. Well they came to a stop and officer idiot jumped out and started shooting at them so they were forced to pull off again. Why was he the only cop that did that. Oh yeah he was pointing the gun at him right? Wrong if you see during the chase at some point there was an unmarked blue police car riding parallel to them why didn’t they shoot if according to crespo they were pointing the gun. Well for one they never pointed the gun at any of the officers, they certainly never fired the gun they had it was found on the floorboard of the car after they were shot. And if this cop was so afraid for his life why did he repeatedly keep jumping out the car and shooting even when his own partner told him over and over again to RELAX AND DO NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR. Watch the video again his partner even told him to FORGET ABOUT THOSE GUYS, quote on quote. I bet you right about now he’s wishing he did exactly that. I hope they make an example of this bad actor and give him LIFE WITH OUT PAROLE ( LWOP). And believe me I know that they will use interstate compact to send him to North Dakota where nobody will recognize him but in prison sooner or later everything comes out and it’s usually the corrections officers who put out there. So seriously no joke please explain to me how in your opinion you believe this officer was justified in his actions because I would love to know seriously. I can’t imagine how anyone can justify that and I’m not against the police either but what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. We live in a divided world and it’s only getting worse and it’s because some people can’t admit when they are wrong or the people they represent are wrong like the police unions, have you ever seen a situation that the police union representative says that the officer was wrong in his actions. Have you ever heard of a situation that the union doesn’t back the officer ? I never have. Is that even possible that never in history a cop was ever wrong in his actions. Enough said. So on your next tour of duty remember what you are out there doing. Protecting and Serving the Public. And I know that there are a lot of cops out there that are afraid and it’s that fear that makes them over react and end up hurting or killing someone who didn’t deserve what they got. But not in this case, in this case the officer wanted to kill somebody maybe to see how it felt or maybe he was bullied by black guys in high school and thought it was payback time I don’t know but this cop wasn’t scared that night but I bet you he is crapping in his jail house jump suit right about now. I don’t feel not one drop of sadness for him he deserves what ever happens to him in prison, at least he has the opportunity to defend himself and that’s way more than he gave those 2 homeboys in the car. I wish I could tell you what I do for a living because I’m sure you will tell yourself he’s against the cops because he’s a criminal. But you couldn’t be more wrong if you tried. Clue alphabet soup.

@@user-FEELmyREELTo add another twist to this…The passenger who was shot in the head and survived was murdered 2 weeks after leaving the hospital. My guess is that he must’ve had some kinda beef that motivated him to have a gun to protect himself. Newark is a VERY dangerous city so the “rather be caught with it then without it” mentality is understandable to me.

Only shit hole cities have these problems with hiring cops. If you live in a small town, they don’t have ANY problems hiring people. Infact they have far more people applying than openings. It’s only cities (pretty much every single city in the USA) that has these hiring problems.

Exactly how I feel. But wait a minute which criminal are you referring to is it the guys in the car or the guy who keeps shooting at the car because as of several hours ago he is a convicted killer. So hey he lives by the gun so let’s not get to choked up if officer/convict jovanny crespo gets what he deserves. To bad for him that where he is going he can’t use no gun.

It is imperative that all charges and wrongful convictions against the officer be dropped. He was simply carrying out his duties with honor and should not be held accountable for the actions of the suspect. The blame lies solely with the suspect who was operating a vehicle illegally and engaging in reckless conduct, ultimately resulting in the tragic loss of life. In such a situation, the use of deadly force by the officer would have been justified in order to protect the public. It is unfair to shift the blame onto the police for the criminal actions of others, especially when they are risking their lives to uphold their noble duty of protecting citizens.
