I’m in high school and most people think it’s odd I dress modest but it’s what I feel comfortable with plus I say it’s what God calls us woman to do! I’m in a junior in high school, and this topic means a lot to me. This year the juniors are hosting prom which I’m so happy about it’s going to be at the aquarium! Me and my family for the past two days went prom shopping the first day I did not find anything and the 2nd day I did! ❤ which was good. It took me forever because I made it clear that I wanted to be modest. My mom wanted me to wear this one dresss I tried it on for her but I felt not feel comfortable and my feelings are saying I look good and yes, I may look good in some of the dresses, but I never want someone to say well then lucky plus I would like to be modest. That’s what I feel comfortable. That’s why I went every time we went to with Dress shop I said no no no so many times because I want to be modest and glorify God it is what I try to do every day. The last shop we went to was wonderful because we went to a great place and the owners where Christian so good nice to know that my opinion mattered. Which was nice! God calls of us to be different from this world! Nan’s I may be different than all of my friend and that’s okay becusse I believe it’s truly important! And God loves me and that matters! ❤❤ don’t listen to people make fun of you for being modest, I don’t who care have confidence! In your self!❤❤

At the time Proverbs was written, the significance of purple was huge. It was a color that only royalty could wear. So the purple gown is a representation of dressing yourself as though you are royal. Taking care of your appearance because you know your worth.
Modesty as a believer is really important and although people think dressing modest is boring and “grandma style”, it’s not. Dressing modest is something we do because our bodies are temple BUT dressing modest isn’t boring or plain at all.
I really needed to see this. Ive been struggling with my relationship with God for a while. And also just broke up with boyfriend of 3+ years. I fell into temptation of pursuing other men dressing immodestly and lusting. And relaized how bad it is. You’re like an older sister teaching me while also reminding me of who God is❣️
I love the message here. It’s so hard as a 13 year girl living in a society that says wear this and wear that, but knowing that wearing those things will only draw the wrong attention. It’s a great reminder for me that my confidence should be in Christ and Christ alone, and never the things of this world such as immodest clothing. Idk if any of you ladies will see this but I'm 29 and I've always struggled w my outward appearance and what I wear and I'll be completely honest have worn certain things to draw attention and I can say that if you keep being more modest at your age now you'll be glad you did once you're my age! As a Christian girl who’s 13 and easily influenced, I want to dress more modestly, and I know it gets really hard especially during the summer when everyone is wearing short shorts and bikinis. Crop tops are great for laying under things like jumpsuits or sweaters without being bulky or hot. They can actually help an immodest outfit be modest 😊
I switched to just dresses and skirts about 2 years ago. This is huge if you know me. I used to try to find the shortest shorts and the outfit that was the tightest and showed the most skin. Men (and woman) treat me with a lot more respect now. I would love to see you wearing more modest workout gear. You’re just too beautiful for those tight skimpy clothes. 😬 saying this with so much love.

For me personally, I feel comfortable wearing long crop tops with baggy pants, or tighter shorts with baggy shirts. It’s definitely all about balance for me. One tighter article of clothing with a loose one is my go to 💜💜
i’m only 5 mins into the video and i truly and so thankful i’ve stumbled across this. i’ve never thought about dressing modestly in that way before. Because as much as I do want attention at time I ultimately want and NEED the right kind of attention. I need to do what’s best for me. This could not have come at a more perfect time, it’s like it was meant to be. The Lord has been working hard in my heart these last several weeks and has compelled me and made me realize that my wardrobe needs to change along with my heart. I ransacked my closet the other day to get rid of all of my immodest clothes and am now searching of new modest pieces to put in. I never understood modesty really until I followed the Lord more closely and I realized that it truly is about glorifying God and emphasizing what matters most about us: our hearts, minds, souls, and the light of God within us. Immodesty distracts from those things. Thanks for this video, it’s nice to hear another young woman talking about this and the importance behind it.

Here’s another question I ask when considering modesty (and I get complimented every where I go for how i dress): If the Holy Spirit lead me to minister to someone that day, would I feel like my outfit ruins my witness? That’s been helpful for me navigating modesty, while still being stylish.

I would love to see how you shop for the summer because I feel like as someone just starting covering in the winter is easy but in hot weather I am not too sure unless I wear long dresses but I don’t always want to wear a dress because I am a sporty girl.

My husband and I met in high school. I wore a hoodie and jeans. Every single day. No matter the weather. I didn't do my hair, I usually pulled it back or put it out of my way. We've been married for three years this July. Have a beautiful baby boy and another on the way. Everyday I thank God for sending me him. His timing is truly best. What I was going through in my life is a long story, but I needed a man of God to help me through it. And He sent me just that. I still dress modestly, but I've gotten better at ditching jeans and hoodies. Thankful for that too 😂 *I didn't realize this video was older until I read the other comments*

I’m glad I’ve found you because I’ve really been trying make the right changes in my dressing and I realised how hard the other way is pushed and shoved in our faces constantly. As Christians we do have to do our best to upkeep the way God wants us to be and I’m relieved I’m finding more platforms speaking on Gods truth x
@@presleyyyyyy Sure. Would you be comfortable if your mother was to walk around your house wearing nothing but thongs (coz why not? just like you, she's also sick and tired of the patriarchy)? It's so fascinating to me that women like you complain as to how oppressive these standards are (coz it's set by men/ bible) but somehow wearing revealing clothing or even going bare naked is somewhat liberating when truth of the matter is... just like the bible women wearing little to none is also a product of the patriarchy. Hence the saying 's3x work is the oldest profession'. But for some reason, women like you think it's liberating (when in reality you're just simply being objectified) but the former is somewhat 'wrong' because it's women being exploited for their naivity when truthfully speaking women dressing modest and women dressed immodest is just simply 2 sides of the same coin. And I would argue women dressed modestly (just like most women's sentiments here) makes men focus on a woman's personality and mannerism instead of her body. But why is it that you think you're opinion is right but theirs is not when women here (just like yourself) made a conscious choice? Now before you make the argument: 'That's why we should teach boys/ men to not see womem as s3x objects'. Let me ask you this: If I as a man was to court a woman and showed her how lavish my lifestyle is and how much money I have and the things I can buy her, but then unfortunately decided to exploit me (buy her clothes, food, book tripa, etc..). Is it my fault or her? Should I have held myself accountable and have been more cautious as to how I presented myself or should we just simply teach girls/ women not to exploit men (just like how we should teach men to not objectify women who dress immodestly? I have started my faith journey and I also felt the pressure before being saved to dress in a half naked outfit and I realized when I went out I would not feel confident and I would feel like everyone is staring at me. I now have been on my modesty journey and I feel so beautiful! I love it and I honestly feel like it suits me more.

At first when we were first going to church ( 3-4 years ago ) I did not want to be “modest” I hated the idea of skirts and dresses. But legit today I feel more confident in them, I look and just think that I look way better in skirts than in pants. God opened my eyes to that and he helped my confidence grow. ❤️
thrift shops!! target!! amazon!! brandy, etc. look on pinterest! simplistic outfits are good too. like a simple pair of jeans and a sweater are easy and modest.
I personally love shoping at thrift stores, it’s usually very affordable and exiting cause you can find fantastic pieces if you are patient og creative 😁
I liked hearing about how the Proverbs 31 woman did dress well & within her means. I also really like the idea of going on Pinterest and finding the styles you like, then shopping ONLY for those. I’ve been a lot more disciplined in my shopping lately, and I have been making fashion Pinterest boards. But I usually go to target or old navy and that’s it…I like the idea of going to an actual mall to shop for specific items across different stores.

I just want to love this so many times! God has really been doing a work in my heart in my clothes. I don’t want to say I’m outwardly immodest in ways, but God is still refining me in terms of not wanting to look like the best in the room or attract attention to myself just based on looks- even if it’s not sexual in nature. I’m really looking lately way more into specifically modest clothing that are stylish (which, why is that so hard to find?!) rare gems. Hahah 8 years born again and so thankful for our Lord! I switched to just dresses and skirts about 2 years ago. This is huge if you know me. I used to try to find the shortest shorts and the outfit that was the tightest and showed the most skin. Men (and woman) treat me with a lot more respect now. I would love to see you wearing more modest workout gear. For me personally, I feel comfortable wearing long crop tops with baggy pants, or tighter shorts with baggy shirts. It’s definitely all about balance for me. One tighter article of clothing with a loose one is my go to 💜💜
i’m only 5 mins into the video and i truly and so thankful i’ve stumbled across this. i’ve never thought about dressing modestly in that way before. Because as much as I do want attention at time I ultimately want and NEED the right kind of attention. I need to do what’s best for me. This could not have come at a more perfect time, it’s like it was meant to be. The Lord has been working hard in my heart these last several weeks and has compelled me and made me realize that my wardrobe needs to change along with my heart. I ransacked my closet the other day to get rid of all of my immodest clothes and am now searching of new modest pieces to put in. I never understood modesty really until I followed the Lord more closely and I realized that it truly is about glorifying God and emphasizing what matters most about us: our hearts, minds, souls, and the light of God within us. Immodesty distracts from those things. Thanks for this video, it’s nice to hear another young woman talking about this and the importance behind it.

Here’s another question I ask when considering modesty (and I get complimented every where I go for how i dress): If the Holy Spirit lead me to minister to someone that day, would I feel like my outfit ruins my witness?

My husband and I met in high school. I wore a hoodie and jeans. Every single day. No matter the weather. I didn't do my hair, I usually pulled it back or put it out of my way.
We've been married for three years this July. Have a beautiful baby boy and another on the way. Everyday I thank God for sending me him. His timing is truly best.
What I was going through in my life is a long story, but I needed a man of God to help me through it. And He sent me just that.
I still dress modestly, but I've gotten better at ditching jeans and hoodies. Thankful for that too 😂

And just yesterday we were having a convo about how people dress and what is acceptable and not. She is very young, a lot of things she does not fully grasp. You are a blessing to this generation. I’m glad I’ve found you because I’ve really been trying make the right changes in my dressing and I realised how hard the other way is pushed and shoved in our faces constantly. It's so fascinating to me that women like you complain as to how oppressive these standards are (coz it's set by men/ bible) but somehow wearing revealing clothing or even going bare naked is somewhat liberating when truth of the matter is... just like the bible women wearing little to none is also a product of the patriarchy. Hence the saying 's3x work is the oldest profession'. But for some reason, women like you think it's liberating (when in reality you're just simply being objectified) but the former is somewhat 'wrong' because it's women being exploited for their naivity when truthfully speaking women dressing modest and women dressed immodest is just simply 2 sides of the same coin. And I would argue women dressed modestly (just like most women's sentiments here) makes men focus on a woman's personality and mannerism instead of her body. But why is it that you think you're opinion is right but theirs is not when women here (just like yourself) made a conscious choice?
Now before you make the argument: 'That's why we should teach boys/ men to not see womem as s3x objects'.
Let me ask you this: If I as a man was to court a woman and showed her how lavish my lifestyle is and how much money I have and the things I can buy her, but then unfortunately decided to exploit me (buy her clothes, food, book tripa, etc..). Is it my fault or her? Should I have held myself accountable and have been more cautious as to how I presented myself or should we just simply teach girls/ women not to exploit men (just like how we should teach men to not objectify women who dress immodestly?

I have started my faith journey and I also felt the pressure before being saved to dress in a half naked outfit and I realized when I went out I would not feel confident and I would feel like everyone is staring at me. I now have been on my modesty journey and I feel so beautiful! I love it and I honestly feel like it suits me more.

At first when we were first going to church ( 3-4 years ago ) I did not want to be “modest” I hated the idea of skirts and dresses. But legit today I feel more confident in them, I look and just think that I look way better in skirts than in pants. God opened my eyes to that and he helped my confidence grow. ❤️

I liked hearing about how the Proverbs 31 woman did dress well & within her means. I also really like the idea of going on Pinterest and finding the styles you like, then shopping ONLY for those. I’ve been a lot more disciplined in my shopping lately, and I have been making fashion Pinterest boards. But I usually go to target or old navy and that’s it…I like the idea of going to an actual mall to shop for specific items across different stores.

I just want to love this so many times! God has really been doing a work in my heart in my clothes. I don’t want to say I’m outwardly immodest in ways, but God is still refining me in terms of not wanting to look like the best in the room or attract attention to myself just based on looks- even if it’s not sexual in nature.
