The Rin clips make me so irrationally furious. This is such a common tactic when someone tries to gaslight and manipulate. If an argument arises they lower their voice and talk slower to make the other party look hysterical. Ive seen this so much from my latest ex. This tells me excatly what kind of a human Rin is. This fake calmness sickens me.
It's not even irrattional, when you've experienced it before red flags turn into blaring neon signs and you wonder how the hell others aren't seeing it so clearly. I'm sorry you had to deal with that from a partner.
Thats what Rin wanted to do. Gaslighting is to cause 2 reactions: to make the party to feel guilty/relent or force the other person to react in a negative way. Its easier to establish a "this person is too upset or unreasonable" narrative that way.
Streamers are only remotely average at this game because they send all your stupid goons raid partners into all servers to shit the pfinder and raids of other legit players, all their little minions on discord to disgust all the other players from the game and raiding scene, be it on NA or Eu servers this includes Serenaya and Xeno too with Rin. It is a buiseness model.
Wave: talking about the strat very seriously and explaining his point. The group: why are you angry why are you raising your voice? 🤡 Wave: not saying anything so they won't gaslight him again. The group: he didn't help us in creating the strat. 🤡 Wave: trying to communicate with his co-healer and getting ignored. The group: he had communication issues. 🤡 Wave has a very soft voice and he talks a bit fast when he's serious or passionate but not once did I hear him scream or yell and yet they had the audacity to gaslight him into thinking he was the problem. 💩 Also, Rin should STFU. The way he was talking down to wave was so fking lame.
He can't read the logs because he has no idea how to play healer. The lesson learned from this is : if you haven't *ever* played healer in savage/ultimate content, generally shut the hell up
It's so weird they were trying to defend themselves, but the more they talked and showed clips, the more the made themselves look bad. They said he wasn't communicating but then showed videos of him communicating. They tried to say he was not willing to work with the other healer but then show videos of the other healer not wanting to talk to him. Do they realize they proved his case even more than defending themselves. It kinda makes me lose a little more respect for them than when the drama first broke out. At least before I could think it just wasn't a proper fit and move on, but now it just looks way worse than it did before the defense video.
I think that they either panicked and scrambled to make a reply video asap, not thinking out their arguments and defense, expecting people to automatically take their side "because streamer/balance mentor/whatever". Orrrr, they seriously are so deluded as a group that they genuinely believe they're not in the absolute wrong here. Idk which one is better tbh. But the fact that the original video was quickly made private when it was clear it had the completely opposite results, leads me to believe it's mostly the first alternative.

These people (Rin and crew) aren't even selfaware enough to realize this. It's pathetic. Oh yeah. He's always gas lighting. Remember when Rin was struggling with the tornadoes during prog? For reference, Rin kept blaming others for his placement and wiping the group. Someone in his chat called him out after he went on a 2 minute long rant about how the other guy (who was doing the mechanic right) was an idiot for not eating shit for him. Rin popped off on the chatter and then banned him. He got called out a few more times and banned other chatters while saying he's right and chat has no idea what they're talking about because they're not world first progs, even though the majority of the watchers know how to do the mechanic from either watching others or experience. About a half hour later he said something to the effect "yes. I'm making mistakes. I'm not perfect. But the other guy should be adjusting to my mistakes!"

Before Rin blew up in the raiding community, when he was still known as "Avenger Kusari" I do recall him saying something along the lines of "never adjust for someone else, they'll never learn that way" so like if you were doing a mech perfectly but someone was in your spot, you were supposed to go to your spot anyway to "teach them a lesson" but... I always felt like that was wrong-think. I mean, sure sometimes it can't be helped, sometimes mistakes happen, but... come on, we're not children that don't know any better... that sort of "cold parenting" doesn't work here. To me, I always instinctively try to adjust and cover someone else's mistakes because I want the group to be successful rather than be "king of the world" or w/e.
When he said "I have to play back and forth because the healers won't communicate with each other" what he really means is "ONE healer won't communicate with the other, but that healer is my friend, so I have to use wordplay to make it seem like both their faults."
I once raided with a healer who told me, like Wave told Dice, not to heal because they had it. Initially I didn’t really want to cut back healing, as I was a SCH and they were a WHM, but I went ahead and just tried it. So I did. Then when healing was rough, I communicated where I could support and told them points where they could focus on mechs or damage, and they listened. In the end we were a fantastic healing duo because we communicated and worked around each others’ playstyles. Wave reminds me a lot of that healer. Straightforward but willing to listen. He will see his potential really come out in a better group.
This is something I feel like a lot of non-healer mains don't get. When you're progging you are ALWAYS optimizing. It might be bad optimization, you may have to change it later, but resource management through cooldown usage IS a part of prog.
Yep exactly what a good healer duo does. My static's healers are superb because they communicate and work with each others' playstyles. The static only benefits from it. Wave seems to be a great healer and definitely is wasted on this group.
Funny enough thats how healers should act in raids in any MMO. Some classes have better tools to handle certain mechanics when it comes to healing. As a SCH you're best at mitigating damage. As a WHM they're better at recovering from damage. You'd put your shield up to lower damage done to the raid team. And the white Mage would use their bigger direct heals to cover any damage that went through the shields. If both healers pop off at full power at all times, there could be a chance you're both out of cool downs when something unexpected happens. Like the main tank dies or a lot of dps die to an AoE. Etc etc. Communication is key between healers.

No it absolutely doesn't overhealing doesn't do anything pumping damage (like Wave was doing) is the better call because your group has less wiggle room for DPS checks. This ensures you can make sure you are getting as close to meeting that DPS check as possible. All overhealing does is waste mana. Especially because I remember Wave had a lucky pull and was able to draw a Lady of Crowns so all that he would have needed to do is 1 GCD heal and Lady of Crowns. Under the assumption Dice wasn't wasting all of his mana by casting shields that don't stack for zero reason.

I raid with him a lot. He is just passionate about things, rarely ever had any issue with him besides him liking to talk strats too much. Different from what the guy said in the vídeo about him not knowing how to do mechs and only following tool boxes lol
What I find funny is the group is supposedly hardcore yet the raid lead is like “I don’t know what’s wrong with the healing, I never touched healer” mate I’m a midcore raider who hasn’t touched healing yet discussing mit plans and talking to my healers has already given me a lot of knowledge about how the job is meant to be played as well as how to organize their tool usage. This entire thing feels like a joke.
This. I'm a former raider that went casual because of DSR burnout (cleared as a WAR fuck that encounter). I have seen this behavior before and it's just laughable. We made sure to study our logs in our downtime to understand who was having difficulties with what mechanic and go along with it as a group. I have been seeing ToP prog groups and this one Rin's is one of the absolute worst ones I have ever seen. It's like a "soft Party Finder" at this point. And then there is the "embedding" drama. man. I don't like Rin even though I have never met or talked to him. Absolutely shit-show that only makes his image worse.

No matter what they say; the original video showed that the other healer was wasting mana during downtime on healing, for no reason, and screwing themselves and the static over by not having enough going into a damage phase; before then gaslighting and allegedly complaining in DMs about their co-healer who wasn't doing anything wrong.
IKR.. Rin's behavior in the stream is like the f-ing definition of gaslighting. "You are literally yelling" - while Wave talks in a chill way. My brother in Hydaelyn, how are you going to expect good communication from a player if you constantly undermine them when they speak? People saying he always sounds angry, laughing at him and making passive aggressive comments in the clip makes it seem like he may have been talking and paying attention, but they just weren't listening or taking him seriously. Even if that's just how you talk to each other, this is a new member. Based on the clips provided it doesn't seem like they had equal, open communication and they treated a new member poorly even before the confrontation with Dice. They can either take this as a chance to be like hey look maybe this is a learning opportunity, or they can get offended and defensive. 🙄

Isweyr A’imagril was caught zoomhacking and Rin left his group because he didn't want to play with someone who used it. One namechange to Aya Magril to cover the tracks and all is suddenly good and well and they're back in the same static? Hypocrite.
I don't really care if people use zoom hacks. The vast majority of PC pf people are using cactbot. To the point where pf p4s was impossible the few weeks the cactbot dev was out of town.

The part where Wave is talking about the machinist messing up and they're admonishing him for mishearing the question is telling. So if I were to summarize this whole nonsense. Wave is an Astrologian who was just watching his co-healer and wonders "Why is my co-healer using up mana with GCD heals when no damage happened in the last 5 seconds and everyone is topped off like 6 seconds ago?" And from logs we see Dice, the co-healer Sage, is using like 5-7 GCD heals in a row. Wave asks to not do that cause he's wasting his mana (going from 3700 mana down to like 600 mana), and Dice takes offense to this. And from here a whole shitstorm occurs, the static leader takes Dice's side cause reasons, Dice does some unhinged shit with the whole "It's either me or Wave," Wave wanted to know why his co-healer was overhealing excessively and asks him to stop cause he thinks it's wrong. Also the whole "we died because of damage" is the dumbest argument for arguing why overhealing is necessary. You know what doesn't help surviving from damage, overhealing and using up all your mana before damage has even been done.

Dude I world progged/week 1 with Dice in abyssos and I believe 100% that Dice was the issue. We had constant issues with them and their healing. They never did enough healing and refused to talk with their healer and couldn't accept feed back. I absolutely believe the raid leader was tryna smash or very close friends with Dice because I would never ever raid with them again even in a casual setting, they were that bad.

43:06 I'm 100% sure that the one that was pushing "his" strat was Rin cuz I watched his guide about the new paladin rotation, and for some reason he chose the most complicate rotation when in Discord you have an easier one that does the same overall damage.
In my former group, my co healer started to exhibit destructive behavior due to one of our member being kind of a pain. As much as I could understand why and was sharing some of her feelings, it got out of hands. It got to the point that something needed to be done, but instead of talking to her, they decided to fake disband the static and regroup without her. That was so wrong that I just instantly left the static, it felt like I was backstabbing her. Wave is better off without them, it probably would have never worked out. If they want to defend a healer that is spending so much mana it could be considered griefing, then this is not a group anyone should be part of.
As a player and healer who was traumatized from a raid group during Shadowbringers, this shit is ridiculous. I won't get into my own story, but damn... Specifically when it comes to healing, I don't quite understand why it's so hard to communicate preferences for each other's kit usage. Not every player is gonna be able to read your mind, and getting angry or escalating these issues will clearly make things look worse on you (ESPECIALLY if you're streaming). With as bad as this incident is, it's hard to think about how much worse it was off stream.
Because you're assuming everyone that plays this game is a grown up. Sadly in my now 6 years time I've been subbed, i can pretty much say a good 70% of FFXIV players are manchildren.
Textbook example of valuing a friendship over a group, and different expectations. If it's a group of friends who want to mess around and have fun, having someone who's more serious and hardcore in that group is going to cause a problem. On the other hand, if your group is hardcore, then you need to have the resolve to say "You're my friend and I care about you, but you're holding the group back, please either learn your job properly, or step aside so someone else can stand in". Expectations need to be clearly laid on the table, and if there's a mismatch, then there needs to be a discussion about how to resolve this.
I personally hope they keep getting crap for being such a joke of a team. I hope they have difficulties clearing TOP and learn from this experience. Rin still being part of the team afterwards and even running damage control in stream is a great representation of his character also.

Have you watched Arthars video about this matter? In it he talks about Rin, and although I have never played or spoken or watched Rin's videos, Arthars description of him is accurate.
I love how Rin is like "oh no, I defended Wave" meanwhile in another clip "the other healer is solo healing the mechanic, he left, who do you think is upset?" or "it sucks being told you're not doing what is correct" but then in another clip go "i stand by my decision, wave got done dirty" my stance is fairly simple and as someone who got severely frustrated with my static a few times, if you leave out of nowhere because your fweelings got hurt, you're out of the static, easy as that. I got frustrated at a lot of things in my current static, but that was prog related, i stuck out the session and just reset for the next, i didn't leave early since that would be fucking over 7 other people. then the raid leaders reaction, i love how he says "despite the overwhelming amount of evidence against him" meanwhile shows clips that is overwhelmingly painting the picture AGAINST them. When Dice refused to talk to Wave (as the screenshots the leader provided shows) that means that DICE is the one not willing to communicate, not Wave. But it's funny how i've never heard of Rin before all of the recent drama (knew he existed since Twitch sometimes recommends his channel, but was never interested) first with that group that got outed for using zoomhacks, leaves that static because he doesn't want to be accosiated with them (fair enough, enough streamers like Zepla for example straight up said that she doesn't want to raid with anyone using these kinds of 3rd party tools, granted it's likely just more of an "just saying it here so that nobody can go after me type of deal) but then joins another static where Dice is also a known cheater, I can see Dice catching a ban real soon knowing how the FF14 community can be, it's obvious he's using 3rd party tools, it's public. I can see people mass reporting his ass and getting him banned, not even simple UI QoL tweaks, just outright AOE prediction cheats.

Oh god, Whenever someone starts telling me not to be angry, when I'm merely passionate just grinds me wrong. Feeling bad for Wave dealing with that group, they did him a favour by letting him go (in a backwards way) but it would have been way better if they realized that they were behaving poorly.

Remember that Dice is almost universally reviled as a shit healer and most other healers not only agree but openly dodge her... and Rin sided with her. That speaks VOLUMES if you ask me.
Holy shit that raid leader is frustrating. He clearly doesn't like wave. He asked him how they did in the trial and then speaks down to him because he didn't do a background check on the mch? You asked about their trial performance. Did you, as leader, find out who he was raiding with before and ask? And he misheard a single word and he jumps on him.
I'm not super surprised to hear some of them say "Oh why you so mad? He comes off so aggressive." That really is just how some people talk with no ill intent or aggression. I've played with a few people who are more 'matter of fact' in that way of speech and I've seen people be put off by it till maybe they realize later "oh that's just how they talk". That just comes back around though to meeting a bunch of randos online and agreeing to play together with a short amount of time to get a read on everyone.
Wave sounded more emotional than anything, i really think people need to watch their own tone before calling people out for how they talk especially if they don't feel comfortable around you; It's just going to make Wave (And honestly very likely myself) less likely to talk in general.
When the guy started to say that Wave was "rising his voice" and "being disrespectful" I was like "where is the proof?" and I got reminded of Amber Heard like claming shit like all the proof you need is your own imagination and then Xeno boom referencing Amber Heard. Wave's voice and manner of speaking to me is like absolute golden, I wish people would talk that way on my raid groups back when I played WoW, like Wave to me is literally the gold standard of how you should speak to people in voice comms. And even if you could argue that he got a bit emotional or maaaybe if you really stretch the argument that he raised his voice by 0.001db which could've completely shaked your emotional foundations, I would absolutely understand after being gaslighted in front of an audience. I can guarantee that probably none of them have actual real interactions with people in real life if they think Wave was being disrespectful, annoying, etc. Such a bunch of weak-ass drama queens, jesus f-ing christ man.
Lost what little respect I had left for Rin. How are you going to gang up on Wave when Wave was in the right the whole time, then tell Wave he is probably "feeling attacked" while literally attacking him with your friends. Then to take it further, condescending to Wave by telling him to calm down and stop yelling when honestly you can hear Wave sounds defensive and frantic more than angry or even close to yelling. Now Rin wants to just brush his own toxicity under the rug and say "let's look to the positives." I empathize with Wave. I'm not as sensitive as Wave is, but my first static went something like this even down to the "I was asked to join after being in their PF". Only my first static wasn't full of hardcore raiders, it was full of grey parsers. They were all friends with each other. I was just a random that joined their PF and was asked to stay. Fucking huge mistake, this was one of those friend groups that couldn't separate raiding goals from friendship. No criticism of this group's gameplay style went anywhere. Almost nothing ever improved and I was blamed for shit I wasn't responsible for because it's convenient having an outsider that isn't a friend to scapegoat. I was also belittled for making any attempt to review and improve the group so we would stop wiping to E6S enrage for 2 months straight. And it wasn't like I was just saying, "Our groups sucks, we need to be better." I was looking at logs to see what problems we could patch up easily like improving uptime by changing the way we did certain mechanics. I eventually left that static after having to reclear in PF for several weeks anyway and just clearing E7S in PF while this static was still wiping to E7S adds. I basically quit Savage after this. I got pulled back in for 6.2 and it's actually a very good time when you're raiding with rational adults and not a cliquey group of friends.
Holy crap. Your experience in ShB reminds me so much of my own experience with the static I left during this current raid tier. Same issues of friendships/relationships getting in the way of any valid criticisms, and we got to miD December without even clearing the door boss of P8S. Raid lead was throwing another person under the bus, and when I called it out for all to see, I was made out to be the bad guy and the shit player. I left so quickly. I PFd the next week and cleared the tier finally. I know part of the issue also was my own improperly set expectations in regards to level of skill and personal goals.
I’m so glad my static consist of old friends dating back all the way to Everquest & FFXI. We can yell at each other. Criticize each other. In the end, we are friends and it’s only a game.
generally if you get a good static you can all yell at each other. My static has been together for 2 tiers now and even though we arent the best, we all have fun and shout at each other when we do something wrong. A bit of witchhunting in the static to see whos at fault is always a good thing

If someone comes to raid unable to use voice chat theres kind of a problem. I would think in a hardcore raid group everyone would be expected to use a mic unless they we’re literally unable to speak due to a handicap. If a mic broke, the next day you should be able yo replace it.
I’m confused about the part that the raid leader says they had to constantly explain stuff to Wave. When they were trialing him and interviewing him did they even check his experience with hardcore raiding? He said himself he was new to this saying he started raiding in endwalker. Now it’s fair that he isn’t to your expectations but surely you’d expect to have to cater to wave solely based off his experience.

I don't think I've ever seen healers not get along like this. Most of the healers I have ran with in raid groups have been bros and the tanks have been bros with each other. The only guild drama I've seen personally has been with vanilla wow, but that was because 40 people is way too many for a raid and getting one guyed.
Because you make sure you get along with your coheal before you join the group. This kind of disagreement is just unresolvable IMO and you just have to find a better match.

I always felt like that was wrong-think. I once raided with a healer who told me, like Wave told Dice, not to heal because they had it. Initially I didn’t really want to cut back healing, as I was a SCH and they were a WHM, but I went ahead and just tried it. So I did. Then when healing was rough, I communicated where I could support and told them points where they could focus on mechs or damage, and they listened. In the end we were a fantastic healing duo because we communicated and worked around each others’ playstyles.
Wave reminds me a lot of that healer. Straightforward but willing to listen. He will see his potential really come out in a better group.
This is something I feel like a lot of non-healer mains don't get. When you're progging you are ALWAYS optimizing. It might be bad optimization, you may have to change it later, but resource management through cooldown usage IS a part of prog.
Yep exactly what a good healer duo does. My static's healers are superb because they communicate and work with each others' playstyles. The static only benefits from it. Wave seems to be a great healer and definitely is wasted on this group.

Funny enough thats how healers should act in raids in any MMO. Some classes have better tools to handle certain mechanics when it comes to healing. As a SCH you're best at mitigating damage. As a WHM they're better at recovering from damage. You'd put your shield up to lower damage done to the raid team. And the white Mage would use their bigger direct heals to cover any damage that went through the shields. If both healers pop off at full power at all times, there could be a chance you're both out of cool downs when something unexpected happens. Like the main tank dies or a lot of dps die to an AoE. Etc etc. Communication is key between healers.

No it absolutely doesn't overhealing doesn't do anything pumping damage (like Wave was doing) is the better call because your group has less wiggle room for DPS checks. This ensures you can make sure you are getting as close to meeting that DPS check as possible. All overhealing does is waste mana. Especially because I remember Wave had a lucky pull and was able to draw a Lady of Crowns so all that he would have needed to do is 1 GCD heal and Lady of Crowns. Under the assumption Dice wasn't wasting all of his mana by casting shields that don't stack for zero reason.

This. I'm a former raider that went casual because of DSR burnout (cleared as a WAR fuck that encounter). I have seen this behavior before and it's just laughable. We made sure to study our logs in our downtime to understand who was having difficulties with what mechanic and go along with it as a group. I have been seeing ToP prog groups and this one Rin's is one of the absolute worst ones I have ever seen. It's like a "soft Party Finder" at this point. And then there is the "embedding" drama. man. I don't like Rin even though I have never met or talked to him. Absolutely shit-show that only makes his image worse.

No matter what they say; the original video showed that the other healer was wasting mana during downtime on healing, for no reason, and screwing themselves and the static over by not having enough going into a damage phase; before then gaslighting and allegedly complaining in DMs about their co-healer who wasn't doing anything wrong.

So if I were to summarize this whole nonsense. Wave is an Astrologian who was just watching his co-healer and wonders "Why is my co-healer using up mana with GCD heals when no damage happened in the last 5 seconds and everyone is topped off like 6 seconds ago?" And from logs we see Dice, the co-healer Sage, is using like 5-7 GCD heals in a row. Wave asks to not do that cause he's wasting his mana (going from 3700 mana down to like 600 mana), and Dice takes offense to this. And from here a whole shitstorm occurs, the static leader takes Dice's side cause reasons, Dice does some unhinged shit with the whole "It's either me or Wave," Wave wanted to know why his co-healer was overhealing excessively and asks him to stop cause he thinks it's wrong.
Also the whole "we died because of damage" is the dumbest argument for arguing why overhealing is necessary. You know what doesn't help surviving from damage, overhealing and using up all your mana before damage has even been done.

Dude I world progged/week 1 with Dice in abyssos and I believe 100% that Dice was the issue. We had constant issues with them and their healing. They never did enough healing and refused to talk with their healer and couldn't accept feed back.
I absolutely believe the raid leader was tryna smash or very close friends with Dice because I would never ever raid with them again even in a casual setting, they were that bad.

In my former group, my co healer started to exhibit destructive behavior due to one of our member being kind of a pain. As much as I could understand why and was sharing some of her feelings, it got out of hands. It got to the point that something needed to be done, but instead of talking to her, they decided to fake disband the static and regroup without her.
That was so wrong that I just instantly left the static, it felt like I was backstabbing her.
Wave is better off without them, it probably would have never worked out. If they want to defend a healer that is spending so much mana it could be considered griefing, then this is not a group anyone should be part of.

As a player and healer who was traumatized from a raid group during Shadowbringers, this shit is ridiculous. I won't get into my own story, but damn... Specifically when it comes to healing, I don't quite understand why it's so hard to communicate preferences for each other's kit usage. Not every player is gonna be able to read your mind, and getting angry or escalating these issues will clearly make things look worse on you (ESPECIALLY if you're streaming). With as bad as this incident is, it's hard to think about how much worse it was off stream.
Because you're assuming everyone that plays this game is a grown up. Sadly in my now 6 years time I've been subbed, i can pretty much say a good 70% of FFXIV players are manchildren.
Textbook example of valuing a friendship over a group, and different expectations. If it's a group of friends who want to mess around and have fun, having someone who's more serious and hardcore in that group is going to cause a problem. On the other hand, if your group is hardcore, then you need to have the resolve to say "You're my friend and I care about you, but you're holding the group back, please either learn your job properly, or step aside so someone else can stand in".
Expectations need to be clearly laid on the table, and if there's a mismatch, then there needs to be a discussion about how to resolve this.
I personally hope they keep getting crap for being such a joke of a team. I hope they have difficulties clearing TOP and learn from this experience. Rin still being part of the team afterwards and even running damage control in stream is a great representation of his character also.

my stance is fairly simple and as someone who got severely frustrated with my static a few times, if you leave out of nowhere because your fweelings got hurt, you're out of the static, easy as that.
I got frustrated at a lot of things in my current static, but that was prog related, i stuck out the session and just reset for the next, i didn't leave early since that would be fucking over 7 other people.
then the raid leaders reaction, i love how he says "despite the overwhelming amount of evidence against him" meanwhile shows clips that is overwhelmingly painting the picture AGAINST them.
When Dice refused to talk to Wave (as the screenshots the leader provided shows) that means that DICE is the one not willing to communicate, not Wave.
But it's funny how i've never heard of Rin before all of the recent drama (knew he existed since Twitch sometimes recommends his channel, but was never interested)
first with that group that got outed for using zoomhacks, leaves that static because he doesn't want to be accosiated with them (fair enough, enough streamers like Zepla for example straight up said that she doesn't want to raid with anyone using these kinds of 3rd party tools, granted it's likely just more of an "just saying it here so that nobody can go after me type of deal)
but then joins another static where Dice is also a known cheater, I can see Dice catching a ban real soon knowing how the FF14 community can be, it's obvious he's using 3rd party tools, it's public.
I can see people mass reporting his ass and getting him banned, not even simple UI QoL tweaks, just outright AOE prediction cheats.

I'm not super surprised to hear some of them say "Oh why you so mad? He comes off so aggressive." That really is just how some people talk with no ill intent or aggression. I've played with a few people who are more 'matter of fact' in that way of speech and I've seen people be put off by it till maybe they realize later "oh that's just how they talk". That just comes back around though to meeting a bunch of randos online and agreeing to play together with a short amount of time to get a read on everyone.
Wave sounded more emotional than anything, i really think people need to watch their own tone before calling people out for how they talk especially if they don't feel comfortable around you; It's just going to make Wave (And honestly very likely myself) less likely to talk in general.
When the guy started to say that Wave was "rising his voice" and "being disrespectful" I was like "where is the proof?" and I got reminded of Amber Heard like claming shit like all the proof you need is your own imagination and then Xeno boom referencing Amber Heard. Wave's voice and manner of speaking to me is like absolute golden, I wish people would talk that way on my raid groups back when I played WoW, like Wave to me is literally the gold standard of how you should speak to people in voice comms. And even if you could argue that he got a bit emotional or maaaybe if you really stretch the argument that he raised his voice by 0.001db which could've completely shaked your emotional foundations, I would absolutely understand after being gaslighted in front of an audience. I can guarantee that probably none of them have actual real interactions with people in real life if they think Wave was being disrespectful, annoying, etc. Such a bunch of weak-ass drama queens, jesus f-ing christ man.
Lost what little respect I had left for Rin. How are you going to gang up on Wave when Wave was in the right the whole time, then tell Wave he is probably "feeling attacked" while literally attacking him with your friends. Then to take it further, condescending to Wave by telling him to calm down and stop yelling when honestly you can hear Wave sounds defensive and frantic more than angry or even close to yelling. Now Rin wants to just brush his own toxicity under the rug and say "let's look to the positives."
I empathize with Wave. I'm not as sensitive as Wave is, but my first static went something like this even down to the "I was asked to join after being in their PF". Only my first static wasn't full of hardcore raiders, it was full of grey parsers. They were all friends with each other. I was just a random that joined their PF and was asked to stay. Fucking huge mistake, this was one of those friend groups that couldn't separate raiding goals from friendship. No criticism of this group's gameplay style went anywhere. Almost nothing ever improved and I was blamed for shit I wasn't responsible for because it's convenient having an outsider that isn't a friend to scapegoat. I was also belittled for making any attempt to review and improve the group so we would stop wiping to E6S enrage for 2 months straight. And it wasn't like I was just saying, "Our groups sucks, we need to be better." I was looking at logs to see what problems we could patch up easily like improving uptime by changing the way we did certain mechanics.
I eventually left that static after having to reclear in PF for several weeks anyway and just clearing E7S in PF while this static was still wiping to E7S adds. I basically quit Savage after this. I got pulled back in for 6.2 and it's actually a very good time when you're raiding with rational adults and not a cliquey group of friends.
Holy crap. Your experience in ShB reminds me so much of my own experience with the static I left during this current raid tier. Same issues of friendships/relationships getting in the way of any valid criticisms, and we got to miD December without even clearing the door boss of P8S. Raid lead was throwing another person under the bus, and when I called it out for all to see, I was made out to be the bad guy and the shit player. I left so quickly.
I PFd the next week and cleared the tier finally.
I know part of the issue also was my own improperly set expectations in regards to level of skill and personal goals.

generally if you get a good static you can all yell at each other. My static has been together for 2 tiers now and even though we arent the best, we all have fun and shout at each other when we do something wrong. A bit of witchhunting in the static to see whos at fault is always a good thing

If someone comes to raid unable to use voice chat theres kind of a problem. I would think in a hardcore raid group everyone would be expected to use a mic unless they we’re literally unable to speak due to a handicap. If a mic broke, the next day you should be able yo replace it.

When they were trialing him and interviewing him did they even check his experience with hardcore raiding? He said himself he was new to this saying he started raiding in endwalker. I don't think I've ever seen healers not get along like this. Most of the healers I have ran with in raid groups have been bros and the tanks have been bros with each other. The only guild drama I've seen personally has been with vanilla wow, but that was because 40 people is way too many for a raid and getting one guyed.
