I know I was experiencing adrenal insufficiency because I was always fatigued. I started taking 10mg of DHEA and I feel much better. My anxiety has also decrease.
When I was menopausal 25 years ago, I tried DHEA, sadly it was increasing my estrogen too much and felt like I was on the pill, sore breasts, etc.I stopped.. perhaps it's different now. What helped me was the progesterone gel and bio identical progesterone. Very happy on those, did for years.
Post chemo it is typical to have painful dry vaginal issues so I purchased suppositories with Dhea. I didn’t use them every day but the morning before or night before for about 6 months. Made a big difference. Use them on and off now, if I “feel” like I need them.
I used Carlson Key-E suppositories and rolled them in the Dhea powder from the Life Extension Dhea capsules. I wanted as few chemicals as possible as I am sensitive. The lubrication from the suppository was just as beneficial as the Dhea, I believe. Given the sensitivity of those tissues, I wanted to err on the side of less is more with the Dhea. I do have to use a glycerin based lubricant each time but that wasn’t even helping prior to using the Dhea and suppository so I know it made a difference. It took about 3 -4 months
I started with 5 mg of DHEA. I am now taking 10mg and am going up to 15. I cannot go over 25mg due to a tiny cancerous tumor they found in my breast. I was treated with radiation. They immediately took me off my natural hormones and I felt terrible. I had no energy at all. I had to do something. The DHEA has helped so much with my energy levels even at low doses. I cannot help but feel the medical profession is wrong about cutting off all hormones when you develop cancer. Women age like crazy after menopause and I have started seeing wrinkles, my joints hurt, my arthritis is terrible and my skin is so dry. I now have no protection against heart disease although I have heard that DHEA can offer some heart protection. I will say that after taking DHEA for a few months it feels like it stops working. When it does that, I go back down to 5 mg for a week and then start easing back up. It seems to kick start my system. My body always tells me what I need.

Thanks Dr. Berg. I just want to ask, if taking 10 mg of DHEA and hair loss occurs, what would you attribute that to? I had taken this dose in 2018 and lost 40 lbs, felt and looked better than ever, and my depression and anxiety melted away. I was like a new person. That said, as fast as I’d lost weight, I also started losing hair; the other medication I’d started at the same time was LDN (hypothyroid/hashimotos). I was also taking DIM for symptoms of excess estrogen. In any case I stopped both the DHEA and LDN, and the hair loss stopped within three months. So; would you recommend I try DHEA again, given I am now almost 52, and when I took it first I was 46? I have also recently restarted DIM for perimenopause symptoms, while I wait to see a gynaecologist. Thank-you.
thx .. this lead to new findings on some of my older research about SRY Proteins, excellent to see continued work on developmental issues (as these relate to all stages of life), Menopausal issues definitely need more airtime.
I love Dr. Berg's insight to nutrition. I just read the Heathly Keto book and I am excited to see more of his you tube videos. They are very helpful!!!
This is super good timing. About 10 years ago I would go several months without a period and then I would gush for an entire month. It led to me being anemic and just no energy so my gynecologist put me on norethindrone. The doc said I had too much estrogen in my body. It worked wonderfully though I hate taking medication. 🤪 I've been taking it for a very long time close to 10 years if not more and my periods have dwindled down to about two days long. Due to C19 , new rules and scheduling conflicts I've been off it for a month. My period's completely stopped!! I'm freaking giddy!! I am in my crone phase FINALLY!! I think the medicine was prolonging my periods. So I think I might get me some DHEA which I had taken in the past and had really good results with it but there for a little bit it was hard to find. 🤷 thanks for the info!! I'm getting ready order some!! I'm pretty sure the estrogen has lessened down in my body by now.
How much did you take. You have to start really low and slow If you start too high you can really cause problems. I started with 5mg. Then I moved up to ten. Women should not take more than 30mg or you run the risk of health issues you do not want.
Dr Berg I love you! I'm 51 and I'm been taking 10mg dhea for menopause. I restarted IF. I had great results last year. I'm going start it again hopefully a lifestyle change permanently. My question is I'm doing an 18/6 IF is it okay to take dhea at 16 hours of fasting? Insulin levels drop and your glycogen stores ares depleted which help breakdown fat for energy. I'm may be over 181 lbs 5'2 . I've also noticed I can fast longer. Any reports you share with us? Thanks you helping me understand my body.
Doctor please provide more information on slightly elevated levels of DHEAS while cortisol levels are normal. While 5 fold to 10 folds increase could be caused due to some tumors while slightly elevated levels have no reasons supporting the cause for it.. Please share your research on this . Thanks in advance
First of all, Dr. Berg, thank you so much for all your help. I tried DHEA 25mg for eight months last year, but after six months, I started with some issues related to my periods. I experienced cramps, heavy periods, prolonged periods, but I was feeling much more energetic during the period I was taking the DHEA supplement. Nowadays, I can't take DHEA for more than a week without having my period starting again. I lost weight during my DHEA use, and I would like to try it again, but I am afraid of messing with my hormones doing that.
Hi there. Have you tried micronized DHEA at 5-10 mg doses instead? 25 is quite high for many women and sounds like it might have raised your estrogen too much. That happened to me. I now use 10 mg micronized DHEA which I get off of IHerb. I also use it every other day and find that this has helped me. Another thing to possibly try is sublingual pregnenolone. The grandmother of them all. I take 5 mg sublingually three times a week on opposite days of the DHEA. The combo was recommended by an MD/ Functional Medicine Dr here in Europe a year ago ( I am originally from the states where it’s easier to get them over the counter. Now I order online instead of paying the Dr’s exorbitant fees ) Hope this helps a bit. Best wishes xx ☺️🙏

I found taking enough potassium also helps with many menopause symptoms.
Look at Menopause Taylor. She is kind of weird in her presentation but the theatrics is quite useful for teaching and she really helped me
I hear you ❤️
Dr. Berg, can you do a video for us on maca root? Specifically for perimenopause, please!
You are the angel in the medical world, because of you I am healthier and stronger. I brought up issues and concerns to my doctor that you made me aware of and thank God for your amazing work I was sent for proper tests. Thank you so much

I started taking DHEA and that night I was getting the worst nightmares. Has anyone else had this?
Wow this video just made me want to do more research 😫
The answer man, at it again. Thanks!
Thanks Dr. Thank-you.
DHEA did wonders for my Eczema
What brand of DHEA
hi Dr Berg. THanks for the helpful video. Can you also make a video on hormone therapy for perimenopausal women please? Thanks you
Thank you! One time i took it too long on small amounts & started losing my hair , greasy and acne 😖 It was NOT great 😂now I use it cyclically
Dr. Berg thank you sooo much! My go to for health and happiness. Thanks Again!
My pleasure! Glad to help!
Another master piece video from Dr Berg leaving competition in the dust. Channel is on fire, adding 1 million subs like every couple of months
thx .. this lead to new findings on some of my older research about SRY Proteins, excellent to see continued work on developmental issues (as these relate to all stages of life), Menopausal issues definitely need more airtime.
Please share on perimenopause.
I love Dr. Berg's insight to nutrition. I just read the Heathly Keto book and I am excited to see more of his you tube videos. They are very helpful!!!
So glad they help!
This is super good timing.
About 10 years ago I would go several months without a period and then I would gush for an entire month.
It led to me being anemic and just no energy so my gynecologist put me on norethindrone. The doc said I had too much estrogen in my body. It worked wonderfully though I hate taking medication. 🤪
I've been taking it for a very long time close to 10 years if not more and my periods have dwindled down to about two days long.
thanks for the info!!
I'm getting ready order some!!
I'm pretty sure the estrogen has lessened down in my body by now.
Crone definition is - a cruel or ugly old woman.
All this did for me was cause facial hair growth. I stopped it and hair growth has greatly diminished
How much did you take. You have to start really low and slow If you start too high you can really cause problems. I started with 5mg. Then I moved up to ten. Women should not take more than 30mg or you run the risk of health issues you do not want.
Thank you Dr. Berg!!! You are the BEST!!!!
It really does away with hot flashes!
Not manopausal, yet thank you for the info Dr berg.
Thank you so much Dr Berg.Your videos are really amazing.
Should dhea be taken with food? When should it be taken in relation to food?
Hello doctor, can you make a video for us about obsessive-compulsive disorder?
I don’t know what I would do without you Thank you
Happy to help. Stay safe!
DHEA and DIM..can I take them together?
LOVE your content! I get so much out of each post!
Can you take DHEA along with hormone pellet therapy?
@@PandaA-cv3mm Thank you for your tips. I will give it a chance.
@@PandaA-cv3mm thank you for sharing this. May God bless you!
@@reneeharagsim4720 Of course Renee! Hope I could help a bit and bless you too, dear. 🙏🌈
Thank you Panda. I will try this combination. 😊
Thank you so much for all your helpful, precise and easy to understand info
I took this a long time ago. I heard that long term usage can be hazardous but I'm not sure. Maybe that's only under certain conditions.
How do we know if we have more estrogen or androgen? Thanks
Ask your Gyn dr to order a full blood panel, or look for a local anti-aging dr
Always love your informative videos
what about pregnenelone which is the pre cursor to DHEA and all other hormones?
Wondering the same!!!
If I’m taking bio identical hormones of estradiol and progesterone should I also add DHEA? I eat like a bird and I still can’t loose weight.
Thank you Dr. Berg. You are the best.🍵

Hi dr. Berg.
And... how much milligrams for women over 40 years old?
He said between 10 and 30 milligrams but NO MORE than 30 mg. It can make a woman's hair fall out if you take too much!!
Dr. Berg, please if you can share your thoughts on someone, me, who’s had a total hysterectomy (uterine cancer) including an appendectomy with past problems with DVT’s and PE’s. I’m unable to take any HRT’s prescription or OTC because of this but have all of the issues mentioned. Would I be a candidate in your opinion for taking a small dose of DHEA? Many thanks!
I would love to hear the answer to your great question. I can't help but notice most questions go unanswered.
Have you made a presentation for someone who has had a full hysterectomy & hormonal issues afterwards?
yes please answer so I can share with my daughter!
Yes that would be awesome as my ovaries failed straight after the hysterectomy
me too
I am breastfeeding and have zero testosterone on my blood work that’s explained lots

Thanks Dr Berg!!! Can you make a video on DMAE

How does your body know whether to use DHEA to create estorgen or testosterone? If you have low androden, low testosterone but high estrogen, can you take DHEA?
Dr Berg! if I take a DHEA supplement will it stop my body producing it naturally similar to exogenous testosterone would stop my body’s natural production?

At what age women could start taking DHEA, dr Berg?? I am 38 years old.. too late? Too early? Thank you very much..
Stress seem to be the cause for low level in DHEA, among other things ...
