Hey! I wrote this song about gender inequality in the music industry - as a girl who grew up being passionate about music, I noticed that a lot of my favorite artists were objectified and abused for entertainment. My main inspiration for the title comes from being a girl. I love who I am. No, I don’t mean the way I dress, my background, or my hobbies. I love being in this body. I love being a girl in this messed-up world because I get to have the privilege of speaking up for those younger females in this generation. I'm ironically grateful that I get to face inequality and sexism and learn to fight that. The women's reclamation of space in the music industry has the power to expose a disincentivized world to the realities of our experience in a female body.
