As an apostolic woman I’ve worn only skirts and dresses for almost 40 years now and have only gotten positive comments from people(esp at the gym with leggings under skirts). I have lived in different climates from very hot to cold and changing seasons. Dressing this way is doable year round! I love that other women are embracing godly modesty and femininity!! Your video made me smile!❤
Sally, you are a light to this world! I’m so happy you confirmed this! You played long game and it’s possible! God bless you, sweet friend!
Apostolic Pentecostal here! I also do skirts and dresses year round. Tights are a must. I also really love thermal base layers. (Cuddle Duds is a brand I use) If you can find them, fleece undershirts or fleece-lined undershirts are GREAT! If your boots are loose enough, wool socks or even ski socks are nice. For skiing, I wear slick pants that protect from water/wind underneath a ski skirt. The brand Snoga just released a cold-weather/ski skirt.
I adore the comfort and freedom of long skirts. They are dressy, easy, and modest. All your pairings make lovely outfits. Thanks for this post.
Hi Veronica! I do, too! That's why I feel so passionate about this topic! I think more women would benefit from exploring it, especially if they are noticing pulls to it. God bless you for your kind words this morning!
As an older stylish woman of 73; I must say 'GOOD For YOU' in keeping stylishly modest. You are Darling and look like you're 16 years old : )
What a way to start my morning! Your comment just made me smile from ear to ear! Thank you for showing us that playing the long game is so important and well worth it! God bless you!

As a woman and child of God. I wear dresses and skirt to please the one the formed me and created me in my mom's womb that what it says in the good book 📙 (bible) I love how you matched everything so lovely but your much thinner than I am . I use to be thin but as I hit my 50s and now in my 60s alone, single well I eat when and what I want. I'm a widow. Have a blessed evening
Had to chuckle when you said your can walk in a skirt! I am a conservative, modest woman, and one time a person commented to me "I never saw a woman in a dress riding a bike!". Yes, mam, women have been riding bikes (and walking, etc) in dresses and skirts for a looooog time.
100000%!!!!
Also you just wanna ask "when was the last time you rode a bike?" 😂 I mean seriously, some women are always so worried about all these hypothetical situations that a skirt "won't work for" that they never even do in the first place.
I like that you dress modestly without looking frumpy and feeling like you have to wear super loose clothing. You're dressed modestly, look feminine and look stylish at the same time. Even though I don't strictly wear skirts, I like your style ideas. I think some women have this thought that the looser their clothing is and the more plain that they look, the closer to God they are. You can dress modestly and still have style!!☺️
Wow, thank you! I’m so happy you shared these very nice, thoughtful compliments with me! I agree with you and think women ABSOLUTELY can look stylish without sacrificing modesty! They don’t need to wear around a shapeless garment or wear sweatpants! God bless you!!
You made me so happy today, finally, a Catholic American who gets it. I am an old woman born in the 1940s in Bavaria, on a farm. No woman then, until the 1970s ever wore pants, we did all the farm and garden work in skirts, I still do, can't stand the confinement of pants, and reject Jeans for moral reasons. I buy in thrift shops, sew and alter a lot and knit warm things. I always get compliments and men behave like gentlemen to me because I look like a lady, As a Catholic I am appalled at how the women dress at Mass and in general - older women with big bodies in skintight jeans and poly tops. I wonder if they ever look at their back side in a double mirror? I think Our Lady is very happy with you as well, you are performing a ministry to make women feminine again, the way our Creator meant it for us, And, you are beautiful and warm, inside and out.
Your comment has brought me to tears! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I have consecrated myself to the Blessed Mother, so you have no idea what that means to me! Thank you for being here. It can be scary to say something that the world will not like for fear of persecution, and you reminded me how valuable it is to tell the truth for God's glory! God bless you!
Love this entire comment - God bless you Margarita ❤
I am not catholic but i am a.Christian. what do you mean concecrated yourself to the Lady? Do you mean to Mary? I dont see that in the Bible. I read kjv or niv......is it just a symbolism you do to honor God? I dont understand why catholics say hail Mary either because i dont read about that in the Bible?@inacecilia
I do like your modesty views and cute clothing
@rachelmaples9692The Angel of the Lord said the first “ Hail Mary” at the Incarnation…all of which is very much in the Bible. Mary is all about giving Jesus Christ and bringing us closer to Him. Also biblical…😅Christ founded His Catholic Church ( thou art Peter, and upon this rock I build my Church) to teach us, including teaching us what is not typed in the Bible. Christ taught his Apostles, the first Bishops, many things on top of what is noted in the Bible. This is called Tradition. Revelation is contained in the written word AND in Tradition. This fact is also explained in the Bible, which says it would take too many books to contain all that Christ taught.
When Catholics consecrate themselves to Our Lady, we dedicate our life to honouring God by imitating and honouring His Holy Mother.❤
@@granmabern5283 Thank you so much; I was ill and didn't get to respond yet, now I am glad, because you did it so beautifully and perfectly for me. Blessed, you and I am sure, the Blessed Mother is smiling and Jesus, the Word of God is comforted by your faith and witness. Ave Maria!
Also, I’m happy to see someone showing you can be modest and stylish.
You have really blessed my morning! I am so grateful for your input! I know it has blessed so many others who will read them as well! God bless you, my new friend! I hope to see you in my 3-day Style challenge in 2 days!
You have inspired me! I'm not a catholic woman but I am a believer. Your desire to honor God is a noble and beautiful thing. Keep speakimg for femininity!
Hi Doris! Thank you SO MUCH! You made my afternoon happier and brighter with your comment! I appreciate your sincere encouragement. I will definitely be speaking up for femininity much more! God bless you!
Interestingly enough, my definition of what is long and short in the skirt world is shifting. Thank you Ina💕
I agree, totally! If I didn't realize how much more flattering maxi skirts look when styled well, I wouldn't have switched over! :) I think God did that on purpose!
This is a wonderful reminder that our bodies are a temple for the Holy Spirit within us..i love these looks🫶 you look beautiful in all ..
Thank you Kat! You’re a blessing! I’m so glad you are here to provide encouragement and insight! I agree completely! We are temples of the Holy Spirit and let’s show it! God bless you!
I loved you said I’m a mom and not first , I’ll do it tomorrow . Same now I’m 80 and my husband has Parkinson’s and it’s the same story :) I hardly have time to do toenails. . We are married 50 years and I thank God I still have him . Love your channel.
Margaret, you brought me to tears! Thank you for sharing your story! Congratulations on 50 years! I will keep you in my prayers! Thank you for being so uplifting!
I love how you went through the various layers. I wear skirts and dresses all year as well. Leggings and layers are a must. I wish I could wear wool ... I'm allergic. I loved the green dress with sweater combo. Thanks for the ideas! I pray many women find inspiration and try on a lifestyle that is so honoring to ourselves as women (and bring honor to God).
Absolutely! You are a brilliant beautiful woman to say all of this! Thank you for visiting and showing support. It's so wonderful to connect with women like you! :)
The UA-cam algorithm knows me well for once 👀 Lol! So happy to have stumbled across this video and your channel. I am also a Catholic mom of soon to be 2 and have been wearing only skirts and dresses for 5 years now! I love how pretty and feminine it feels and it is so fun sharing with others how you can still be stylish and modest ❤️❤️ Loved this video! Looking forward to seeing more 😊
Yay! It sounds like we are going to be great friends! Congratulations on your second! That is so amazing! I have 4 of my own and I remember my second one very vividly! You are a blessing to your children, especially since you feel convicted about something that seems trivial, but is actually so important and so simple when setting the example for our children. Thank you for blessing my morning! I hope to see you more often and in our style challenge! I will also be doing bump-friendly and postpartum/nursing-friendly outfits soon!
"I want to be mindful that my family lives here too, and it's not just a recording studio." Wow! What a beautiful statement!
Thank you for this video. It's great. I wear dresses but in the last few years have had some health issues and my body runs much colder than it used to be. I'm going to go find some layering options!
Thank you so much! And I really believe it! Both the recording and the style! I understand your quandary and I am so glad my examples inspired you! Stay warm, sweet friend!
@@inacecilia Thank you! I went thrifting this afternoon after watching your video and found some pieces inspired by examples you shared. Appreciate it.
Very inspiring thank you, love your heart to honor God in your daily life
Thank you! That means the world to me that you took time to share your sweet words! I hope to see you in my 3-day style challenge today!
Our Lady often gifts me perfect cheaper clothes at thrift stores. Exactly what I will be looking for !
YEAH GIRL!!!!!!!! I try to treat those thrift store ladies with such kindness and love. The other day, I wrote my thrift store ladies a long letter, thanking them for allowing me to buy items at such a cheap cost so that I can still feel beautiful, but also afford baseball gear for my sons and other Mom things that are "more important." You are a blessing, Randy!
Your clothes are all so flattering on you. My grandmother only wore dresses and was such an inspiration as are you. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Leslie! It was a lot of trial and error! I never felt more comfortable and confident than I do now because I am in clothes that I don't need to fuss! God bless you!
Thank you for this lovely video.
I'm a 63 year old grandma and I mostly wear skirts and dresses. And I layer just as you do in the winter and feel like I can be so much warmer as our hands are in mittens than they are in gloves.
There was a time when I was exclusively wearing skirts and dresses and no pants and then I got a few pairs of loose pants for doing dangerous house renovation. But like you: exercise, swimming, gardening, household chores, I feel like I am in the role that the Lord call me to while wearing dresses.
I just subscribed and look forward to your videos.
That's wonderful! Thanks for sharing your personal story, Danielle! You are an inspiration! I pray God continues to bless you!
You looked beautiful in everything you modelled for us. Thank you for giving me some great winter warm ideas.... 🥰🇬🇧🐾🐾🏡❄️⛄
Awww thank you, Shuna! You’re a blessing to me today! Yes, let’s all stay warm and cozy!!! 💕
I sooo love this video Ina. I love wearing dresses, too. I feel I can move more freely than wearing pants. I used to have skirts and blouses, too, but I am slowly transitioning to just dresses because I find it difficult to mix and match since I'm not good at fashion. So, it will be all dresses, for me. I love all the pieces you shared.
Thank you so much, my beautiful friend! YES! Wearing only dresses and skirts has been a calling on my heart and I am at least one year into it! I don’t see myself ever going back! It’s beautiful and wonderful and so freeing! God bless you on this journey!
Me too! I find that my tops and bottoms end up staying in the closet due to the difficulty with matching and the extra expense of replacing tops. It also leads to more spending. I just keep my tough cotton twill for tough work and my cotton linen blend for work.
Love the fits and your message!! Glorify God in all that we do. Amen!!!
Absolutely, Julie! When brushing our teeth, when putting on our leggings, when boiling our pasta... in everything! Thank you for blessing my day!
Love this!!! So cute and warm and modest and yet totally not frumpy!!
Thank you!! I feel like “frump” needs a rebrand and needs to be cool again. 😆 you have got my wheels turning! thank you for blessing my night!!! I am so grateful for your sweet words!!
I love wearing dresses and skirts any day
ME TOO! Let's keep spreading the word!
4:06 “I don’t want to look like a marshmallow.” 😅 Me either! Which is exactly why I’m watching your video. You are so helpful - thank you!!! Great ideas, I really appreciate your video.
I'm glad I brought a little humor to your day, Laura! Thank you so much for being here and making ME smile! I mean, I'm sure I look real "Jet puff" here and there, but I'm trying to avoid it to preserve my dignity! ;D God bless you!
I live in a cold climate and in when in university and had to walk outside in cold and snow I wore thick tights and wool skirts - perfectly warm.
Sounds like you were the wiser! I wish I had that kind of wisdom when I was in university :D
I just found your channel and I love all of the outfits. Over the last few years I have been convicted to wear dresses and skirts. I don't have trouble staying warm but it is very difficult to stay modest in the extreme heat we have for 6 months here in Texas. One can do most everything in a skirt but I wear overalls while working with power tools, a chainsaw, or climbing a ladder. (I'm widowed so no husband to help with farm chores)
I’m so glad you found my channel too! I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. Praying for you! I have been on ladders in dresses and I get it, so I’m glad you’re being safe! God bless you!’
Man I do just you dresses and walking and saying the rosary. So glad to see this video
Thank you so much, Marian! You are a blessing to me today! I hope to see you in day 2 of our Style Challenge today!
You look very nice in all the outfits! Love the layering!
Thank you, Lavoya! You are a sweetheart for saying this to me! This made my morning extra special!
I found it hard when my children were growing up to always be trying to make “outfits”. I lived in chronic pain, and was in survival mode most of the time. I had to lie down all during the day. Yes, I homeschooled my children, too. Everyone’s circumstances are different. I didn’t care what I was wearing, as long as it was covering all of my body. I love your outfits! Please be compassionate to those of us who barely could survive. I love you all!
OF COURSE! My hope is to simplify the process so that women do not feel like it is a huge mountain to climb! I will keep you in my prayers, sweet mama!
@@inacecilia Thank you for your kind heart! I loved your video, and will take from it what I can use. ❤️
I just found your videos and I love them. Ive been wearing dresses and skirts only for two or three years now and it warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. I love this video! St. Therese is my patron Saint. This is so wonderful, God Bless and keep up the good work teaching other women. You look beautiful!
Thank you so much, Phoebe! It sounds like we have a lot in common! You are a blessing to me today and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers throughout the week! I hope you stick around and that you sign up for my 3-Day Style challenge so that we can connect more! God bless you!
Love how you put everything together and how stylish you look. Modest dressing never went out of style and it is more flattering. Thank you ❣️
Hi Katherine! I’m so glad you like it! I’m so happy you are here! 🙏🏻💕 I agree with you completely! I think women look so classy when they dress modestly!
@inacecilia When dressing modestly does not mean women have to look like a ragamuffin lol and sloppy. You are proving that. Keep sharing and encouraging. Thank you for responding with me. I am a grd-mothe of 70 and live on a mountain with my husband . 💞's.
I am a grandmother of teenagers. Your video is lovely, and you mentioned a Mary and Elizabeth community that I hope to see soon!
Hi there! I'm so glad you enjoyed! Thank you so much for your encouragement! Yes, here's a sneak peek at the community: lifewiththesaints.com/mecommunity/
:)
I am tall and wear dresses everyday. My skirts and dresses aren’t usually to my ankles but are all past my knees. Just love leggings underneath
Veronica, YES! That's what I'm saying! You are a testament! :) God bless you!
I love the blazer …. And for the record, I love rugs!😂😂So there’s that! My favorite outfit of all is the Everlane Cashmere with the brown wool maxi skirt!! I couldn’t remember where I had seen those lace-up boots before (until I watched this most recent video 😅) but I had been searching and searching for a similar pair , and found some I love that will last a long time (genuine leather). When my husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I not only had the link ready, but had been watching it to see if they stayed in stock in my size and/or went on sale. As God also answered my prayers, they went on sale the week of Thanksgiving, so it wasn’t making me feel like I was straining the budget in asking for them.😂😂😂 please do more of these videos! I love to see what other modest-minded, Godly women are wearing. Because we do not need to conform to the world’s standards in how we dress! Much love! Happy New Year!🥰💜
Yay! You’re my kind of people FOR SURE! Thank you for gracing me with your kindness today. I loved your personal story! I will definitely be sharing more on style! God bless you!!
@ 🥰
I love dresses too!
That's wonderful, Inelda! I bet you look beautiful in them!
thank you for all the ideas, you look lovely. blessings to you and your family for the new year 🙏
You're so sweet! I'm sending blessings your way, too!
I’ve purchased multiple ‘golf’ skirts that have built in shorts with pockets. I’m wearing these to work out, hang around the house and run errands. I can always wear tights underneath on cold days. Loving it!
You read my mind! I am going to do "swim" or "bathing suit" videos soon with these! Thank you for blessing me with the reminder!
I subscribed immediately! I support fellow Skirty Girls. 👗
Yay! Welcome, Alice! :) I'm so happy you're here, blessing my channel and blessing others!
Some lovely outfits and you pair them so well. Modesty with style, great stuff.
Thank you for your kind words, Anita! I'm so happy you are here! I hope to see you in my 3-day style challenge!
I love skirts, turtle necks and vests...lovely outfits u have put together here. Thank u for sharing.
Thank you, Denise! I’m the same way (as you can see)! It’s so comfortable and I love that I don’t have to worry about anything hanging out! God bless you!
Thank you! I just found your channel I live in SoCal and love wearing dresses since my reversion to Catholicism and try to encourage other women to do the same. I think it's such a beautiful to way to evangelize others 🙏🩵🙏
Yay! Welcome back! I reverted in 2022 as well and I'm so glad I'm back! It sounds like we need to connect in person since we probably live pretty close by each other! God bless you!
Just curious - I'm not Catholic, but in reading the comments, I'm wondering if maybe the Catholic church is telling women to wear skirts or dresses.
I myself am protestant and 62 years old, and I've really been wanting to ditch pants for skirts. I finally got that figured out for the summer season with midi and maxi skirts and dresses, but was quite lost for winter. This video helped. Part of the struggle was not knowing what shoes to wear with a skirt, but I really do love the flat ankle-high cowboy boots with the pencil skirt in this video. Some great ideas here.
My mother made herself some 100% cotton slips to wear under her dresses and skirts. I have been thinking of making myself at least one. We don't often see any women in dresses anymore. Weight gain or weight loss does not show in some dresses. The only thing I don't like about those pencil skirts are the open splits (vents) in the back. Pencil skirts were called straight skirts when I was young; and, they had a boxed pleat instead of an open vent in the back.
Hi there! Thank you for sharing that wisdom! Yes, I wish there was that boxed pleat, too! I'll be on the lookout for more of those! And I love the idea of 100% cotton slips! I need to try that! God bless you! :)
Looks really smart, cosy and warm - and it looks great!
Thanks, Marie! I am soooo comfortable in these!! You’re a blessing for gracing me with these compliments today!!
Love your style especially the vests and 90s rug blazer! Looking forward to your class next week. I’ve owned zero pants since about 2018 and can confirm for you nobody cares that I’m skirts and dresses only lol. I go hunting, ride four wheelers, go swimming at the beach, go out on the boat, lift weights at the gym in skirts with leggings. I guess I’m more surprised no one ever asks what I’m doing lol.
THIS!!!!!! Yes yes yes! You should be co-teaching with me! 💕💕💕💕 soul sisters for sure!!
I have finding smocked sleeveless dresses in Kohls I wear them in the summer and winter with long sleeve tops knee highs and leggings. In Northern New England
Our weather can vary within each season so I am very happy to have the flexibility of being comfortable. There is a company in Washington State that sells all year round wool garments. I could not afford to purchase from them, but they look beautiful and they offer a bonus for anyone who wears a garment of theirs for 100 days straight
@@oldgreymarewholovestolaughWhat is the name of the company? I live up here in Quebec, and good clothes are getting scarce in the thrift shops. Most women here wear spandex or jeans…😮I would like to invest in one or two new warm skirts… without having to order them from overseas.
Love that vintage wool skirt!
I do too! I'm obsessed with looking for them, now! I don't always buy them, but I'm always keeping my eye open! Thank you for sharing a smile with me today!
@@inaceciliaGlad you popped up on my feed. I am trying to eventually wear all dresses and skirts. My winter wardrobe is very meager. I have 1 skirt and 1 dress. I also have no boots. I am very hard to fit with shoes!
You are really giving me more ideas about layering! Thanks!!!
I am so happy to hear that! Layers can definitely be light if you need them to be (for coverage/modesty purposes) and cozy if you are looking for that warmth! :) God bless you!!
What a beautiful woman you are modeling for your children and what a delight for your husband. Bless, K
Thank you so much, K! I really appreciate your kind, sincere words! I am just trying to glorify God in all that I do! You are a blessing to me!
I love my new merino wool leggings - rhey extended my warmer weather skirts into the winter ❄️❄️ so grateful for these leggings 😊
HOW DO I NOT OWN MERINO WOOL LEGGINGS?!?! I have homework tonight! :) :) God bless you, sweet friend!!
You are so clever at layering!
Thank you! I try to make layering as easy as possible! I love how a good layer can make such a difference! You are a blessing, Nancy!
Love your outfits! Fun video! You look beautiful in all of them! ☺️✨
Thank you, dear friend! I am so glad you enjoyed it and I hope you got some inspiration! Keeping you in my prayers today!
I liked all your outfits. I also imagine myself wearing skirts and dresses. I even browsed the websites yesterday for new skirts and dresses. And then I realized that I wear pants because I love the comfort of sneakers, and not many dresses will come nicely with sneakers.
Sneakers look great with dresses, depending on which socks you choose.
Thank you for your sweet words! I agree about the sneakers comment and have tried to match them here and there, but it's not quite right! I try to find memory foam flats or shoes that are sort of like KEDS. I hope that is helpful when you are playing around with your style!
Also, I talk about this in my challenge! I hope to see you in my 3-day style challenge today!
Very nice. Love the shearling coat. Nothing like shearling when it's cold.
Thank you! My husband has one exactly like it, so it's kind of fun to be dorky together and match. They were his grandfather's and grandmother's. I definitely love how warm I feel in them! God bless you for being here!
I absolutely love that black skirt. The outfit with the brown shirt is my absolute favorite of all the outfits you showed
Thank you so much, Alisha! I figured that there may be something for everyone in this video and I'm glad to show diverse looks! I appreciate your sweet words!
I've got a thicker waist, so I have given up tights for leggings. When it is super cold, I have plus-size silk long underwear (from Lands End) that keeps my legs and core super warm! A half slip is great for keeping polyester skirts from sticking to leggings. For outside chores and gardening, I found a plus-size maxi-length jean skirt with handy front pockets at JC Penney. I agree with you: dressing is worth serious thought. A modest neckline is no lower than two finger widths below the collarbone, but layering and using scarves can create that V-neckline visually. Great video, lots of thought-filled ideas! Merry Christmas!
Oooohh! I loved your comment! I really appreciated that you gave some insight for women who can relate to your experiences. Thank you for sharing this! You have so much wisdom! :)
I love your outfits, I really like dresses and skirts. I’m Catholic too.
Hello Rosabella! I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Thank you for being kind to me today! My hope is to continue to inspire women and your encouragement means the world to me! I will keep you in my prayers!
Thank you for this! Can’t wait for the challenge to start next week! 😆
I can’t wait to meet up with you there! I am always happy you are here! 💕🌸
For senior women who do not drive, who do not have someone to drive them to stores, church, anywhere - who have to wait for public transportation in temps ranging between -10C and -30C, wearing thermals under pants/tops is essential (especially if one has Raynauds).
Yes yes yes! You're absolutely right! I would give you rides if you were in my town! :) God bless you!
Yes. And a skirt on top gives you an area of warmer air around your legs and fanny…😅
Very lovely❤ . I enjoyed your wisdom, Keep it coming.😊
Thank you so much! I pray to God that He will always bless me with the right words to say and an audience full of people who give me grace, just like you! :) God bless you!
Love that 1st pair of black boots! I've been looking for a pair like that. Brand?
This is such a great video! I used to work in fashion (years ago in another life lol), and being able to dress modestly without looking frumpy is incredibly important. Keeping ourselves up can absolutely be a fantastic way to glorify The Lord. Its also a beautiful way to reclaim femininity, and for those of you who are married, a way to honor your husbands. I think a lot of times, we can lose track of these things when trying ro set ourselves apart from the world. I also nanny a for a family from my church, and the dad has lamented that he worries about the lack of fashionable modest attire that will be available for his 6 yr old once she hits her teens. Hes not living under a rock, and absolutely understands that she will likely want to dress in a way that makes her feel cute as she becomes a young lady. Right now she's a hot mess, and will wear a 4th of July skirt under a winter dress and be ready to go 😂 . I digress, more videos like this will go a long way in helping young girls bridge the gap, and find that sweet spot of feeling feminine and beautiful, in a way that honors God.
I absolutely love your digression! You are MY kind of people! :) :) :) There is no brand on my boots because I thrifted them and it was love at first sight, so I just snagged them without looking up the brand! But my shorter tan ankle boots are from NISOLO (again, another eBay purchase :)). Thank you for sharing your real world experiences that validates what I am saying (and what I will be going over in my 3-day challenge!). You are awesome and I hope others read your experience as confirmation that we are on to something! God bless you!
I love the modesty; love the layers. Lotsa layers get very difficult for us ladies with hot flashes. I’d c love to see some cool, light layers with quick on-off over layers without looking frumpy!
Hi Kristin! Thanks for the suggestion! Let me see what I can do! :) :) God bless you!
Me too! I usually stick to cardigans, as they can be whipped off as needed without going over the head.
A good soft cashmere or wool scarf is great for keeping warm. Wrapped around the neck or if it's cooler, worn as a shawl. If you start getting a hot flash, it can be removed in a Superman second. (Also, consignment shops always seem to have a great selection as it gets toward Winter. )
I never wear pants and I love this ! So happy I found you channel fellow Catholic pilgrim ❤
Yay! I know that it's such an odd concept to some, but let's talk about some other elephants in the room that many people have trouble talking about: dresses REINFORCE the difference between men and women! Let's teach our children! I don't want to keep telling my children the difference when the world screams at them. I want to SHOW them the difference. God bless you!!
New Catholic subscriber! What a lovely channel. ✝️Ave Maria ~
Hi Amanda! I am so happy you’re here! I love that we are building community everywhere we are and I will keep you and your family in my prayers! You have blessed my day today! I look forward to connecting more with you this year!
Love your outfits. They look great and usable!
Thank you Shannon! From pulling weeds to playing with LEGO, I can do everything in these outfits, so I want to encourage other women like me! God bless you!!
Love all your outfits 😍
Thank you so much, my beautiful friend! I appreciate your kind words! I hope to see you in my 3-day style challenge today!
I started wearing only skirts and dresses a few years ago. I just love my linen skirts. They are easy to layer up.
That's wonderful! Thank you for sharing! And it looks like you're still going strong! I LOVE LINEN TOO! I love the look and feel, especially in the summer! God bless you!
@inacecilia Thank you!
Yeay Ina! Loved this, you are very beautiful. I find with layers i dont always get it right and just feel really uncomfortable. I do feel the cold and can definitely feel more marshmallow! 🤣 Good job i signed up for your course! Xx
Thank you so much, my beautiful friend! Yes, no marshmallows needed! :) I am so excited to connect with you next week! You have blessed me so much on this channel! I'm grateful for you!
I love all your outfits.
God bless you.
Thank you so much, Pam! You are a blessing to me!
Very well done. You put them together perfectly. You look lovely in the out fits. SO practical too. I think wearing dresses is more comfortable than pants. Love skirts and culottes and I know culottes are not in stye, but I love them. So comfortable and you can do anything in them. Peace!
Thank you for your sweet words! You made my morning! I think they’re more comfortable, too! I love that they’re not constraining! God bless you!
All dresses so cute and beautiful
Thank you so much for being so kind to me! You are a blessing! I am happy you are here! :)
As an older woman, I’m dying seeing you put on all of those layers. I’m always overheated lol. You look cute though.
Same here. At 60, I thought, "Honey, in menopause you'll be down to one layer even in winter, and still have to have personal fans everywhere". But I, too, wear only skirts and dresses (wide-brimmed hats in the summer, antique brooches or pearls, real handkerchiefs, ballet flats around the house/heels going somewhere, and aprons in the kitchen) every day, and appreciate the message of dressing modestly. For me, it has nothing to do with religion or being a trad wife, I just remember when most women and girls only wore skirts and dresses everywhere, every day, and it's classically comfortable for me so... life happens, but I can deal with things at least without feeling frumpy. Older gentlemen compliment me at the store. I think they miss that look, too. I love being feminine.
Haha awww my intention is not to get women to feel stressed at the layers! Temperatures drop lower than the teens where I live! Thank you for your grace! :)
Hi Carrie! Thank you for your honesty! I love those feminine details you add! I know my ideas may not be for everyone but there are some women who probably really needed the ideas! :) God bless you for your grace with me! And I love that older gentlemen compliment you at the store! We need to bring that back!
This message is inspiring on so many levels and I love the added environmental effects. It would be awesome to see this become part of Catholic school curriculum and church catechism classes. It's refreshing to see this message from a beautiful young mother.😇
I FEEL THE SAME WAY! In fact, you inspired me to make another video on this topic! I went to Catholic school and uniforms shaped my whole view of this!! Stay tuned!!
I grew up wearing skirts and standing at the bus stop in zero degree weather and below. I have learned that it’s possible to be warmer. Since the skirt isn’t close to your legs, you can be more protected from the cold.
I do wear pants now . And I do believe in modesty. I wear long shirts to keep covered. ( in front of others )
Thank you for sharing your story! Yes, the logistics make sense! I hope more women are able to experiment and see that! Thank you for being here and being so positive. I hope to see you in my 3-day style challenge today!
@@inacecilia awwww thank you so much. I'm just now seeing this comment as I've been away from my laptop for days. I hope it went well! God bless you my sister! it is beautiful to see women who still care about modesty! :)
You have class! So nice!
Wow, thanks Judy! It balances my children's snot on my sleeves. :D Thank you for being so kind to me today!
I also like what you said to encourage woman to try wearing dresses... "maybe you're wearing the wrong dress." I've thought this a lot. When you wear dresses daily, you build a closet of "day dresses". I don't always wear my best dresses on a daily basis, and certainly not when I'm extremely cold in winter. You build a wardrobe with versatile pieces which can endure everyday activity. I like dresses which I can paint in, clean in, take my daughter to the jump park in etc. This is not to say I've never worn my Easter dress well into summertime and enjoyed being fancy lol. But the truth is this: just like people don't wear their best slacks everyday, but have jeans, or leggings, so too do dress-wearers also vary the styles of dresses in their closet. The cut and fabric of a dress can greatly affect your experience wearing dresses daily.
Thank you for validating me! I thought I was being a little harsh, but yes! There are so many stretchy rayon/nylon/spandex blends that are so comfortable and breathable and you can move around so easily in them! I appreciate you saying this! :) :) And yes, let's wear those nicer dresses MORE instead of just one time!
@@inacecilia I'm glad it was validating. I think it was a really good point and I'm glad you brought it up. And agreed on wearing nicer dresses more! I enjoy it a lot
I really like your style, you are beautiful!
Awww, thank you Sarah! I really feel most comfortable and confident with CLOTHES. When I was a teenager and wore less, I felt less secure. I hope to empower more women to embrace layers because it is really freeing!!!! God bless you for blessing me and my channel today! I hope to see you in the 3-day challenge!
I wouldn't wear a slip with the wool skirt, It's lined already.
I just am in love with the green outfit!
Thank you for that tip! I usually don't wear the slip with it, but wanted to (1) remain covered up in this video as much as I could, and (2) encourage more women to wear slips! :) And thank you! I love the green outfit too! Green is one of my favorite colors and I just love wearing it! I seem to buy a lot of green items. :D God bless you!
@ lol I have green everywhere. I love it!
Lovely! ❤
Thank you so much, Narcisa!!
The outfit at 8:30 is sooooooo cute! My favorite!
Thank you, Lynne! I had so much fun putting these together and I am so glad I was able to share it with you and others! You are a blessing to me today!
Lovely presentation of your way of dressing in the winter! I'm impressed that you actually wear 7 layers (including bra and camisole) in the first outfit and look so nice, slim and feminine. All suits you so well and you look gorgeous and adorable! Yes I'm really looking to your challenge to get more wisdom you share so generously! And it's so good you do voiceovers because you comment on various aspect we notice...I had to smile when you commented on the underskirt that you have your opinion..as I was just thinking you don't wear it daily..now I'm curious to hear your explanation. I found it great you recorded on the balcony and the dog and your daughter were a nice surprise, and my children would die for the playground which is behind (I guessed it's your neighbours) 😊
May you and your family be blessed with health and inner peace this year! 🙏❤
Your words always uplift my day! Thank you for being so generous ALWAYS! My dog and my children really wanted to be out here, definitely! Thankfully, those neighbors let us play in that area from time to time since they are only on the mountain part-time. 😊 God bless you! I look forward to hanging out with you in the challenge next week!
Love St. Therese!🌻✨just watched the movie on UA-cam about her life.. so sweet💖
A treasure beyond measure! I’m so glad you found my channel! I still haven’t watched that movie so I need to check it out! Thank you for reminding me! 💕
9:27 I love Jack London’s “Call of the Wild” and I vaguely remember that movie version with (Mia Sara?)! I love the 1800s look. I think it’s so fun to get inspired by books and film.
I also love your vintage looks. (That great 90s blazer!)
It’s a great variety and I like how you also wear form-fitting on the top to balance the super flowing on the bottom. I’ve been loving the oversized comfy sweaters over skirts or dresses but sometimes it’s nice to have a more feminine top to pair with the skirt.
Edit: ok I really love your style, and I’m not Catholic but I’m subscribing 🥰🥰🥰
It sounds like we would probably love to be next-door neighbors! :) Christiana, you are a blessing to me! Thank you so much for sharing your kindness with me! And yes, yes, yes to everything you said! Thank you for complimenting me and my style! I have put a lot of thought into it and I think it has lots of value to women if we channel it in the right way! God bless you!
My grandma wore dress whilst hoeing field of strawberries! And her straw hat.
Your grandma is A BOSS!! That's exactly what I'm saying! So many activities are possible if we just let ourselves think that way. And I bet she still felt feminine and beautiful amid the dirt. God bless you for sharing this!
Thank you! Cute, practical layers. 🙏🏼
You're very welcome, Robyn! Thanks for blessing my day with your sweet words! And yes, I believe in practicality!
I just came across your channel and perfect timing as I have just fully transitioned my closet to winter and now I want to pull back out my dresses that I thought were too light for the season instead of thinking about thin layers underneath. Thank you for the inspiration! And may I ask where you purchased those beautiful suede boots??
I'm so glad to hear that, Cady! Yes, I support it! Do it! You will be so happy you did! I bought the suede boots at the thrift store (like 99% of my items) and there's no brand! But here's a comparable one: tinyurl.com/488bw82k
I have purchased from this brand before and it's pretty solid quality! Many, many wears for not a lot of cost! I hope this helps. :) I got my other boots from Nisolo (ebay find too :))
Layers is key❤
I agree ONE THOUSAND MILLION PERCENT! Thanks for your input, Jennifer!
Boots are great with that skirt. It’s not too short for those boots
Thank you! I appreciate your encouragement!
Here in northeast Ohio during the winter months under my skirts and dresses thermal underwear made with cotton or silk. I find that thermal underwear is cheaper and good quality when sold at the local ski shops
THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE TIP! Thank you for sharing this with me and everyone! And I love that the cotton and silk are so breathable! Thank you for blessing us with your wisdom today!
I've also found the best wool socks at a local ski shop.
Thank you for your modest ideas for keeping warm in the.winter. I'm not Catholic but I'm still a Christ follower and I only wear skirts and dresses. I tried wearing pencil skirts but I found they are just uncomfortable for my chubby body. Happy New Year!
I couldn't help but smile at what you said! I don't like pencil skirts either! I think they are way too snug! I like to eat a burrito every once in a while and need the room! :) God bless you!
You look beautiful! The outfit is gorgeous- but I’m currently 8 months pregnant and all those layers are giving me anxiety 😂 I usually just opt for feeling cold and modest - I love your style. Just followed your channel
Congratulations! Yay! What's funny is I started watching outfit videos when I was pregnant with my third and now I want to do some pregnancy outfits for women who felt like they needed a little smile and inspiration during this season. Thank you for being here! I'm sorry that I'm making everyone feel so hot :D Praying for you and a healthy pregnancy and delivery!
@ Thank you, this is my fourth and I still have to rebuy maternity clothes every time as I haven’t yet unlocked the code to cute modest and maternity. Maternity clothing videos would be greatly appreciated!!
Get knitting thigh high wool socks will help immensely.
Excellent tip! Thank you!
@inacecilia
I love knitting socks and have so many I give them away to everyone. Last year I first knit really long socks about a metre long and increased according to my leg diameter. They are so cosy I recommend them wholeheartedly.
In the 70s we wore vintage house dresses out of the 40s which fit beautifully. We were the whole earth hippie people.
Yes yes yes! Love those! I have always loved muumuus and boho dresses of every cut, print, and color! Thank you for sharing this!
For winter, all you need is wool. it can be wool long johns or wool skirt, wool sweater, wool socks...AND, wool long johns with a wool skirt is toastier than a pair of jeans or slacks.
WOOL IS MY LOVE LANGUAGE! YES!
You're so cute you'd look good in a paper bag, but you do have a great sense of style!
Oh my goodness, I literally laughed out loud when I read this. Thank you so much! Sometimes I feel like wearing a paper bag but I try to put an outfit together anyhow! You blessed my night!
I also subscribed to you because you are awesome!
@@inacecilia Many thanks; I need a kick to re-start my channel!
I worked at a gym and a woman worked out in a long dress and tennis shoes. One employee wanted to kick her out for dressing inappropriately for a gym. I stopped that - she was welcome to wear that, it wasn’t dangerous or inappropriate.
Wow! I am appalled! While I understand the "liability" if she were to get her dress caught in a treadmill belt (that's probably one of the ONLY things I can think of), I am so sad at the state of our world. Thank you for being courageous and stopping it! You are a hero!
The nice thing about slips, full or half, is they keep skirts and dresses from benching up in front.
Yes yes yes! I agree completely! :) Thank you so much, Lynn! You're a blessing!
Thank you for this!! ❤
You’re so welcome, Liz!
I like the VEST just the way it is and don't think it needs to be altered at all : )
Thank you!!! That encouragement will save me a lot of time and energy 😊 God bless you!!
My teens or I receive compliments 90% of the time we go to town. I think it's just rare to see woman in dresses/skirts.
I am so so SO happy you said this! Yes, it's amazing how much people notice these things and will pay compliments because they can't help but admire. I think it means that our culture wants to see more of it! You and your teens are wonderful for setting this example!
