Oh, my GOSH, Sonny Eclipse was my frickin CHILDHOOD. My family and I always went there for lunch when we went to Disney and I would just stare at the animatronic almost the entire duration of lunch lol
That cat surely was big fan of carousel of progress. Also that is amazing that you managed to catch the projector input blacking out. That audio animatronics control computer surely needs some maintenance
Remember when Disney used to actually care about maintenance? It’s been quite a while, but you’d almost never see broken animations before Iger came in.
Shuddering animatronics aren't always due to the animation software looping the same frame over and over. Sometimes a regulator can blow and a series of voltage pulses are sent to the motors instead of a smooth current. If the animatronic is otherwise moving properly despite the shakes, that's probably what happened.
Also, here’s something I have to say: Anyone who comes across a malfunction at Disney, don’t just film it, but please inform the closest cast member. It will be a big help for those who want to preserve the magic!
IMO, the only reason the dwarves are known for being a better implementation of the projected-face technology is because they have beards. The real-world hair masks the hard line between the animated faces and the physical bodies. Conclusion: Anna & Elsa need beards...
Disney actually keeps cats around the park, afair. So chances are the little fella is a Disney cat. No worries, all cats are spayed/neutered, and are up to date on shots. Kind of surprising more of them haven't gotten out lol. The cat is most likely doing fantastic though and is getting a good grub of vermin when they can catch them.
@@2doot he probably got hot and slipped in to cool of and got stuck. Either that, or he was trying to escape a park goer who was harassing him as not every park goer knows about the cats and/or knows to leave them alone

omg when i was 5, i actually witnessed a malfunction on the finding nemo ride at disney world. the ride broke down, so over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again we had to listen to “where’s nemo?” omfg lmao
Personally, I think projected faces, or ‘tv screen’ faces are really cool on animatronics, especially if it’s a major animatronic, because creating an actual moving face is way harder then just sculpting the face and having it as a pre animated screen. This is my personal opinion as someone who likes animatronics, it can work either way (Ignore my fnaf profile, I love Real animatronics more than I do fictional ones.)
These malfunctions are interesting, but it's kinda messed up that most of these are repeats while Disney prices continue to skyrocket. They should be able to afford regular maintenance to where this doesn't happen so often. I think it cheapens the experience but the price keeps going up and up.
I remember when I was at Disney world a couple years ago, we went on the pirates of Caribbean ride and it stopped right in the middle of some animatronics, and we had to sit there for at least 2 hours while the animatronics kept repeating themselves FOR 2 HOURS, to make matters worse my dad was sick (not terrible but still), but we did get a free fast pass

Disney needs to take better care of their animatronics. They seem to be breaking and looking in terrible condition a lot more in recent years. If they don’t do anything anytime soon all the park rides will end up looking like the last few months of splash mountain (RIP) I blame Chapek
I just want to Disney World for Christmas. All I see is most animatronics falling apart and roller coasters not fast enough. Probably the workers are too lazy to check before letting people in. They're going to lose their company if they don't fix it right.
Around 2008-2009 the donkey on Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland had some issues. Sometimes the barn door would be open and he’d be there. Then other times the barn door would be closed and you could just here him bray.
I remember riding on a ride (I don't remember if it was Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad) one time when it broke down.
