I've commented before, but I've been rewatching a lot of your videos now that we have an RV, and my father saw this one on my phone... We are losing him to heart disease. He's gone from 250# to 175#. Very weak. But he got to watching this and for the first time in weeks he smiled and said I've been here, I've fished for halibut here! And I think he saw it all over like he was there. When Caleb was leaning over the rail, he was feeling it too. Thank you for making videos that I don't have to be embarrassed are on my phone when my dad picks it up! Thank you for helping him relive a good memory. It's making me cry to tell you, but thank you.
I’m so sorry your father is having a hard time. It is so hard when we are with our parents and see them going through such difficult times. To hear that he smiled and told you he had been there and to see him smile meant a lot to you . It is a blessing you’re there to help him. I know it means so much to him.
@@judithhayes4236 he passed away at Christmas. Thank you for your note, I was thinking about this video yesterday. He would have appreciated your kind words. Much love from all of us..
Oh my gosh I just love you guys. I was on vacation and could not wait to get back to watch your video. This one is my favorite so far! Congratulations to Carson. So darn cool! The footage is amazing. Because of you guys my husband and I are making plans to sell it all and go RV. I cannot wait! Thank You for all you do to inspire the world to live!
Oh, man! IMHO possibly the BEST ONE YET! I mean...seriously? Music, food, fun, friends, adventure, beauty, Carson wins BIG for his academic career fund (am I right?). This one was one for the books, y'all....:-)
Did y’all the the Hilstrand brothers? They are on deadliest catch. Crab fishermen. Congrats to Carson! What a fun video. Looked like an amazing adventure
Fantastic video, CONGRATULATIONS to Carson! I agree with so many post that your filming is excellent. You all have gotten so comfortable while filming. Homer looks awesome. Take care and be safe.
Wow! Great luck with that fishing tournament! Another awesome video of your best memories. Again, thank you so much for sharing these special moments with us. We look forward to your next adventure in Alaska. - The Chalifoux’s
OMG, tears of joy and laughter came to me as I watched Carson get $1,000 fish. Wow! Big Congrats, Carson! What a fun day. How beautiful Homer is. The Salty Dog is amazing.
I'm still playing catch up on your videos... Homer has always been one of my favorite places in Alaska, great people and yes I knew you would love the clam chowder. Halibut is my favorite fish cut in 1" cubes, beer batter and deep fried is "poor man's lobster". Never freeze it with the skin or that layer of fat just under the skin or it will have a fishy taste. My family moved to Alaska in 1968 and we had land just across from Homer in Bear Cove. I am just beginning my journey as a full-time RV'er at the age of 55 and an amputee and I really appreciate it when you mention places that are wheelchair accessible.. I have a toy hauler for my gas operated Yamaha 4 wheeler chair and if there are places I can ride along your journey I would like to know. Be safe and stop at some of those places Trish just blows by.. I made it a point with my boys to never pass by water a boy can throw a stick or a rock into.
We love your videos and have lived vicariously on this summer journey to Alaska. Glad Carson is back. I wanted to recommend a book for him, written by a commercial pilot. It's called "Skyfaring: A Journey with a Pilot" by Mark Vanhoenacker. It talks about his love of flying from a young age, but he also covers some of the biggest challenges, like navigation, and how our modern airliners and pilots have met these obstacles with new technological advances that make flying today so enjoyable. I think Carson might enjoy it, now that he's back from camp. He's got great parents, by the way. Looking forward to tonight's episode too.
Watching since season 1. This may be my favor episode yet! You guys just continue to deliver informative, fun and 1 1/2 tons of smiles! Can’t wait for each Sunday to download. Be safe
Oh good grief...your comment about the 93 year old gentleman, I was crying laughing. That’s our “neighbor”, we came home last week and Ms. Laura (our 87 year old neighbor) is up in her roof, cleaning out her gutters😂Terrifying and loving it, all at once 😄
Thank you I loved this video it was part of my morning routine while my daughter was sleeping. You were so thorough I could go to this town and feel quite comfortable thank you for sharing 💛
Visited Homer a couple of times during the 1990’s while touring Alaska. Definitely one of my all time favorite places. Thank you for sharing your experiences there. Brought back many great memories.
I have never heard it out that as a gel coat inspection. Each time you said it I had to stop the video I was ROTFLMAO. Keep up the great videos. Great job!
Yes!! My favorite place in Alaska! The views from the homes up top are amazing! Fresh halibut/salmon/berries, will always bring us back in the summer, once we move!
Sorry to see you had a bout of sea sickness Marc. That can make for a long fishing trip. Congratulations Carson on the nice fish and the big win! Thank you for taking us along with you.
You guys are a blessing to some of us to open our minds. And your children will grow up with the importance of seeing how lucky you guys are to travel. Some of us just dont get it and work and waste our lives unhappy because we can't take the time to Invest in whats important Family. Cheers Pacific Northwest.
Congratulations Carson! What a wonderful experience for him and the family. Homer seems like a beautiful town to visit. Thanks for taking us along with you your family and your friends. As always your videos are exceptional. Keep it up! Wish they were longer. LOL Happy and Safe Travels! 😊
Congrats Carson on your halibut catch!!! Trish, I think you should have the guy's make you dinner with the new searing pan. Enjoy Homer, and try not to get into too much trouble. Hugs, Sandy and Jay Livesay
Wow, way to go Carson!!!! The fishing looked like lots of fun, but I would have been checking out the side of the boat as well. lol I loved this video, such a cool town it looked like. I love the place with the $ bills. I can't believe no one tries to steal the money! Very cool place indeed. Thanks for taking us along. Hugs, Brenda
Well, I've been watching you for a couple years now and we are ready to take off on our own RV adventure. It was because of you that we decided we wanted to have fun RVing like your family does. We leave next week for about 7 weeks traveling west from Indiana to Laramie, where we went to college, down to Denver, to St George, UT to Las Vegas, Joshua Tree, and then on to Phoenix and then we will start traveling up Route 66 to return home. No reservations anywhere, we will tool along, staying at each stop as long as we want to and then moving on at about 200 a day WHEN we travel. This has been over a year in the planning and I can't wait to get started. Thanks for inspiring us to do this. Have used Allstays and Google Map to get a tentative agenda. It never would have occurred to us to start RVing if it hadn't been for you guys. Keep traveling and inspiring. Maybe next summer we will go to Alaska too. Thanks so much! Love your videos.
This was probably my favorite episode yet! It was just so joyous and energetic! You are so right that Homer just has a special energy! It was my favorite stop as well, on my Alaskan adventure last year. :)
GREAT episode you two. I’ve watched most of your stuff, but this one was extra fun. Yes Homer is a cool fun place, but your Two personalities are what make your vid’s so watchable. John personality IS engaging but Trish is so warm fun fuzzy and sweet it complements. Are you guys professional actors? Cummon the truth you two.
Your videography is getting really good. The intro music and video editing was exceptional. Of course the family moments give it heart. I'm about to set off with a suitcase and backpack in October so I've been following many Vlogers from all over the world. You guyd are on top, great job
Understand about the gel coat, have done many an inspection. So happy for your sons catch. Just started subscribing to you several weeks ago, you do a really great vlog, thanks.
Amazing the characters you find along your way! Congratulations to the awesome fisherman, your right that's a story he'll be telling his grandkids. Homer seems to be the place that's happening. Can't wait to get by there. Another super show folks, please keep em coming. OLT
Way to go, Carson !!! Congratulations! Little trick on SS cookware. Never put any meat on a cold pan. It will stick. Also, a little cooking spray will soon become one of your best friends especially on the sides. You will soon have a shelf or shelves dedicated to your SS cookware. You may want to look at a SS wok. It’s quickly become one of my favorites for all manner of cooking. (Just get the SS lid as well) Safe travels. Tennessee Pal
Ssss'cool to win part of the Homer Derby - woo hoo .... Fish & snowmachin is what we miss the most .... Homer is so gorgeous - happy you made it all the way down... GREAT views & video! XO, Kelly
Ahh...the good old fishing days:) The water is just like it used to be here in the Atlantic 10 miles off shore....CLEAN...nice to see it like that again. Water was relatively calm too. Nice scenery.
Great Job Carson! I loved this video! Your absolutely right about making memories! 1992’ went out on a boat just like that out of Homer. It was so Foggy the whole way and the water was like glass. Captain said it was really unusual. Later it got choppy, but I didn’t have to check the Jell Coat. LOL! My Husband and son did! I caught the first one at 125#! We took home between the 3 of us almost 300 #. I gave away about 60 that wouldn’t fit in my freezer up home in Nikisiki. Traded it for a sweet Snow Board for my boy. Great times!
Congratulations Carson! You called it! Another great video. It keeps getting better and better Marc! You vids are top notch! By the way, The Motorhome Experiment is awesome!
We camped on the spit while in Homer this summer. Great place to stay and lots to see. Walking the tidal flats was one of the things I enjoyed and so did our pups. We are back home and just winterized the trailer 😢. We left Dawson Creek for Alaska on June 16th and returned home Aug 21st. We kept an eye out for you and LJMJ but our timing must have been off. Hope to meet you folks sometime. Safe travels and keep the videos coming. We enjoy watching them.
Well done Carson. So excited for you. So Marc, how long did it take to get your land legs back? Happy cooking Tricia. I still wish for longer videos. They go too fast because you do such a fab job. 👍🏻😀
Enjoy watching your families adventures. You guys do an awesome job. Congratulations Carson on your catch hope you guys tipped the deckhand. Enjoy your adventures we have been bing watching your episodes.

Another great video! Congratulations Carson - what a catch! I felt for you Mark. We lived on our sailboat for two years and my seasickness never went away. Makes for a rough trip. Glad you kept your great attitude though.
Towards the end of this episode on your way back into the harbor my old fishing boat cruised past! We shipped it from the PNW to Homer when we sold it!!!! So awesome.
Wish I could come up with more adjectives and metaphors to describe how great you folks are!! Thank You for sharing your experiences with all of us!! God Bless!!!
