man, i miss the old days. I miss the players, the announcers all of it. Both classy guys. Freddie has always been my favorite especially favorite money ball player.
Watching Fred and tom play golf close up on the other side of the world as some smooth upbeat jazzy music plays in the background had to be quite the surreal experience. .
It’s true Fred couple swing is just pure If I could swing like that, I’m pretty sure I would be a lot happier today with my golf, regardless of where I was playing
Watson really rips through doesn’t he? Lots of acceleration! And Fred of course looks like he’s swinging 75% but hits it miles. Two legends going at it. Thank goodness we got these swings on video
TV has changed a bit I'd say. Back in the day, you got 50 mins of show and 10 mins of commercials. Today, its 50 mins of commercials and 10 mins of show.
These Shell matches provided a nice little side income for Freddie. He made over a half million on these over the years. Just for playing a few casual rounds with the course to himself in the coolest places in the world. Not too shabby
It would have been great to see them play off if Tom Was in the same age range as Freddy here. I think Freddy is around 37/38 and Tom is almost 50, so while he could still hit it pretty solid, he was well past his best. I really don't know how Couples only ever won one major. He was a hell of a golfer, and still is. (Although watching back, he's VERY negative on himself after almost every shot, and I guess that could be a problem.)
Fred: “What’d you hit back there? 9?” Tom: “7.” Fred: “Well, it came out sweet!” Lol 😂 Fred trying to make Tom feel better after under clubbing him by 2.
it was his negative attitude that cost him another masters amongst other tournaments. In have followed him a few times - he may be laid back but gets very down on himself.

What a Christmas Present !!!! 2 of the greatest ever !! Thank you Sir.

Hole #3, Watson out of the deep rough, side hill lie, flies a 7 iron just over the water, rolls to back of green, an amazing shot, just wow!
Actually, the fourth hole
I remember playing with Lynx golf clubs all because of Fred Couples. What a glorious swing, silky smooth and never out of rhythm.
Great videos !👍🏻

Isn't it just fun to watch two classy players having fun?
Two of the best swings in the game. Ever. 🍀
Two of my golfing heroes.
Two of the very best.

I LOVE golf - but if i could not record the tournaments i would not watch it!
Tom is such a gentleman!!! And Fred is the man!!
Fred's divot on the Hole 1 sand wedge went further than most of my shots.

i see to king of golf playing golf game. i love it.
start from today Fred couples is my new coach.
It was sad to see Watsons putting stroke betray him later on in his career, he was an awesome putter in his earlier years.. and Fred is my favorite
Couples is a MASTER.

Watson was 48 and Couples was 38.
Yes-couples although appearing laid back was very negative, seen it up close a few times. Never had the short game/winning instinct others had either
Really , that music from the clubhouse? Discourteous .
Fred Could swing in his sleep. Tom is a Legend.

Ram or Linx? Which should I play?
Bubba Bozo I've been playing a set of Lynx Black Cats for about 20 years and I still like them.
Either one, or whatever feels right. Remember, it's the craftsman, not the tools.
Linx? No such club...
@@strokenumber3 it’s Lynx, David
❤
@13:42 impact boom
freddie's swing is just so smooooth...this is golf porn
Has Fred ever been beat on SWWG?
Yes he has by Ernie Els
Yes, Phil Mickelson as well
If it wasn’t for Toms putting I think he might have won.
Anybody can go and lose to Couples for a cool 25k. Would be nice to see a real match.
Couples complains about every shot. It's sickening.
would you rather he say "man I really hit that pure"

Two of the very best.
