I have a Perry near Medina County that is on a slope, I had two home inspections. The second inspector pointed out the sloping issue. Perry assured me that the foundation would not be an issue and that it is solid. I am concerned since my backyard is at a sloping angle. The information you have provided has been very wealthy indeed.
Thanks for the detailed video! You’re really thorough. Another con that might be viewed as a pro for most people, is that all the new build homes are exclusively open concept. While open concept looks glamorous and is great for entertaining (if you don’t mind cooking, cleaning, and entertaining at the same time), it has its issues. I deal with food smells, noise pollution and a lack of private space. Also if young kids are playing they often run through the kitchen which can be a danger if the oven is open or knives or are out. When I entertain I prefer to do the cooking behind closed doors. Sometimes when I’m in the kitchen I want to watch something on my iPad, while my family is watching tv in the living room. If I turn on the sink, blender, garbage disposal, or vent, they turn up the volume and it stays up 😂. I’m not one to invite my guest to cook and clean with me although it’s fine if you are someone who doesn’t mind that. More often than not we end up ordering out when we have company. They see us cleaning after dinner and they always insist on leaving the mess…which is visible from everywhere corner of the house if not immediately picked up. Sorry for the rant! I wish builders would consider closed concept. The feeling of being too closed in can be mitigated with windows, skylights, and glass doors…and slightly bigger rooms.
All on price point for sure but when it comes to subdivision builders: Highland, Perry, Coventry, Monticello, David Weekey, Scott Felder, Chesmar, and Toll Brothers just started building here again. Just to name a few.
Prop taxes in Texas are insane. But the lender needs to estimate the prop taxes correctly. Better to over pay than have a shortage. My house assessed at 307 and have a 10800k tax bill lol. Thank god I’m tax exempt or else that would be bank breaking

Why no sheathing on all of the shear walls?
Are they still installing cardboard in place of 1/2" plywood or OSB?

Where do you live? I've never seen any property taxes that high here in San Antonio.

That’s extremely high. Where do you live? I can’t say I’ve ever heard of a property tax rate that high anywhere near San Antonio.
