YOUR THE SHEEP🐑
Yo bro gotta react to sticks and stones/hurt me by juice wrld 🔥
The worst part of listening to Tool for the first time is that you can’t do it a second time.
Hilarious and oh so true
Especially this song! It’s a small masterpiece on a masterpiece of an album!
The lack of that first experience is slowly being replaced by an appreciation angle afforded by the prevalence of all the teacher/reactor channels covering their work. It's the gift that keeps on giving!
Holy shit, yes!!
Like heroin, your forever chasing the dragon never to reach it
"They got him soft, like tucked away in the back..."
You've got no idea how hard you hit the nail on the head 🤣🤣
The only time I ever saw them live, Maynard was so far in the back nobody could see him.
That was priceless!
@@theshine2 10,000 days tour he did that. He was right up front on the Undertow tour.
🤣🤣🤣 I literally LOLd when he said that.. he couldn’t have been more right lol!
When I saw them at Aftershock in 2019, he was shrouded in shadows in the back the whole time. Hit the nail on the head with that observation lol
The reason Maynard's vocals tend to be so low is because he intended for Tool as a band to be the focus, showing everyone's talent equally, not just him being the front man.
i think the beats will bring the instrumentation out too much, specially the bass cuz theyre optimized for pop and hip hop that usually have very loud vocals
As another commenter said, "Tool has a rhythm vocalist."
Maynards vocals sound perfectly clear at the front of the mix in a properly balanced audio system
Honestly when Im drunk it levels itself out. Anyone else can relate?
@@joebob2311productions thats what i mean by properly balanced. Glad someone gets it ;-)
They’re literally an entire band of musical prodigies
Can we get a Tool Tuesday or Tool Thursday for awhile. Would love that
Make it both Tuesday and Thursday 🤙🤙🤙😯
Make it tool week. Every week.
Bruh why is it always tool fans that are like this
@@seffers4788 so you want like wiz khalifa Wednesdays
Would tune in every video haha
"Disshit Fire" is a pretty solid description, not gonna lie.
Truth.
nice profile pic😅
I got your profile picture on my arm. 10k eyes
His face after he says it.. 😂 I can't 🤣
Thats almost all tool songs
They ask "what's your favorite Tool song?"
Me "yes"
No bad songs all absolute fire
I don't know, Useful Idiot is kinda weak...
I'm gonna catch a lot of flak for this, but Pneuma bores me to tears
@@SanDukey fear innoculum has what, three actual songs?
There, I'm jumping in the fire with you.
@@paulylewis8512 descending and 7emptest made it worth it
@@paulylewis8512 yea I get what you’re saying. It’s definitely my least favorite album. It just seemed to me like MJK didn’t really have much at all to say on it and some of the music seemed like it was mashed up bits of Lateralus outtakes. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good album. All their albums are diamonds. This one is just the least shiny diamond out of the bunch.
The fact that this song is 26 years old is mind blowing, absolutely timeless music, legendary musicians, fan for life!!
Takes me right back to high school.
“I can’t hear him. Maybe he’ll sing louder”. Oh no, he’s about to have another SOAD moment.
😂😂😂
Lol I was like...don’t worry-here it comes
One of the most musically talented bands of all time.
Agreed
Absolutely
My favorite band beside Zep
Definitely
Prog bands are just different. Dream Theater has one of the best guitarists of all time, arguably THE greatest keyboard player, amazing singer, disgusting drummer, phenomenal bassist.
This is the definition of a BAND. They’re each masters of their domains and none seeks to be the centerpiece. It’s true collaboration.
Watching this dude jam to stuff he hasn't heard before is extremely pure. Good stuff.
I always love this dude's energy and open mind to stuff he hasn't experienced yet
Facts
Yup.
I honestly wouldn't mind you going through their entire catalog, front to back, just so you absorb the greatness that is Tool
I second this motion
I also
i would watch every reaction
ABSOLUTELY!!!!
I concur......
You are all witnessing the birth a TOOL fan. If you think these are the only fire songs, their whole discography is incredible.
I'm 55 in two months. Scottish.
So glad I found these guys 25 years ago.
It's next level shit.
My dad's best mate gave me Ænima by Tool on Cassette when I was 11 and had started playing guitar. Little did he know.. Tools music would go on to save me from Depression. There's just too much to focus on in the music.. and the lyrics. Too much to think about to stay in one place. When I wasn't doing well.. I would put on my headphones and just focus on the music. I am 32 now. Happy to see people experiencing Tool for the first time. What a feeling 😁👍
Yes! It takes you away. From everything to another place. Even if only for 5 minutes when you are listening you’re literally escaping and it feels so therapeutic! I believe that’s why Maynard doesn’t want cameras at shows. Just be IN the moment, truly.
Well said.... mate Tool's a different level of music.. for all can't grasp... ya all need to dive in deep 😊
You should also listen to “schism” by them as well, such an intense song, with a hypnotic baseline.
Alot of people don't know, even tool/a perfect circle/ puscifer fans don't know that Maynard writes most of the songs for his 3 groups along the Fibonacci Sequence
this man may stop having sex cause there will be no better climax lol
@@jaredbrown6066 lol you're telling me shit like "v is for vagina" was written with the fibonnaci sequence in mind? nah not buying it.
@@JoeMOmma-qe7tn if you actually read what I wrote I said most NOT ALL of them
@@jaredbrown6066 name the apc and puscifer songs that used it then lmao.
So excited for anyone to listen to Tool for the first time.
Started Listen to them 2 weeks ago. And now i am Kind of addicted or so. They fullfill every free Minute of my days 🤣

honestly sometimes i wish i could listen to them for the first time again... its a whole different feeling and i love it
@@Supakuri999 This is the way.
@@hootanma6351 I am so pleased I got to fully experience listening to Fear Inoculum as a new release. I bought 10000 days when it was new, but I don't think I appreciated what it was on first listens. After a couple of decades listening to tool music, Fear Inoculum was mind-blowing to hear new tracks again. Fear inoc/pneuma/invincible/descending may be one of the best opening track combos ever
46 & 2 was one of my favorite tool songs for a longtime when I was younger. The energy is just so explosive and the meaning behind the lyrics are really really deep.
YOU BETTER GET A JOB BEFORE SUNDOWN OR WE'RE SHIPPING YOU OFF TO MILITARY SCHOOL WITH THE GID DAMN,,,,, oh hey what's up?
This is one of my favorite Tool songs but I will die on the hill that the core idea of the song is kinda dumb. I even like the lyrics but the idea behind it doesn’t hold up.
@@benjamincampbell4123 I never really looked into the lyrics. I always just assumed that it was about 2 days in prison.
@@pablo58585 Most of their songs have layered meanings, it could very well be about that as well
@@pablo58585 My understanding is it’s about something people call “Christ Consciousness”, where we gain two extra chromosomes and evolve into a higher stage. Not how chromosomes work lol
"These dudes different brah." 🤘 Love it!!
When things get back to normal, somebody needs to take this man to see Tool live and absolutely blow his mind... he'll never be the same again.
I'm sad because probably I will never see tool live :( I'm 20 and from Latin America Lol. My dream is to watch tool live with LSD, it would be freaking amazing.
Tool live is life changing. Saw them in Seattle and at the Gorge. Epic.
Maynard got Covid twice. Hope he has the lungs for it.
Tool never makes trash!! i would suggest doing lyric videos. the message of the song adds a whole new layer to the already masterpiece compositions Tool puts together! Enjoy this ride man, its a journey and a vibe unlike anything you have experienced
Do it!!!!!!
Definitely, like the lyrics for lateralus, and right in two, just to name some really nice lyrical songs from tool
While I still can't really get into most of Fear Inoculum, I agree they never make trash.
Yes, I know I'm totally the minority on this.
Each previous album grabbed me immediately.
Yeah, you're going to need lyric videos. I dare you, I double dare you.
I sadly feel like he isn’t gonna like the lyrical beginning part of Rosetta stoned
This song is an incredible representation of spiritual shadow work. The lyrics are essentially about not being able to evolve until we accept our shadow
Perceptive, bro.
It's fully about evolution. The shadow is the past homosapiens, cromagnon, neanderthal, homoerectus, etc
This is my favorite Tool song.
It’s like the Beatles, Pink Floyd and NIN had a baby. It’s just a sonically delightful song.
Same. When I saw them live and they played this my buddy next to me said he could barely hear Maynard because I was singing so loud. 😵😵
Let’s not lump Trent Reznor with Floyd, The Beatles and Tool. Blasphemy of the highest order!!!
@@feldspar3858 All 4 of them are geniuses of their own genres, no underestimating.
@@pajchoking8388 - NIN? Nope.

Seeing the face of someone discovering a Tool MASTERPIECE for the first time is pure gold.
A priceless reaction
Loved watching the reaction! I've heard this song hundreds of times and I still get goosebumps!
Spoken like a legend
You gotta do "Pneuma" but the drummer POV one, it's amazing
Or studio version first then the drum cam
Danny Carey is a momster
The Pneuma drum cam is one of the seven wonders of the natural world
Really makes you appreciate the instrumentation
Ticks and Leeches Drum cam first, then he can do Pneuma :D :D :D
You don't just listen to tool
You experience it
The lyrics go so deep. Its talking about your evolution of the human consciousness and stepping through the shadow which is beyond ego. Becoming more than we are
You sir, genius. To be open to every music genre and appreciate the best of each is a gift. Tool just hits the soul in a way no other band has ever done. 🎉🎉🎉
Danny Carey doing Pneuma live is a video everyone who appreciates live music should see. Unreal!
Seeing it live in the physical is a sight and sound to behold. Outstanding
I still like the drumming in this song more. I mean it's all great obviously 😁
@@alyberop1 it's the 7/8 fills for me in this. DC is goat
This is probably my most watched UA-cam video of these last years.
danny carey is the MAN
I grew up on Tool. It's really nice seeing someone discover and appreciate it now as much as I did back then
Me too and watching people discover tool is basically a daily activity for me lol
@@Issafreecrunch Hard relate, man. I often get chills seeing people react to bands I love for the first time, like I get to experience it anew myself through someone else.
Just saw Tool for the first time a few days ago. I have never been so mesmerized in my life. The chemistry they have and the consistency of their performance is unmatched. If you have the chance you have to see them live.
One of the coolest versions of this song is done by kids like a "School of Rock" kinda thing. They have some real talent. Definitely worth reacting to.
I was a teenager in the late 90s - I always regarded Tool as some kind of sacred entity that I didn't understand or wasn't worthy to listen to. I was into all kinds of rock music, but they just had this other-worldly mysticism around them. Their musicality is just off the charts and was beyond my comprehension at the time.
Dude wtf I experienced the same thing. Was born in the late 90s but growing up I remember almost being weirded out or scared of their music. My dad would play them and something felt so ...off about the music. I never felt the swing and punch that many of tool's songs have before and am so glad I stuck it out and got back into them more than ever when I was a bit older and could fully appreciate the musicality and creativity. Sorry its hard to put that into words but I totally feel you
I think its because they take typical music theory and throw it out the window. They dont follow normal music flow and rhythm. They make it work so well too.
Same here bro. Such a legendary band.
That's funny that's exactly how I felt, and everyone had that one friend who thought they completely understood Tool and held all the knowledge and never held back on explaining it 24/7 lol.
Yes, same here!! I knew about Tool in middle school and high school but like you didn't feel worthy or something. I actually got into A Perfect Circle first in early college and then just fell into Tool hard shortly after. It's like others said, had to age/mature a little to fully appreciate.
"I can't hear him, like they got him tucked away in the back." I've seen T00L 3 times.... he WAS tucked away in the back... on his own little stage.😅🤘
And in the shadows, no doubt.
Usually on stilts or some weird shit, too
Been listening to this since it first came out and it still gives me chills
Yesss they are a very musical group! They play around with time signatures- switch between 4/4 and 3/4 and it gives a real like poppy jazz beat. I love Tool because you can listen to a song a million times and pick up something new. Watching you react to it let me see that there was the common pattern in the melody in the drums- never heard it before 😂 shit is straight magical
O'Keefe Music Foundation did a cover of this using some of their students and it's absolutely fire. They posted the studio recording/performance on UA-cam 7 years ago. It's still up and it still blows my mind.
Definitely need to check out the kids playing this, the singer is loud enough to hear, the drummer awesome, all the kids are great
It is an amazing cover!!!! Here is the link- ua-cam.com/video/mYKLvYGqaC0/v-deo.html
Tool makes me feel ascended as their music is sounding from another realm
You should look into Vektor if you are in to Thrash progressive metal. They push some abstract boundaries like Tool. Just in a more thrashy way. (Tetrastructural Minds for a good range of what they can do. Echoless Chamber for Heavy Thrash. Forests of Legend for Ambient feel. Outer Isolation if you want a space journey, and many more)
The hardest part of listening to Tool as a beginner is the pace of the song and the cadence of Maynard’s singing. As a beginner you are always 3 steps behind, keep listening. You will learn.
I love this so much. I'm in my early 30's, and Tool was my first concert ever when I was 13. Watching you react to this is reminding me of being a teenager discovering them for the first time.
This is definitely one of Tool's best songs, you should definitely listen to Pneuma next.
I agree 100%
Would love to see him react to Pneuma live with Danny Carey slaying the drums.
Was just thinking that. One of the best live performances of all time
This is how I want everyone to react to Tool. I absolutely adore this guy. National Treasure!
Never seen anyone dance like that to Tool. I dig it.
Maybe that’s how we’re meant to do it 🤣
Tool just makes a fella groove. They don't tell you how, just that you must.
Look up O’Keefe Music Foundation 46&2. It’s a group of kids ranging in age from 10-17 playing this song. But the icing on the cake is the young lady providing the vocals. Insane!!
I think the piano and sticks also add to their version as well.
Yeah, her name is Kala Rose and she's the lead singer of Saving Escape now. Thankfully she followed that talent! ua-cam.com/video/oYEXeW94z5A/v-deo.html She's got the Florence Welch vibe.
Came here to say this!
There awesome!!
Gives goosebumps... if he checks it out and dousnt do a vid he would be upset
Yo man, a Tool reaction this shit gonna be great af
The happiness on his face. They all feel it. Watching first reactions to tool is becoming a pasttime.
Seen them perform this song live a few times. That ending blows your head off. 🤯
I have seen *HUNDREDS* of live bands.
I have seen Tool live 3 times.
Let me rank my favorite live performances of all time for you;
1. Tool
2. Tool
3. Tool
4. Um... maybe The Foo Fighters? Idk. Ramstein was awesome. Really it's like a 20-band tie and 4th doesn't even matter here.
"...so many layers in their music..."
When you're ready for the next layer, read the lyrics and Google 'Carl Jung" and " Drunvalo Melchizedek"....
Please, that's just stupid new-age philosophy, nothing interessting in that pile of garbage.
@@JMyrk imagine a world where people don’t think the same as you. Shadow work has been essential in many cultures. It’s not just a new random philosophy. The words shadow work probably are but accepting the parts of ourselves we hate isn’t new whatsoever
This song is about our shadow, the things we dont like about ourself. Its a song about self love.
...maybe. Or its a song about how the human species took its next evolutionary step to where we are now and also how to move beyond into our next....
Imo, it's about discovering the repressed parts of yourself so they don't control you. Know yourself. They follow Crowley, who said you can ascend into a Superman by purging all human weakness ... like mercy and compassion. He also wrote the Bible of s4+4nism.
It blows my mind that there are people who haven’t heard Tool before!! I’m so jealous watching these videos because I know this feeling and you only get it once. A new Tool song is a high you just can’t top!!
I love that you give rock genuine love too, to many people who love certain genres can’t crossover and enjoy other genres. This goes both ways for fans of rock and rap.

Can’t wait for the drum cam reaction 🤫🤩
Danny is a fuckin goddddddd
Why is this man so underrated, honestly, he's the GOAT

Tool is literally one of my favorite bands of all time, it is a treat for me to watch people discovering them for the first time. As for the vocal being low in the mix it is an artistic choice. Maynard likes his voice to be just one more instrument in the whole of the music. I recommend you check out the lyrics as you listen to the song to get the full picture. Enjoy, these people never get old! :)
Tool live is like a religious experience. Saw them March 8 in concert. That concert was amazing.
Imagine aside from the complexity of the music if LayedBak ever did lyric dives for tool. Not just reading them, but actually delving into the meanings full on.

Forty Six & 2 Lyrics
[Intro]
Join in my-
Join in, my child, and listen
Digging through
My old numb shadow
[Verse 1]
My shadow's shedding skin
I've been picking scabs again
I'm down, digging through
My old muscles, looking for a clue
[Pre-Chorus 1]
I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been
I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure delusions
For a piece to cross me over
Or a word to guide me in
I wanna feel the changes coming down
I wanna know what I've been hiding
[Chorus 1]
In my shadow
My shadow
Change is coming through
My shadow
My shadow
Shedding skin
I've been picking
My scabs again
