    Good information. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm 65 years young, and will be having my surgery ( double or possibly only upper jaw surgery) this year of 2022.

    Firstly you look amazing. Your eye makeup, your shirt, your hair everything look on fleek.
    You're always inspiring Jaclyn because even for small health issues people react like it the end of the world. I've seen my friends mom who recently discovered that she's has Thyroid and she got depressed like it's the end of the world. But she is doing fine and it almost got normal by medication. You're so strong and inspiring.
    Thank you so much for sharing this video it is helpful for so many people.
    I always take you as my strength and inspiration.
    Lots of Love 💖💗💕

      Destiny 51189 You're so sweet!! I have a wonderful support system that keep me positive and my faith in Jesus so I don't fear much. I have hypothyroidism too. I just take a pill everyday (if I remember lol) I've had a lot of medical issue since I was a little girl so you kind of just get use to it and realize you can't change it so the only thing you can do is move forward and stay positive. I hope you're doing well my dear!!

    This video is perfect timing for me. I'm having the same surgery in 3 days. Never been more scared. Hopefully there won't be any complications. Was just wondering, apart from the numbness on your chin, how long did it take to get feeling back everywhere else? Did you get numb teeth? And also how long did it take to get used to your new bite? Thanks so much :) your results look amazing.

    • @JaclynRaexoxo

      Mel from Aus oh how exciting!! You'll do great!! I started getting feeling back around the third week and yes my teeth were very numb. I got used to my new bite right away it was actually really easy to adapt to and actually made eating so much easier.

    You look and sound much more confident than prior to having surgery. Your such an inspiration to those who are having to go through this pain just to feel their teeth aligned and actually have a chin. My daughter, will be having this double jaw surgery this summer before heading to college. It's so nice to know the pros n cons of items to have on hand. Thank You for sharing your experience with us. I can definitely see your confidence and how your soul is shining brighter from within. Your not even wearing as much makeup prior to surgery as well. You look amazingly stunning and with havin the less makeup!! Good Luck n God Bless. And I hope and pray my daughter will be as confident within and feel as beautiful as you!! thanks again for sharing ur experience

    • @JaclynRaexoxo
      @JaclynRaexoxo  7 років тому +1

      Capt AnT Thank you so much and you're so welcome! Yes I definitely feel so much more confident. Your daughter will too! It'll take some time to get there because after you look so swollen and feel like you don't look any better but once that swelling goes away you see all you were hoping for! I just wish I did it sooner. I love to smile now . She will go through some ups and downs, just remind her why she's on this journey. Tell her this is a marathon, slow and steady, not a sprint. It's going to take time for her body to heal and settle. Make sure she's getting the nutrition, that'll help with her Metal health as well. Being on a liquid diet is torture! She will look back on it when it's all done and know it was all worth it! Please let me know how she is after surgery! I'll be praying for her!

    You look really pretty now. Thank you very much for sharing you jaw surgery experience. I saved your videos. They are a lot of help for my daughter. She is 20 and currently waiting for the jaw surgery including upper and lower. I am quite nervous although it is my daughter’s surgery. Somehow I wish I could share her pain. We are in Australia, I wonder if she needs insurance? I didn’t know. The doctor moved her to public waiting list which will not charge her. What type of insurance will help? Many thanks !

    I am a type 1 diabetic too and have jaw surgery scheduled in 2 weeks. I am stressing out because I am worried about how my numbers will be when I'm in surgery. And if people will know how to handle my highs and lows (i'll be connected to a sugar drip IV). Do you have an insulin pump by any chance? I would be interested to know how your experience was as a diabetic, and what pre planning you did in regards to diabetes before your surgery date. Thanks

    Hi! Thanks for the tips! I'm having Lower Jaw Surgery next month and I'm trying to get all my research for recovery done! I have two Questions for you! A.) did you have double jaw or single jaw surgery? it may be explained in another video but this is just the one i stumbled on! and B.)Do you think I could substitute nasal spray with a Neti Pot? I've always hated spraying stuff up my nose it makes me jump, but weirdly I can handle a Neti pot flowing from one nostril to the other! I will ask my surgeon in a couple weeks what she thinks, but I've found it best to ask questions to those who have recovered from it and have that firsthand experience, as a Doctor can only tell you what they've learned.

    Still waiting on my surgery date, I don't have a lot to correct but still need it to correct what braces couldn't. I feel I may have weird questions, but no one has addressed them in the videos I've watched...how long were you in the hospital? And how long after could you shower? Did you have plugged up ears? Or blood coming out of your nose or mouth?

    I've watched all of your jaw surgery videos and they've inspired me alot! I have braces on now (for the second time) and im really thinking about getting the surgery. I have a really bad overbite and by lower jaw is pushed back quite a bit. they told me I would need surgery when I was younger but my orthodontist has never suggested it..
    I'm still undecided though, mainly because of work and money. so I'm not sure if I should ask his opinion on if I should or not.
    but I do have one question: how long exactly did they rubber band/wire your mouth shut??

    • @JaclynRaexoxo
      @JaclynRaexoxo  7 років тому +1

      +annie m My ortho never recommended me for the surgery either. I knew mine was messed up so I called the surgeon and made the appt myself. The recover y for lower jaw is A LOT easier than double. I was up and moving around, talking and laughing the next night and went Xmas shopping exactly one week post op. I was rubber banded shut forn1 week and then not again until a few months later when my ortho started finalizing my bite. I would do it all again if I had too. I'm so happy I fine did do it! I happy to hear my videos are helping you!!

      yes! thank you soo much! it's something I've always been self conscious about but I never really knew that it could be fixed. I thought it was just my face lol but my jawline definitely isnt defined and I have a profile like most of the people that get it the surgery done. but all your videos have definitely helped and makes me want to get it even more! I just hope if I meet with a surgeon that they'll help me and not turn me away. bc I dont need it need it bc I can live without having the surgery but I can relate with you in alot of ways. like I have never known wat it's like to take a real bite out of something without having to move my bottom jaw forward to chew lol

    Did you have any issues getting your insurance to approve the surgery? I was planning on mine back in january and am still having issues with insurance covering it. • @JaclynRaexoxo
      @JaclynRaexoxo  7 років тому

      Dawn Vitalo I have the same insurance and I didn't have any issues. My doctor wrote them a long letter telling them why it was medically necessary. Have you tried that? They have a special coding for it and it should be covered.

    • @Dawnv826
      @Dawnv826 7 років тому

      We have the same doctor, he just like isnt putting a rush on anything which is pissing me off. Me and my mom sent a 3 page letter of how all this is screwing up my life cause if i wanted to do it in the summer i would of back when i was 16. Thank though, least i know when he finally does prepare and send the letter it will be resolved

    • @JaclynRaexoxo
      @JaclynRaexoxo  7 років тому

      +Dawn Vitalo Did the ortho say your teeth were ready for the surgery? He doesn't send the letter until it's time because the authorization only last 6 months so he waits to get the ok until he knows the surgery is about to happen.

      Jaclyn Rae Today is the fourth day after. Not much pain today. Just a little discomfort. Of course the third and fourth days are when you are the most swollen. Hopefully it starts to go down now. I go back Thursday for stich removal which I am not looking forward to. You are very lucky you didn't have to get the implants. I have stiches all the way up in my scalp. They got enough bone off to get my mouth open to 35 mm. I was only at a one. So spacers were put in and I get the joints put in on june 21st I believe. My mouth has to stay wired the entire time. Ready to be healed from this first phase. We are getting ready to break ground on our house in a couple weeks so that is exciting.

      Jaclyn Rae I forgot to mention thank you for mentioning how depressed you got and its normal and you would do it again. That really helps knowing how I am feeling is normal.

      Christine C aww I hope you continue to feel less pain everyday. The stitch removal shouldn't hurt. Keep them moist with Neosporin. Don't worry it'll all be a distant memory soon!!

      Jaclyn Rae Thanks. I have bacetration they gave me but said I could quit using it today. When this entire process is over and I can actually take a bite of food normally it will all be worth it. I am dreaming of eating nachos again and doritoes. Lol.

      Girl!! I'm still trying to lose weight lol and it's been 3 years 😂 Don't do what I did and just eat carbs 😭 I just hired a personal trainer and started a pretty serious diet plan because I can't take it anymore haha

      I understand. I just had a baby in September and I’m trying to lose that weight 😒😞
      So many changes so fast. But it will be worth it!
      If you don’t mind me asking how old were you? I’m 28 and I’m just nervous that Bc I’m “so old” it’s going to be worse on me... 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Please don't do this surgery! Have done in US 2019 and regret it sooo much! extra salaiva in mouth, where u spit when you talk sometimes. Numbness in jaw and lower lip where intimate is never joyful as before. I only had a slight overbite and the percentage of probable numbness for candidates is 97% not as dentist claim! Please embrace your jaw it will NEVER feel like before unless your face looks like an alien! Plus Asymmetry resulted from the surgery!

      Mine is perfect now. I had no complications. My bite is better now and I feel way better than before. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. It was the best decision I ever made for myself.
