The issue is that Square just doesn't punish admitted cheaters in PvP, they havn't since Season 2 of Feast
I'm gonna be honest... I care less about wintraders and more about people using auto plugins to CC me the exact moment I hit the limit break. The people who actively ruin games by using tools to give them advantage.

Pvp cheating has always been a thing, even back during time there was Feast
People gotta be people. There will ALWAYS be drama, it is just that usually content tends to overshadow the drama (i.e. 6.0 release, savages, etc.), but in a content lull (which happens usually at the X.3 or X.5 patches) these things get noticed more often as content creators need to pump numbers up. PvP cheating has been a thing forever even with the revamp, the best Square can do is just take them off the leaderboard if there is a proven record of win trading (even then it takes weeks for them to investigate).

Pvp "drama" always been around. Back when we had Feasts, there always people trying to win trade this is not new. Honestly, it's dumb for CC. There is no amazing reward for topping cc rank. These people wasting money for some shitty bragging rights. At least during Feast it was for unique mounts.
You can do frontlines roullete for most of your rewards.
Agreed, that is why pvp in ffxiv never got to grown into its own thing. It was bad back then, and it is still bad right now sadly...I will even say it is worst now since you can't even play cc with your friends.
@Lofi Piggy i blame the obsuered amount of crowd control classes have and spam. Even after you use pruify you almost get stunlocked shortly after or slowed down no way to really escape after that.
Long time PvP player and you are absolutely correct. The small amount of dedicated PvPers we had around back in the day still had drama. I have a friend who earned all the old Feast gear legit and people still say he cheated his way up there. I got Crystal first season and wanted to try hitting top 100 the second season but I was waiting 40mins for ONE RANKED queue. That was months ago, I can't imagine it now. PvP is fucking dead. Just run your daily frontlines and be done with it.
@Prism Heavy, honestly, i tried doing cc ranked, but it also has the most broken piece of shit. A unranked player, vs. Bronze silver and gold players. Even once i get into bronze, im still vs. teams that way above my pvp abilities, that like detering me from even try to do ranked. Better off running casual and pray i get my wins to get the garo mounts for cc.

But yeah, I would prefer doing daily Frontline rather spam CC and hope for win
What hurting the most is a lack of balancing, terrible netcode (the server tick is a joke for pvp), no group queue and insufferable cheaters/wintraders. Wintraders could easily be detected but that would be too much to ask for, wouldn't it?
no group queue is such a pain, CC is the only PvP what is a enjoyable.. kinda.. for me and then you need luck to be in the same team like your friends
Ranked CC is only enjoyable if you got to team with ppl that actually know to play, even you ended up lose because that way you can actually learn from your mistake and from the better opponents
If you play with ppl that know no shit, and don't follow your lead in the quick chat, is a recipe for inatant headache (at least for me)
Tl;dr just play custom match/casual, the playerbase isnt equipped enough to do rank & take criticism on their bad play
I had actual fun when healing for The Feast because a single second doing nothing would mean people died, even with shitty balance it was still an enjoyable experience. Until I got into higher ranks and the ping barrier was obvious.
I really can't believe casting a spell has so much client side handling, why the fuck can I keep casting shit if I'm literally offline? The animations are not even tied to the actual effects, you can cast a spell and the damage will come 90 seconds after the animation ended.
Then they decided to put bomberman into the new mode and an actual mathematically unbalanced mode. And everyone loved it. We lost.

ikr. literally at the point where it's for the love of hydelean, give 14 some sort of endgame that takes more than a week or 2 to do. some repeatable pve content...SOMETHING at this point. like 14 is much more in the public spotlight over the past couple yrs so of course there is waaay more publicity for the game. and actually put some kind of incentive to do it b/c lets face it, materia ain't incentive to do it..lookin at u criterion dungeons. *glare*
@@4NT1N008 I think the problem is, despite them saying months prior, Island Sanctuary is the exploratory zone. It seems no one realized how much of a big miss this would be and added to the incentive to do something overtime.
@@4NT1N008 I saw this shit happening before EW even dropped. Even if people didn't like Eureka/Bozja, it gave them something to do between patches. Not tying the new relic to DD makes people not wanna do it. People have NOTHING to do. I myself have went from logging in every day to logging in on Tuesdays, doing weeklies, then playing other games the entire week.

Ranked is so dead that there was a someone pushing good win rates with bard by essentially playing a MOBA support and setting up kills. The discord network decided to sandbag if the bard was on their team and they eventually stopped playing ranked. Their crime was not joining the primal pvp discord and calling our shot callers in front lines for stupid calls
Phew there are discord groups for PVP?!?, oh im so glad that that i got crystal rank for Season 1 and 2, since in SEASON 3 and 4 and i did not manage to get it and the playerbase has really dropped by a lot, but luckily you can always grind for frontline wins since current CC seems to be a nightmare to even play
@@soldierorsomething primal uses it as a way to gatekeep. Voice lobbies and everything for frontline and cc. Just use your character name and hop in the correct channel, look for people in your party list in voice. Lots of drama happens, lots of people get banned.
@@ltrpwd Oh so those are the 4 player premade TANK stackers that like to wipe whole teams on frontline, they are nice opponent to play against but if you get on their radar and you end up on the same team then they will kick you out from the frontline match right at the end so that you lose your win/xp :D

You can use "," and "." shortcut to move the video frames instead of rewatching the 5s back and trying to time it.
Anyway, I share the same sentiment, don't really care what people do in ranked. Even thought, some of those names are familiar since I used to play PVP a lot for the mounts.
I started the game like 2 months ago and it seems like there has been a new drama every single day I've played lmfao

Xeems doesn't seem to understand that it's not a lot of people that were helping them wintrade, you can wintrade with just two people, it's all you need.

As someone involved in this drama, *clears throat* this is old news, nothing changed, 0 consequences happened and nobody really cared about anything except the "Trial of Nergo" to shit on the cheaters/wintraders and then pretty much moved on.
Only the memes stayed so far and I think they will never let go of those since ffxiv is pretty much dry when it comes to memes.
It took me like 2 attempts to get the Rich Madge meme to stick in Xeno's chat back then...
Smol multi dollar indie dev company can't make "elo" account wide for some reason, shit match making that is easy to manipulate on top of being shit by itself, enforced latency that encourages ffxiv alex and no clippy and its extremely tough to play against these tools (duh). 0 balancing *looks at chiten, chainsaw, every stall job AND SO MUCH MORE :D*

I think the fact that SE even made an ability that deletes the target with a 3% chance kinda shows that they don't give a shit about competitive pvp
@@xviii5780 only 95% deletes 3% of the time, got to SAM for 100% 100% of the time... unless you got tools to stop you from hitting SAMs while they have their shield up...
Cheaters have always plagued PvP in FFXIV it's nothing new, the add-ons have always been there and they're actually quite easy to spot sometimes but reporting them won't do anything because you don't have "proof". I'd argue PvP as a whole was made worse in Endwalker, which was pretty hard to do considering it's never been close to a good experience. CC is an okay mode, RW is an okay mode and Frontline is the worst PvP experience anybody has ever had in any video game, yet that's the one that has a roulette/most soul crushing achievements for some unknown reason. Frontline needs a massive rework; needs to lose the whole 3 teams thing because it's awful, reduce the players per team so a solo player can actually have some impact on the game and reduce the length of each match. Would also like to see them reverting the changes they made to PvP jobs in EW but I doubt that will happen, a lot of people seem to think being stunned for half the game with no way of pre-purification to outplay it is good. Probably the same people who don't buff in dungeons and single-pull while sat looking like an Oblivion NPC.
Frontlines indeed is a joke. Most of the time it ends with a 2v1 against the winning team. And then it's also full of people like me who just mash some random buttons for easy exp.

its similar to when speed runners get caught cheating, even if they only cheated ONE run, it makes the entire community question the legitimacy of all their runs, and often times its found out that older runs were also faked... so that person SAYS they only cheated S2 and did the rest legit, but there's just no trust at that point, lol. The saying i heard growing up was "once a cheater always a cheater" but i think "once a cheater hard to trust" is more accurate.

I am not going to mention how I strongly disagree with the idea that "You gotta cheat to win in game or real life", the overall idea of a niche like raiding, PvP, or anything, not only in the game but real life as well, is that people need to maintain the enviromnent, is not about the people who does not give a flying fuck about it, is about the few who actually cares.
Sadly those scenes in FFXIV is like that since ever, PvE and PvP, and SE does not do shit because they keep earning money with the hundreds of bots, and everything else.
Example: People been botting as healer in ROULETTE since ever, if people want this bad to play mobile AFK farm just go play another game.

It's funny how crystalline conflict has so much more exposure about win trading when feast rankings were ALWAYS full of wintrading and that's why you wouldn't see many changes from who's top 100 and yes even their alts win trade. Win trading was also a double standard back then. Close groups of rankers would win trade (sometimes called out for it but it was never a big deal) however, if a new person(s) the regular rankers noticed were wintrading, they would all go out of their way to focus the new ranker and talk big about how "bad" wintrading is... aka, "I can do it but you cant" mentality lol my guess for the reason wintrading is being discussed more now is a) content drought and b) pvp community has increased. How did it increaset? Well, most feasters HATE crystal conflict and the way frontlines is so they have either quit pvp in ff14 altogether or play it sparingly. Don't get me wrong, they will still play competitively but you'll hear them all the time crying about how pvp isn't the same; mainly because they're getting steam-rolled by "newbies" now unless the feasters are running in a pre-made party. Anyway, the small amount of feasters who monopolized the rankings were replaced by the many casual pvpers due to the new mode and pvp system so there's actually MORE players interested in pvp now which means more mouths talking. That's why everyone is paying attention to "drama." Unless you witnessed the wintrading yourself, you wouldn't know it but 99.9% of the feasters I know and are friends with on Crystal DC have taken part in it altho they would never ever admit it (because you're not supposed to admit these things anyway, it's one of those "Don't speak and it never happened, everyone is happy").
People really take pvp seriously in a game where it takes 3 seconds for server tick to register stuff lmao
You just need to see in to the future and use your GUARD, before the enemy team dives and stunlocks you :;D

This for real ? This has been happening literally FOREVER. It's why I can't take rank PvP seriously. You'll always have one person on your team that does 3 times and do like 10k dps. It's sooooo obvious when it happens.
Its a game. Its meant to be FUN. Its meant to be a place where you dont have to deal with bullshit like cheating. The fact it still happens doesnt mean you have to accept it and live with it. Fuck it. Get angry about it.

I'm sure they make this into drama to have a way to avoid real talks about real issues in the game, we all know how well criticism and the ffxiv community go together.
I love all the drama that’s been leaking out, it’s great content especially our cute strummer reacts to it. But honestly I’m not even surprised at all, these dramas has always been in FFXIV since years ago and just not really released in the public. Now that the game has clout, the stench now kinda is noticeable.

What's more depressing and sad is that all this 'drama' over CC rank 1 stuff is like superficial and copypasted assets minus a numerical number for all seasons. This isn't like before where mounts and stuff were involved. This is straight up bitching and crying over a T-shirt that has the number 2 on it instead of the number 1.

Maybe im just a boomer but what the ACTUAL FUCK is the point of putting one frame images/memes? Does it benefit them as a content creator to have people constantly pausing the video every 5 seconds and backtracking to read/look? It's not so bad when done sparingly but JFC this video gives me Forrest Whitaker eye. Like I get the whole witch hunt thing but if these players are as infamous in EU as this appears blacking out/changing the names would have gotten the point across just as well, especially if they are indeed banned.
Ranked is full of auto bot cheaters that has the rotation done for them, yes you read that right, the one game mode where there is only a handful of buttons has people who use a cheat prgoram to do their abilities for them. Including auto shield and auto heals and auto cleanse.
Fightning games in general have pretty acurate ranking systems. Yeah nowadays you may have someone cheating online with a bot but those are usually far from being the top 1 player on the ranks. What I want to say is of course it is possible to create a pvp environment which cheating is not the best way to win, other games can do this why FFXIV can't? Counter Strike, SF5, Guilty Gear: Strive, all those games have strict cheating policies and you just lose your account.
so I disagree, you don't need to come with the mentality that everyone will cheat in the game. That only happens if the company/devs doesn't care about it.

I was interested in pvp and joined pvpaissa about a year back. It was the most circle jerky server ever with mods getting a severe high off of favoritism. They gave me a warning for "shit talking" in discord when they totally missed all social queues and missed that I was having a mutual exchange of tongue in cheek jokes with other players. But because the mod didn't like me and even passive aggressively called me egotistical, I was given a warning but everyone else seemed to have gotten a pass. I just took it upon myself after that to leave the discord since that shit was rotten to the core with shit attitude mods. Lifes been great, I recommend not giving a shit about pvp in 14 :D
Apart from the drama, the one thing I find hilarious is the narrator trying to sound like louisiox.
This is why I hate competitive games, because people are either paying for first place or cheating / exploiting for it, there is no in between.

Nergo has been openly wintrading and cheating for years now, the whole Revival discord is a shitshow and they are just openly discussing / planning wintrading, no one cares anymore, even with all the evidence they will never get banned. Like 10 of the top100 queues outside midnight to 5am when they wintrade around. At the end of the day PvP is dead because SE doesn't care about it, no balance changes even though clear issues, ranked rewards are still utter dog and none of the cheaters were ever banned. I couldn't care less about cheaters and PVP. PVP is the most broken RNG luck based bullshit there ever was. Unless you're standing on some cliff just running around in circles to avoid being kicked you will not survive PvP. No one plays it fair All you get are people ganging up on one person six on one like that person has even a snowballs chance in hell of escaping or surviving. No one does the mechanics of the PvP. It's just one giant rage inducing meat grinder. Skill doesn't enter into it. You're running around with a slingshot in your hand while everyone else has AK-47s and rocket launchers

I did care until they nerfed SCH and add rank decay for S3. After those announcements, I knew rank match was dead. Yet, the community in ff14 forums saying I don’t know what I’m talking about. Now in season 5, NOBODY CARES!!! Just silence……..

I just doing it for the false monarchy armor. I think I count you have to do like 108k points to reach lvl 25. which is around 154x in 1 series, if you lose all cc match. did it like 10 a week, done.

NGL, super disappointed that this was just about wintrading. This isn't even a good story. Win-trading occuring in this kind of environment is the default, not the exception. You should already be assuming it is happening.

start up a company. grow it then garnish wages. lay off people reaching pension marks and outsource work. don't want to start? add like small time charges like administration fee towards any work you do. keep adding nonsense charges till your customer sees the BS.
Coming from online multiplayer fps this isn't drama just complaints about the system getting exploited and players getting screwed over so something akin to griefing
