When I first saw TOOL live, this was the song they opened with. It was AMAZING live! It was like being on psychedelics whilst having a spiritual experience. They are not as big as they should be.
They are HUGE in the metal/alternative circle. There isn’t a rock music enthusiast who doesn’t know who Tool is. True, there are some who say that Tool is not their cup of tea. That’s because they don’t know how to actually LISTEN to them. I always use the example of Tool being a fine wine. You want to listen to them in “sips” (like wine) rather than gulps.

It took them only 10 years to make it 🤣🤣🤣 I LOVE Tool. Top 10 bands for me. They don’t release new music much but when they do, it’s worth the wait that’s for sure.
Most of that time (13 years actually) the band was caught up in lawsuits with their previous label. Plus they all have other bands, Maynard has the vineyard in Jerome, Adam does his thing with art, animation, etc… They didn’t need to do this record at all, which is why it came out so brilliant. It was 100% authentic & it resonated with the listeners. And you know Tool fans, as picky & analytical as it gets but many will call this one their masterpiece.
I love Tool seen them live one of the greatest bands of all times, if not the best. That being said it is not a great band to start out on for many "normies" when it comes to music. It is very unique, skilled and out there. It's actually hard for a lot of people who know basic 3 chord progression songs to listen too. It requires work on the listeners end to truly enjoy it. The intricacy, the depth of the lyrics, Danny Carey’s impossible timing on the drums. It’s an experience to hear their work and you totally captured the feeling. Keep that Focus!
I was fortunate enough to see them live late 2019 before the pandemic and they are so good. I remember this song specifically with the drums going off and feeling it in your chest. Epic night to say the least.

Luv it when people find out about the greatness of Tool. Little radio & TV because songs so long and some lyrics not radio friendly. Rare interviews, but sellout arenas all over the world. I just recently found out about their music, because they just started streaming their music a few yrs ago. Their song 7empest won a grammy and the song The Pot was nominated. Some other great songs are Eulogy, The Grudge, Invincible, Descending, 46 & 2, Vicarious.
I wish I could experience this song for the first time again. Pneuma doesn't have much lyrics, but they helped me through a very difficult time in my life. My gf broke up with me and I wasn't doing great at all. This song helped me calm down. I am so grateful for that.
Intro alone is repeating measures of 14/8, 12/8 and 7/8. I almost killed my brain trying to figure it out and finally went to other technical sources for the breakdown. When Maynard sings pneu-Ma, the Ma is actually on the downbeat. Blows my mind....................
I have seen Tool live twice now, two of the best experiences I have ever had. If you ever get a chance, you have GOT to see them live. They put on one of the best shows I have ever been to.
React to the live version of it they show the process of the drumming its absolutely crazy to see all the little sounds are coming from one person drumming. It looks so simple the way he does it but yet so complex because he's hitting so many different drum patterns.
The drummer is known as The Octopus. He can drum in different time with every leg and arm. I am a guitar player, and Tool is one of the few bands where I am focusing on the drums over everything else.
Great video dude. You should have totally done the live version with the drum cam. This drum solo is amazing live, you will see why they call Danny Carey the octopus lol This man can play a different rhythm on each limb. They are all masters of this game. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, Watch the live drumcam video of this song¡!!¡!!!!!! Danny Carey is a GOD!!!!! Then listen to Invincible, The Pot, Aenema, and Lateralus!! I love seeing someone who can appreciate the sheer greatness these 4 individual musicians have!! Absolutely loved this reaction!!!!!
There is something extremely tribal about tool's vibe. It really helps open the portal to our inner self. I believe this beat, a communication through mathematical equation is what unlocks the soul and allows connection.
From what I understand they don't really wanna be called that Adam Jones called it "Munge" I like to refer to it as post rock despite having no clue what post rock sounds like cuz it just feels like the natural continuation to a mix of all the best aspects of the actually good kinds of rock
You have to watch the drumcam. Im sure everye comment says the same thing. You need to watch the drummer play this live. Your brain will melt. Hes of another planet.

As someone who heard this before it was released to the public at a music festival. I can tell a lot of people did not know what to do at the show. But it was magical. Their liver performances are spectacular. The visuals are insane and the lead singer was of dtage sting and the band was hidden to focus on the lights and visuals. Just amazing and can't wait to see them again in may
The vibing amd the faces say it all. Great reaction video. Tool is a league of thier own, im a prog snob and my best friend is iffy on Tool but when he listened to the entire Fear Incolum Album hes a Tool Fan now 10,000 Days is right behind Pnuma for me. Forty-Six and 2 is phenomenal. So many good songs.
It took them 13 years to make this album. They play each part for hours and hours till it fits just right with everything. They use math and even magick to make their music. It's fucking insane and incredibly in depth. After that the singer listens to it and feels what the music says to him and creates his parts as another instrument.
Dude, there's a live drum cam version that blows it away and manages to sound even more impressive! You did seem to really appreciate the percussion.
I’ve listened to it 1000 times and each time I get something different out of it. Try listening to it on a good set of headphones!
Hope you’re doing better now
Been to nine of their concerts and there's nothing like it! It's an audio and visual experience, freakin transcendent! Love Tool!
The time signature is what is most amazing. Their songs don't follow regular time like 4/4
Intro alone is repeating measures of 14/8, 12/8 and 7/8.
Cant agree more! truly amazing musician
That drop at 11:15 is my all-time favorite. So EPIC! 🤘
Jambi-drop level 😉🤘🏻
agreed. my car speakers quiver in fear as that part approaches.
You make great videos, can't wait to see more Tool! Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 💭
One voice. Disguised. We are on one breath. One spark. Slowly becoming. One
You should do more tool. They are amazing.
This was a new track for me too, you're right this is a whole experience! Great reaction
If you liked this, you will love most of their work 😎
Tool is the kind of music you listen to while getting stoned and looking at the stars
8:37 I seen them live back in March and during this part literally everybody was either kind of swaying back and forth or just staring, completely transfixed. It was awesome
I had a great seat last time. I just sat in my chair and felt the show. The fist time I was young and in the pit. The vibe from then vs now shows growth.
This whole buildup was a surprise live. When it broke into the crunchy rhythm part again it was massive!
If you try to head bang to Tool you will look like you have Parkinson's Disease. No disrespect meant to anyone with or having loved one's Parkinson's.
There is something extremely tribal about tool's vibe. It really helps open the portal to our inner self. I believe this beat, a communication through mathematical equation is what unlocks the soul and allows connection.
TOOL is considered to be Metal. This is one of my favorite songs from them! 😁 Merry Christmas Eve!
From what I understand they don't really wanna be called that
Adam Jones called it "Munge"
I like to refer to it as post rock despite having no clue what post rock sounds like cuz it just feels like the natural continuation to a mix of all the best aspects of the actually good kinds of rock
I've seen many looks from you but that look was ...you are out of your mind getting blown away face melting....appropriate!
It’s so funny watching tool reactions because you can see the look on their face change as they just become more impressed 😂
If I recall correctly, Tools members will all write different parts separately from each other and combine them. adds to the “all over” feeling
That’s true!
You have to watch the drumcam. Im sure everye comment says the same thing. You need to watch the drummer play this live. Your brain will melt. Hes of another planet.
Bro in on the first 100! Your reviews are always the shit 🔥
Bro! Thank you so much for doing this reaction. I knew you would notice the irregular time patters and respect it for the journey it takes you on.
I fucking love rap and hip hop music but I'm a metal head at heart and I got a lot of respect for the "rapper reacts to rock" series you do.
One love bro
You should do the drum cam like everyone says but you can’t go wrong with any tool song.. they don’t make any bad music!!! You should also check out Vicarious with the lyric video by Tool.
As someone who heard this before it was released to the public at a music festival. I can tell a lot of people did not know what to do at the show. But it was magical. Their liver performances are spectacular. The visuals are insane and the lead singer was of dtage sting and the band was hidden to focus on the lights and visuals. Just amazing and can't wait to see them again in may
there is a live version where the camera stays on dany carey
edit: that is the drummer for tool.

Danny’s live drum cam footage of pneuma is the best live performance I’ve ever seen. MUST WATCH
The god damn poly rhythm on this one is madness
When I saw them last fall, the crowd was hushed and in a trance. It was at a huge metal festival, so that speaks to the awe and devotion of the fans.
This is too funny. Everyone is reacting to TOOL these days, it's so hot. I'm happy though, some of my favorite music ever made.
Been thinking that myself.. Been listening to TOOL since the 90's cant imagine not knowing about them till now.
@@J_sLaXx right, these people been living under a rock.
I love your profile pic.
The best reaction I've ever seen. You watched and felt the music without pausing much. A well-done, much appreciated and felt reaction video.
Dude, there's a live drum cam version that blows it away and manages to sound even more impressive! You did seem to really appreciate the percussion. Danny Carey is one of the best drummers alive right now and Tool really know how to play to that strength. They're all amazing musicians but Danny is a drum god among drummers. You have to watch the live video!
