    So nice to hear from you! I think you look a bit different, but then, how much more lovely can one woman get? :) You're beautiful from the inside out, and it just radiates. The surgery is just the cherry on top. :)

    Great job documenting your surgery experiences. This was an appropriate demonstration of what is to expect ahead, as I will have a similar surgery later on this year. And may I say, the structure of your lower jaw / bite definitely looks more defined and "correct" now. Looks great!

    I had jaw surgery at 15 yrs old, they broke my lower jaw in 3 places and upper in 2. I lost some feeling in my chin, and still have to this day 43 yrs old now.

      Rico Rosaura I was there to hun! Try to relax and get a good nights rest! Just think that this time tomorrow it'll be over and then you just get to chill and recover. It'll be worth it in the end and just keep telling yourself that when you upset. Make sure you drink A LOT of water get a lot of nutrition in so you can heal quickly! Also try to keep your mouth clean. Rinse after drinking anything expect water and start brushing as soon as you can. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!! Please let me know how you are!!

    Jaclyn, your videos have helped me so much. I started my surgery process in 2016. I dont remember when I first found your videos but I recognized the hospital back then and had found out you saw Dr. Meara and thats who I was with. It reassured me I was in good hands. Fun fact I am also with alpine and rafetto! Haha such a great team. I am now 2 weeks post-op hanging in there on my no chew diet. I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your experience! Before leaving the hospital Dr. Meara mentioned someone had blended pizza and i mumbled I KNOW HER! Hahaha

    You look great!!! yes please do more on your tips and things it will help me so much and im sure others as they stumble upon it too! How were you able to take pills? Thats something ive been worried about because being rubberbanded shut and swollen im not sure how i could get somethin to the back of my throat. I think the little bit of depression is normal for this surgery cause you have to get used to how you look, i know im deffinately worried about how i will look after. Thanks for sharing!

    • @JaclynRaexoxo
      @JaclynRaexoxo  7 років тому

      Dawn Vitalo Hey girl!! Pills were a little bit of a struggle at first but then you learn how to do it. I would put the pill as far back as I could get it then use the syringe and squirt a lot of water in and swallow quickly lol Even though you're banned shit you can still open your mouth wide enough to take pills and use a syringe to eat/drink.

    I had the exact same surgery but in 1989. The doctor back then ran wire through my cheek bones and attached each wire to my braces.
    I to had a nerve cut. You definitely get used to it.
    I had my mouth wired shut for 6 weeks. But was a great way for me to lose weight lol.

    • @JaclynRaexoxo
      @JaclynRaexoxo  7 років тому

      Jonathan Jones That sounds crazy! I'm getting some feeling back where the nerve was cut but he said it'll never be normal. I unfortunately gained weight because all I ate were potato based foods 😂 but just started back at the gym this week!

    • @jonathanjones4125
      @jonathanjones4125 7 років тому

      Jaclyn Rae yep lost weight due to the liquid diet.
      The nerve issue was identical to yours and the exact same area. I have the sensation of I can feel pressure in the area, not hot or cold.
      But considering the surgery is very evasive, it is definitely very minor issue.
      Now my swelling right after was very severe.
      I would recommend it to anyone who is having doubts.

    • @JaclynRaexoxo
      @JaclynRaexoxo  7 років тому

      Jonathan Jones I was only on a liquid diet for a week. I can feel hot/cold in some areas and some areas I feel nothing. I would still definitely do it again and recommend it. Just want these braces off!!

    • @jonathanjones4125
      @jonathanjones4125 7 років тому

      Jaclyn Rae when I had it done, it was the second time in my life having braces on.
      Giving away my age now, I was 19 in 1989 when I had the surgery.
      You will definitely continue to get those feelings of burning and stinging until the nerve reconnects permanently.
      Like the doctor said it can take up to a year. my numbness was spread out to the whole side of my face.

    Omg!! We seriously went through the same experience. I had my surgery December 27. I had an underbite and a cross bite. They thought I had to have. both jaw worked on but I only had the lower done. I also had a genioplasty. But they didn't cut into the outside of my face. They only worked from the inside. I also healed very quickly. They gave me keflex as an antibiotic. I hardly ate or drank the first week and because of it the antibiotic made me very sick and crampy but that was the only nausea I had. The nerve in the right side of my face was severed as well and I can't feel the same parts that you can't feel. But I recently found out that I will need to have another surgery. The right side became infected because the screws came loose and so my body is rejecting the metal. It turns out I clench my teeth at night! It's so crazy that we have such similar stories.

    • @JaclynRaexoxo
      @JaclynRaexoxo  7 років тому

      Delaney I clench too!!! The gave me muscle relaxers to help. I've gotten a lot of feeling back on the side that was severed so I'm really happy. It sucks you gotta get another surgery!!

I don't recall any sore throat but I was in ICU a few days so I might of just forgot. I know the second one I didn't. But your right it's a long surgery. I have been told that my first implant surgery will be all day.

    hi!
    my husband had his surgery almost 2 months ago and he's at that stage where he's starting to eat again, but he is lacking some motivation to eat cuz his mouth can't feel the same sensation. did you have that problems around 2 months? Maybe its because idk how he feel exactly but I thought maybe the more he practice eating food, it will eventually increase his appetite and increase mobility in his jaw.

    @imscanon 7 років тому

    I just adore you. So glad to see how well it went for you! You look great and I do see more definition in your chin and I'm sure it feels great to have an aligned bite. I never have. The swelling will subside. Try not to be too impatient, and for sure give yourself a break with the emotional stuff. Liquid diet can make ya cranky and mess with normally rational thoughts. Try not to make any big decisions re your looks for a year til it all settles into place as it is gonna stay. The lips I really don't notice one side being lower on the bottom lip. What I see is the right side is upturned more than the left (your rt/lt not mine watching) which may well be as it always was, had never noticed, but most people's are like that so nuthin out of ordinary there. As for looks, you were beautiful either way. As for differences, I see it most in the more pronounced chin area that is less receeded. It also looks like your lips may look a little bigger (never a bad thing imo as a particularly thin lipped person-LOL).
    That surgery sounds brutal though. Yikes. Kudos for enduring that! Oh, and Excedrine Migraine stops mine in its tracks, love that stuff! Great to see ya getting back in the groove! We missed ya!

    • @JaclynRaexoxo
      @JaclynRaexoxo  7 років тому

      imscanon Thank you so muck!! You're words always make me feel better! The liquid/soft food diet is the hardest lol it does make me more irritable! Everyone keeps telling me my lips are fine. I feel like I've become more critical of my self since surgery and I need to stop.

    • @imscanon
      @imscanon 7 років тому

      That's normal. You are scrutinizing every day to see the changes. That will subside once you get used to the new look and the swelling is gone so things aren't changing anymore. It was a success. Just enjoy the joy in that. Maybe make a pizza smoothie. LOL

      @aidancash1 7 років тому

      Jaclyn Rae That makes sense. I can't imagine if you didn't have a pump how hard that would of been. In your future vlogs it would be interesting to see what you actually ate and drank those first few days. Did you have any special protein drinks? I am a junk food junkie. So it's going to be hard. I don't think I will have as many restrictions as you. They are basicLly getting the bone out then putting spacers in. Then the implants are made and you get them put in a few months down the road. I am nervous about having my jaw wired shut. She said it won't be much different because I can't really open. My mouth now. But I don't have the best teeth so that makes me worried to have it wired. @@JaclynRaexoxo That's amazing. I'm post op day 3 with the double jaw surgery, and my numbness is confined to my lower lip and chin.

      Rico Rosaura they thought they were going to have to take bone from my hip but they just used cadaver bones. The first week the swelling sucks but you're over the hardest part now!!!
