Years ago, I sat behind Sir Nick on the back of the range as a young cart boy and watched as he hit balls for hours. He was an absolute surgeon with those blades. I watched as he hit a 5 iron, fading and drawing in one yard increments. One yard fade, one yard draw, two yard fade, two yard draw….he continued until he hit big slices and big hooks. He went to the bag and grabbed one club longer and did it all over again….from the wedge to the driver. He’s the closest thing I’ve ever seen to a machine and he talked to himself the entire time. Absolute genius. I’ll never, ever forget what I saw that day.
I learned two things that day. Sir Nick is gifted beyond imagination and at the time; the only thing that could stop Sir Nick…..is Sir Nick.

@Arthur Charles Harrison I guess the huge prestige of Shells Wondeful World of Golf didn't matter that much to him. considering how many times Sir Nick destroyed Greg in majors. He is in the Hall of Fame, and obviously Knighted for his services and efforts representing England in sport.

Faldo’s problem from ‘94 onwards was that he spent too much time on the range, and not enough time actually playing in tournaments.
As a result he lost the art of scoring.
Consequently the wins dried up he and began slipping down the world rankings.

@@wolfiemcwolf6617 "How many times did Faldo destroy Norman in majors"? A grand total of.... twice.
With Faldo breathing down his neck, Norman destroyed him at the '93 Open.
I'll certainly concede that Nick won more majors than Greg, but he was arguably handed at least three of them on a plate.
But some facts for you to consider:
Faldo: World no. 1 for 97 weeks. Norman: 331 weeks
Faldo: PGA Tour wins: 6. Norman: 18
Faldo: Worldwide wins: 41. Norman: 88
      Faldo: Major Top 10s: 26. Norman: 30
The roll of the dice was certainly kinder in the majors to Faldo. But Norman was the better golfer.

while Norman only won 20 times. Of course, Faldo won 5 majors to Norman's 2. But
Norman's wins were super impressive: 91 worldwide victories, 3 World Match Play
wins, a pair of Memorials (Jack's tnmt), a Players Championship, two World Series
of Golf, a World Championship of Golf, and was a member of the victorious

This really shows how equipment (balls and clubs) have gotten out of hand. The two best players in the world at that time (and Norman was a long hitter) both hit 7 irons pin high on a slightly uphill 3 par with a minimal side breeze. Today’s pros would be hitting 9 irons and wedges. Old, traditional courses are being made obsolete. Something needs to be done equipment wise to protect the integrity of the game. It has gotten out of hand IMO.

I love Greg but I hate the shark hats. It’s just a bit “up yourself”. I wouldn’t mind if Greg had won 5 or 6 majors but to act like a legend when you only won two…nah! That said, five guys won their only major over Greg - Mize, Pavin, Azinger, Calcavecchia and Tway, and three of them were in playoffs, so he was pretty stiff. Meanwhile, Faldo was a comparatively lucky winner at Augusta as all of his wins were assisted when other players blew it with bad shots or entire rounds - Scott Hoch misses a two foot putt, Floyd goes in the water, and Norman himself in 96. After all that though, people liked Greg and thought Faldo was an arse.

Well it did them no good Norman never won anymore than 2 majors Even portly Bobby Locke who never lifted anything heavier than a few pints of Beer won four British Opens Played super fit Sam Snead in 15 matches head to head and beat him 11 to 2 with two evens. Then went to the USA beat Snead, Hogan, Nelson and won 9 events until the USGA had him barred because he never appeared at a function. The facts were, he was taking the best golfers in the world money and they did not like it. Now he was being out driven by more than 50 yards nearly all the time.

Faldo was just as talented. He had a long flowing dynamic swing when he first came on tour. He drove it by everybody. He just chose to change his swing into something that looks like that of a man with less talent. Take a look at his instructional videos and you'll see serious talent.

I enjoy Shell's Wonderful World of Golf. I love the game. I've noticed over the years that fat people generally are not in the gallery. When the camera spans the crowd at an NFL game, at least half the audience is obese.
Now it is 2022. I am 57. I have never seen so many fat women in my life. They seem to be getting fatter and meaner.
Many men my age are still athletic, yet most of our wives turned into fat, mean pigs. Why is that?
Women from earlier eras were not as fat and mean. Men weren't pudgy fruitcakes. What the hell happened? I look at "Shell's Wonderful World of Golf" from the '60's and '70's. Nobody was obese in the gallery. I watch old football games from the same era....Nobody was an obese pig. I wonder why most women are fatter and meaner now.
Just for fun- tomorrow take a look at every woman you encounter- and ask yourself if she is overweight. I bet you will finish your day knowing that 80% of women are fat. Being fat makes them mean. I speak from experience.

While you are right about the West's growing obesity problem, I have to ask but two questions: 1) Why are you only focusing on women? There are plenty of obese men around as well. You sound very bitter towards women. Just because your wife/partner is a cunt doesnt mean everyone else's is as well. But more importantly, 2) what the fuck does this have to do with the golf on display in this video?
