I find it so funny that Disney guests actually WANT a ride breakdown. I understand why (and I am one of them), but it's just so funny that any normal person at any other theme park would be really mad about it, but at Disney, we're super happy about it!
I was so pissed, I was in the graveyard for the Haunted Mansion and it broke. We were sitting there for ages, and I was sure we would get an in show exit. Nope. We just sat in the graveyard forever.
i'd be mad defenitely.. but in my case it always happens at the worst moments.. now i've never actually been to disney but we have our own fantasy theme park here (de efteling) and i've had it once in the flying dutchman (a dark ride/roller coaster.. it has elements of both worked into it) there is a spot in that one where you are on the water and this large ship is next to you and there are like creaking sound effects of the ropes and such.. basically it got stuck there but since it's a ride near water all you can do is wait till they fix the issue.. (i do believe that if they can't fix it they'll send seperate little boats over to get the people out especially in the outside area wich is just a little lake with a roller coaster track in it.) and i also had it once in the clown ride wich is really sucky because after waiting a bit you hear that oh the ride is broken and you just gotta walk all the way to the exit.. luckily that one isn't too bad as there is plenty of space to walk along the sides.. oh i also once had it in the fairy dark ride.. but since that one is on a hanging rail they can't do an easy exit.. it's basically a big spiral down but it just stopped in the middle of the spiral so you're just hanging there.. at least that ride smells amazing though
@@PrincessX-ke8tj Oof, I get that. we stopped in the Haunted Mansion, just in front of the Ballroom in Disneyland and I was sooooooo Hopeful that we'd get an in-show exit, but we started moving again after a while. LoL So funny that I was more disappointed that the ride started moving than I would've been with an in-show exit
@@PrincessX-ke8tj I got stuck in that one too (at Disney World) but it was near the beginning where the spiderwebs are located. I must have sat there 10-15 mins waiting while the stupid announcement kept saying to stay in your "DOOM ... buggies" over and over. Really silly XD
My mom would HATE that Tower of Terror breakdown. She’s not one for big drops anyway, but going through it when she knows that something isn’t working right would be horrifying!
I got stuck on the guardians of the galaxy ride and my car got stuck halfway in the air and then out of no where they said they were gonna come get us and then they nothing was said until we were dropped and the ride resumed back as normal🤣 I almost crapped my pants and cried
@@Elexensor17 it was and the worst part. I believe there's 2 floors cuz sometimes they send you like up the stairs. I was all the way at the top too🤣. My friend who went with me said she'll never ride again cuz of what happened
@@helenavargas4468 Yeah, they have two load levels for that one, they did it that way to save space but also up capacity. Paris's tower is the same way... basically it allows them to board a ride vehicle while the other one is in the drop shaft. I think there's a video on UA-cam somewhere about it... But Tower of Terror or Guardians of the Galaxy, that sounds like a singularly terrifying ride experience, and I'm the person who about half way through Space Mountain was basically screaming 'get me off this ride'... I don't know why I go on roller coasters or drop rides at all
Yeah, that is what the performers are supposed to do, it must suck. Imagine the float broke down for an hour, you are required to keep preforming for that entire time.
Happy tears, probably. Laughing because there's nothing lit up, sounding or moving on the ride that has another 10 minutes and several of us are using phone lights, definitely.
I'm disabled and use a wheelchair to get around. I have a feeling I'd be sitting in a ride vehicle for quite awhile if I was involved in any of these breakdowns. I actually caused Alice In Wonderland and Peter Pan to break down due to my slowness getting onto the rides. I'm a 58 year old man and the looks I got from the guests as the castmembers had to empty the queues actually made me cry.
On my husband’s very first trip to WDW we got stuck on Pirates for a good 30min. Music ran for a good 15 of those minutes. “Pirates life for me” hits a little bit different now. However, the more entertaining thing was someone recording in our row. He repeatedly, and I mean over and over again, said “oh what a sweet treat.” That phrase is now an inside joke for us. Cast members had to wade through the water and pull each boat to the dock to unload. We left the ride with ice cream sandwiches, water, and fast passes.
I had a similar experience! Stuck on Pirates for about 30 minutes, listening to that same music loop. The ride eventually started up on its own again though, so no cast members showed up. It was near the end of the ride where all the buildings are on fire.
Fun story: my cousin caught a guys hat on Rockin Rollercoaster on the first loop that was in the front row. He gave it back after the ride and it was a funny experience
Funny, the same thing happened with my dad and his mother-in-law on splash mountain. He caught it on the last hill and there's even a picture of the hat midair and he got his arm out to catch itm
That happened to my mum but at the PNE/Playland in Vancouver BC. But she was the one who lost her hat. The guy behind her on the wooden coaster caught it.
My brother did that on the drop on Jurassic Park River Adventure, some kid's hat at the front of the boat flew off and he instinctively put his arm up and grabbed it which was super cool.
You know what’s really interesting about Tower of Terror? There’s a “chicken exit” for if you chicken out before you get on the ride. Basically as a kid we had a rider swap option so one parent could watch my baby sister and then trade places immediately after the first ride and I’d get to ride twice. But after the first ride, I was all dizzy and nauseous so I chickened out of the second ride, my other parent rode while I took the chicken exit. You’ll never guess what the chicken exit on Tower of Terror is. It’s a literal maintenance service elevator.
I went to Disneyworld when I was really young and got scared of the pre show on tower of terror (where the people disappear in the elevator) and we found it really funny that the way to get out is an elevator 😂
The system is rock solid, the cast member does not inspire confidence in the slightest. And like, Tower of Terror elevators are like the most over engineered elevators in the world. You're literally riding the safest elevator ever (fun fact, you're not actually being dropped, you're being pulled. There are cables on the bottom of the car that pull you faster than freefall, hence why at one point for a split second you're weightless) and the 'uh um' is literally the most terrifying thing to hear in regards to this ride.
It makes me nervous because of lack of distancing once you're out of the cars, obvs you have to have the cast members near you, but hey, I get wanting to try and escape hell while having to accommodate for it while in a long-term pandemic.... But really, why not just wait until it's over to go?? We demand schools be closed but parks be open??? Just watch YT videos, there's hundreds of them, do a virtual park. Isn't there a GAME about Disneyland/world for Xbox/PS/Wii?

I always love it when the announcer uses terms that fit into the ride, it gives a much more dedicated feel to the workers and keeps the ride in character.
The cast members are so sweet when there is a malfunction, I love how they are so caring, we had a breakdown in Peter Pan ride , we had a walkthrough and the cast members made some Disney jokes and had us laughing a lot, they apologized repeatedly, (we weren’t upset at all) they gave us a full day fast pass.
I can really have a zip-a-dee-do-da day, because I have a record of the original mickey mouse club singing that song that was made as a promo to song of the south. Now that's what I call a collectors item.
They can’t :( the track is ruined from that weird fast ride they had for a bit. Maybe if they did a whole over of Tomorrowland again. But as of right now, doubtful since it’s even in the infrastructure.
I don’t have footage of this, but thought I’d share regardless! A couple years ago, I went to Disney Land with my mom and grandmother. It was nearly closing time, so we had to pick a few last things to do before we left. My grandmother suggested the Indiana Jones ride, which I had never ridden before. While we were waiting in line, I was jokingly stepping on every single trap and spot that was literally labeled “do not step here” because I thought it was funny. The ride had been having malfunctions recently, which was confirmed by a cast member’s teasing announcement that a snake had gotten loose in the temple and we might be experiencing some interruptions. I was confused, but didn’t think much of it. The ride took quite a while to start once we got into the ride cars, but when it did, everything was functioning as usual. I think it did stop for a few seconds here and there, but nothing too world shattering. This all changed towards the climax of the ride. In the room with the rats and stuff (I think, I haven’t been on the ride since this incident), the vehicle came to a violent halt. The music stopped, and we were stuck in a pitch black room. All we could hear was the gentle creaking of the ride car, and the deafening squeal of rat noises. The car itself was swaying side to side, and I was absolutely terrified, under the impression that we were sinking. This went on for about 10 minutes, creaking, squealing, and swaying, and, as a small child, I was scared out of my mind. For some reason, I think I started telling people to hold on to their hats and phones (there were people recording) because the ride might start up again. I believe there was one quick announcement about a problem of sorts, might have just been another snake joke though. There was no in-show exit, no cast members to “save” us, and things weren’t looking good. At this point, the ride finally booted back up again and business was as usual, but I was too traumatized at that point to enjoy the ride. I thought that it was my fault for stepping on everything I wasn’t supposed to. I literally thought I cursed the ride. Once we finally got off, my mother and grandma both vowed never to go on that ride again, being equally as terrified as I was. If anyone knows of any footage from this event, please let me know! I’d actually be really curious to see if anyone else has posted this anywhere. (Also, great video as always, TPMvids! Love your channel :D)
I've had an in-show exit on this one! Stuck just before the falling boulder. All the cast members had to pass by, quoting that they had to save the people on the bridge first.
I literally love TPM videos. You're different from any other countdown channel, you give humor, background knowledge, fun facts, and amazing audio and editing. You certainly make the Disney community a better place!
I almost experienced a haunted house breakdown. I watched the ballroom scene probably 10 minutes or so before it started moving again. A short stop is nothing uncommon on this particular ride, but that was a fun experience and I would have loved to be evacuated. Love to watch the breakdown vids :)
About 7 years ago, I almost got the same Tower of Terror experience. Except ours was much more... unusual. Me and my dad got stuck at the part where the green parting effect moves, and then... complete darkness for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes had passed, lights came on. We waited about 10-20 minutes before they announced the drop sequence. Here's the cool part... back in 2014, they had that Frozen fireworks show, and my mom and sister were watching it. We managed to get more than the usual amount of drops, like they tripled the drop sequence. All while the lights in the shaft remained on, effects and all. But the best part was seeing those fireworks as we went up and down. They of course gave us a second ride, but I'll never forget the quick backstage tour. All in all that night some funny guests were in our group so we were pretty entertained when we were stuck.
Man, it's always so cool seeing rides broken down at Disney World and Disneyland and seeing the behind the scenes work on some of the rides. It's so cool to see some of the rides with the lights and effects off, and being able to see some of the animatronics up close too!
I got to say I was apart of the rock n roller coaster breakdown. I was with my father on the ride. My father was the one who said "yea we're good" and I said "oh look there's like stairs and stuff". The ride broke down estimated 3-4 years ago, and after the breakdown, my entire family was given Slinky Dog fast passes. We were stuck there for an estimation of 3-4 hours too. Unfortunately, that was the first and last time I ever was able to ride it, since my families tickets ran out. The slinky dog fast passes were pretty cool though.
when I rode on Disney rides I never got the chance after the ride broke down to get a quick tour of the ride as I exit out of the ride. it must be totally awesome walking out and all the special effects are off.
10:13 You mean to tell me that Elsa and Anna were just acting and interacting there for a solid 12 minutes or so? DAYUMMMMM props to the actresses for pushing through for that long!
I am literally obsessed with these videos since I have never been to Disney I like to know everything so I can tell my family all the amazing facts from you! 😁
TPM: “how would you like to end the video with lights on Tower of Terror footage?” Me: “YESSSSS!” I’ve never been stuck on a ride for more than a minute or two, but I’d love to see a behind the scenes tour in person one day!
I can definitely say it does stink when rides break down. Especially when you are a cast member. I worked at SFGA for two years. I never got stuck on an attraction at Disney World. It does look cool going through the walking tours. Disney World will always be my favorite place to go for vacation! Thank you for always making videos about Disney World, especially during Quarantine! It gives me positive vibes when watching videos about my favorite place on Earth. Keep up the good work!
Two memorable (traumatizing) times I was stuck on rides: -When I was seven, we went on Carousel of Progress. It got stuck on the last room. We had to watch it seven times before they let us out. -We got stuck on the Great Movie Ride for twenty minutes. We were at the exit of the Tarzan room, so we had to put up with “AaAaAaAaH!” every 30 seconds.
@@TPMvids Yeah! I got to walk through roughly half of the interior before going backstage! The most interesting part was finding out that the truck that “almost” hits you actually has a very detailed driver in it!
Yes thank you for featuring my video!!! I totally said Mr. Toad twice in the original video instead of Mr. Mole, so thanks for the correction!!!! A dream come true!!!!
14:30 One time on Big thunder Mountain railroad in Disneyland I lost my black cap with the golden Mickey Mouse ear celebrating Disneyland's 50th anniversary. it flew right off my head as we were going over the hill and boy was I upset when I came out the exit. I never got it back. They weren't kidding when they said "if you have any hats or glasses best remove them. 'Cause this here's THE WILDEST RIDE IN THE WILDERNESS!"
First time ever on the haunted mansion. I was maybe 15-16, and right at the start down the long hallway we got stuck. A few cast members ran back and forth, but eventually, the ride started up again. I'm grateful; I'm sure if we got the full experience I might not have wanted to go back.
As a cast member at MK and absolutely love Disney; I adore your videos. Plus, having to do an in show exit for both Small World and Peter Pan’s Flight makes you feel special not just for the guest but us cast member.
I wish I knew this channel existed two years ago! I had gotten stuck on the Men In Black ride at Universal, we were about 20 seconds in before we stopped and not even a minute later the work lights came on. I was able to have an in-show exit and it was amazing to see all of the animatronics up close and in the light. I love watching your content, it’s interesting to see the magic behind it all!!
At 12:32, it is likely occurring what is known as an audio balance malfunction (a situation where the other tracks were so soft under the overly loud sneezy track where you couldn't here them). I've heard of these kind of situations before (and I've become strangely familiar with this sort of matter with multi track audio set ups).
Broke down on _Carousel of Progress_ when we visited in 2003. The rotating seats moved a tiny bit, then stopped, and the same sequence restarted. A ride employee announced 3 times that the ride would be "starting soon" and to remain seated, and it did rotate properly the next time. Pretty amusing. I also got stuck waiting on _Splash Mountain_ and _Haunted Mansion_ (but I never got an evac, they just restarted the rides).
Never been on tower of terror but I watched a video of how it worked internally and what its like to ride it fully functioning. It would have been great to see the whole ride or the drop with the lights on.
My brother and I were once on Expedition Everest, and when we got to the top where you go backward... We just didn’t. We sat there for what must have been half an hour, and we were freaking out because we were in the first row, looking down on everything. Eventually, they did the in-ride exit, and going down all the way from the top of the mountain was incredible!

“I was gonna end up here sooner or later” they are a mood
these malfunctions and breakdowns are always so fun to watch
Being a Disneyland person I *BEG* to Disney that they bring the People mover back to Walts park.
Same, The one at disney world broke recently
They can’t :( the track is ruined from that weird fast ride they had for a bit. Maybe if they did a whole over of Tomorrowland again. But as of right now, doubtful since it’s even in the infrastructure.
I just read they’re testing it! Maybe it will be back for my late February trip!
@@Zuru422 no it didn’t, it’s just down for refurb, should be up again next week.
@@CharmanteEclectic No I’m saying I’m a Disneyland local and want to people mover at walts original park.
@@brynnstephens6404 Niiice! I can only imagine how neat an in-show exit on that ride would be
I HAVE THE FOOTAGE

I literally love TPM videos. You're different from any other countdown channel, you give humor, background knowledge, fun facts, and amazing audio and editing. You certainly make the Disney community a better place!
I almost experienced a haunted house breakdown. I watched the ballroom scene probably 10 minutes or so before it started moving again. A short stop is nothing uncommon on this particular ride, but that was a fun experience and I would have loved to be evacuated.
Love to watch the breakdown vids :)
Same thing, but in a different part of the ride
This is truly the highlight of my week
Hey TPM! I have been waiting for another Malfunction video, and I was very happy to see this pop up on my phone. Keep up the amazing work!
3:46 i like how she found an easter egg during the in-show exit :)
“Hopefully 2021 is the year we will see the people mover again!”
Me: Laughs in 2021
ur voice is so pure and so refreshing
unlike other Disney guys :)
It's not its sounds like a funkin/rat with a fly mix up
Jk I'm joking
Omg yes!! This is just what I needed. I absolutely love your voice! ❤️
You’re one of the only youtubers who genuinely entertains me and makes my day. Thanks for the new video my dude!
It's so interesting to see the decades-old machines and rides starting to break down consistently
yay! you know it’s gonna be a perfect day when tpm uploads! ❤️

Why did you repeat the clip of “dinosaur”cast members like 6 times??
I was so confused by this, too!

yea same is confused but i know cast sang hi guys 🤣
Ya lol
It’s always a good day when TPM vids posts a video👑👑
6:00 hidden Mickey in the middle clam!
Man, it's always so cool seeing rides broken down at Disney World and Disneyland and seeing the behind the scenes work on some of the rides. It's so cool to see some of the rides with the lights and effects off, and being able to see some of the animatronics up close too!
I have anxiety and when ever I feel really anxious or after an anxiety attack, I watch your videos because your voice calms me 😁
Cool it's nice to see another list of theme park breakdowns. Allows us to see the inner workings sometimes
These are my fave kinda videos. Thanks TPM❤️
Same
they had to say “hi guys” so many times lmfao
I got to say I was apart of the rock n roller coaster breakdown. I was with my father on the ride. My father was the one who said "yea we're good" and I said "oh look there's like stairs and stuff". The ride broke down estimated 3-4 years ago, and after the breakdown, my entire family was given Slinky Dog fast passes. We were stuck there for an estimation of 3-4 hours too. Unfortunately, that was the first and last time I ever was able to ride it, since my families tickets ran out. The slinky dog fast passes were pretty cool though.
I’m so glad you still keep me in the Disney spirt, even during covid! Keep up the good work!
when I rode on Disney rides I never got the chance after the ride broke down to get a quick tour of the ride as I exit out of the ride. it must be totally awesome walking out and all the special effects are off.
Yay I love these videos! I'm going to the parks in feburary so this gets me prepared!
Same and have fun
07:46 lmao that cast member is clearly not very social
guest: "is it our car?"
CM: "yeah"
guest: "What happened?"
CM: "uhhh, sensors"
10:13 You mean to tell me that Elsa and Anna were just acting and interacting there for a solid 12 minutes or so? DAYUMMMMM props to the actresses for pushing through for that long!
I am literally obsessed with these videos since I have never been to Disney I like to know everything so I can tell my family all the amazing facts from you! 😁
TPM videos always make me so happy! Just like how Disney makes me happy 😊
TPM: “how would you like to end the video with lights on Tower of Terror footage?”
Me: “YESSSSS!”
I’ve never been stuck on a ride for more than a minute or two, but I’d love to see a behind the scenes tour in person one day!
Same but I was stuck for like 5 mins lol
I can definitely say it does stink when rides break down. Especially when you are a cast member. I worked at SFGA for two years. I never got stuck on an attraction at Disney World. It does look cool going through the walking tours. Disney World will always be my favorite place to go for vacation! Thank you for always making videos about Disney World, especially during Quarantine! It gives me positive vibes when watching videos about my favorite place on Earth. Keep up the good work!
Two memorable (traumatizing) times I was stuck on rides:
-When I was seven, we went on Carousel of Progress. It got stuck on the last room. We had to watch it seven times before they let us out.
-We got stuck on the Great Movie Ride for twenty minutes. We were at the exit of the Tarzan room, so we had to put up with “AaAaAaAaH!” every 30 seconds.
I broke down on the exact same spot in Test Track last March! It’s so cool getting to see Test Track with the lights on!
Did you get an in-show exit?
@@TPMvids Yeah! I got to walk through roughly half of the interior before going backstage! The most interesting part was finding out that the truck that “almost” hits you actually has a very detailed driver in it!
Cool
I absolutely love your videos! I love going to the parks and looking at hidden secrets, and i love learning about all the history!!
Yes thank you for featuring my video!!! I totally said Mr. Toad twice in the original video instead of Mr. Mole, so thanks for the correction!!!! A dream come true!!!!
Thank YOU for the submission and sharing your breakdown experience! :D
I'm a little less scared of being in a broken ride now, those in-show exits seem cool asf!
1:18 It didn't used to be that bare though. Man I miss the OG Test track
11:43 This has actually happened to me as well. We were escorted off near the entrance to Stitch.
Hey TPM vids! I’ve been a subscriber for a while now. Just wanted to say that you have gotten me through some tough day. Thank you!
Petition for tpm to make a full music video of 8:10 😂!
I love your vids and every time I watch your channel I feel like I am back in Disney
5:45 something like that happened to me but at the end in the picnick all stopted for 30 minutes

One time on Big thunder Mountain railroad in Disneyland I lost my black cap with the golden Mickey Mouse ear celebrating Disneyland's 50th anniversary. it flew right off my head as we were going over the hill and boy was I upset when I came out the exit. I never got it back. They weren't kidding when they said "if you have any hats or glasses best remove them. 'Cause this here's THE WILDEST RIDE IN THE WILDERNESS!"
5:04 ORLANDO ORLANDO, I LOVE YOU ORLANDO

8:24 hey, this clip repeats a lot, is this intentional? If not I just wanted to tell you lol
I'm pretty sure that he made a remix of that part so that is why it repeated
11:35 that lady is a rap god. She has the flow.

WHO IS READY FOR WISHING YOU WERE IN DISNEY?!
Praying we go in August/September
I so wish i could go to Disney, and i wish that i could experience a breakdown i so wish!
I went last year around this time and I miss it so much right now.
I just got back from Disney world
Can’t wait to go back!!!! 😆
I have no clue why but this channel gives me the most joy in the world
11:23 The guy talking to a red cone riding in the back car made me laugh even with my sad loneliness funk
First time ever on the haunted mansion. I was maybe 15-16, and right at the start down the long hallway we got stuck. A few cast members ran back and forth, but eventually, the ride started up again. I'm grateful; I'm sure if we got the full experience I might not have wanted to go back.
8:11 that part made me laugh because of the remix btw love your vids❤️❤️❤️
As a cast member at MK and absolutely love Disney; I adore your videos. Plus, having to do an in show exit for both Small World and Peter Pan’s Flight makes you feel special not just for the guest but us cast member.
Honestly,, I'd love to work for those rides for some reason..
its felt like forever since one of these videos have been posted, or just about any of your videos. Im glad you still post these days.

12:26 I think dopey’s eyes are gone too-
Omg your right they are missing
I wish I knew this channel existed two years ago! I had gotten stuck on the Men In Black ride at Universal, we were about 20 seconds in before we stopped and not even a minute later the work lights came on. I was able to have an in-show exit and it was amazing to see all of the animatronics up close and in the light. I love watching your content, it’s interesting to see the magic behind it all!!
This is so awesome 🤩.
By the way, good point about the hats!
I would live to see this guys face! Maybe he should take some more selfies! 😂
Omg right?!
he pretty

Yep that happends to me ;-;
Broke down on _Carousel of Progress_ when we visited in 2003.
One time I watched your videos non stop, and I still love this channel
I’m wearing my tpm mask while watching this
Never been on tower of terror but I watched a video of how it worked internally and what its like to ride it fully functioning. It would have been great to see the whole ride or the drop with the lights on.
Oh god if I was stuck on the last one I think I would’ve been scared to death lmao
Some people get lucky to get a backstage tour when a ride breaks down or malfunctions.
