Hi Stephen I flew at the kelpies a few weeks ago no one came and asked 🙂keep up the great work you do
Thanks Colin.
Just a point of technicality - anyone is 'allowed' to ask to see your Operator/flyer ID, but the only ones that have the right to and can enforce that right, is those you have said.
Very true. Thank you.
Curious but how do the Police in Finland have anything to do with the FAA here in the US?
I didn’t say they had anything to do with the FAA in the U.S. Why would you think they would have? You think the world revolves around the U.S?
This is aviation law. The Finnish police are the highest educated police force in the world. They need to be knowledgeable about drones, as the Finnish police have the highest drone use in any police force in the world.
Substantially the same situation here in the U.S. It is also a U.S. federal offense to interfere with a pilot operating an aircraft.
Had a few drones 250 gsm - I just got feed up with having to justify myself Always flyinh well above people and place - causing now problems But just can not stand the agro
Was a Semi Professional Aviaton Photographer but not fit enough to go to airshoes anymore and of course they are few and far
So flying a drone seemed the answer
You should never have to justify yourself. Does a white van driver have to justify him or herself?
I've had random people ask me for my license..... I politely declined. I've never see such a sign in Ireland .....yet.
Good work mate and top class info
Cheers Johnny.
Nice work brother
Thanks
Very informative the same applies here in the States.
Thank you sir.
Great information Stephen, thanks for sharing. No one has ever asked to my US Part 107 card.
Thank you Ron. I hope the U.S isn’t going this way.
Great information, Stephen. Can I just add that I've flown the Kelpies and Falkirk wheel 4 times. The only time they ask for id if the drone is over 249g. You can fly minis no problem or questions. Hope this helps
Thanks good to know. So to them, size matters? 😊
@FlybyGuys Yes, Stephen, they are really fair with flyers at Helix Park. If the drone is over 249g, they just ask if you have a flyer I'd. If under 249g, then no questions asked
@@eyeintheskydrone4k But they have no right to ask to see your ID.
@@FlybyGuys must admit I have no problem showing if asked. If it allows a flight without restrictions
@@eyeintheskydrone4k Yeah, and that’s fine. However, power hungry people should not abuse the system.
2 police officers confirmed to me that only officials have the right to demand ID. It’s also under aviation law.
Just stay away from DJI… awesome drone! But often hacked flight logs are very common…
Why are you talking about a drone "licence"? No such thing in the U.K.
Yes, you think the general public know that? It’s a generic term they use.
You don’t get out much do you? 🙅♂️
Always use correct terminology.
@@FlybyGuys
@@FlybyGuys I get out more than you. I've been on every continent and I'm up to 127 countries. Every state in the USA, every county in the UK, every fell in the Lake District.etc etc
@@zigzagsoxmodest too and not lame at all…
@zigzagsox what a reply. Man says man don't get out much so man says hold my beer
Bit confused why you talk about the police in Finland, they have different laws! Or am I missing something. It”s not against the law to ask someone for their licence, but as you say you can just tell them no.
It’s aviation law. I hope the rectifies your confusion.
@@FlybyGuys eeerr no, show me where it says that in aviation law.
Awesome information ℹ️ as always Stephen thank you so much 🙏🏻
Awesome info.
Thanks Simon.

I know my rights, but why would you be unfriendly when they ask your Drone Licenses, This hobby is already in a unpopular among the people, and with a attitude from "I don't show it to you " you create more negative distance to the people who are against us. I have all the regulations and certifications in a book with me, and I show this to people who start to argument to me. In one of my videos, you can see a guy who is angry and is on the way to me. When he arrived near me, he told me that he would shoot my drone out of the air when I kept flying over the windmill. I told him that he will be arrested when he do this and I could show him the rules from my book. After I showed him the rules, he became nicer, I don't want to say we became friends when I left, but after showing my licenses and rules, he understood that he knows what I was doing. Educate the people instead of saying I don't show you my ID. Try to be an advocate of this hobby instead of be a person who stands by his rules. You will get more flies with honey than with vinegar!!!! The link to my video is ua-cam.com/video/H5zu39Vdbvs/v-deo.html The angry guy driving to me starts at 1:09
Firstly, I’m 100% for social acceptance. I encourage people to engage with the public to promote the drone community. Industry or hobby.
Nobody has the right to demand to see my ID other than the police, border guard and local CAA inspectors. Social acceptance or not, this is law.
Anyone complaining about drones to me, I will deal with the situation sensibly, as I’ve always done in the past.
If someone came up to you and demanded to see your driving license, what would you do?
@FlybyGuys I have no problem showing my driving license to somebody, I have nothing to hide. When I'm flying, I wear a badge holder with a copy of my drone certification on it. Especially when you fly these days, a lot of people have a very short temper. Personal I had four attacks against me, from people who started to complain that I was flying with my drone. For those people, I'm wearing a badge and a bodycam now!!! How more you are going in a discussion, how more it will escalate, that's why I'm showing them very quickly my certification, the official No-Fly App (so that they can see that it is allowed to fly there ) and my book with the rules. The discussion is then very quickly over. I think it's a better way than to tell that person who is upset what the law is, people who are angry are bad listeners
They can make it a condition for permission required. It is their business if you're on their land. Id is requested for lots of things. Storm in a tea cup.
Nobody has the right to demand to see your ID. As I mentioned, it’s ok in certain circumstances, for compliance. But not when it isn’t necessary.
@@FlybyGuys A random Karren no, But if it's made as condition for entry or permission for an activity, then they can or revoke permission. And its not a right, its a request.
So, 5 min for only 1 statement, this guy has talent to create useless content
Thank you for the kind words. To disappoint you enough to comment, which acutely helps the video, I say thank you for your stupidity.
@@FlybyGuys you can be upset as much as you want, it doesn’t change the fact that your content is useless) it’s very important subject and you didn’t share anything valuable)
