preston badplay Glad you got out of it! all these videos I’m binging made me realize nerve damage is common. It’s better and a lot easier to just not get it! Lol.
I truly regret I haven't done this type of surgery when I was younger, I never had a confidence it ruined my whole life, never been in a relationship because of this...now I'm 35 I kind of feel like why do I need it I'm not young anymore..I still decided to get a surgery but my doctor told me to wear braces for two years and I'll be even older, and I don't know will I still care about it..? My self esteem is lower than low.... can't even smile like everyone else :(
Summer Sparkle ive been exactly where you are! I’m 33 and I only had one year in braces prior (thyeybtold 2 years). It has boosted my self esteem greatly and I’m so confident!! I say go for it!! You probably will still care later. If you cared for 35 years you’re not going to wake up one day and not care anymore. 35 is not old! I wish I did it sooner! Don’t let fear hold you back! If you know it will make you happy then go for it!
Jaclyn Rae thank you for your reply, until today nobody really understood how it made me feel all these years but you...thank you. Now days I'm scared to choose the wrong surgeon, I have done a lot of researching and heard/read bad stories as well. I live in CT and I was thinking to get a surgery in CA thought they have more experience?
+Summer Sparkle My surgeon is in Delaware and he’s amazing!! He’s has like 30 years experience and is the one who founded the clinic I went too. He’s very thorough and kind. He will take as long as you need to answer any question and my ortho worked directly with him and my ortho is phenomenal as well!! I always felt ugly my whole life and it caused me a lot of internal problems but I feel beautiful now! I think you should do it!
I got jaw reconstruction surgery on my lower jaw a couple years ago since I had a massive overbite. The bone was sliced on both sides and my jaw was brought forward with two metal plates holding it all together on either side of my face. It was the most excruciating pain I've ever experienced. My entire face was ballooned out and swollen for months and was numb for just as long. But I would totally do it all over again for the knock-out smile that I've got now, despite the pain. You look so much better now post-op! These kinds of things are always worth it in the end. You look 10x more gorgeous than you were now ❤️❤️❤️
This is not a corrective surgery, but every day discomfort and regret! Numbness, spitting when talking, asymmetric jaw, rashes on face skin, and worsening oral intimate! I regret it I swear it Must be illegal!
A A Just because the surgery didn’t go well for you doesn’t mean that it won’t work well for others. From what your saying you either got a terrible surgeon or you didn’t do anything your surgeon told you to do after surgery. I’m to months post op and what your describing sounds like the first week or to after surgery, not the rest of your life. Also, if you jaw is still misaligned after surgery that’s a problem with you or the surgeon, not everyone else
I have been waiting for this! Thank you for letting us come along with you on your journey! I am so glad your recovery has gone so smoothly. Love ya, girl 😘
Thank you for the video. My daughter is getting jaw surgery in two weeks. I got nervous watching your video. I am trying to be calm. At the end i got so excited on your results. Congrats for being brave to accomplish it.
@@hmcsavknvowtwtb1649 Thank you for asking. She is doing great. The Dr did a great job. She went in friday and they were amaze that she was not bruised and her swelling was very minimal. She has pain. But her jaw is straight and back. I have been liquefying some chicken and dumpling soup and drinks to squirt bottle. At the beginning I struggle what to feed her cuz she was always hungry. You all are so brave. I dont think i could have gone through it. She is in her 6 day.
Wow thanks for sharing that! What a journey! I didn't even know you had had any surgery!!! You look fabulous! You are amazing and I'm just in awe of how you did that and it's so nice to see that you have a wonderful mom and caring husband. You are fortunate like me. My mom, dad, sisters and husband are the best!!
Hey Jaclyn, you are so brave for doing this! There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I had DOUBLE jaw surgery in January of this year- so I understand. My left Nerve was damaged and my surgery ended up taking longer AS WELL. 8 hours! Ahhhh... feels good to relate to someone. Thanks for sharing your story- I'll be sharing mines soon.
I am curious to know if you got all the feeling back? I had my surgery in 2003. I had both lower and upper jaw done as well my chin was moved forward. I have some nerve damage on the lower right part of my chin (I will drool and not know it). I also developed TMJ on the left side due to the lower jaw surgery. You seemed to have healed a lot faster than I did however the upper jaw portion complicated things for me. I was also sent home with Codeine and children's tylenol (I was 21 at the time so not sure why my surgeon thought that was appropriate) for pain and had a terrible reaction to it and had to be rushed to the hospital in the middle of a snow storm. Also 1 year post op I had a cold and my sinus's were acting up. I reached up to feel my face and noticed I had a plate protruding from my right upper jaw. I had to go back into surgery to have a portion of the plate removed (that was not painful though compared to the initial surgery).
Thanks for sharing this video. You solved so many of my questions and I’m so happy to see you back well. My surgery’s after 2 days so don’t forget me in your prayers 🙏🏻
Excellent! I had upper and lower completed in 2016. Top center alignment and lower extended 5mm. 2 weeks post surgery the screws holding the right side of my lower jaw broke free and I had to go in for surgery round 2. In total, 26 screws and 6 metal plates. From there it was 10 days with my mouth wired shut *NO FUN*. Biggest change is being able to breathe easier! Thank you for making this video and the others! It will be a HUGE help for those going in to have a better understanding on what to expect after the surgery for the next few weeks. Well Done!
I have had this surgery too and I was super excited to see this video!! I had my top jaw moved back and bottom jaw moved forward. Now 23 years later I am having a screw removed from my lower jaw because it has migrated out of the skin.
Are you having jaw surgery soon? I just had my double jaw surgery 4 weeks ago. Malnutrition has been the biggest issue for people from ALL the research I've done. Which is a HUGE deal because your body needs all its nutrients in order to heal itself properly yeah? Want me to send you what I use? Its been phenomenal for me. This recovery was supposed to be drastic but even to my surgeons surprise, each post-op appointment he tells me to keep doing what I'm doing.
of course!!! nutrition: first off I take 1 SOUL and 1 CORE per day. Its how I get all my antioxidants(takes care of inflammation), all my vitamins, all my minerals, essential fatty acids, Omega 3, 6, and 9, pluuuuus my greens. Its all in a 1 oz packet I drink everyday. No big shakes I have to gulp down, or big salads I have to blend up to make sure I'm getting everything. I've been doing this before and during surgery so my body can recover quickly from the trauma. And boy did it recover speedily. My surgeon was shocked during every post-op. It ships to your door too PS. lips: I get organic vitamin E oil. Easy, you can find it at Walmart. I rub that on and around my lips like chap stick. Every few hours I do it. Keeps them healthy and soft and hydrated while the swelling adjusts. Also you get really dry if your mouth stays a bit open for months. nose: Ocean nasal spray, always. No blowing, just keep it moist. Also get a humidifier. Put a dash of salt in there to increase the steam. Great for the chest and again keeping your nose moistened. shoot me an email Ill tell you more if you want there. :) rain.intl.madeline@gmail.com
I'm so glad you made this video. I'm terrified for my jaw surgery in December. Really I'm not even terrified of the surgery, more of the anesthesia. Does anyone have any advice? And also do I get a tube down my throat? I'm really scared they're gonna intubate me.
Jaclyn Rae I would love to meet you and show you the drone, but I was in hospital for a year and I got broke in to and everything in my house got stolen so I’m trying to rebuild my life from nothing now, I lost everything, even my camera canon g7x I was using for videos , everything gone ;(
Great video and great surgery amazing job to the doctor who did that beautiful surgery on 😊 I'm having underbite surgery in a few weeks and I'm terrified of going under anesthesia any tips ?
I had my lower jaw moved forward back in high school over 10 years ago now. I had so much more bruising and swelling than you did! I seriously looked like a chipmunk for at least a month. I'm glad everything went well for you!
thank you so much for this video. i'm going to my consultation next week after years of avoiding/substituting with alternative therapies. watching other people's videos/experiences definitely helps with my nerves
Christian Acain I did the same things for years!! I avoided this surgery like the plaque lol all that matters is you’re doing now and trust me it’ll be soooo worth it when it’s All said and done! Good luck!!
I have been given the opportunity to have jaw surgery but I have a giant fear of surgery that I was given the option today (note I don’t have to do it) and I’ve had about 5-6 panic attacks in only a few hours and haven’t slept in ages it’s nearly 4am should I have the surgery? Apparently it will help me breathe.
Thank you so much for this video!! I'm waiting to get the same surgery in July. I'm a bit scared, but I also really need it and want this treatment. Thank you for being in such good spirits and showing so much positive energy! It makes me feel hope.
Why did you need jaw surgery? the song that was playing on the radio when you were waiting for your husband to come back to the vehicle was Jon Pardi dirt on my boots it's a great song I like it because country music is my favorite
Hanna Taylor Hey! I just saw this! I got it because I had a childhood accident that messed up my jaw and made it quit growing on the bottom. I love country too!
Just had surgery, and i must say your vlog helped me know when the worst of it would be over. So glad that it went alright for you! you looks even better than before!!!
I am considering having mandibular setback surgery because my lower jaw sticks out. Thank you for sharing your experience!!! I'm trying to do all my research before I take on this type of surgery.
This is my 4th week post op since i got lower mandibular set back surgery i started eating soft food and i still have some swelling near the jaw line and cheeks and it's making me worry how is your swelling? You look gorg so happy this worked out for you 💕
NIRVANICA SANDE hey!! I don't look swollen at all anymore! I still am a little but I can only notice it. Got lot of feeling back even on the side that was severed and no pain still. I've been taking vitamin B complex to help heal the nerves. You still have a ways to go with healing so don't worry.
Jaclyn I'm recovering right now too. Switch over to 1 SOUL and 1 CORE per day. Its 100% organic, non-GMO nutrition. Easy packets I drink every morning. They're only 1oz. Enough synthetic nutrient-packed pills that don't do much. with these my body receives ALL of its required daily nutrients to function and heal itself at full capacity. Seriously. This has saved me, I'm sharing it with everyone. Get it here: myrainlife.com/ObtainHealth
Hi, how long does it took for your jaw to feel normal and functioning back to its original state. Does your jaw makes any sound when you yawn or while randomly opening/closing your mouth? Also, when was you able to eat regular food(non-soft), can you eat nuts and bite on fruits/veggies as you was able to do before surgery?
Duuuuuuude. I just had mine. Double Jaw Surgery. From all the research I've done, malnutrition is the biggest issue for people. THIS is what I used to prep my body for surgery, AND make for a quick recovery well done. Nutrition is huge when it comes to trauma to the body. The body needs the best fuel to do the best recovery. Seriously. I've been doing 1 SOUL and 1 CORE per day for a year now. Including this month. And my face has no bruises. I'm not hungry, even though I'm on an all liquid diet(because my body is getting what it needs-it doesn't want more food), my swelling is going down at an incredibly speedy rate according to my surgeon, and I'm getting feeling back in my face and chin which isn't supposed to happen fully for 4 more months.
I had the same surgery, but the opposite way. The moved my lower jaw almost 2 cm back. The surgery took 4 hours and I am still very happy about the results. You look very pleased with the result, and you should be proud of yourself .
I've got to have this surgery soon and I'm scared. Someone suggested watching UA-cam videos of the surgery so I would at least know what to expect. This doesn't look fun but you make it look doable. Thanks for the video! I'm glad you didn't die lol. (I hope I don't die too!)
I know this video is older and I was skipping through because I’m tired and I wanted to get to the point of the video. I stopped when you had the scroll bar about an insulin pump. My sister is T1d and we may be getting her a pump in the near future. As of now she has a Dex(dexcom) and I wanted to get some info about how they work. I know that they give little bits of short acting insulin and I think that’s all I know really. Is there any advice you could give about getting a pump? We don’t know very much since she was only just diagnosed in October 12017. I mean we know enough to take good care of her, but not as much as a family who’s child may have been diagnosed at a young age.
Hello and thanks for the video! I'd appreciate if you coud answer two questions: 1) Could you please share before and after pics (after could be even two or three months), so we can compare the difference between your corresponding facial appearences? 2) Did your insurance cover at least part of your surgery costs?
Wow amazing transformation. How many millimetres did you gain on your lower jaw?. I was diagnosed with an overbite, but the surgeon said to get it fixed I will need to get both my lower and upper jaw extended.
You look like a completely different person! I bet it was one of the best decisions you ever made right? That’s how I feel about me after braces!!! Beautiful results!
Thank you for sharing! Waiting for the go ahead to get jaw surgery in Glasgow, Scotland, so this calmed me down a bit knowing that the pain isn't as bad as I imagined!! Thank you again! X
oh my god you're so beautiful!!!😍 i love how you deal with it, you're so strong, so much people can't stand that surgery and we're all so proud of you. i hope you're happy with your new face and i hope your health is going better ❤️❤️❤️
Well you looked fine before was it necessary or just for beauty asking because I was told I need a gaw reconstrution for getting better and my gaw broke but I've not got it done
I am waiting for my results of my MRI, to make plans for my TMJ surgery. Thank you for being brave enough to show us what you went through. God bless you < i know what you mean about your eyebrows *;0)
Veronica Rocha Hahaha the eyebrow struggle is REAL 😂 I'm so happy this was helpful for you!! Good luck with the MRI!! Praying for a quick and speedy recovery for you!! You'll do great!!
1.) WAWA!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss WAWA!!! 2.) Thank you so much for posting this. I am going through this in August both jaws and I am becoming less and less terrified because you and others are sharing your stories!
I'm glad your doing better now. Gotta go back to the doctor next month on September 27 for them to schedule an surgery for my lower jaw and for them to reconstruct my one ear into an implant ear. My lower jaw is the cause of me having sleep apnea and by that I been wearing the c pap machine and my lower jaw blocks the airway of me breathing at night while I sleep. Hopefully everything goes well on this so I don't have to deal with this forever I'm only 29 and I want to have a normal life without sleep apnea
I’m aware that the mouth is wired shut with elastics for about 6 weeks. However does the surgeon loosen them at all during this time to let you open your mouth even a little bit??
Hello Thanks for your videos , Im in Australia and looking at getting the same surgery for minor teeth bite and cosmetic result and mostly moderate sleep apnea . Have you noticed anything better with your sleep since the surgery ? Is your breathing better ? , Do you feel any fresher in the morning ?
You are my holy Redeemer , I pray the world prays to believe in Jesus Christ , to be happy , joyful , living , caring ,n giving ... If u don't feel , n kneel, then y ou won't get healed...
im getting surgery in 3 months and im so nervous! seeing you in the hospital bed going for surgery made me cry!! what was the reason they put a tube in your throat?
Hey! I hope you are doing well now.. how does the new jaw feel? How long did it take for you to fully recover as in no pain, able to chew food normally and tlak normally ? I’m nervous about mine so watching as many videos as possible. Your inputs are much appreciated! Thank you!!
katylake212 Power of prayer! My recovery has been so fast and easy that my surgeon says he's never seen anything like it! He says in only one month out but look like I had the surgery a year ago!!! Annnnnd my bite has improved even more since surgery without the orthodontics and he said he's never seen that and doesn't know how it's happening ..... I said "God" 😁
I had this done in 2005 and it's the best thing I ever did. It really boosted my confidence!

I've been doing this before and during surgery so my body can recover quickly from the trauma. And boy did it recover speedily. My surgeon was shocked during every post-op. It ships to your door too PS.
lips:
I get organic vitamin E oil. Easy, you can find it at Walmart. I rub that on and around my lips like chap stick. Every few hours I do it. Keeps them healthy and soft and hydrated while the swelling adjusts. Also you get really dry if your mouth stays a bit open for months.
nose:
Ocean nasal spray, always. No blowing, just keep it moist. Also get a humidifier. Put a dash of salt in there to increase the steam. Great for the chest and again keeping your nose moistened.
shoot me an email Ill tell you more if you want there. :)

Tomorrow is my one week post-op from jaw surgery and this video helped me in not being scared. :D
You are so amazing and brave!!!love you!!!!❤️
Analeese Bell Awww thank you babes!!! Xoxo 😘😘
I'm so glad you made this video. I'm terrified for my jaw surgery in December. Really I'm not even terrified of the surgery, more of the anesthesia. Does anyone have any advice? And also do I get a tube down my throat? I'm really scared they're gonna intubate me.
Good luck on your surgery, I'm having mine next year (2019) and I'm scared too.... LOL
@@anoukc6928 Thank you so much! You too!
Hey beautiful thanks for the nice video , I hope you feel so much better now it’s all over

+Mark Vlogs Daily a Thank you!
Good luck!!
I'm a bit late to the party, this just popped up in my suggested posts. What a brave lady you are! You look fab before & after! X
Eludiastar Thank you soooooo much!!
I am nervous to watch this. My implant surgery is April 19th. I am glad everything went well.
Christine C aww you got this girl!!!!
Christine C how did it go
Thank you so much for this video!! I'm waiting to get the same surgery in July. I'm a bit scared, but I also really need it and want this treatment. Thank you for being in such good spirits and showing so much positive energy! It makes me feel hope.
You got this!! You’ll do great and be so thankful that you did!
@@JaclynRaexoxo Thank you!!!
Jaclyn Rae you are very beautiful
Hanna Taylor Aww thank you 😊
Just had surgery, and i must say your vlog helped me know when the worst of it would be over.
So glad that it went alright for you! you looks even better than before!!!
Stevie Whitney Thank you so much!! I'm so glad this helped you! How are you feeling now?

+Akua Coston Did you get double jaw?
Jaclyn Rae yeah double
Jaclyn Rae did you
I am considering having mandibular setback surgery because my lower jaw sticks out.

I watch this video and I'm getting jaw surgery too in April
I'm not hungry, even though I'm on an all liquid diet(because my body is getting what it needs-it doesn't want more food), my swelling is going down at an incredibly speedy rate according to my surgeon, and I'm getting feeling back in my face and chin which isn't supposed to happen fully for 4 more months.
thank you so much for this video! I have to get the same surgery next year, it helped a lot to see the progress! thank you so much for sharing!
i'm so happy that you get better ❤❤❤
Takoua Cherif Thank you sweetie 😘
I had the same surgery, but the opposite way. The moved my lower jaw almost 2 cm back. The surgery took 4 hours and I am still very happy about the results. You look very pleased with the result, and you should be proud of yourself .
I've got to have this surgery soon and I'm scared. Someone suggested watching UA-cam videos of the surgery so I would at least know what to expect. This doesn't look fun but you make it look doable. Thanks for the video! I'm glad you didn't die lol. (I hope I don't die too!)
Mandy White Hahaha me too!! It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!! You won't die either! Lol
Jaclyn Rae I hope not! Will be glad to get this over with.
how did it go?
I know this video is older and I was skipping through because I’m tired and I wanted to get to the point of the video. I stopped when you had the scroll bar about an insulin pump. My sister is T1d and we may be getting her a pump in the near future. As of now she has a Dex(dexcom) and I wanted to get some info about how they work. I know that they give little bits of short acting insulin and I think that’s all I know really. Is there any advice you could give about getting a pump? We don’t know very much since she was only just diagnosed in October 12017. I mean we know enough to take good care of her, but not as much as a family who’s child may have been diagnosed at a young age.
her eyes are so beautiful
Ronja Lysholm thank you
That must have taken so much courage you are such a inspiration to every body and now you look great!

Hello and thanks for the video! I'd appreciate if you coud answer two questions:
1) Could you please share before and after pics (after could be even two or three months), so we can compare the difference between your corresponding facial appearences?
2) Did your insurance cover at least part of your surgery costs?

I'm glad your doing better now. Gotta go back to the doctor next month on September 27 for them to schedule an surgery for my lower jaw and for them to reconstruct my one ear into an implant ear. My lower jaw is the cause of me having sleep apnea and by that I been wearing the c pap machine and my lower jaw blocks the airway of me breathing at night while I sleep. Hopefully everything goes well on this so I don't have to deal with this forever I'm only 29 and I want to have a normal life without sleep apnea
You look beautiful.
Linda Hayes Thank you so much!!
I’m aware that the mouth is wired shut with elastics for about 6 weeks. However does the surgeon loosen them at all during this time to let you open your mouth even a little bit??
You look good
Animal King Thank you so much!!
Looking so much better at the end!! Good job
im getting surgery in 3 months and im so nervous! seeing you in the hospital bed going for surgery made me cry!! what was the reason they put a tube in your throat?
Your mother is so gentle and loving with you bless 😍
I need this surgery, but I am scared to take the first step! Thank you for sharing your journey.
Hey! I hope you are doing well now.. how does the new jaw feel? How long did it take for you to fully recover as in no pain, able to chew food normally and tlak normally ? I’m nervous about mine so watching as many videos as possible. Your inputs are much appreciated! Thank you!!
I knew this would go well! A whole lotta people were praying for you! And you look AMAZING, but you always did. :)
katylake212 Power of prayer! My recovery has been so fast and easy that my surgeon says he's never seen anything like it! He says in only one month out but look like I had the surgery a year ago!!! Annnnnd my bite has improved even more since surgery without the orthodontics and he said he's never seen that and doesn't know how it's happening
..... I said "God" 😁
I have done BSSO jaw surgery 14 days ago. Still have swelling. When ll it be reduced and when can I eat normally?
